A testament to a nation that spent an abundant amount of time dealing with harsh weather blossomed into the distance. As power started to be restored through out the city, pushing the darkness back and giving the night sky more illumination. Such that the trio could see with decreasing eye strain, the very nature of what had been sent to harm Yugi.
The man was just a lump on the ground, folded on himself in such a way no one could tell if he was alive or dead. The entity on the other hand was starting to form a shape, mist lingered in the air, trying to grab purchase on the framework. The conundrum of: if the invisible man stood in falling water, would the falling water make him visible?
Condensation struggled to find purchase on the form, it held then fell over and over. Perhaps if there was more light they would have been able to see. But with only the soft, distant light of the city all that appeared was a strange, bulky, humanoid shape. It couldn't be connected to the would be killer either. Not if it was still here while the man was out of it... Right? Ka beasts disappeared when the summoner was knocked out. Mahaado and Kuriboh were proof of that!
A low rumble rose up below them, stinging the air with its sound as the hospital lights strained to turn on. Around the helipad the emergency lights began to dispel the darkness, giving them a modest view of what was currently with them. Knee high real rabbits of various color patterns and styles, even those that weren't humanly possible. Teddy bears with gravestones and baseball bats were were also moving towards them. Rising from seeming the roof while sparkling against the water that was trying to cling to whatever was sent against the hospital.
Only the lights gave out plunging everyone back into darkness as the revving sound drifted into silence.
'Is it still drawing enough power to shut down a 'hospital'?' Anzu pondered in shock before a new thought, or possible worry, came following that. 'How much power is it draining? If its using it to become solid, its still cutting off the life support systems.'
But if they could stop it, then the life support systems could possibly start back up...
"Should we let it continue feeding? If the hospital is trying to come back online, this thing is going to be a threat to the people in ICU and CCU. They 'need' those machines to work!" Anzu asked, it felt childish to point this out to Kaiba. Yugi was on one of those machines after all, Kaiba was seemingly eternally laser focused on Mokuba and Yugi...
"Its covered."
'Yeah, that's why Yugi and he can duel so well...' Anzu thought a bit lost at how it could be 'covered'. 'Wait! Isis and Rashid!' the thought of the pair in the hospital sprang up, encouraging her into relaxing and going straight back to trying not to think of anything. But it made sense, they were in the limo and could possibly help. There was also the ghosts and the ghosts were very prone to affecting the electricity! What if the power dipping was because of them cutting the spirit off?
Regardless of what it 'could' be, Anzu's only real option was to hope that Kaiba could hold on. That soon enough Isis and Rashid would realized that the power had gone out in the hospital and reach them. Both could summon their Ka Beasts which would be able to back up Kaiba, as well as better be able to know what was going on and how to help!
Cold raced up her fingers and arm, setting off her skin from the exposure of humidity. But it served as a notice that the ghosts were also on the roof and not just in the building! As quickly as it reassured her she pushed all of them out of her mind. Kaiba didn't need a small army of spirits or versions of the Ishtars to join in. Kaiba's Ka blocked her view of the spirit as it rushed forward, trying to get past the summoned creatures.
Weighted sounds of metal cutting through flesh began to fill the air, as well as the screams of dying rabbits. A stark and sudden sound that hadn't happened during the battle now sent chills down Anzu's spine more than the spirits. Hearing the dying shrieks of a docile bunny cranked up loud enough to be a child's cry made her shrink back and want to try for a toy bunny... Anything really that didn't make a sound like 'that'.
Illusion or not, they sounded alive, and they were just bunnies...

The feeling of power being restored was a strange one.
For someone like Isis who spent decades underground, the sensation of depowered electrical devices suddenly springing to life was still unnerving. Sensation raced across her skin, sending shivers and tried to put her hair on end. Light ignited above them searing her vision in sharp white light, screens blinked back into life as a scramble of numbers and letters splashed across screens. Ventilation began spewing cold air washing away the mounting heat that had begun to consume the hospital.
While outside Yugi's private room, the sound of the nurses' station was a mixture of shock and elation. Shoes squeaked as nurses began running, calling out to each other only for the world to get plunged once 'more' into darkness. Isis and Rashid was more experienced to the extremes of darkened underground versus bright sun. But for the nurses the sudden, unwelcomed change brought cries of frustration, desperation and escalating despair.
Rashid, stood near the side of Yugi's bed, his head still blown with the air conditioning system and his eyes instantly caught the light of the life support system.
It was on...
Turning from the bed he rushed to the door and called out in a voice that rattled that despair away, "do not stop! The life support systems are working! Do not abandon the patients!"
Outside the world fell into momentary silence.
And then...
Then it exploded as the scrambling resumed, nurses crying out in confirmation. One ran right into Rashid as she came tumbling into the room. She stumbled in the darkness, but the screen began to unscramble itself. Outside a matronly voiced nurse shouted orders, sending the scrambling to different rooms to see to patients.
"Praise God, praise Kaiba...!" Nurses called out as they confirmed the rooms they were checking.
"If only they knew for sure that they are hosting two Gods," Isis mused in her own language as she looked down at Yugi. Even if all she could see was the barest of outlines of his face she could feel his warm hand in hers. "We will not allow that demon to win this world, Yugi," she told the sleeping body before her as her hand squeezed his...

"This thing is not a spirit, not like us or anything I've seen in my time," his Ancient mother noted with a slight twist of her mouth. "It has no form to speak off, an outline at most and it is creating things based off the thoughts of the trio on the roof."
"Is it not a Ka Beast with the ability to be invisible?" Ryou asked as he brooded over the 'board' he had set up. Kaiba's piece was roughly in the same general location, with two more that his Ancient mother had identified as Anzu and Mokuba.
"No... It came from no one source, it feels cobbled together if I were to put word to it. Incomplete, and loath am I to say this. The General needs help, he can't do this on his own. He has expended an ocean to defy the natural order and bring the Pharaoh back to the living. But he has drained himself to a mere cup. It appears, that the healers of the House have taken to heart Anzu's suggestion. They pray to the General to protect the people and aware of it or not, he 'is' answering their prayers. This wisp of whatever can not sup on the power going to the machines that give life, but it is still draining the House. We can see that his power is struggling as it is being pulled in a great many directions."
"The staff is praying 'to' Kaiba? To protect the hospital?" Bakura clarified as his mind tried absorb the information. 'Anzu I don't know what you were thinking when you suggested that...' he thought before closing his eyes. "I can't summon Mahaado, he'll reject me easily. Go to Malik, he should have cards with the words I need. Tell him to 'Pray'." Bakura instructed as he stared down at the field.
"I will make sure he is, but I suspect that the message has already been sent out, from what I heard among the other spirits.." His ancient mother assured.
Ka Beasts were limited, Aknadin had only so many people and so much time to turn them into properly sealed Ka Beasts. Though likely all of them had been turned into cards for the game, many, many, more were made to flesh it out by Pegasus. So were they dealing with one such creation being fed to life by the demon? Or was it something wholly original spun by the demon or whoever commissioned its creation?

It wasn't a good sound to hear Kaiba growl, Anzu decided as she stood there. Several times Kaiba managed to land what 'should' have been a solid hit on the entity. But the sword passed through uselessly. Reminding her that all duel spirits had limitations, even Mahaado despite how strong he was. After all he wasn't here, now was he? Mokuba was clinging to her side now that the bunnies were dangerously big compared to the child.
A flash of light in the sky caught Anzus' attention, causing her to look up and wonder. Was Kaiba getting his second wind? Was he calling forth another storm? Or could it be just another storm sparked into being by Kaiba's own storm? There was no telling which scenario was even the 'better' option either.
In the lightning Anzu could see a bit of the back of what was serving as Kaiba's Ka Beast. An European style of armor was all she could make out in the sudden light that disappeared in the distance. When it disappeared from the limited vision Anzu had in the rain she found herself growing more concerned. Was it purely pride that was keeping Kaiba on his feet and he had actually reached his limit?
"I don't..." Kaiba began before his voice faded into himself again. Conflicted and displeased, Anzu couldn't fathom exactly why he was talking out loud or saying 'that'. He played his hands obscenely close to his chest, so why speak out loud? "I don't deserve to ask you of this..."
"Don't think about what I'm doing... Don't think about anything at all if you're going to stay up here with me." Kaiba suddenly ordered, his voice a snarl of raw emotion.
Anzu looked down at Mokuba, but the child looked as confused and unsure as she did. 'Not think about anything?' It wasn't like Kaiba, 'asking' when did Kaiba ever do 'that'? It felt wrong, as though he was talking to different people, with her and Mokuba being told not to think. But why?
While a sense of encroaching danger consumed Anzu's senses. She could feel something large and predatory starting to circle the space about them when the realization slapped her. She had recalled the older Ishtars, as well as the spirits of Ryou's ancient village. Yet in the rush of trying not to think of 'anything' to help this entity, she 'forgot' the one most iconic beast that was connected to Kaiba!
'Oh wow, oh no but oh wow,' she thought as small bunnies disappeared from her thoughts. Would he? Could he? They had asked so much of him, but she could see sparks of thin trails of bone bleached white lightning dancing in the air over head. Felt the coursing electric up her spine and this savage awareness looming over her.
"Kisara? Will you help me?"
Was it an Ancient Egyptain word? A name? Anzu didn't know as she found Mokuba's hand and held on tight as Kaiba began to chuckle.
It started out simple, a little off, a little tired, but it rose the way the storms did as they rushed in on his unaware desire. Thunder was nothing to the roar that spun on the light cast by lightning, somewhere in Egypt a lone Tablet ignited into white light. Light exploded over Kaiba's head and a single white dragon rose up from it. He laughed as the dragon took flight, her wings stretched out as she soared above them rising straight to the sky like prayers from man to the Gods above.
She rose in power and majesty, the distant light's paled in comparison as she glowed in the light of her own element. The bands that made up her long draconic form layered upon layer reached across from her rounded nose to the tip of her tail. Blue Eyes White Dragon dipped down and began circling around the hospital roof, her eyes the only color on her body. Her head tilted down to the side so she could keep an eye on the roof that she was circling.
Gazing upon her, Anzu could only ponder why she was called a 'white' dragon when she was clearly 'silver'. But Kaiba didn't call her 'Blue Eyes' he called her something else, did he name it? Did he not have the word for 'silver' when he did so all those ages ago.
"Blue Eyes..." Mokuba reached for the dragon with his free hand, it was more than a duel of holographic images. More than a plane custom designed to look 'like' a dragon but never was, it was real. As real as Mahaado, and Mokuba could 'feel' its presence, raw power that fairly overwhelmed his senses. All he saw was Blue Eyes manifested as a real dragon in the world.
His Big Brothers' power.
As perfect as the image was, as symbolic as the presence of the dragon 'was', Anzu suddenly realized why he said not to think. Horror exploded about all of them as similar balls of light came into existence, as more and more Blue Eyes White Dragons began to fill the sky around the hospital. Unlike the one Kaiba called forth they hung in the air, almost still images that could have been holograms like the pair were used to.
These weren't.
Like the teddy bears and bunnies, they moved...
And they had power... the power to decimate the hospital... She couldn't even count how many were appearing as they stood there. Not just the hospital in fact, they could destroy the whole... As glorious as seeing Kaiba summon Blue Eyes 'was', Anzu realized they had just doomed all of Domino. The copies caused Kaiba's to move above them as they took up so much space hanging in the air as still images. She snarled at these copies, clearly displeased by their presence, but the copies answered with unnerving silence.
Only given time they 'would' start making sounds, Anzu suspected as the first of the copies began to stretch their wings. Suddenly the increase in light was unwelcomed as the light was being provided by a vast number of copy versions of Blue Eyes. She waited for some harsh comment from Kaiba, and couldn't help but feel it was well deserved at that moment.
"Big Brother..." Mokuba's voice was incredibly confident as he spoke, unshaken by the excessive numbers of dragons. "You can control them all right? You have that spell card right?"
Anzu had no idea what Mokuba was suggesting, but Kaiba gave a soft, weary yet amused chuckle. "I need a magician for that and I am not calling anyone."
She had no idea what he meant, and could only pick away at the soft exhaustion in his voice, the resignation that they were at their end. He could only summon the one Blue Eyes Dragon, and there was an excessive number of them now. "I'm so sorry, I know you said not to think... Its just... I..."
At her hip she could hear Mokuba finally realize his part in why there were suddenly an immediate sky filled with Blue Eyes White Dragons. His own voice joining hers in an effort to apologize for this horrible mistake. The awareness that this 'whatever' it was had managed to take advantage of the only dragon Kaiba had managed to call. Though now with so much light they could see that there wasn't anything 'there'. The man was unmoving still, but the entity had no form, even amid all this light there was no shadow, the struggling water was the only definitive shape that it had.
"Its fine, I'm out of options anyway." Kaiba replied with a faintly resigned but stubborn tone. He had no more fight left, but he was going to keep fighting...
"Are you sure about that?"
