WrestleMania 29: April 7, 2013

I was honestly exhausted after the Hall of Fame being last night, but WrestleMania was always one of my favorite times of the year. It was weird being backstage for WrestleMania tonight, knowing that I wasn't having a WrestleMania match for the first time in five years, since 2008, but nonetheless, I still felt the energy and was very excited.

I had been able to do a meet and greet a couple days ago at WrestleMania Axxess, which was my first time in ages interacting with fans. Last night, I had inducted Trish into the Hall of Fame, and it went flawlessly. She had also told me, before she went and announced it during her own speech, that she was also pregnant with a boy. I was glad to have a friend pregnant at the same time as me, and I figure that our sons might be having some playdates together eventually.

On top of that, all of my best friends were around for WrestleMania weekend, and I had been able to get in some much needed girl time. They were also going to be around for my upcoming baby shower next weekend, but after that, I wasn't probably going to see any of them again until after I had the baby.

I was sitting at my own table in Catering at the moment, eating my food. The preshow hadn't even started yet, and Colby and Randy's match was the first one on the main show. I had plenty of time to kill before then.

"Do you mind if I sit with you?" Someone asks.

I look over to see Renee. "Of course you can sit. How's it going?"

"Things are a bit overwhelming tonight to be honest." Renee says as she sits down next to me.

"The first WrestleMania is always overwhelming. I know what you mean."

"It's still cool to be working at WrestleMania though."

"Yeah, I feel weird about the fact that I'm not wrestling tonight."

"That's understandable. How many years has it been since you've not wrestled at WrestleMania?"

"Five years. I even wrestled twice in 2011."

"Wow, no wonder this is weird for you."

I shrug. "This is weird, but this baby is so worth it."

"That's true. Are you having a boy or a girl?"

"I'm having a boy. Randy and I both are ecstatic."

"That's good. I bet he's going to be one adorable little baby."

"Me too." I look over to see Colby approaching with Dean Ambrose beside him. "I guess my brother wants to talk."

Colby sits next to me. "Hey, sis, what's up?"

"What do you want?" I wave at Dean. "Hey, Dean."

Dean nods. "Hey."

Colby sighs. "I wanted to talk to you alone if you have a minute."

"I don't want to leave Renee sitting here all by herself." I hesitantly answer.

"It's fine." Renee comments. "Go handle your family business."

"I'll stay with her." Dean adds.

I give Dean an appreciative smile before looking back at Colby. "You can have a few minutes."

I follow Colby to a nearby hallway. "So what's going on?"

"Well, I figured I'd inform you that Kenny told me that Tyler and Lauren scheduled their baby shower at the exact same day and time as yours." Colby answers.

"Are you serious?" I roll my eyes. "Of course they did. I didn't invite them, but I feel like they knew about it."

"They did. Kenny told me that he mentioned it when he got invited. Tyler apparently told him that he didn't care."

"And he wonders why I'm not happy with him. I'll understand if you go to it."

"I didn't even get invited to it. I'll be at your baby shower, no doubt about it."

"Oh, well, I appreciate it. This is bullshit though. Isn't their due date a good period of time after mine?"

"Like a month from what I heard."

"They could've had it later than mine. Hell, mine is next Saturday. They could've even done it next Sunday."

"I agree. I just figured I'd tell you just in case it affects how many people are at yours."

"Well, I appreciate it. I'm gonna go. Will you tell Renee that I'll catch her later?"

"Sure, where are you going?"

"To tell Randy and then probably talk some shit."

"Oh okay. I'd tell you to tell him good luck tonight, but since we're facing each other, I'm not going to do that."

"I'm unbiased, but talking shit like that will get your ass kicked. See you later."

I open the locker-room to see Randy and John sitting and talking.

"Where's Michelle?" I ask as I close the door behind me.

"She just went to go get Catering a few minutes ago. She should be back." John answers.

"Oh, I just came back from there. I must've missed her."

Randy raised an eyebrow at me. "What's wrong?"

"Well, if you really want to know, Colby just told me that Kenny told him that Tyler and Lauren scheduled their baby shower for the exact same day and time as our baby shower."

"Those two seriously piss me off."

"You and me both. They could've easily chosen another day or time. They're shitty."

"I think that Lauren is definitely a narcissist."

"Tyler probably is too, and he has huge jealousy issues."

"I was thinking that but wasn't going to say anything since he's your brother."

I shrug. "I really don't care."

Randy stands up and pulls me close. "We'll still have a good baby shower though."

"I know. I'm just mad about it."

Michelle slowly walks in. "Did I miss something?"

"My brother is a jerk."

"Tyler? What'd he do this time?"

"He scheduled his baby shower for the same day and time as ours." Randy tells her.

"What the hell? That's not cool."

"No kidding. I need to sit down." I sit down on the couch.

Randy sits next to me and brushes some hair out of my face. "Things will be okay."

"I know. I just still don't understand what his issue is that would cause him to be like this."

"Like you said, jealousy issues."

I sigh. "I'm so over it."

"Me too." Randy kisses my forehead. "We've got plenty to be concerned about without worrying about his crap."

"You're right."

"I love you."

"I love you too."

John stands up. "We're gonna leave you two alone for a while."

Randy and I both nod as John and Michelle leave.

"Are you ready for your match tonight?" I ask Randy.

Randy held me close. "Yeah, I know you're being unbiased, but I plan on kicking Colby's ass in the ring tonight."

"That's between you two."

Randy smiled at me. "This is definitely one of the nights I miss you managing me though."

"I've never managed you at WrestleMania though."

"We should change that next year. At WrestleMania 30, you're gonna manage me no matter what match I'm having."

"Who says I'll be able to manage you next year?"

"You should be unless I've already gotten you pregnant again."

"Fair enough. Good luck tonight."

"Thanks, I'll need it while being around Big Show."

"I can help you relax after your match though." I wink at Randy.

"I wouldn't mind that at all." Randy kisses me.

I sat in my locker-room with my main group of friends, as well as Trish, to watch the match of Sheamus, Big Show, and Randy versus the Shield.

"This must make you feel weird." Trish comments to me. "It's your husband on one side, and your brother on the other."

I shrug. "It's a little weird, but at least I can be supportive no matter who wins."

"That's true."

"You're gonna have a baby in a few months." Maryse comments. "That's gotta be more exciting than being at WrestleMania."

I nod. "It is. This baby makes me so excited."

"Are you still debating on the first name?" Eve asks.

"Yeah, we haven't come to an agreement on that yet."

"This match is getting good." John comments.

We all went silent for a few minutes to watch the match.

"This is awfully good for an opening match." Chelle says, breaking the silence.

Ted nods in agreement. "Yeah, but are any of us surprised? Randy's an amazing wrestler."

"He's my favorite wrestler." I add.

Cody laughs. "You might be a little biased, Rissa."

"Maybe, but I think he's the greatest wrestler I've ever seen."

"If you tell him that, we'll never hear the end of it." John comments with a smirk.

"That makes me kinda want to tell him that."

"It'll be like you getting a magazine cover. He still brags about that."

"Good. I don't find the time for that. He can brag for me."

"I think the match is about over." Trish tells us all.

We all pause to keep our focus on the match.

Colby jumps off of the top rope, but Randy catches him with the RKO. However, Roman hits Randy with a Spear. Dean pins Randy.

1…2…3!

The Shield celebrates as they head out of the ring. Big Show and Randy are in the ring, arguing. Big Show looks at Sheamus, who is now in the corner of the ring, and lays him out with the WMD. Randy starts yelling at Big Show, but Big Show does the same to Randy.

I groan before standing up. "I'm going to go make sure Randy is alright. I'll see the rest of you guys later."

I quickly exit the locker-room and head towards the trainer's room, as I know Randy and Sheamus should end up there.

I pace around anxiously throughout the trainer's room, waiting for Randy to arrive. I finally spot Randy and Sheamus walking in with Colby following behind them.

I pull Randy into a hug. "Are you okay?"

Randy kisses my forehead. "I'm fine. Don't you worry about me. I'm okay."

I look up at him. "Are you sure?"

Randy nods as he keeps a grip on me. "I'm sure."

"I knew we shouldn't have trusted that asshole." Sheamus comments as the trainer starts checking on him.

"I couldn't agree more."

I look at Colby. "Congratulations."

Colby smiles. "Thanks, Rissa. How many years will it be until we both wrestle at WrestleMania?"

"Believe me, kid, it'll be sooner than later for sure. I like wrestling too much."

"Well, aren't you now one of the most accomplished women in wrestling? I think that says enough."

"It should. Wrestling is one of my favorite things in the world."

"But I'm clearly getting started on my undefeated WrestleMania streak already."

"Boy, you'll never be Undertaker's level. Plus, my WrestleMania win loss record isn't too bad. My only loss was in a Divas Battle Royal to Santino, and I still think he should be disqualified and scratched from the record."

"Only because he beat you." Randy muttered. "You like Santino."

"I should've won the Battle Royal though."

"If you say so."

The trainer starts checking on Randy. Sheamus and Colby still remain in the room and are talking to each other while I watch Randy.

Randy grabs my hand. "You need to stop worrying about me. I'm okay. I'll get Big Show back for this."

"I'll help, fella." Sheamus adds.

I give Randy a serious look. "I'll stop worrying when I get the opinion from the trainer."

I hear Colby give a small chuckle, but he doesn't say a word. Randy glances at Colby and rolls his eyes.

"Randy seems fine to me." The trainer tells me. "You should be all good."

I smile. "Thank you."

Randy looks at me. "I told you."

Sheamus looks at Randy. "So do you want to get him back tomorrow?"

Randy smirks. "Absolutely."

"So what now?" Colby asks.

"Well, I'm going to head back to my locker-room, and I assume that Rissa is joining me."

I take in a deep breath as I feel some cramps.

Randy gives me a concerned look. "Are you okay?"

I nod. "Yeah, I'm pretty sure this is just those…what are they called? Contractions that aren't labor contractions?"

"Braxton Hicks contractions." Colby answers.

"Yes, those. Thanks, Colby. I'm just gonna walk around in here a little bit, and they should stop."

Randy nods. "Okay."

I start walking around for a few minutes. Randy, Sheamus, and Colby are all still talking, but I can tell Randy is still watching me out of the corner of my eye. I have to stop walking as I feel another contraction. I groan as I go through it.

Randy gives me a panicked look. "Are you sure that's Braxton Hicks?"

"I'm starting to get a bit concerned about it myself." I froze for a moment. "My water just broke."

Randy grabs a wheelchair. "Shit, we've gotta get you to the hospital."

"We shouldn't take the bus to the hospital."

"I've got my car keys on me. I'll drive you." Colby offers.

Randy helps me into the wheelchair. "Please and thank you."

"Of course."

"I'll tell Vince what's going on, so neither of you get in trouble." Sheamus tells us. "I'll get your stuff and bring it to you at the hospital too."

"Thanks." Randy says as he wheels me out the door.

Randy looks at me as the doctor at the hospital is examining me to see whether they need to stop my labor or go ahead and deliver the baby. "You know that you're at least going to be stuck on bed rest now, right? Even if the baby isn't delivered today."

I nod. "I know. I'm fine with that. I just want to do whatever is best for the baby."

"I know that, Rissa. I'm sure you'll both be okay after this."

"Hopefully." I groan as I go through another contraction.

Randy grabs my hand. "It's okay, Rissa. It's okay. Breathe."

I give Randy a panicked look. I was feeling a lot of panic, worry, and fear right now. I feel tears in my eyes.

Randy kisses my forehead. "I'll be right here. I'm not going anywhere."

"Thank you." I whisper.

"I love you so much. So much."

I smile. "I love you too."

"We'll get through this. We always get through things."

"I hope that's the case."

"It will be. Okay? You'll be fine. Our son will be fine."

"Don't be saying that until we're certain, Randy."

"It's the truth though. You'll both be fine after this. You'll both get through this."

"I hope so. Is Colby in the waiting room?"

"Yeah, I've got him making a couple calls for us. Even if he wasn't doing that, I don't think he'd be going anywhere."

"I think he's probably my favorite sibling."

"That's completely understandable."

I grab onto Randy's hand as I feel another contraction. Randy gives me a worried look. While neither of us say anything about it, I can tell he's just as panicked, worried, and fearful as I am right now.

Randy looks at me. "You've got this."

Tears start rolling down my face. Randy brushes his thumbs across my cheeks. I had never felt as much fear as I did right now in my life. It wasn't for myself. It was for my son.

"We're delivering the baby now." The doctor tells us. "We're not holding off on your delivery."

I nod. "Okay."

I had to have my baby delivered via C-section, and as soon as he was born, the doctors were already taking him to the NICU. As soon as the baby was born and I was stitched up, the doctor who had decided to go through with delivering the baby was ready to explain things to me.

"We're going to keep you in the hospital at least for a week, but the baby will be here significantly longer due to how early he was born." The doctor explains. "You're going to need four days to recover from your C-section anyway, and I want to keep you longer to monitor your health to see if we can find a possible cause of your early labor. I honestly wouldn't have gone through with delivering the baby if your water hadn't broken. Hopefully, you should get to hold the baby sometime in the next few days, and we'll have him in here with you in an incubator if we can consider it safe for him as soon as we can. For now, we're going to get you on an IV, and I just think you should rest for now. You did a good job though. Congratulations on your bundle of joy."

I nod. "Thank you."

They put the IV in my arm before leaving me with Randy alone.

I look over at Randy. "What are we going to name him?"

Randy sighs. "Do you have any ideas? I've run out of ideas for baby names."

"We could name him after you."

"You said that you didn't want to do that."

"I still think it's weird, but I'm a bit more open to it now. I'm getting to have more say on the name of the next one if we have another baby though."

"Are you sure you're thinking clearly right now? You've got that IV."

"I'm certain. We'll name him after you as long as you still want that."

"I do." Randy kisses me. "Get some rest now, sweetheart. I'm gonna go get some food. I'll send Colby in here, so you're not alone."

"Thank you."
