Raw: January 14, 2013
Randy laces up his boots as he was getting ready for Raw tonight. "I'm facing Wade Barrett tonight."
I look at him. "When are you not facing Wade these days?"
"When I'm facing Dolph Ziggler."
I laugh. "Yeah, you do face Dolph a lot."
"I do, so what's up with your pretty little self tonight?"
I shrug. "You know, the usual, doing paperwork, watching you wrestle tonight, sitting here fifteen weeks pregnant. Nothing unusual."
Randy nodded. "You do seem to be doing well tonight."
I smile. "For now. I'll be exhausted again soon enough."
"Yeah, you'll be asleep, snoring as soon as we get back to the hotel."
"If we want to talk about snoring, you do it all the time. I never snored until I was pregnant."
Randy laughs. "That's true, but it's funny to me now."
I roll my eyes. "You're such an asshole, Randy."
"That's what I hear. By the way, I'm also going to be saving Mick Foley from an attack from the Shield later."
"Is that your way of telling me that you're beating up my younger brother later?"
Randy shrugs. "Pretty much. Be happy I'm letting you know."
"I am happy that you are."
"You should be." Randy places a hand on my baby bump. "How's our little man today?"
I smile. "He seems to be how he normally is. He's not far along enough that I can really feel anything yet, but I think I would know if something was wrong."
Randy nods. "That's called maternal instincts."
"I can't believe I'm this far into a pregnancy."
Randy ran his fingers through my hair. "It's happening though. Our little surprise baby."
I lean on him. "I love you so much."
"I love you too, and I love you, little man."
I smile at Randy. "You're such a good dad."
"Thanks. Don't act like you're not an absolutely amazing mom."
"Do you really think so?"
"Of course I do. You're great with our daughter, and you'll be great with our son."
I smile. "Thanks, Randy."
"I gotta get going. I will see you later. I love you."
"I love you too."
Randy was still tense after losing his match earlier, but we were in guerilla at the moment. Eve was defending her Divas Championship against Kaitlyn tonight, so we were in guerilla just in case Eve was going to end up losing and subsequently retiring. John and Cody were present in guerilla as well to show their support as well, and Ted likely would've been as well if he wasn't already in the Bahamas, finishing up last minute wedding details with Maryse.
"You seem tense." I whisper.
"I'm fine. I'm just frustrated with how my match ended against Wade earlier."
I sigh. "I know."
"And if we want to talk about tense, look at Cody over there." Randy nods towards Cody.
I glance at Cody. "You're right. Cody looks really tense. I wonder what his deal is."
Randy shrugs. "Who knows? It might be Eve's last match, but considering how content she is with that, I doubt he's tense about that."
"I'm sure he'll be fine after her match."
"Hopefully."
Eve quickly exits the ring to recover. She then slides back into the ring, and Kaitlyn hits her with a Spear. Kaitlyn pins Eve.
1…2…3!
"Here is your winner and the NEW WWE Divas Champion, Kaitlyn!"
"Oh my God, she's done." I mutter.
Randy puts an arm around me. "It'll be alright."
"I know…it's just…wow, she's really done."
"Yeah, she's retiring from wrestling, but I'm sure she'll figure herself out."
Kaitlyn arrives backstage first. People start clapping for her. I watch on from where I stand. As Kaitlyn passes me and Randy, I pull her into a hug.
"Congratulations on becoming Divas Champion." I say to Kaitlyn. "I'm very impressed."
Kaitlyn smiled at me. "Thank you, Marissa. That means a lot coming from you. Congratulations on the baby by the way. Hopefully, we can finally have that Divas Championship match when you come back to wrestling."
"Hopefully, but I think you'll do just fine with it for now."
"Thanks. See you around." Kaitlyn exits guerilla.
Eve arrives backstage, practically in tears. Cody immediately rushes over to her and pulls her into a hug. Randy, John, and I slowly try to approach but keep some distance to respect this moment between Eve and Cody. Cody kisses Eve's forehead before lowering down to one knee.
"Oh. My. God." I mutter.
"No wonder he was so tense." Randy comments.
"Well, this is a surprise." John adds.
I quietly pull out my phone and start taking pictures.
Cody grabs Eve's hand. "Eve Marie Torres, I know that things are a bit crazy right now. You're retiring from wrestling. Things are starting to change. Despite all that, I want you to know that you are the best thing to happen to me. You make me happy, and I never want to lose that. I know things changing isn't something you like to deal with, but I want to ask you to allow one more thing to change. Will you change your last name to mine and marry me?"
Eve is silently crying. Cody is watching her nervously. Randy, John, and I, as well as many other people in guerilla are watching with interest.
Eve smiles at Cody. "Of course, Cody, I'll change my last name to Rhodes. I'll marry you. Yes."
Cody puts the engagement ring on Eve's finger before pulling her into a kiss. "I love you so much."
Randy, John, and I all watch. I smile as I put my phone away. Randy grabs my hand. Eve and Cody stop kissing and look at three of us.
I pull Eve into a hug. "Congratulations! Sorry you lost but congratulations!"
Eve laughs as she hugs me. "Thank you so much. This is so crazy."
"It is. I took pictures for you by the way."
"Of course you did. Thank you, I appreciate it."
"That's what friends are for. I hear there's cake in Catering. I think we should go get the boys and get some cake to celebrate."
"Sounds like a plan. Boys, let's go get cake in Catering!"
