Pokemon 01

Sitting on the front step of the center, I stared at the capsule in my hand unsure of how I felt about everything. It was all so very surreal, but I had gone through the motions by pinching myself and slapping my face to see if this all might just be a dream. Yet, I discovered that it was none of that, and yes, this was indeed my new reality.
With a grunt, I got up and pushed down my feelings of unease before giving my Pokeball a light toss. There was a burst of light and a squeak of *Ralts* I gave my jeans a light tug as I went into a crouch, happy my knees didn't go snap, crackle, and pop.
"Hey, baby girl," I spoke while offering the little psychic fairy Pokemon my hand to sniff. The little Ralts sniffed at my hand, then leaned in as I gave her some head pats. The ROB that sent me here didn't skimp on the important things as I pulled out my smartphone turned pokedex combo.
*Ralts - The Psychic Pokemon - A Ralts has the power to sense the emotions of people with the horn on its head.*
Blinking, I looked down at my Pokedex as I put together the fact that Fairy type hadn't been discovered yet. This was beyond fucking huge, and I couldn't help that I was seeing poke dollar signs. With a sigh and a shake of my head, I decided to stop those thoughts. It was clear that ROB was looking out for me since I was given a pokemon capable of mega-evolution. Ralts was going to clearly going to be my Ace Pokemon.
What worried me was the knowledge I was given about being an Aura Guardian. ROB had included foundational knowledge along with some of the very high-level things I would be capable of later. It also doesn't help that I knew there would be other Pokemon trainers around that could also use aura. Honestly, I wasn't looking forward to running into a team rocket grunt capable of throwing Pokemon moves at me. Or the real high-level trainers that combined both forms of battle, I had noticed those on Pokenet.
If I was being honest, that shit took things to the absolute next fucking level and changed the dynamics of reality by a huge margin. I wouldn't call the Pokemon world a death world but it was damn near close if you were being a moron about things. With a grimace, I smiled and gave Ralts a treat while thinking about my Aura spear that was inside of my poke-bag.
For my Aura weapon, ROB thought that he was being funny by giving me a weapon that had a massive fucking learning curve. The bastard had given me Prince Nuada's spear from Hellboy 2. It was in a compact form and looked like a simple stick, but run a little aura through it, and it extended like a staff and pushed more or changed the intent and the blade comes out.
I could only view this as not only being expected to fight, but also being able to defend myself because things were going to get really real whether I wanted it to or not. A grimace flashed across my face as memories not my own flashed through my mind. Aura users throwing out protect, rock slide, even a fucking thunder punch. Things were going to go from zero to one hundred real quick if I wasn't careful.
Picking her up, I gave her a proper rub all over as I headed for the pokemart. Things were still early and from the things I found on myself, the ROB had been nice enough to transfer and convert my money to the poke-dollars system along with all the other important things that people gathered over their lives. I also reverted to my early 20's, my drivers licenses and my weapons license.
From what I had gathered when I woke up, I was a poor kid who grew up doing odd jobs and saving till I finished basic schooling. This was because I wasn't in any position to get sponsored, even though the pokemon league paid for a lot of my survival. They only paid for room and board, and after 16, it was up to me to feed and dress myself because they were slowly lowering the amount of funds they provided.
Granted, I had no issues with any of that because a man had to take his own future within his hands, but I was certain that would have been different if I had been here for it all.
Those thoughts aside, I bought myself ten Pokeballs, some Pokemon food, and half my money on those tents with dimensional storage. The games made it look easy, but a proper trainer tent was nearly one grand, but it would be well worth it. Especially since they had Harry Potter- like expanded spaces.
As I made my way towards route 29, I tried not to feel the hole in my pocket since I had barely over two thousand Pokedollars left. I would survive and make myself strong as I strive in this world.
And the way forward was to make my little starter into an absolute fucking unit. The ROB had given me a chance, and I would not fail here. I found a nice little clearing to set up camp, and that was just what I did while I let Ralts explore the area. When my camp finally finished, I pulled out my axe and chopped down a tree. Half got turned into firewood because I wanted to save alot of my fuel, and the other half was turned into training equipment.
I knew that Ralts would evolve into a beast, but the little girl was still slow and lumbering because of her short legs. The only way to fix that was to work on her other strengths. I would have Ralts do something like pushes with her psychic-type moves, along with log flips and log carry.
I needed 8 badges to be open for Pokémon Rangers and the same if I wanted to be considered an Ace-Trainer. Even just having what's considered an elite Pokémon would open many doors for me. For now, those worries could wait for later as I went up and down, up and down performing squats while trying to figure out which flying type I would want for my team. I needed a flying type that not only had speed, but also got large enough to be ridden like a mount.
Even though the Fearow line could learn hyper beam, I thought those Pokemon were too ugly and looked too much like a rejected vulture for my taste. Pidgeots didn't pack the same type of power, but with the right training, I knew that they got freaking huge. As a matter of fact, speaking of huge birds, what If I got my hands on Lugia? If memory serves, it spoke in the movie, which means I could reason with it, him or her.
I grimaced at that, maybe it would be easier to just get a Bagon, Salamence was a flying dragon mount type after all. Then I cringed, I would need to be careful because they were not effective against Fairy types. Yet, the Fairy types could absolutely whoop their dragon asses. Maybe I should settle for a Metagross since they had none of those issues but were also basically super-computers. Shit, I would also need to get my hands on a Porygon, and protect any research I might perform from Team Rocket or any of the other assholes.
My legs burned but that was ignored as I went over my options again and again, I couldn't be on my feet for all of my journey, and if I wanted to be a Pokemon ranger, I would need transportation. I would also need to catch a Larvatar so I could get to its final evolution line, the infamous Tyrant, Tyranitar.
Again, I went up and down, up and down, as the burn in my legs was ignored. I was currently in Jhoto, a few miles from the starter town. If I wanted to do any of those, I needed at least 3 badges to be able to fly around anywhere, along with a Pokemon mount.
I had read everything I could get my hands on when I turned on my poke-phone just to double check on all the things ROB had put inside of my mind.
My exercise was interrupted by a crash off to the side, and when I turned to look, I found white feet-like things with a Pokemon with a big brown head. From what I could see, the water I had gathered from the spring nearby was knocked over. From the looks of things, the Teddiursa decided to walk into my camp in search of food. Rolling my eyes, I pulled out my Pokedex.
*Teddiursa - Little Bear Pokemon - When it finds honey, its crescent mark glows. It is always licking its paws because they are soaked with honey.*
Blinking, I looked down at my Pokedex as I remembered all that normal types were capable of. Yeah, I could call this a great start to my journey. I had no goals to be a pokemon master, but nothing said I couldnt become a fucking powerhouse. Ignoring my legs, I forced myself to walk over and tipped the pot I had sitting to the side back onto its bottom. Teddiursa instantly was rolled back into the center of the pot, and before the little mon could complain, I scooped him out with one hand. I then tipped the pot the rest of the other way.
I couldn't figure out what it was, but I felt something when I carried the Teddi under my arm as I cleaned up the mess. Ralts stopped her little training with levitating logs to come over, but I was fine with that. He was still a first evolution anyway and could be classified as a baby Pokemon. Sitting him down next to her, I then went about making a light meal. Nothing with a scent that could carry to attract wild Pokemon, but some warm kibble with sliced berries was more than perfect for all of us.
I had basic repels around my camp, but I had checked the charges on the things and found that they would need to be connected to a solar charger for some time. Plus, it wasn't like I had any electrical Pokemon or generator type to keep them going during the day. I was at least hoping to let the things charge before nightfall so I could sleep without issues.
While the two ate, I thought about what I would do next as I rolled an empty pokeball between my hands. Teddiursa had fallen into my lap, and it would be foolish to waste such an opportunity, yet why couldn't I just throw the ball? It was like something in the back of my mind was telling me no, this wasn't the way.
There was no hiding the fact that I loved pokemon, I grew up on the show before I could even figure out the difference between anime and cartoons. The show was a staple of my Saturday morning cartoons and existed for so long that I had damn near every game made by Nintendo. Yet, as I sat here in the world, I couldn't force myself to throw the ball and just capture the Ralts.
This frustrated me because it was one of those things I found stupid in the show. I get that the power of friendship went brr and all that, but a pokemon was in front, and I wanted him. I could only huff at the unfair thoughts.
Giving them a chance to both eat, I used that time to calm myself down as I waited.
Once they were finished, I picked up Ralts by the name of her neck and placed her in my lap as I gave the companion pokemon scratches. "Hey, Teddiursa, I have a question for you."
The cute little mon tilted his head to the side, "Teddi?"
I held out the Pokeball, "I would like you to join my team."
The little Teddiursa looked from me, then towards the Ralts in my lap before looking at the meal it had just ate. "Teddi?" It questioned as he probed at his stomach.
I smiled at him and gave a nod of my head, "Yeah, I have plenty you can eat."
The little Teddiursa smiled up at me before nodding its head and pressing a hand against my Pokeball.
Instantly he was snatched up by the red light; the ball beeped in my hand once before Teddiursa was captured. With a chuckle at the good fortune that fell into my lap. I pressed the center control button and released him back out into the world with a flash of light.
Sitting down, I placed Ralts on one leg and Teddi on the other. A nudge at the back of my mind pulled me out of my thoughts. Smiling down at the two, I tossed my useless thoughts aside as I put my plans into motion. Letting Teddiursa finish off the pot, I went back to having Ralts levitate logs, while I settled into meditation.
ROB made me an aura guardian in an even crazier world of Pokemon, so I would step up to the challenge. Pulling out my staff spear thing, I meditated, I was new to things but the aura was from the soul which made it part of me. I would find my aura and bring it to the fore; Ralts was psychic, so I would attune myself to that; I would worry about fairy types and normal types later.
Right now, I needed to move the stupid leaf off my backpack.
I smiled as Teddiursa went and tried to pick up a log, Ralts already had hers at least five inches off the ground. I was more than happy with her show of powers even if I knew she could do far better. Turning back towards my own practice, I focused on the leaf.
Wiggle, you stupid leaf…
Wiggle, you stupid leaf…
Wiggle, you stupid leaf…
I sat there with laser-sharp focus on the leaf for who knows how long, it was the nudge from my side that had finally broken me out of it. With a blink, I turned to check on things and found that the sun was already setting.
Well, damn, that's not good.
With a shake of my head and a sigh, I got up and double-checked my camp for anything that might put me out. And this time, I activated the repel system since the emitters had gotten a full charge from the sun. It took me a bit, but once I was finished, I sat against a log next to my tent while checking the pokenet.
When I brought up this world's version of Youtube, I noticed the notification of a Rangers battle. Yet, the title was Dragon Master Lance demolish poachers. Selecting the video, I watched with wide eyes as Lance jumped off his Dragonite's back as his beast of a Pokemon used protect to stop no less than three hyperbeams all aimed at him. Lance had jumped nice and high with an aura-boosted jump; fI could tell from the dark blue gathered around his legs. I then noticed the same thing gathered around his mouth before he opened up and unleashed a roaring dragon's breath across the backline.
The roar of the dragon's breath took out not only the trainers with weak aura, but also their Pokemon. Then his Dragonite landed and opened up with thunder. The blast tore everything up around Lance and his Dragonite. It was absolute destruction, no other way to describe what happened. That was beyond fucking insane, and fear traveled up my spine more and more as I went and looked at his combat record and the things Lance did during his run of the Elite Four.
The only one to have survived was still half charred with a hand-held before him, his aura fueling protect. Swiping that away, I went looking for more videos of Lance just being an all-around badass.
I even found a video of him dodging Agatha's shadow ball right from his own shadow. Pryce fired ice beam after ice beam, but Lance just countered those with his own hyper beams. His Pokemon fought with ferocity as they swapped in and out between attacks, and I noticed how it was all-out combat, barely any defence. And when there were defenses, Lance used crazy well-placed applications of protect. The man was an insane full battle combatant, but it wasnt just him. All of the Elite Four were at that crazy level, hell, most of the Ace trainers were all so.
I sighed as I looked down at the Ralts dozing in my lap; we would need to get to that level. For now, though, we were just a trainer and his Ralts. With a swipe, I changed things away from Dragon Master Lance and brought up ways to train simple psychic-type moves.
Settling in for the night, I did a little more training before I went to bed. Because I was a little paranoid, I plugged my phone into the little extended backup battery.
3 Days…..
It took me three hard days of meditation and focus before I was able to move the damn leaf. And yeah, I was the one to move it as I felt the drain from doing such a task. From there all it took was replication and feeling for that energy inside of myself.
Once I found my inner aura, things kicked into high gear. Okay, I didn't suddenly start throwing around crazy Pokemon moves as Lance did in that poketube. What I did learn to do was move that fucking leaf seven tries out of ten. I had a little celebration with my Pokemon's and went back to training. Teddiursa was given a rope strap pack with logs to run around with on his back.
At first, the little guy couldn't do it, but after the third break, he got down on all fours and made major progress. Ralts was doing another training when I found uno cards in my bag. I still had her stacking logs, but she also offset that by building card houses. I wanted Ralts to not only build strong psychic power but also intricate control.
Sitting on a stump of a tree I had cut down, I glared at the three pebbles in my open palm. Flicker of green wrapped around them for a moment, then winked out. Instead of getting angry, I got a funny idea to just roll them around in my hand. Roll and roll and roll before just doing the same with my mind. It was my hand, my energy, my powers and all i had to do was just roll the rocks.
With nice even breathing, I looked down and opened my hands to witness the rocks circle around my palm. I wanted to jump for joy and shout in excitement, but I didn't. This was but the first step on the long road before me.
With my camp packed up, I walked back along the path I took to get there while Ralts Perched on one shoulder and Teddiursa chilled in his Pokeball. In my hand though was my cellphone turned transceiver pokedex combo as I looked through everything. My apps were swapped out, but what really made me forgive the ROB was seeing all my music. None of it was tainted by Pokémon rap, thank all that was holy.
The other thing that allowed me to forgive the ROB was my dsmue app with both copies of soul silver and Pokémon Emerald. I'll be honest; discovering that was mehh since I didn't have x or y nor any of the fancy new games, but what I did have which was the holy fucking grail was a completed copy of the national full pokedex inside the damn folder.
My hands shook, and my heart raced as I opened the pdf to discover well over a thousand pages ranging from types to evolutions to route locations of Pokémon. I nearly wanted to cry because if I added that to my show knowledge, I just might make it.
It gave me badge and gym locations, but I had to dismiss the Pokémon and only keep the knowledge of the types. I wouldn't want to show up expecting Pidgey only to face Fearow.
My fingers flicked as maps came up and slid to the side, routes appeared along with the Pokémon you might find. A TM called secret power caught my attention, and I had to stop on the route, half a ear listened out as my fingers swiped and scrolled.
If this was a thing in reality, I just might not have to spend alot on getting a place. With a swipe, I had my notepad out and with a quick copy and paste, I left myself a note to check that out on the pokenet. Actually, I also left myself a note to be careful on the pokenet and maybe look into getting a Porygon. I knew the depravity of what we got up to on earth and dint want to jump down that rabbit hole here.
The internet looked tame, but I knew rule34, and it's more than obvious that a few in the Pokémon fan club loved their mons a little too much. I shuddered at the thought, but it was Ralts who gave me a better distraction.
My girl smacked me twice on the cheek while pointing at something in the distance. There was a small tickle in the back of my mind as she tried to push what it was. I got the impression that she smelled something good. I looked at where she was pointing and then looked at the path itself. I looked at the path, then looked off towards where Ralts was pointed.
With my mind made up, I pulled out my phone, left a waypoint, then used my pocket knife to scarr up the back of the tree. Happy with that, I pulled my mini staff spear thing off my back. I still couldn't use the thing to it's full potential yet, but a club was a club was a club and I could still smack bitches with it if I had to.
So like the great saying said, nothing ventured, nothing gain. I took my first steps off the beaten path and onto adventure.
Walking with careful steps, I walked with my head on a swivel and ears opened. After a hundred feet or so, Ralts gave me a tap then pointed towards another direction. As I followed the directions given, the tension within my shoulders slowly worked itself out as I relaxed into a nice even pace. I hadn't dropped my guard, but I was enjoying myself a lot more due to the nature around me.
*RALTS!*
I stopped in my tracks as my little mon tapped the side of my face forcing me to stop walking. While she sniffed the air, I looked around and found nothing she was going for, but I did hear some buzzing. My stomach dropped because I only knew of one kind of bee, and that list was wholly different when you were in the Pokemon world.
*ZAP!*
My legs moved, and I found myself behind a tree looking around. There was another zap, and I followed the flash of light. What I found almost had me chuckle if it wasn't wild Pokémon doing wild Pokémon things. There was a Pikachu guarding the trunk of a tree against what looked like a swarm of beedrils.
Pulling out my binoculars, I was able to get a better idea of what was happening. There was another Pikachu inside of the trunk but it didn't look like it was doing that hot. A group of Pikachu's were there, but those were clearly baby Pokémon.
*zap*
Another massive bolt ripped outwards, striking two more of the beedrils but that was it. I watched the one-sided fight happen as the beedrils launched tein missiles and other attacks. With a grimace, I turned around, yeah fuck that shit, I wasn't Ash.
There was a call of *CHUUUU!* as the Pokémon fought for it's life against the attacking swarm of bug types. I turned and walked away, never looking back.
Well, I tried to; turns out my Ralts didn't have self-preservation and was alot of fire to defend the weak than I had. I was not some damn white knight, I could admit my faults were manny.
*Ralts* she called with a smack on the side of my head. When I turned to give her a glare, I found a branch floating, her psychic energy wrapped around the thing.
My eyes narrowed at her, "Don't…"
Ralts gave me that sickly sweet innocent smile, then flexed the tree branch.
Author Note's :::: Okay, I couldn't help myself, pokemon has been on the brain for some time now, but I took it and kicked it way up a notch.
In this, aura isn't some little secret that only the noble families know how to use. Everyone knows about aura, but being able to use it in combat will separate you from the regular trainers and those of the Elites. Most of the kid trainers only know things like gust or sand attack, maybe quick attack. The basic stuff really, but its the Elites you have to be careful of in the wild. In a tournament, you can sight up for what is called full combat which means you step onto the field along with your Pokemon.
Yet, all that changes in the wild though because there are no rules in the wild. There will be death in this but I'm still not sure how I want to deal with Pokemon death, because yes, they can also die.
Yes there will be mega evolution in the wilds and im still thinking on how to make those permanent. Along with me shifting gigantamax transformations into legendary prime versions of Pokemons.
Who wouldn't want a legendary Charizard!
Now, along with my general pokemon knowledge, I've also been looking into the world and something keeps coming back about how massive the place is, so im also thinking about introducing lost tribes because apricorn balls are a thing.
