Coven Fairy

"Kids, we're heading to the market now. Come on, let's get going before we have to hide from the law before we even get there." Eda called out.

"Oh boy, a new chance to promote advertising for the stand." Luz said.

"Don't forget me." King said.

"Can't, I've got other plans for the day." Kali said, coming down the stairs.

"Whoa Mama." Luz gasped.

Kali's usual attire, after having grown too small for her when she got her 'magical upgrades' to her figure, was replaced with a black deep v-neck tube top that looked a little too small on her, which made her chest pop even more with her Fairy Tail emblem completely visible, over a sleeveless mesh shirt. From the front it looked like one piece of clothing, but when she turned to the side, Luz and Eda saw that only the front was solid, and the back was comprised of three thick leather straps sewn into the fabric that hugged her upper back. Bellow, her thighs and ass grew a bit thicker and bigger in correspondence with her bust, something she noticed during her shopping spree with Mira, as her short shorts and leggings combo were replaced with a white skort over a pair of black leggings.

"Hot damn kid, where you running off to?" Eda asked.

"I happen to have a date." Kali smiled, grabbing her portable typewriter and putting it in her book bag. "An' it's honestly a little nerve-racking. I've never been on a date before."

"Well, you just be safe okay? An' if things get too fun, make sure you have proper protection." Eda smirked with a wink.

"Eda, it's not gonna come to that." Kali said with a blush, while throwing on a white long sleeved cropped jacket with zippers on the sleeves. "We're just collaborating on novel ideas over some drinks. It's not gonna escalate to us renting a hotel room for the night."

"You're right, it could escalate to you in his room, or him in your room as well." Eda said.

"This is not the type of behavior King should be listening to, or you should be talking about to your own granddaughter." Luz stated covering King's ears.

"Weh, what's going on? What are they talking about?" King questioned.

"Nothing you need to worry your sweet little head about." Luz said.

"Either way, enjoy your date kiddo. Just don't enjoy it too much." Eda said.

"I will." Kali said, putting her bag over her shoulder. "Try not to cause any chaos while I'm out."

"What about Sapphire?" Luz asked.

"She's a bit busy at the moment. Bat Queen needed her for something important, don't know what, but if the Bat Queen called on her, then it had to have been important." Kali said. "So, she's got the next couple days to herself, and I'm perfectly fine without her for a while."

"You got plenty of potions in case your curse acts up?" Eda asked.

"I got what I need. Don't forget though, it's Hooty's monthly cleaning, and I did it last time so it's up to one of you three to take care of his cleaning this time." Kali said.

"Oh come on, can't you just do it again?" Eda asked.

"Are you gonna pay me to clean Hooty after my date?" Kali inquired.

"Fine, just go and enjoy your date." Eda sighed.

"That's what I thought. Have fun at the market." Kali smiled in victory.

~Bonesborough~

"Now let's see. The cafe should be around here… Ah there it is." Kali said, getting up and heading to the Titan's Cafe. Entering through the gate, Kali smiled when she spotted Ed already waiting for her there.

"Kali, glad you made it." Ed smiled. "I hope the Cafe I chose wasn't too hard to find."

"Nah, I managed to find it eventually." Kali said. "So did you get started yet?"

"I came up with a couple ideas, but nothing of note I don't think." Ed stated.

"That's for me to decide." Kali smiled, taking Ed's notepad and looking it over. "The Adventures of Gale's Travels? The Chronicles of Tapeworm?"

"An' my personal favorite, the Dark Blight." Ed smiled.

"Okay, I'm gonna be brutally honest with you." Kali sighed. "A for effort, but these all suck. Like, really bad, in fact one of them sounds like a plagiarism of a novel from Luz's world called, Gullivers Travels. An' I'm pretty sure you're just biased about the last one because it has your family's name in it."

"Alright I see your point." Ed stated. "So what are we gonna do for a novel?"

Kali thought for a moment, before an idea popped into her head.

"How about we head to Earthland?" Kali suggested. "My name was cleared of all charges with the Magic Council, so I can officially take on jobs at my Guild again."

"Wait, you want to travel to Earthland, like to another realm?" Ed questioned.

"It's the realm I was born in, and so long as you don't have a curse like Eda's you'll be fine." Kali stated.

"But don't you have a curse like Eda's?"

"I do, but I'm the exception because I was born in Earthland." Kali smiled.

"Then I don't see why not, just gonna let Em know where I'm going so she can tell our parents. An' drinks are on me today." Ed stated, bringing out his Pinstagram.

"My, what a gentleman you are." Kali said teasingly before using her Portal Blade to open a passage to Earthland. "After you good sir."

"Thank you Madame." Ed smiled, walking through the portal, after leaving money for the drinks, plus tip.

Following Ed through the portal, Kali missed as someone zipped through the opening between realms, before it sealed off behind her.

~Bat Queen's Forest~

"Dear little one, I can sense your heart yearning for something. In your heart, you have an empty void you wish to fill, but have been unable to for so long." Bat Queen said, flying through her forest with Sapphire by her side, her babies nestled in her hair. "I sensed this yearning within you both times I went to the Owl House to drop off and pick up my little ones."

*"I have been feeling a need, that I have only been able to fulfill through caring for orphaned kittens. I am the only one of my kind, and I fear that it may come to be that way forever." Sapphire said.

"I know dear child, it hurts to feel that void." Bat Queen sighed, before she smiled. "But that is why I've brought you with me. Over the next few days, I am going give you what you've been dreaming about."

*"I do not know how to thank you Bat Queen." Sapphire said.

"There is no need to thank me." Bat Queen said, as they landed in front of a really large and thick tree. "This, is the oldest Palistrom Tree in the forest. The secret to what you desire, is in the sap it produces."

*"The sap?"

"Yes. For three days, you will drink your fill of the sap, as much as your belly can hold and what you desire, will come to be." Bat Queen explained with a soft smile as the tree began producing sap. "Go into that notch there, it is a cavern of wood, filled with a pool of sap. Drink from it for three days, and your desire will become reality."

Sapphire looked at the Bat Queen, before looking at the notch she was pointing to and flew up along the height of the tree. Perching herself on the rim of the notch, Sapphire crawled in and down along the walls on the inside, stopping just above the pool of sap, before she began to drink it, pleasantly surprised to find it had a sweet honey like taste instead of a bitter one.

*"Titan please, let this work." Sapphire prayed to the Titan.

~Earthland~

"So this is Earthland huh?" Ed smiled, looking around the shops. "Gotta say, I'm not disappointed in what I was expecting being wrong."

"What were you expecting?" Kali asked.

"A world filled with wild magic on the brink of chaos." Ed stated.

"Well you're half right. This world is filled with wild magic, but unlike the Coven System, Fiore and Earthland have the Guild System where those who join are considered full fledged Sorcerers, Wizards, and Mages, depending on the type of magic they use." Kali explained with a giggle. "Most people use multiple types of magic for every day life, similar to how magic is used in the Boiling Isles. But unlike the Coven System, the Magic Council doesn't require us to pick one type of magic, and seal the rest away with our Guild Marks."

"Then what do the Guild Marks signify?" Ed asked.

"That depends on the Guild you join. The Guild Sigil can signify a variety of things. For my Guild, which is Fairy Tail, the strongest Guild in the Kingdom, it signifies trust, friendship and familial bonds. Most guilds focus on power, and becoming the strongest, but Fairy Tail mainly focuses on a family dynamic, where everyone treats each other like family. Sure there are a few bad eggs in the guild, but that doesn't mean we aren't still family." Kali said. "An' the way we do things as family, is the reason why we've managed to make it to the top, and remain there, even through all our struggles."

"That's kinda awesome." Ed smiled. "So if you don't seal off the rest of your magic when joining a Guild, what happens to spells and magic that's taboo?"

"It's labeled as forbidden, and any use of it is a criminal offense." Kali said. "The Magic Council has to agree branding it forbidden magic first, which can sometimes take a while, depending on how fast they gather and discuss the magic of topic."

"How many council members are there?" Ed questioned.

"Nine, same as the number of the main Covens in the Boiling Isles." Kali said. "Well, there's supposed to be, but currently I think there's only six."

"What happened to the other three?"

"Well, one of them retired, his replacement hasn't been found yet. He's actually a good friend of my grandpa so I'm pretty close to him to. An' the other two were undercover terrorists who manipulated the Council into doing whatever they wanted." Kali said. "The other previous members had mostly retired and already had their replacements brought in. But I don't think the last three positions have been filled."

"Wow, talk about chaotic." Ed said, his mind blown.

"There's also another level of power directly bellow the Council, called the Ten Wizard Saints." Kali said. "When Eda was here, she'd been offered a position as #2 in their ranks, but she turned it down. My grandpa didn't turn his offer down though."

"What are the Ten Wizard Saints?" Ed asked.

"A title bestowed upon the ten strongest mages in the Kingdom of Fiore." Kali said.

"Whoa."

"Due to the atmosphere on Earthland, our Boiling Isles magic, is ten times stronger here then they normally are on the Boiling Isles." Kali smiled, enjoying the look of bewilderment on Ed's face. "Gramps theorizes it's because of the Ethernano in the atmosphere mixing and melding with the magic in our bile sacks connected to our hearts. My dad… came to that conclusion himself, another way."

"Hey, let's forget about that." Ed said, putting a comforting hand on Kali's shoulder.

"I'd like nothing more." Kali smiled, before they stopped at the newly rebuilt Guild Hall. "Well, here we are. This is the newly reconstructed Guildhall."

"Whoa, it's so big." Ed gasped. "This is some serious architecture and I cannot believe this is where you grew up."

"I know." Kali chuckled, grabbing Ed by his shirt before he could fall back from looking up too much. "Careful, I know it's impressive, but you're not a member of the Guild, so you won't be covered on the health insurance if you injure yourself."

"Right." Ed said, standing up straight.

"Alright, get ready to meet some wild people." Kali smiled, before pushing the doors open. "Whats up everyone? I'm back."

"Kali, good to see you're back." Natsu called out.

"Welcome back Kali." Erza smiled.

"It's great to see you again." Lucy said.

"Welcome back Kali, who's your friend?" Mira questioned.

"This is Ed."

"Oh, so this is the artist you told me about." Mira said with a giggle.

"What did she say about me?" Ed asked.

"Nothing much, just that you have, quite the imagination for your artwork." Mira smiled, making Ed blush. "Kali, the Master's at the bar."

"As usual." Kali sighed, before she caught a whiff of a certain scent. "Please do not tell me more then just Juvia is here."

"Now calm down Kali. Phantom Lord was disbanded, and Juvia was just worried about him." Mira said.

"That still doesn't excuse the bastard for what he did to me and Team Shadow Gear. Not to mention he's the one who destroyed the Guildhall in the first place" Kali stated.

"Kali I know you don't really like him, but please just give Gajeel a chance. The Master did, and he's made it clear he'll never truly forgive Gajeel for what he's done to the four of you, or our old Guildhall." Mira stated. "If I recall from what Juvia told the Master, you gave her a chance at Akane Resort."

"Because she offered to help with rescuing Erza." Kali said. "Whatever, Ed I'm gonna go get us a job to do. If you wanna join, you can register with Mira."

"Uh… right." Ed stated, as Kali stormed off. "What was that about?"

"Sorry you had to witness that." Mira sighed, walking off with Ed following her. "Kali doesn't really have a good relationship with former members of our disbanded rival Guild, Phantom Lord, after what they did to her, and the Guildhall some time ago. It was kind of a traumatic event that even landed Team Shadow Gear in the hospital."

"I see." Ed said.

"So what's your relationship with Kali?" Mira asked.

"Oh, we're collaborating on a novel together. We couldn't really think of any ideas for the premise of the book, so Kali came up with the idea for doing a job for inspiration." Ed explained. "I'm the illustrator, Kali's the writer."

"Oh that's nice." Mira smiled. "So all we gotta do to register you as an actual member is give you the guild mark."

"It's not gonna burn, right?" Ed asked, remembering what his dad told him about how it felt for his Coven Sigil to be given to him.

"Not at all, you're just gonna feel a bit of pressure as the magic sets in on your skin from the stamp." Mira chuckled. "Kali told me about the branding gloves with the Coven Sigils, so I understand why you'd ask."

"Oh, okay." Ed sighed in relief.

"Now where would you like it to be?"

"Wait, it doesn't just go on the underside of the forearm?"

"Nope, it can go wherever you want it to." Kali said, coming up next to him.

"Welcome back Kali." Mira smiled. "Find a job you wanted?"

"Yep. It's a good starter job for Ed and I to work on." Kali said.

"He told me about the dilemma with writing your novel." Mira smiled.

"So Ed, where would you like your Guild Sigil and in what color?" Kali inquired.

"I'll have it… right here." Ed said, pulling down the right sleeve of his shirt to expose his shoulder. "An' can I get it in neon blue?"

"Coming right up." Mira said, pushing the stamp into his shoulder.

Mira held the stamp in place for about a minute, before removing it to reveal the new mark on his shoulder.

"Sweet, my mom's gonna flip when she see's this." Ed smiled.

"Welcome to the guild young man."

Ed looked up and to his left to see Makarov sitting on the counter, holding a mug of ale in his hand.

"Oh Master, when did you move over here?" Mira asked.

"Master?" Ed asked.

"Just now, I thought I'd give our newest member a hearty welcome." Makarov smiled.

"Wait, this guys the Guild Master?" Ed asked.

"That he is." Kali chuckled. "He's also my grandpa."

"Your… I see, so your the Guild Master's granddaughter then." Ed said, suddenly feeling very nervous.

"No need to be anxious young man." Makarov smiled.

"If you're done with the pleasantries, we have to get going on the job." Kali said, getting up from her seat.

"What job did you take?" Mira questioned.

"We're taking the job for exploring ancient ruins discovered in the mountains. The archaeologists think it's better to send a couple of Wizards into the ruins first before exploring it themselves, mainly to deal with any booby traps." Kali said.

"Oh dear, Kali that's close to an S-Rank level mission, are you sure Ed will be able to handle it?" Mira inquired.

"I'll be fine." Ed stated.

"Kali, could you mind coming here for a second?" Jet questioned, coming up to the Clawthorne teen.

"Sure, I don't see why not." Kali said. "I'll be back in a sec Ed."

"No problem, I can wait here." Ed smiled.

Once Kali was gone, Ed froze when he felt a chill running up his spine as Makarov's aura seemed to change.

"Listen here you little punk." Makarov said. "I see the way you look at my granddaughter, and if you so much as think about doing anything inappropriate to her, or break her heart, then you will answer to me. Got it?"

"Y-Yes sir." Ed stated, shaking his head up and down in fear.

"Good." Makarov said, before his aura returned to normal as Kali came back. "Have fun on the job you two. But not too much fun."

"First Eda, now you Gramps?" Kali questioned with a sigh of annoyance. "Listen Ed, before we head out on the job, we gotta make a quick stop at Magnolia South Gate Park first. There's someone Team Shadow Gear and I need to confront."

"Alright." Ed said, sounding concerned.

"When we get there, I want you to promise me, not to do anything to make the situation worse then it will be. Don't intervene unless you feel you have to." Kali stated.

"What are you four gonna be doing?" Mira asked.

"We're gonna be facing, one of our demons." Kali sighed.

~Magnolia South Gate Park~

The air was thick with tension, so thick in fact you could cut it with a knife. Kali stood in the middle of the two men in Team Shadow Gear, while Levy and Ed were standing back by the tree, while in front of them was their attacker from the night before Kali tore apart the Magnolia Branch of the Phantom Lord Guildhall, Gajeel Redfox, better known as Black Steel Gajeel.

"So what's the deal? Why'd you ask me to meet you out here?" Gajeel questioned. "Make it fast, I gotta get to work."

"We got a bone to pick with you." Jet stated.

"After what you did to us, there's no way you're joining our guild." Droy exclaimed.

"As much as I agree with you two, it's not our decision." Kali stated. "Gramps has already notarized his membership, but that doesn't mean we have to like it."

"Come on guys, can't you just forgive and forget?" Gajeel questioned.

"So that's the guy Kali's got beef with from Phantom Lord?" Ed questioned Levy.

"She's got beef with the entire Phantom Lord Guild actually." Levy stated.

"Why?"

"The old Guildhall, was the only home Kali had ever known. It was where she was born, and where she first learned to used the Master's, Titan Magic. She was practically raised by everyone in the guild after her mother passed away, and her father and brother abused her." Levy explained. "So when they destroyed it, she probably held onto that hatred in her heart and hasn't let it go since. But you know, I think he might be right."

"Excuse me?" Kali questioned.

"I mean, now that he's in the Guild, it's unlikely he's ever gonna do any of that stuff he did to us again." Levy clarified.

"We gotta let him know." Jet stated.

"He can't mess with us." Droy finished, causing Gajeel to smile.

"The only real threat to me out of the three of you is the Master's granddaughter. An' since I'm a member of the Guild now, I don't plan on digging my grave any deeper." Gajeel stated.

"That's right, go ahead and act tough, while you still can." Jet stated, before charging at Gajeel and ramming into him.

Kali's gaze sharpened when she saw Gajeel take that hit. She knew from personal experience fighting him that the Iron Dragonslayer was much faster then the speed Jet hit him with, so why didn't he dodge the attack?

"Secret Seeds: Knuckle Plants." Droy called out, throwing several seed pods to the ground, which grew into a barrage of fists that struck Gajeel all over his body as he picked himself up from Droy's attack.

'Again, he just stood there and took the hits. Droy used the same move on him in our battle that night, but Gajeel was able to dodge it without a problem. So why is he just… letting them beat him to the ground!' Kali thought.

"Falcon Heaven Sword." Jet cried out, slamming a kick into Gajeel's chest, and sending him sliding back in a three point stance. "Kali, your turn. Get a little payback on this jackass. Teach him a lesson for what he's done."

"Show him what for." Droy stated.

"Hold on." Kali said, stepping up to them. "Gajeel, you're taking these attacks head on, on purpose aren't you?"

"What are you talking about Kali?" Droy questioned.

"It's obvious he's stronger then he was when he attacked us that night, far stronger then either of you have gotten since then as well." Kali said. "But he's not fighting back, because he wants to make amends, isn't that right Gajeel?"

Gajeel just looked at Kali as he picked himself up, before he snickered and pushed himself to his feet.

"You could tell huh?"

"I'm not stupid." Kali stated. "Jet and Droy both used those same attacks the night we fought when you were still with Phantom Lord, and they didn't even scratch you. You're letting them wail on you, as a means of atonement for what you did to them, aren't you?"

Before Gajeel could answer, someone spoke up surprising Kali as well as Jet and Droy, as he walked past Ed and Levy. He had spiky blonde hair, and lightning shaped scar over his right eye, and wore a black coat over a purple shirt, with spiked headphones on his ears.

"You're not giving the new guy a hard time, are ya?" Laxus questioned. "But seeing as this is the punk who tore down our Guildhall, I understand how you feel. I bet the only reason the old geezer let you join the guild was because he was scared of you wrecking the place again."

"Who's that?" Ed questioned.

"That's Laxus, Kali's older brother." Levy said.

"Laxus, I thought you were off with the Thunder Legion on another job." Kali said.

"I was on my way to meet up with them when I heard you were back in town, little sis. Guess your name was cleared for that, good for you." Laxus said, stepping up to her, and looking her dead in the eye before his expression became one of hatred. "But it doesn't exonerate you of the crime of murdering our mother you little parasite."

Right after saying that, Laxus hit Kali with a knee to the jaw, lifting her off the ground and sending her through the air, before she landed flat on her back on the ground in front of Gajeel who was instantly at her side.

"Kali." Ed called out, Levy stopping him before he could run to Kali's side.

"No don't. You'll only make it worse." Levy stated.

"We've become the laughing stock of the magic community, because of the both of you." Laxus stated, veins bulging on his face and neck. "On my way back from my last job, I stopped at some pubs and I heard some things that really pissed me off. Everybody is talking about how weak the Fairy Tail Guild is now, especially since Master Makarov's granddaughter was so easily captured by Phantom Lord's Dragonslayer. No one dared to say that about us before you came along Blacksteel." He exclaimed angrily with lightning sparking around him, before a ray of lightning came down from the sky, hitting both Gajeel and Kali.

While the lightning did no damage to Kali, Gajeel was in agony as the electricity coursing through him was intensified by all the metal piercings in his body.

"Now, you're both gonna pay." Laxus said, slamming his fist into the ground, sending a buzz saw of electricity at the two slayers, before it slammed into them and dragged them around the park and into one of the smaller trees.

"Stop this." Ed shouted, running past Jet and Droy. "That's your own sister you're hurting. I get why you'd be mad at Gajeel, but Kali is your flesh and blood. Your family." He stated.

"Huh? Who the hell are you to tell me who my family is?" Laxus questioned turning to glare at him. "Kali is not my sister. Because of her, my mother is dead. She's the one responsible for killing her, and I'm just making sure she knows that she'll never be forgiven for what she's done. My father was too lenient on his experiments with her, and should have just ended her from the very beginning, no muss no fuss."

"How can you say that about Kali?" Ed questioned. "She's not responsible for killing your mother. Death in childbirth is something that happens. You're a monster if you think that Kali's the one responsible for that."

"Don't you dare tell me, how to treat the one who murdered my mother." Laxus growled, throwing a punch at Ed, with what looked like a lethal amount of lightning enveloping his fist.

In a puff of blue smoke, Ed disappeared when Laxus's fist made contact with him. The blonde looked up and glared between Jet and Droy to see Ed putting his arms down.

"An illusion." Laxus growled. "A weakling who relies on illusions to face the danger for him, has no right to be in my Guild." He declared, firing off a powerful bolt of lightning at Ed and Levy's location.

Milliseconds before the lightning reached them, something came between the two mages and the lethal attack, before the strike was taken head on, creating a flash of light.

When the light died down, Ed gasped when he saw it was Gajeel, with his arm transformed into a club and red hot, almost white hot, with the heat from the electricity striking it.

"Gajeel." Levy gasped.

"You through with me now? 'Cause I got other things to do." Gajeel stated, his body shaking in pain before he made his way to the park exit.

Laxus just stood there, with an unamused look on his face as he just watched Gajeel leave the park.

"Um, Gajeel I…"

"Leave me alone." Gajeel said, interrupting what Levy was trying to say.

Laxus just glared at Gajeel, before he let out a sound of annoyance and walked away, stomping on Kali's head one last time as he passed her before leaving through another entrance in the park.

"Kali." Ed called out, running to her side as Kali pushed herself up to her hands and knees, spitting out some blood. "Kali why didn't you fight back?"

"What would have been the point?" Kali questioned, her fist clenched in annoyance as tears ran down her cheeks. "He's too strong for me to fight. I've never been able to beat him, and each time I've tried fighting him, I end up in the infirmary for at least a weak, because he fights to kill. He's an S-Class Wizard, while I'm nothing more then an A-Class. Every time the S-Class trials come around I end up facing off against him, and every time he beats me to near death. I've never been able to beat him, and I never will."

"Come on. Let's get you to the guild's infirmary. Master will want to hear about this." Jet said, picking Kali up with one of her arms over his shoulder.

As they walked back to the Guild, Ed had more of an understanding of Kali's family situation now, then he did before when she chewed him and Em out, for what they were gonna do with Amity's diary. He saw the pain in her eyes, and heard it in her voice. There was nothing he could have done, besides make an illusion of himself to confront Laxus. If he was gonna continue being a member of the guild, that had to change.

~Bat Queen's Forest~

The Bat Queen sat under the Palistrom Tree, waiting for Sapphire to finish while making sure her babies were sleeping. She knew from personal experience that this task wouldn't be easy for the smaller Palisman, but knew the results were well worth it. It wasn't too much longer until Sapphire came flying down from the notch in the tree, surprising the Bat Queen as it looked like Sapphire's stomach was extremely bloated, and upon landing, pressed out to the sides as it was pressed against the ground.

"My, my, my." Bat Queen smiled. "Maybe you will not need the other two days. You look quite stuffed with sap already."

*"I feel stuffed. But if this will help me fulfill my desire, then I will gladly do this again." Sapphire said.

"That won't be necessary." Bat Queen said. "You've taken in more then enough sap to fulfill your desire. You may return to the Owl House."

*"What will the sap do?"

"Patience little one. You will know in time." Bat Queen said. "For now, you must return home and rest."

~Kali & Ed~

"Geeze, what the hell is his problem?" Ed questioned, pacing around the Guildhall with anger on his face.

"I don't like it either, but that's just how Laxus treats Kali." Erza said. "He's treated her like that since she was old enough to walk."

"All because he blames her for something that wasn't her fault?"

"He doesn't see it that way. Laxus honestly sees Kali as the cause of their mother's death." Macao stated. "He sees Kali as a parasite, something to kill, but since he can't do that without being arrested for murder, he tortures her and usually beats her to near death instead."

"He's even gone so far as to disown her as his sister." Natsu stated.

"That's just unfair and uncalled for." Lucy stated. "Why doesn't she fight back? With her Dragonslayer magic, and her Wild magic from the Boiling Isles, she's gotta be stronger then him."

"Except she doesn't believe that to be the case." Erza sighed.

"What do you mean?" Ed asked.

"Kali is far stronger the Laxus, that is undoubtedly true." Macao said. "But whenever she gets in a conflict with him, she subconsciously limits herself to being weaker then him. Her mental barriers she's put up, are holding her back because he'd abuse her alongside their father when she was little. They even traumatized her mentally by telling her she'd never be stronger then them, and would always remain weak. She has PTSD from her childhood, and it's effecting her progress forward in the Guild."

"She should be S-Class by now, but somehow Laxus always manages to make himself her opponent." Grey stated. "She says she doesn't seek him out every trial, but I think she subconsciously does, wanting to use the chance to prove her strength to him."

"But still, it's not right how he treats her." Ed stated.

"I appreciate your concern everyone."

The group looked back behind Ed, with the Blight brother turning around, to see Kali standing there, her wounds patched up with Mira standing behind her.

"But I'm fine, this is just how it is between me and Laxus. Always has been, always will be." Kali said. "At least I got an idea to start off mine and Ed's novel."

"Kali are you sure you'll be okay with going on this job with those injuries?" Erza asked, concern clear in her voice. "You don't have Sapphire with you, in case something goes wrong."

"Like my curse acting up?"

"That, but we're also talking about your mental state. You always get a bit frazzled when you have a run in with Laxus, and you get depressed for a couple days afterwards, and Sapphire's usually there to make sure nothing goes wrong." Natsu said. "But she's not this time."

"I'll be fine. I appreciate everyone's concern for me, I do but I'll be okay. Come on Ed let's get going." Kali said with a smile as she left for the door.

"Hey Blight." Grey said, grabbing Ed's attention. "You heard what Natsu said right?" Ed simply nodded. "Then you know what I'm about to ask you right?"

"I'll keep a close eye on her, don't worry." Ed stated.

"We're trusting you to keep her safe." Macao said.

"I'll be sure she comes back to everyone, you have my word." Ed nodded. "An' a Blight always keeps their word."
