LIttle patterings could be heard through a hall of the castle. The short and slightly chubby legs were carrying their owner as fast as they could even with several trips over the "cape" along the way. Her short stature combined with the too long "cape" had her tripping over it quite a bit, but she was too excited to slow down.
In her rush, she passed by several servants. She did not slow down, but she did shout an apology if she almost ran into any. She may have not been the most polite girl, but her Mommy did at least try to teach her manners.
Unfortunately, she did not exactly know where her destination was, but she was so full of energy that it did not matter much. She was determined to find her no matter what, and no villain would stop her in her quest. Just like her Mommy and Daddy in her young and imaginative mind.
The young bluenette checked many locations, but they kept turning up empty. However, she was not going to give up or let up on her hunt. She was close. There were not that many more likely places to check, and her legs may have been short, but they were full of energy she would use to carry her to her goal.
Eventually, the young girl found her target when she ran out into the garden. Eyes going wide, she somehow picked up her pace even further.
"Mommy! Mommy, look!"
Lucina looked up from the flower bush Sumia had given her to tend to upon hearing her daughter. The older bluenette immediately smiled upon seeing her run up, quickly scooping the little girl into a hug as she reached her.
"Morgan, I thought you were with your father."
"I was, but I couldn't wait to show you my costume!" Morgan wiggled out of her mother's grasp before striking a heroic pose, "See, now I look like Mommy!"
"Oh wow," Lucina took a closer look, and, sure enough, Morgan had a more kid friendly version of her ornate dress she wore for extremely formal occasions. The "cape" was more of a towel, and the hem of her dress definitely had some mud on it, but Lucina did not care much about that in the moment.
"There you are," The mother and daughter were interrupted as Robin finally caught up to his little girl, "She was so excited to show you that she ran off without me."
"Sworry," Morgan pouted bashfully at her father's disapproving tone.
"Well, I think we will excuse it this once," Lucina smiled at her daughter, "But next time you need to make sure not to run off on your own."
Morgan nodded emphatically to demonstrate her compliance as Robin came and scooped up his girls causing the two to giggle.
"So was this your idea?" Lucina asked her darling husband.
"No, actually. Morgan wanted a princess outfit of her own. She insisted on the cape too."
"Well," Lucina smiled fondly at her daughter, "What's a princess without her cape?" Morgan beamed with happiness as Robin let her down. "I'm almost done here. How about we grab some dinner together and show our little princess off?"
"Yay!" The young one cheered, making her father chuckle.
"How could I say no to that?"
Robin managed to entertain Morgan while Lucina finished up with the bush - daisies as Sumia had noticed her daughter's particular affinity for them even if she did not know why. Though, Morgan did not need much help in that department. Instead, Robin mostly kept her from messing up her dress anymore than she already had.
Before long, they were all on their way out of the gardens with Morgan walking between them holding their hands. Lucina was positively beaming at this point. Having a family of her own was surreal enough at times, but she adored seeing her daughter want to emulate her. It helped assuage any fears she may have had about her quality as a mother.
As Morgan used their help to jump high, Lucina giggled to herself in utter happiness. This was her baby girl. They had won. She got to live with Robin, and they had a beautiful family together. Her life had gone from miserable to one of happiness, and somewhere along the way, she had adjusted to that change.
While Morgan rambled on about what she wanted for dinner to a cheerfully listening Robin, Lucina remained a bit more quiet as she watched. Her smile grew softer, but still just as genuine. She loved her family. Running a hand over her midsection, her smile deepened. All of them.
A/N: Some nice fluff. Enjoy.
Resplendent Lucina looking nice. Which Lucina are you all going to vote for in the Engage AHR?
