Just a little further. That was what Robin had been mentally repeating to himself for hours now. Days maybe. He had honestly lost count. He just refused to stop. He was close. So close. He refused to rest. Not when he was so close. He was determined to see. To see if she was still there.

His body screamed at him to stop and take a rest, but he was having none of that. He had been gone long enough. Made everyone worry and wait. Made her worry. He loathed himself for it, but at the same time, he did not see himself making any other choice.

All the same, the cloaked tactician found himself wondering if she would even still be there. It had taken months to get back. Bartering for rides and even passage to another continent. It had taken so long, but he held onto hope that she had not gone back.

He had no way to really know where she would even be, but he had a good idea. Before they had left for Plegia, they had used the peace, as short lived as it may have been, to build a small home out in the woods of Ylisse. His wife did always insist on being out of the way, and truth be told, Robin liked having his own place so that he did not feel like he was freeloading off Chrom's generosity.

She was there. He had no proof, and for all he knew she was out looking for him. Still it was where his feet took him without bidding. If he happened to be wrong, well, he would collapse and resume his search after he awoke.

Not that it mattered. She would be there.

Lucina looked out the window as lightning struck nearby. It was dark and rainy meaning she lacked visibility, but there was no fire at least. Turning back to her book she sighed. She hated just sitting still like this, but with the days growing short the search for Robin was paused until spring.

Standing from the window seal where she had been seated, she walked over to her husband's desk and sat the book down. She knew she should sleep, but she found it hard in that large bed all alone. She missed him dearly.

Her mother had asked her to live in the castle until he returned, but Lucina had refused. She did not want to be a bother or risk someone spotting her brand, but more than that, this was the house she and Robin had built. This was where she would stay until his return. No matter how empty it seemed at times.

They had built for growth. Built for a family. Even she was able to gather that it was one of his ways of saying she could stay. She could not complain. She had stayed after all. Now she just wished her husband would come back to share it with her again. It was a lonely house on her own, but it was home.

Even Morgan was staying back at the castle, reorganizing their forces as they rebuilt. Walking through the dark hall as the rain beat down on the roof, Lucina walked into the living room which was not particularly lively at the moment, but she was determined she would hold down the fort until her family got back.

She was about to hunker down and rest on the couch when she heard something large knock against her door. She wondered if a tree branch had flown off and hit it. Lucina groaned as she stood up and grabbed a coat to see if there was any damage real quick.

However, when she opened the door, she did not find a tree limb like she had expected. There, drenched on her front porch, was a cloaked man. Lucina froze in place for almost a full minute before she came to and hurriedly drug him inside and closed the door behind them.

Moving quickly, Lucina removed the wet coat and some of his outter clothes, laying them out on the floor in front of the dying fireplace. She then started wrapping him in blankets, but as she did so, she noticed plenty of bruises and cuts. This made her caress his cheek.

"Where have you been?"

Robin awoke slowly. His vision was blurry at first, but he soon realized he was in a comfortable living room. His living room. He quickly started and tried to move from his cocoon of blankets, but he was subdued by a gentle hand.

"Rest," A familiar voice told him, "You were exhausted."

"Lucina?" His voice was hoarse. Just how long had he been walking?

"I'm here," She smiled, "I almost can't believe it's real, but here you are."

"I'm sorry it took so long," Robin leaned into her hand on his cheek, "I appeared…somewhere. It took a while to get back."

"All that matters is that you're back," His wife smiled, "You're home now."

Home. Robin liked the sound of that, and with a tired but content smile, he drifted back to sleep.
