The following story takes place during the beginning of October in Sophomore year.
CHAPTER 1
GOING THOUGH CHANNELS
Flashback: Four weeks before Halloween.
There is a group of three people, all three of them coming into one of the classrooms of "Gravity Falls High School". One of them has a red t shirt, vest, and a cap with a pine tree. Another in a magenta sweater with jeans on and long autumn brown hair. And the last person he is in jeans but has a graphic T-Shirt on which is on the film musical as it shows the main character a teen girl with long autumn brown hair armed with a Candy Cane spear who is stabbing one of the zombies in the head, part of a horde converging on her while the city with a big Christmas tree is burning behind her.
Each of them they go into what is a classroom, this classroom has some bookshelves on a lot of plays like Shakespeare from "Henry the Fifth", "Othello" and plenty of others. As well as scripts to musicals like "Evil Dead" and "The Toxic Avenger". There is also a mix of some theater posters like the musical "The Phantom of the Opera", "Sweeny Todd" to films like "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and "Romeo and Juliet (1968 version)".
Drama teacher William Rambo he has dark skin, his hair grey and black but is up almost like flames, his suit is long black coat with a dark green shirt and black and white tie, along with cane which has wolf head on and is walking to the marker board to present the assignment. He gives a little lecture about the new assignment but then Dipper puts up his hand. William sees Dippers hand and points to him.
William says, "Yes, Dipper."
Dipper puts the hand down and says, "Why do you have coffins in the classroom?
There are several coffins behind the classroom, behind some red velvet design curtain, slightly open with some soft red velvet designer carpet.
William says, "I have another job but also I have it as a reminder for anyone to everyone that chooses to slack off."
Everyone then nervously pays attention to him.
Student 2 says, "You're not serious are you?"
"Well, those were the last words of one of the people in the coffin."
Everyone has scared and frightened but then William he shakes his hands and speaks.
"Relax, relax I'm kidding."
Everyone then at the same time breaths a sigh of relief.
"Caught your breath, good now pay close attention; you will all be in groups and each of you are going to put one single episode of a program you create."
Dipper says, "Um sir, we don't really know how to do that?"
"And that's part of the point of this assignment, for you all to learn, in the assigned groups you all have appointments to the Gravity Falls Channel 13 ANNE TV studio, they will give you the resources and guidance as long as you supply the ideas and talent and each of the programs will premiere on their channel."
Everyone is almost talking all at once as there is a nervous energy in the room but then William, he then shakes his head and then puts on his ear plugs and then turns on a remote and then it plays out loudly one song which makes everyone's ears hurt, even scream in agony as it's a track from Justin Beber's Easter song special which is track one "Easter love." He then turns off the music and everyone then is a little calmer and having their ears and souls recovered.
William says, "That's better, now if you all just calm down, I'll tell you why this assignment needs to happen."
Random Student 1 says, "To get good grades."
"A non-imaginative statement but that's only part of it; no because in every one of us there is a generator of creativity, why do you think all these things are possible. (William, he has his hand show all the posters on display.)
Random Student 1 says, "Because they got money and tik toc."
William then walks toward his desk and then says, "Oh absolutely….."
He then swings his cane and contacts his desk which makes a loud noise.
"Wrong!"
Everyone is startled by the action and William takes a breath and continues.
"Sorry but I have to get a point across, and we have only mere minutes of class left."
He then walks to one of the posters and continues his lecture.
"Let's get straight to the point, this project it can't be a selfie, tick toc, or whatever posted crap it doesn't count; what this project has to be is pure fiction, entertainment, whatever it is all has to be made from your creative minds and you have the studio for you all putting in the effort together."
He takes a breath and continues.
"It can be a single episode of a sitcom of your own making, a detective show, super sentai, whatever it is you want."
William with his cane points to one poster which is a head of William Shakespeare.
"Now if your worried about budget and means don't, this man never did and before he had all those great works, he started out with nothing but his own dreams which became eventually reality."
Adam then raises his hand and says, "So, we have the freedom to make anything we want?"
He then looks to him and points his cane at him.
William says, "That the spirit exactly, you must all go forth and show me each of your visions."
He then takes his arms out with his cane and continues looking at all the class.
"Surprise me, blow me away, give me something that I haven't seen but most importantly give me something that you only dreamed of and is just waiting for be seen by reality!"
William then assigns the groups, gives everyone the packets on all the requirements for the assignment and the due dates and everyone then leaves to go out for lunch. Most notably Dipper, Mabel and Adam who have been assigned together.
At the cafeteria, Dipper is sitting down at a table but not eating as he drinks a little bottle of blue raspberry juice called "Blue Sunshine" and puts it down and is reading a dally article from the school paper "The Log" and its new front page on the days of a series of sightings on unidentified winged creatures several nights in Gravity Falls.
Meanwhile, both Mabel and Adam are both waiting for their food from the Microwaves. The microwaves they then ring and both of them take out their lunch. Mabel has Pho soup with Dumplings and Adam has Chow Mein with Kung Pao chicken along with a few egg rolls.
Adam looks at Mabel and says, "Wow, our teacher really wants us to go all out, let alone really spontaneous."
Mabel says, "Which is part of why he's one of my favorite teachers, he keeps me interested; besides this project were doing I don't usually say this actually sounds like fun."
"Though I'm still kind of nervous."
"You're thinking about those coffins."
"Not the most comforting sight."
"Well, as he said he has another job as the Fall's mortician, he needs more money and the funeral home was overly booked and out of space for the moment."
"It's still weird."
"You shouldn't be surprised, your living in the state of weirdness and were residents."
Both hear the microwave signaling done and then both then go to the microwave and take out their meal. Then go to the table where Dipper is at both of them sit down.
Mabel says, "Where's Wendy?"
Dipper says, "She should arrive any time."
Dipper he looks at his meal a hot Teriyaki Chicken sub sandwich but doesn't feel like eating yet as he has a load on his mind as usual, he then looks at both and says, "Alright we need to get down to business on our assignment, now the production we have to put on has to not just be good but also affordable to make possible considering it will be in a TV station and not a big budget movie studio."
"A musical adaptation of the movie Anna and the Apocalypse"
Dipper says, "Tempting but no we're nowhere near Christmas time and a little too expensive for the moment."
"But I really want that one."
"I know, I know the T shirt says it all, but we don't have the money nor the time to make it work."
"Yeah, yeah very good points; alright idea number two, "Creature from the Black Lagoon" musical."
"C'mon Adam, we have to come up with something realistic."
"I know but I hate realism, realism is boring that's why I hate courtroom dramas and courtrooms."
Adam looks down a little sad and then Mabel pats him on the shoulder.
Dipper looks at Adam and gently says, "I know, I know Adam as colorful as your ideas are, we still have to consider reality."
Mabel looks at Dipper and says, "What about you Dip you have something?"
Dipper he looks at both of them and says, "Sorry, the imagination station is low on fuel."
"But you write all kinds of stories."
"Nonfiction Mabel, their history and scientific records based on real things, I'm more of an investigative reporter and writer."
"Yeah, and that would be a documentary show which according to the packet doesn't count."
Suddenly someone comes to their table, a tall girl who has brown hair and a floppy eared cap, and a green flannel shirt.
Mabel says, "Oh, hi Wendy."
Wendy then looks at them and says, "You all look serious, what are you working on."
Dipper says, "Oh, it's this project for drama but we haven't really figured it out, yet."
Wendy looks at Adam."
Wendy says, "What about your ideas you have plenty of great ones."
Adam says, "Yeah, but each of them are too big."
"That's true."
Then looks at both Dipper and Mabel.
"What about both of you."
Mabel says, "Mine are too weird."
Dipper says, "Mine too serious."
Wendy shakes her head and then makes one pound on the table and Adam, Dipper and Mabel jump from the action.
Wendy says, "Sorry just wanted to make sure you weren't zombies."
Dipper has a small smirk, "I can assure you, we're very much alive; now what are you getting at Wendy?"
Wendy sees them all and says, "The reason your ideas aren't working is because you're looking in all the wrong places."
Dipper says, "I'm not sure I follow."
Wendy says, "C'mon just look at each other and think about all what we've been though and who we are."
Mabel says, "We have but it didn't work."
"That's because your not doing it right,
Adam and even Mabel do just that and then Mabel turns back and says, "I still don't follow you Viking."
Wendy says, "Here, a method each of you stay silent and just empty your pockets and backpacks and put whatever it is you have on the table."
Mabel says, "Just that, I still don't understand."
Wendy says, "When my dad was in college he had tons of projects and not enough idea making and one day in the library as he was shaking his backpack for his big candy pack of "Tiddly Wink Tropic Fruit" as his study snack all the contents fell out and just as he was packing it back he looked at it all and then suddenly formed his idea for his next project."
Adam says, "Wow, Manliness went to college?"
Mabel says, "Who cares it's a weird idea and I'm all for them because they always work."
Dipper says, "That is actually true and why not anything's worth a try."
Adam says, "Let's do it, but could you watch for thieves Wendy."
Wendy says, "Of course, anyone even remotely things of nabbing your stuff or being cute are going to realizes my fists are no laughing matter."
Dipper has a small smirk and says, "They never are."
Dipper, Mabel and Adam go to their backpacks, and they empty out each of the contents and put them on the table. Each of them is looking at all of them and are just standing still for the longest time.
Present Time: One day before Halloween.
Wendy slowly opens her eyes and is slowly receding from the pain her body is feeling, she looks around her and sees there is cramped open space and rock all around her. She instantly remembers both Dipper and her are in a cave channel.
Wendy shakes her head to help get more of her bearings and then she feels a small wet trickle coming down the left side of her head and she feels it with her left hand and then she looks down and sees the wet substances is her blood. She slowly put painfully gets up and she looks at her right arm there is one slight nasty scrape and some dirt but nothing serious. She looks behind her and sees there are a series of rocks that are blocking off the cave channel from behind them.
She then looks at Dipper and he's still out and sees there is also a slight cut to his face, but there are a few more cuts one to the left shoulder and arm, also a shallow one to his right. A couple of cuts on the right leg and a slash wound on his chest. Wendy, she comes to him to check on him and then suddenly she hears some howls in the cave channels. She then from her jacket takes out a dark green right-angle military flashlight from her vest and she hooks it onto the label of her brown vest. She then takes out from her holster her handy Viking mini axe. She presses a button on the black handle and the handle then extends at small mid handle range.
She looks at it quietly to test the sharpness of it. She then comes to Dipper and then carefully with her muscle and strength she hoists and puts him over her shoulder and then as the sounds get louder, she then picks one of the cave channels that she listens to carefully and detects no howls. She then runs toward that cave and just keeps going hoping she can get her and Dipper far enough away despite the howls getting louder and everywhere in the cave channel.
