Chapter 5
"WWWEEEEE! AGAIN!"
Toshi… has been grinning from ear to ear as of late… Well… ever since he met his sons and daughter. The three of them knew who he was the moment their eyes came upon him. His heart raced in his chest as he peered down at the three.
Since after all, he never thought something like this would ever happen to him.
Ever since they arrived, he has played with them. They love to be spun around in the air and going really fast. He has also spent time with his nieces and nephews who were more than playful with their fathers as well. The brothers took to fatherhood rather well. "It's like you guys have done this before or something…" Toshi said with a snicker.
The brothers gave off an odd smile themselves, Junpei laughed and said. "We had baby training, when Yuuji got rendered a baby, needless to say you learn fast as to how to take care of said baby… but these guys are NO babies!"
"Not in the least bit, but they are healthy and strong, it is all we can ask for" Sho said.
The brothers nodded in agreement.
That really caught Toshi off guard was the fact Tanso's sons could speak.
"How come you don't talk to us father?" one asked of him.
Tanso smiled as he showed his throat, that was where his curse mark was and it oozed blood every so often.
Choso was quick to explain. "Tanso's curse mark rotted his vocal cords, he is unable to speak." He said gently.
His sons were stunned. "How do you communicate?"
They jumped as his chest bled. "Father!" the other protested.
But then the words appeared. 'This is how, this does not harm me, and I know it's not pleasant to see. However, this is how I convey what I wish to say'
They watched on as the wounds and words quickly vanished from his skin. His sons were gently as the felt his skin to where it tore but found there was no wound. His daughter on the other hand, shied away. "I don't like it when daddy hurts himself…" she said meekly.
It melted Tanso's heart and that of the brothers. He tried to assure her it didn't hurt, but, she didn't like to see him bleed.
That was day one when they met the children.
They said they were there to help Itadori when it is time, but since he is resting and will do so for a month, they will get to know their fathers.
It's been a rather… interesting and yet satisfying moment to Toshi and the brothers. The children were eager to learn, they want to explore and see the world. But they want their fathers to show them. They wanted to learn from them the most and take everything in.
Of course, they did activities as families, picnics were HUGE, not to mention fun and exciting for the children. The played at the park, they got to walk the trails with their parents and explore this new world they are in. They were happy… and it was all any of them ever wanted them to be.
Toshi and the brothers had thought they would never had such an experience like this, now or ever. But… it felt for once, everything was going right in their world.
Time has passed since and now, they are mostly grown, with the exception of Toshi's. He was curious as to why when one of his sons explained. "We like being like this for now. We can grow big any time we want to… right now, it's more fun being like this. Dad plays with us more!"
He has to admit, this one is a smart one, but he has a smile that indicates he is up to mischief of some form or another. As weird as it is for him to say, he is as clever like Sukuna!
The other two really took up after him. This son was more stoic, his daughter serious but they also knew if the other brother had something fun in mind… they went along out of curiosity.
Toshi got to know them well, and apparently, he also learned his children were far more powerful then himself. His one son managed to defeat two dragons on his own. That was when the others grew rapidly but his children remained the same. However, Syrax decreed they were strong enough to be given names.
She told Toshi that as the children were outside, when they came in for lunch, she told them that they are getting names, but, their father is naming them.
This took him aback. "Me?" he asked.
"Of course you! It's also safer this way as well," she said gently.
Apparently if a dragon names their child, that name is known to all other dragons. Yet, when it comes from someone that is human, the dragons do not hear the name. According to her anyways.
Toshi was about to ask for her input when the children suddenly sat before him and awaited for their name.
No pressure…
Toshi peered down at them, he smiled as he felt he had the proper title to give his children. His daughter, he turned and smiled to. His hand gently cupped the side of her face as he said. "How does the name Aiko sound to you?" he asked.
Her eyes beamed. "MOM!" she called.
Syrax smiled and nodded with approval.
Now his sons, the one who smiled like he has done something troubling, he smirked at him and said. "Kaito, I think that's a good name for you."
"Kaito… YEAH!" he cheered.
"And you, how about Kota?"
He took a moment to consider it, before nodding his approval. "I like it, thank you father!"
"Dad, why did you take your time to consider our names?" asked Aiko.
He smiled. "Well, funny you should mention that, my name came from an ancestor… who did terrible things. My mother gave me his name, in order to upset the clan I was part of… but, my name has since altered a little, and it's more palatable for those around me to speak it. I wanted to make sure you had a name to be proud of and not one that would have to be altered later."
His children were stunned, but then, they stood up and hugged him. "Thank you, dad" whispered Kota.
Toshi wasn't the only one who named his children. The brothers all did as well by their wife's wishes. But when Yuuji woke, they ignored all things fun and focused on him.
It was remarkable to see the children work together and coordinate themselves.
They were all interested and wanted to help take care of not just Yuuji, but Suiryu as well since he was taking care of Yuko. They were very observant and at the end of the day, the children would ask question.
"Is Uncle Yuuji always nice?"
"Why does Uncle Suiryu look like Sukuna?"
"Why is he always yelling and swearing too?"
It was a question period, the brothers laughed aloud as Choso was soon to make a rule. "We will answer question AFTER dinner, not before or during. Let's fill our stomachs and then our minds."
His logic was inspirational for the children, his sat extra smug to it all!
They answered every question the children had, and most recently, they were bombarded with questions about Kiyoshi.
In fact, their children interrogated them after Kiyoshi was taken away by Yuuji!
"Is uncle Yuuji going to eat him?!"
"How come cousin didn't know who we were?"
"Why did he act so… scared when we helped him?"
"Is Kiyoshi okay… in the head?"
"Okay, it appears it is time for story time" Junpei said with a sigh. "Bring everyone together, we will explain everything."
Junpei was the best at this, no one understood why but he was very good at explaining the context of a situation… Perhaps to him, it's like explaining the plot of a movie. He told the children what had happened with Kiyoshi, Sukuna, the dragon named Raynn and Yuuji. That alone took an hour.
When he got to the situation at hand, the children froze in shock. "What… the dragon tried to kill Kiyoshi!?" they demanded.
"Yes, and the reason why Kiyoshi isn't very certain of you is this. He didn't know you had been born and were growing this fast. Second, he wasn't born a dragon but was turned into one. Third, your senses and everything you knew about yourself, changes. You go from being human, to a dragon. It's a MASSIVE jump from one thing to another, right?" he asked.
"I have to agree with uncle, I spoke with Kiyoshi later on. He told me we did startle him, but he does want to meet us… we were… as he said… a tidal wave of cousins."
Toshi and the others snorted a laugh. It was true. If they all come charging at you, you are swept away!
"So, a slow introduction then…" Choso said in a sage like tone. "Okay, tomorrow. Sho, will you take your children and introduce them to Kiyoshi? We will all greet him one day at a time. Understood?"
They nodded to this.
"So, are there any more question?" Junpei asked.
The children paused to consider it, but then, shook their heads. "That's all for now, thank you uncle" Calypso said in a gracious tone.
"Okay, let's get everyone ready for bed. Team B, let's go to the other house!" called Eso.
The idea of splitting the family up for the time being was a good notion. Since they know now how many children are in the house, they can expand it to add more rooms.
If only there were an easier way to do this…
