Raw: December 31, 2012

Randy and I looked at each other as we walked backstage together. We had been open in the public about my pregnancy for six days now. Both of our phones had received an absolutely insane amount of phone calls ever since. Despite that, it was nice that I did not have to hide my baby bump at work. Plus, we were keeping the gender between a small group of people, so not quite everything was public.

Randy squeezed my hand. "How are you doing today?"

I smile. "Really good actually. I think being in the second trimester now has done me a huge favor because I feel good again."

"That's good. I'm happy about that. Glad that our baby boy is treating you better."

"It's not the baby's fault."

Randy laughed. "It was a joke. Relax, sweetheart."

"Okay, are we going to start working on the baby's room soon?"

"That's what I had planned on starting soon."

"Thanks. I love you."

"I love you too. Can't wait for these next six months."

"You and me both."

Miz stops as he walks past us. "Hey, I heard the news. Congratulations, you two. I hope it's a healthy baby."

Randy and I both nod. "Thanks."

"See you two around." Miz passes the two of us while walking in the opposite direction.

"It still seems crazy that I'm pregnant sometimes." I comment quietly.

Randy kissed my cheek. "I know, beautiful. I'm happy with everything right now though, and it seems like you are too."

I looked at my small baby bump. "Yeah, you're right. At the moment, I'm happy."

"I'm going to be kicking your brother and his friends' asses tonight."

"Wrong brother, but do whatever works I guess."

Randy gave a soft laugh. "It's just work. Colby and I are on good terms. There's nothing to worry about."

I lean on him. "That's good to hear."

Randy kissed my forehead. "You're so great, beautiful. You know that?"

"That's what I hear. Here's our locker-room."

Randy nodded. "It's funny that your name is on the door since you aren't wrestling."

"Hey, I'm entitled to that. I spent eight years as an active professional wrestler."

Randy opens the door. "I know, babe. I know. Come in."

I enter the locker-room and sit on the couch. "I have no idea when I'll be back in the ring."

"After the baby is born."

"Duh, I meant how long after that. I'll need time after giving birth, and I may take extra time away from the ring because of the baby."

"Oh, I see." Randy started changing into his ring gear. "You would probably be compelled to get back in the ring at some point though. You love wrestling a lot."

"Yeah, but I think it'll be quite some time. Like I think wrestling in 2013 is completely out of the question for me."

"You think so?"

"Yeah, I'll be giving birth in the middle of the year. Plus, my body will need time to recover."

"And nothing will make you wrestle before the end of that year?"

"I hate being this much of a pessimist, but the Divas division is getting worse, despite my best efforts. Eve is leaving after she drops the Divas Championship. After that, Natalya, Layla, and AJ would essentially be the only ones on my level of competition. That's not enough to motivate me to come back."

"I see." Randy gives me a reassuring smile. "I think you know this already, but remember that I'll support you all the way."

"I do know that, and I appreciate it very much."

Eve stands with me as we watch a monitor as the Shield beats up Ryback and Sheamus. "I'm defending the Divas Championship against Kaitlyn next week."

I nod. "I know. I approved the match."

"I'd be content losing it to her."

"Don't drop it on purpose, Eve."

"I won't. I swear, Rissa. I'm just ready to move on to different things in life."

"I hear you. It's going to be weird when you're gone."

"Why's that?"

"You, Chelle, and Ryse are my best friends. You're the last one who's here still. I'm not going to have you after you lose."

"It'll suck, but we'll still talk. You're on maternity leave after WrestleMania week anyway."

"Point taken. What do you plan on doing after retiring?"

"Just focus more on other things I've wanted to do. Lean more into my Jiu-Jitsu training, maybe start a business, hopefully, eventually, planning my wedding. Ya know, stuff like that. I just know it's my time to be done here after I lose the Divas Championship."

"I understand. I'm sure I'm done for at least the next year for sure, maybe longer."

Eve raises an eyebrow at me. "Maybe longer?"

"Hey, I'm pregnant right now. I'll need time for my body to recover after birth. Then, I'll need some motivation to wrestle. Maybe longer."

"What are you going to do then?"

"I figure after giving birth, I'd slowly go back to my job backstage and possibly move back to being Randy's manager for the time being."

"That could work. I feel like you could never fully drop wrestling."

"It'd be hard for me. That's for sure."

"But you'll probably at least always have a role backstage. That's enough to keep you occupied. Plus you have a bundle of joy on the way."

I smile as I move my hand to my baby bump. "Yeah, I've got this little guy to worry about."

"And he'll be a lucky little boy. You're going to be an amazing mom. There's your man making the save for Sheamus and Ryback."

I watch the events displaying on the monitor. "Yeah, it's weird seeing my husband and brother fight like that."

Eve nods. "I bet it is. It seems like things are going well for Colby and his friends."

"I think so too. I'm really happy for him."

"You should be. You've got a family member being successful."

I nod. "Yeah, I'm going to go meet Colby and Randy in guerilla. Let's talk more later."
