I looked at myself in the mirror as we were all getting ready for Ted and Maryse's wedding. The dress that Ryse had me in was very tight fitting, so there was no hiding my small baby bump, which meant all the people who somehow didn't already know were likely going to ask me about being pregnant.
That wasn't what I needed to worry about right now though. Two of my favorite people were getting married today, and it's absolutely exciting.
"So he proposed right in guerilla after you lost the Divas Championship?" Ryse asks Eve. "That's actually super cute."
Eve blushed. "Isn't it? I'm so excited."
"You should be. This is amazing. I can get you some of the magazines and books that helped me with the wedding. It'll be perfect, Eve."
Chelle glances at me. "Ah…wedding fever. I remember those days."
I nod. "You and me both."
"Are you doing okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. Why wouldn't I be?"
"I'm just making sure. You're pregnant, and your husband isn't in the room. I'm here looking out for you."
"Well, I'm just fine, Chelle. Thanks."
I look over at Eve and Ryse to see the two women still gushing over Eve's engagement and Maryse's wedding.
Chelle looks at me. "How far along are you now?"
"I'm about fifteen and a half weeks pregnant."
"Isn't that exciting?"
I nod. "It is. I just still have a lot to figure out when it comes to this."
"That's understandable. Pregnancy isn't a simple thing. That's for sure."
I laugh. "No kidding. I'm sure that this little guy isn't going to give me an easy time. Plus the thought of labor is kinda scary."
"It's not as scary as it seems. You'll be just fine. I'm so excited to meet your little boy when he's born."
"You and me both. Randy started reading to him."
"Seriously? That's absolutely adorable."
"I know. This child has me so excited."
"You should be. Motherhood is a wonderful miracle, Rissa."
"I know. Hey, can I go outside and get some fresh air for a little bit?"
Ryse looks at me. "Yeah, that's fine. Morgan isn't even in here right now, and she's maid of honor. You're pregnant. If you need fresh air, go get fresh air. Hell, go see Randy if you want. Just be back before the wedding starts."
"Okay. Thank you."
I slowly walk outside of the chapel to get some fresh air. I spot Randy standing nearby.
"Did we have the same idea?" I ask him.
Randy turns and looks at me. "I think we did. I needed some fresh air."
"You and me both."
Randy pulls me to him. "How have you been today? I haven't seen you all day."
I nod. "I'm okay. I'm a bit tired though."
"You're pregnant. I'm not surprised."
"I wish I wasn't tired."
"It's okay to be tired. You may just have to sit down at the reception."
"You might be right about that. Sorry that I'm probably ruining some of your chances to have fun."
"You're not, Rissa. I'm having plenty of fun. I'm happy just to be here with you. Ted and Ryse are getting married today. This is plenty of fun."
"I'm glad to hear that."
"Have you eaten today?"
"I've eaten a few times. I've been hungry. Even if I wasn't hungry, I'm pretty sure Chelle would make me eat food."
"I would hope that you would eat food on your own."
"Well, I did, and I'll eat plenty at the reception."
"Good. You should eat a lot. Hell, I'll probably eat a lot."
"You're a six foot five, two hundred and fifty pound professional wrestler. You should eat a lot."
Randy laughs. "And I will, Marissa."
"Good. I hope you know that I'm sleeping like a baby tonight."
"Good, you should sleep a lot. I'll sleep a lot too. There's nothing wrong with that. Man, I'm really craving some of the food that we had at our wedding right now."
I laugh. "I thought that was just me."
"It's not. It's both of us apparently."
"Maybe I can call the caterers and have them deliver us some food when we get back home."
"You should definitely do that."
"I should. Plus I'm sure you'll be working up an appetite with all the handy work you plan on doing around the house."
"That's not the only thing I do at home that makes me work up an appetite." Randy winks at me.
I playfully smack his arm. "Do you really have to do that right now?"
Randy laughs. "Would I be me if I didn't do that? We should probably head back inside."
"Yeah, that's not a bad idea."
Randy kisses me. "I love you."
"I love you too."
We walk back inside the chapel.
"We are gathered here today, on this happy and joyous occasion, to join this man and this woman in holy matrimony." The officiant, who is actually Ted's father, says. "Marriage is a solemn institution to be held in honor by all, it is the cornerstone of the family and of the community. It requires of those who undertake it a complete and unreserved giving of one's self. It is not to be entered into lightly, as marriage is a sincere and mutual commitment to love one another. This commitment symbolizes the intimate sharing of two lives and still enhances the individuality of each of you. Theodore Marvin DiBiase Junior, do you take this woman to be your wedded wife? Do you promise to love her, comfort her, honor and keep her in sickness and in health, remaining faithful to her as long as you both shall live?"
"I do." Ted says as he looks at Maryse.
"Maryse Ouellet, do you take this man to be your wedded husband? Do you promise to love him, comfort him, honor and keep him in sickness and in health, remaining faithful to him as long as you both shall live?"
"I do." Maryse says as she looks at Ted.
"Then by the power invested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."
Everyone claps as Maryse and Ted kiss. Randy glances at me and smiles. I glance at my baby bump before smiling back at him.
I watch from our table as Ted and Ryse have their first dance together. "They look so happy."
Randy grabs my hand. "They just got married. I hope they're happy. Marriage is supposed to be happy."
I nod. "I know, even if we didn't really get to be that happy at first."
"But we're incredibly happy now."
"I know. I'll give you a dance in a little bit if you want. Do you need anything? I'm going to get more water."
"No, I'm good. Thanks, Rissa."
"Okay, I'll be back in a little bit."
I walked up to get another glass of water. "Man, I wish I could drink alcohol right now."
Morgan smiles at me as she gets herself a glass of water. "You and me both. We're in the same boat now."
"You're pregnant?"
"Yeah, I'm pregnant again. I just found out a couple nights ago. Maryse doesn't even know yet. I figured you'd feel a bit better to know that you're not the only in that situation at the moment."
"Honestly, it does make me feel a little bit better."
"Good. How's the pregnancy been going for you?"
"It's been alright. I'm really tired, and the first trimester sucked. It's been pretty good now though."
"That's good. I assume you know what you're having then."
"Yeah, we're having a boy. We just chose to keep that pretty private because everything else in our lives is so public."
"That's understandable. I'm really happy for you and Randy."
"Thanks. I'm happy for you and Chris too. Congratulations on baby number four."
Morgan laughs. "Thanks. I think I'm done after this one. Isabella, Collin, and Cason are all pretty big handfuls already. I think this will be our last one."
"I'm sure four kids should be enough to keep you busy."
"I don't see why it wouldn't be."
"Well, I'm really happy for you."
"Thanks, if you need someone to talk to about pregnancy, feel free to call."
I nod. "Thanks, Morgan."
"So have you guys discussed baby names much?" Chelle asks as we sit at our table at the reception.
"Not really. We've been focused on other things with my pregnancy." I answer.
"Well, I still don't understand why we can't just name him after me." Randy comments.
I give Randy an annoyed look. "Because that's weird. What's up with men naming their sons after them?"
"I'm named after my dad." John comments. "So is Ted."
"And my dad was named after his dad." Randy adds. "And I share a middle name with them."
"Listen, I understand that." I put a hand on Randy's shoulder. "I really do understand that, but I think the whole naming your son completely after you thing is weird. I'm willing to give him your middle name. Hell, I'm willing to even give him your initials and stick with an R first name, but I think naming him completely after you is a bit much. I want you to be involved in naming him. He's your son after all, but he's my son too. I should also get a say in this."
"I hear you." Randy stands up. "I'm going to go smoke."
Randy walks away. The rest of us quietly watch him exit the building.
"Was that a fight?" I ask.
"It sounded like one." Chelle comments.
"Was I being an asshole?"
"No, you make a good point. It's not just his kid. Hell, you're the one who's sacrificing her job to have a baby. You should have a say on the name." Eve comments.
"Admittedly, even I think naming a son fully after the father is weird." Cody comments. "I wouldn't do it. Plus, you're letting him have the same middle name as Randy and are more than willing to give him Randy's initials. That's plenty of compromise in my eyes at least."
"Randy will get over it. We still have until early July." I say to Cody. "We'll come to an agreement. Let's just focus on this wedding reception for now. We're all supposed to be in a good mood."
