Elimination Chamber: February 17, 2013
There was a lot on my mind tonight. The events of the past few days had been such a whirlwind. I was beyond upset, and my stress levels were astronomical, which I was pretty sure was bad for the baby.
I was alone in our locker-room. With Randy not being around, I was alone with my thoughts. Considering the past couple days, that was definitely not a good thing.
I hear a knock on the door. I slowly get up and walk over to open the door. Colby was standing in front of me.
Colby smiled and hugged me. I hug him back. Seeing as Tyler and I were not on any speaking terms at the moment, having support from my other brother was probably something I needed.
"You can come in." I whisper.
Colby lets me out of the hug. "Okay, I wanted to talk to you anyway. I was on the phone with Randy last night, and he let me get an idea of what's going on. Plus, I have a couple things to ask you about myself. That is as long as that's okay right now."
I close the door behind Colby after he walks in. "That's fine. What do you need to ask me about?"
"Did you know Tyler and Lauren are expecting a baby?"
I sigh. "Yeah, he mentioned that when he showed up at my door to bitch me out a couple weeks ago."
"I see. He asked me about getting him and Kenny tickets to WrestleMania. What do you want to do?"
"Personally, I don't want him there. I feel like it'll stir up more stress for me, which is the last thing I need right now. I don't have an issue with Kenny coming though, of course. If you want Tyler there, invite him, but if you do, I'm keeping my space. Randy likely will too."
"I don't want him there. I just wanted your opinion before I made my decision. I'm not inviting him. I'll worry about getting a ticket to Kenny though. Randy and you won't need to worry about it."
"Thanks. I appreciate it."
"How are you holding up?"
"I'm not. I'm too stressed out. Randy and I are full custody parents of Al. While I'm more than happy to have her, it's scary and the cause of why it happened is bad. I'm upset. I'm stressed. I still have to worry about the baby growing inside me too."
Colby gave me a serious look. "Marissa, look at me."
I turn to look at him. "Okay."
"You're not Mom. Okay? You'll figure it out. You're going to figure it out."
"I'm terrified of screwing up motherhood."
"I can understand why you feel that way, but you're not like Mom at all. I think you'll be able to take care of everything just fine."
"I hope so."
"You will."
Randy walked in. He glanced at both me and Colby. Colby nodded at Randy. Randy sat next to me and pulled me close.
Colby smiled at me. "You're going to be okay. I'll leave you be since Randy is here now, but if you need to talk to me, please call. See you guys later."
I stood in Catering, watching a monitor as the Elimination Chamber match was going on. Randy being in this match worried me, but I could see him having a chance to win it.
"Mind if I join you?" Someone asks.
I turn to see Morgan standing behind me. "No, I don't mind at all."
Morgan smiled at me. "Thanks. Are you nervous about this match too?"
"Nervous is an understatement. I trust Randy, but a match like this gets me anxious about his health."
"Believe me, I'm the same way about Chris."
"Can I ask you a question?"
"Sure, go ahead."
"How do you do it? The whole motherhood thing?"
"I don't think it's the same for anyone. I think you just have to put the kids first and provide what needs to be provided for each child, which will vary between kids. I think you'll be good at it though. You are a very caring person and are attentive. You're a hard worker. That's what a mom should be."
"We're going to have my stepdaughter full time now. I still consider her my kid no less than the baby inside me, but since we have never had her all the time before, I'm worried I'll mess something up."
"Everyone makes mistakes, Marissa. You just have to learn from them. Randy will be around to help too. You guys will be fine. I think you have nothing to worry about. You'll figure out what works for you."
"I think I needed to hear that. Thank you."
"Of course."
Morgan and I watched as Randy eliminated Chris from the match by pinning him after an RKO. Jack Swagger immediately rolled Randy into a pin after to beat Randy and win the match.
"Here is your winner, Jack Swagger!"
Morgan and I exchanged a look.
"Do you want to head to guerilla to meet up with them?" Morgan asks.
"I think that's a great idea." I replied before following her in the direction towards guerilla.
I laid in bed as Randy and I were on the tour bus. Due to recent events, neither of us had been in very talkative moods for days, and tonight was no different. I knew it was not good that neither of us were talking much, but just having Randy around at the moment was comforting enough for me.
Randy got in bed next to me. "How are you holding up?"
I turn to look at him. "I'm not."
"Me either. Sorry that I haven't talked much lately. Just between…"
"I get it. There's no need to apologize, Randy."
"Okay. I love you, Rissa."
"I love you too. I have to figure this motherhood thing out. It's full time now. I have to make it work."
"I think you will. Has there ever been a challenge that Marissa Orton hasn't made it through?"
"No…"
"Exactly, it won't be impossible. Plus, I think you're damn good at it already."
"Well that makes one of us."
"I trust you with this as much as I love you. Plus, I'll be right there with you for the ride."
"I couldn't have a better person there with me."
