Out in a grove of oddly beautiful red trees, the broken moon shinned overhead in its full glory as bright gorgeous neon blue flames broke through the dark beneath the branches of the forest. A roar broke the silence, causing any wildlife nearby to scatter as creatures made of a black mass with splotches of white adorned their bodies like armor ran between the trunks, with some breaking along the way in an attempt to get to their prey. Then they were either cut down or burned to ash in the wake of the flames.

In the middle of the flames was a teenage boy his immediate features were two blue flames jutting out of his head as if they were horns with a flaming tail waving wildly behind him with long pointed ears. In the white-haired boy's hand was a sword in which the blade seemed to be composed of condensed blue fire, with the guard being crafted out of a type of metal and the hilt being wrapped out of dark blue material, and the end of the sword having a rope coming out of it. The boy wore what seemed to be a sort of black combat suit wearing black fingerless gloves and black combat boots. His voice raised above the beasts' roars and toward his companion, "Kuro! We need to get out of here!"

A gigantic black twin-tailed cat with yellowish horns on its head responded by grabbing the boy by the back of his shirt, throwing him onto its back, and starting to run and calling back to the boy, "Ok, Rin, but where should we go?" The now-named boy Rin responded, "I don't know, but we can't stay here!" Suddenly out of nowhere, winds started being forced down upon them, making Rin look up, seeing what seemed to be a mix of a helicopter and a plane lowering itself toward them as a hatch in the back opened up with a voice calling out, "Get in quick!" without questioning it the cat named Kuro jumped into the helicopter plane hybrid turning itself small to fit into it properly.

Rin sheathed his sword into a dark blue ornament sheath, the flames on his body and tail dying down, his ears becoming much shorter. He looks up to face the one who had come to his rescue and sees a blonde woman with hair braided into a spiral on her right side. Behind her glasses were emerald green eyes, and she wore a white top with a black skirt reaching down to the middle of her thighs, stockings underneath with almost knee-high high heels, and a black cape with purple in the middle. She held what seemed to be a glass tablet in her left hand, and in her right was a riding crop. She was facing the open hatch raising her weapon of choice, and a glyph appeared before her blocking whatever monster tried to get in before sending whatever she could, sending them further back and closing the hatch.

She turned to look at Rin and then asked him a question, "What is a boy your age doing out so late at night in Forever Falls fighting Grimm? Rin looked at her, confused as if he had never heard those words. He stood up, dusting off his knees, and answered, "I Rin Okumura, mam. Though I have to ask, is that what thing is called? Grimm?" The woman then looked at the boy in front of her with an annoyed expression and was about to give him an earful before looking at his uniform and couldn't figure out what school he went to. "What school do you even go to?" She had asked as she looked down at the glass tablet typing something on it. "True Cross Academy." Rin had said, then seeing her annoyed look give way to confusion before quickly reverting. The woman sighed, "I don't remember any school going by that name." This time it was Rin's turn to look incredibly confused, then remembered that he had seen the broken moon when he had first woken in the Forever Falls forest. The sudden realization caused him to fall back onto his butt, with Kuro immediately rushing to ensure he was okay. "I don't think I'm in the same world anymore."
