DEAR WIZARDING BRITAIN - MUGGLE ADVENTURES - SERIES OF ONE-SHOTS
Disclaimer: I neither own the Harry Potter franchise, nor do I own anything to do with Iron Man or Marvel franchises.
A/N-1: This is a place where I've decided to post a few of the muggle adventures that have been suggested to me by DaV1nc136 over the course of the past several months. While I likely won't manage to post every single suggestion that has been made to me, I'm hoping to fill this space up a good bit with scenes that I didn't feel I'd manage to fit into the main Dear Wizarding Britain story, but still be able to give y'all a few "behind the scenes" type of stuff.
A/N-2: I'm not going to try to put a timeline on these, as I'm not planning to post them in any particular order, I'm just going to write and post them as they come to me, while I'm still trying to figure out where I'm going with the main fic.
A/N-3: I've actually never read any of the Iron Man comics, so anything I write in relation to Iron Man (or any other comics that may get mentioned) is going to be based on my knowledge of the movies.
-IRON MAN-
Daphne found herself quite alone with nothing to do for the time being. Harry was down at the beach shore playing with James, and all of the other couples were off doing their own things. Daphne had not been feeling well, so decided she would stay inside for now.
Deciding to relax in the lounge and call Winky for a cup of tea, she absentmindedly walked in that direction, while she went over possible reasons for not feeling well in her thoughts. So far, it hadn't been anything obvious to her, she only felt a bit nauseous after she woke up, but after nibbling on a cracker or a bit of toast, the feeling would go away.
Arriving at the lounge, she mentally shrugged that thought away, not particularly wanting to analyze her health at the moment. As she walked over to take a seat on the sofa, she noticed a muggle comic book discarded on the small table next to the sofa and picked it up out of curiosity. Soon, she was so engrossed in the story that she hadn't heard Harry and James come back in until Harry peeked inside the lounge to see her with her nose stuck in the comic book.
Harry smiled in amusement and asked, "Interesting story?"
Jumping in surprise, Daphne glanced up and then checked the time, "I cannot believe I sat here reading this muggle story so long. I forgot all about asking Winky to bring me some tea."
Bemused, Harry tilted his head towards the coffee table in front of Daphne, who followed her gaze with his own and noticed an untouched cup of tea there in front of her. "Oops." Daphne said by way of reply.
Harry chuckled from the doorway and said, "I'll be right back. I'm going to go get James cleaned up and lay him down for a nap."
Smiling, Daphne nodded and said, "Take your time," before returning her attention back to the comic.
By the time Harry had made his way back to Daphne in the lounge, he found her sipping her tea as she glared at the comic thrown down on the table before her.
"What's the comic done to upset you?" Harry asked with amusement, as he sat down next to her and threw an arm around the back of the sofa behind her.
Daphne looked over at Harry with a frown and said, "I reached the end of the story, but it ended when Tony Stark was kidnapped. That can't possibly be the end of the story!"
Raising an eyebrow as he looked at Daphne, then looked at the comic on the table, then back again. "These comics are part of a series that more likely than not end on a cliffhanger in order to give you an incentive to buy the next one and then the next one and so forth."
"Do you have the next one?" Daphne asked.
"I do not," Harry said slowly. "I'm not even sure who this comic belongs to, but I suspect it's from either George or Fred."
"Oh," Daphne said with a frown.
"We can go find a muggle comic book store to see if we can find more, if you want," Harry suggested.
Daphne's face lit up with delight, "Yes! I would like that very much," she said, before launching herself into his lap and kissing first his cheeks, one at a time, and then moving on to a few pecks on the lips. She drew back before it could turn into a snogfest and asked, "How soon can we go?"
"Well," Harry said with a chuckle, "it depends on if you want it to be an outing with just the two of us, or if you want to organize a trip for everyone to go."
"Oh," Daphne said as she furrowed her brows in thought. "It would be quicker if we went with just the two of us."
Harry nodded and said, "Yes, I suppose it would be a bit quicker, but seeing as this is an American muggle comic," gesturing said comic with a nod, "perhaps we should plan it as a weekend getaway to the U.S. and invite our friends to come with us."
Daphne, not wanting to wait for however long it took to organize a group trip, leaned forward and whispered in Harry's ear, "If you take just me to the comic book store and plan the trip for the group at a later time, I promise to make it worth your while," before she started to lightly kiss Harry along the neck, causing him to tighten the hold he had on her hips while he attempted to control his arousal.
"Of course I'll take you to the comic book store, if you really want to go," Harry said breathlessly, as Daphne made her way back up to his lips.
Daphne gave Harry a triumphant grin before giving him one final kiss. "I'll go get changed, while you go shower off and get dressed," Daphne said, before she took off from the lounge towards their bedroom.
Harry sat still for a moment, attempting to calm his breathing down. "She played you like a fiddle, Potter," Harry grumbled to himself, before hauling himself up off the sofa to head to the shower and to get dressed.
Harry and Daphne stood together on the sidewalk and looked up at the sign that said *The Comic Center of Pasadena. "They look like they're about to close," Daphne said with a frown.
"Well, their sign still shows they're open, so if you want to find the next of the series of comics, then we need to go ahead and get in there, unless you want to look for a different comic book store." Harry replied, as he opened the door and held it open for his companion, who gave him a happy smile as she walked through the door.
"Hey, can I help you?" the clerk at the register asked after they came all the way through the door.
Before Harry could respond, Daphne said, "I'm looking for some comic books."
The clerk looked shocked and looked around him as if to see if he was being pranked and said, "Oh, really? Blink twice if you're here against your will."
Daphne glanced at Harry with a confused expression before she looked back again at the clerk and said, "What?"
"I think he must be confused because he doesn't normally get someone as gorgeous as you coming in to look for comic books, Daph," Harry explained in amusement.
"Should we go try a different comic shop?" Daphne asked with a frown.
"Oh, please don't. I didn't mean to offend you," the clerk responded. "I'm Stuart. I own this store. It's true though, what he said, I normally don't see someone as pretty as you coming in here asking for comic books. Is there a specific type you're looking for?"
"I recently began reading about Iron Man, and I was disappointed that the story wasn't finished at the end of it," Daphne explained, "I wanted to get the rest of them, so I could finish the story."
"Oh, there are more than 100 issues of Iron Man, in addition to the spin-off issues that include the Avengers, which includes Captain America, Hawkeye, Thor, Black Widow, The Hulk, and in later issues, The Winter Soldier, The Black Panther, The Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, The Guardians of the Galaxy…" Stuart started trailing off upon seeing Daphne's slack-jawed appearance.
Daphne looked at Harry wide-eyed, "Merlin! How are there so many different comics?"
Stuart mouthed the words "Merlin" in confusion.
"To be honest, I knew there were a lot of comics, but even I didn't realize just how many would have connecting stories," Harry replied, bemused.
"Can you afford to buy me the store?" Daphne asked softly, though not quietly enough for Stuart to not hear and become almost faint.
"Yes, Daph, I can definitely afford to buy you all the comics that he mentioned, but don't you think that's going a bit overboard?" Harry replied with a small chuckle. "Besides," he nodded towards Stuart, "I don't think Stuart there would appreciate us buying up everything in his store tonight."
Daphne flushed with embarrassment, when she realized exactly what it was she'd asked him to do for her. "I'm sorry. I got just a bit excited," she said contritely.
Stuart opened and closed his mouth a few times, as he attempted to find something to say, and finally suggested, "Why don't we start you off with Issue Numbers 2 through 10 of Iron Man to start out with, and then you can come back for more?"
Before Daphne could reply, Harry pulled out his wallet and said, "That sounds like a splendid idea."
Daphne thought about it for a few seconds before asking, "Will you put aside the rest of them, so that I know they'll be there when we come back for more?"
Seeing Stuart hesitate to answer, Harry said, "Daph, he may not be comfortable doing that, what if someone else wants to purchase a copy before we come back to buy them?"
In the end, it was decided that Stuart would put in an order for an extra copy of all the comics available relating to Iron Man and the Avengers and such, while Harry would pay a deposit in order to keep the special-ordered comics set aside for Daphne.
Harry apparated them directly to their bedroom and he found himself suddenly with his arms full of Daphne, who had immediately leapt up into his arms and started kissing him everywhere she could reach.
"You. Are. Amazing," Daphne breathed between kisses.
"Anything. To. Make. You. Happy," Harry replied breathlessly between kisses of his own.
Daphne moaned at the feel of Harry's magic wandlessly divesting the both of them of every stitch of clothing they'd been wearing, and she found herself propped up against the wall, legs wrapped firmly around Harry's waist as Harry confidently guided himself into her sweet honeypot.
At first, they started out slow, but after a while they were lost in a haze of lust and passion, before they both milked each other to completion.
Harry rested his forehead against Daphne's, as they held onto the other, catching their breath, Harry teased, "I'll buy you all the muggle comics you want, so long as you continue to jump my bones like that."
Giggling, Daphne swatted his arm playfully and said, "Hush, you."
"We should build you an Iron Man suit," Daphne told Harry a couple of days later.
"Any particular reason why?" Harry asked from his place on the floor, where he was helping James with his toys.
"We could etch protective runes into the metal of the suit that should be strong enough to protect you from most spells, and you can just fly into Great Britain and vaporize Lord Scumbag with whatever muggle technology is built into the suit," Daphne replied.
Harry stopped what he was doing and gauged what he said next very carefully, "You do realize that those comics are not real, right?"
"What do you mean by that?" Daphne asked, eyes narrowed.
Treading carefully, Harry explained, "Those comics were made purely for entertainment, they are not a true depiction of muggle technology."
Daphne rolled her eyes, "Of course I know it's made up stories, you prat."
Harry breathed out in relief.
Daphne chose to ignore that and said, "That doesn't mean we can't try to build you a flying suit with magic."
"Believe me, Daph, I don't need a flying suit to be able to fly," Harry said with a smile.
"But it would certainly be fascinating to try to create one," Daphne insisted.
*The Comic Center of Pasadena is the name of the comic book store owned by Stuart Bloom in The Big Bang Theory. I figured I'd give it a little nod here, though I can't recall if it would canonically exist during the late 90s, I'm pretending it does. Also, I didn't flag this as a crossover with The Big Bang Theory, because it was such a small mention I didn't feel it would be worth it to TBBT Fans to filter for it.
