Chapter 6

The next morning.

"North side, coming in fast, left flank is blocked. How do you stop me?"

It wasn't the kind of training Suguru had in mind, however, it was one that did keep him on his toes. Sukuna wasn't sparring with him as much as he thought he would. Instead, he gives Geto scenarios, basically how he took down the Tooru family in the past. Using the same method, he would test Geto as to how he would have countered or attempted to stop him.

"How many legions are at your disposal?"

Sukuna smirked. "Ah, getting smarter now aren't we. You know when the Toorus realized I was hunting them. They altered their tactics. As well, many started to give up their curse energy and opted for heavenly restrictions. However, in this situation, the legion I sent on ahead was already killed. Tiring out my target was one of my main objectives since Toorus could put up a fight. Now, if you were there, what would you have done?"

It's been a mental sparring session as it were. Geto had to take in everything Sukuna said, he would describe the area of combat, but leave out details that need to be asked by Geto. He can't just assume he is being told everything. Sukuna doesn't work like that.

But for the pass few days, Geto has been able to think outside the box as it where and come up with solutions. Sukuna would then consider the notion and explain there are still faults, but never told him what they were. Sometimes he would spend a full day considering what he would do as a counter measure. Sometimes he would get it instantly, other times, it took longer.

But, it's been an oddly enriching experience.

"Let's call it a day for now," Sukuna insisted.

Geto nodded. Normally this meant they would sit and have a drink. Today it was the same and yet, as they drank, Sukuna began to ask question of his own.

"How was it? When you did your spiritual… redemption?"

Geto paused, he set his drink aside and said. "In some ways, I don't feel as if I have been redeemed at all. I still know what I did, but, I find it doesn't burden me anymore, well, not as much as it use to. I know I got off easy with that village I destroyed… but those people were rotten too… I was punished for killing the children."

Sukuna merely nodded. "Children cannot be held accountable for ALL their actions, especially ones taught to them by adults who see the world a certain way."

"Yeah, well… they pissed me off for blaming two little girls since they had curse energy… sounds like they did the parents in shortly after they were born."

"Then death was called for… what else?"

Suguru shook his head. "You endure their final moments of life, taking in and absorbing everything they endured before they died. The pain, emotion… the… chaos of it all." Suguru paused. "Then you realized how much of a monster you were,"

Silence.

Sukuna said nothing to that but sighed. "No wonder she wants me to knock off my debt first…"

"Huh?"

"Chusi is determined that I go through the same thing you did. However, I have taken too many lives, I have no curse energy so I cannot do reverse jujutsu on myself… the process will take my life if I attempted such a thing."

"Can't you do it in stages?"

Sukuna shook his head. "It's a one time arrangement. Take into consideration what this does for you in the end. It cleans your slate as it were. However, if you go out and repeat your actions… there is no more redemption… funny thing is I saw that happen to."

"Of course you did," Suguru muttered. But curiosity got the better of him. "What happened?"

"Mother Tooru did this one, it was a sorcerer they had helped once before, a woman. She had killed many for the sake of power, and then she redeemed herself through the family. She didn't stay but left… only to return a few years later. She went to Mother Tooru to ask to be redeemed. Mother Tooru paused as this woman bore a rather odd smile. So, without hesitation, she agreed. Mother Tooru allowed me to watch as she set up this domain. I stood next to her as this sorcerer smiled. 'This is great, that I can keep getting my slate cleaned like this!' However, mother Tooru didn't smile, she merely said. 'I thought I told you before… redemption can only be offered once'. The sorcerer wasn't the least bit surprised and said she would endure it all again to clear her slate. Well…" Sukuna paused as he gave off a bit of a shutter!

"Did you just shutter?!"

"Have you ever met Mother Tooru? If you think Chusi is bad, where do you think she learned that from?" Sukuna snapped back.

"Point taken…" Suguru said, but then shuttered a little. "You mean to tell me, Mother Tooru was worst?"

Sukuna snickered. "How to explain this…" he set his drink to the side, Geto still gets rather creped out when Sukuna can stare at him with the two eyes on his left side with ease. "If she were still alive… had she lived… I never would have fallen into madness… had I… I wouldn't put it passed her that she could beat it out of me!"

"That serious?"

"I don't lie when it comes to someone's power." He said bluntly. "Had she been brought back… Gods help me…" he said and shook his head to it all. "By the way, the sorcerer looking for a second redemption… had her mind, body and soul torn apart by her new victims and those from her past. No one is ever given a second redemption."

That explains a few things. One, this redemption is a one shot deal. He can't mess this up. Two, Sukuna fears Mother Tooru. Second place is Chusi… Suguru knows now to tread carefully. Also, he is having second thoughts on being forced to join this clan!

"Chusi is really determined to have me be with Yua isn't she?"

He nodded to that. "She sees something that no one else does,"

"But what? I'm nothing special. Learned that the hard way and had my ass kicked six ways from Sunday to learn that lesson…"

"You haven't even begun to suffer. But, I think the way Chusi sees this is the fact that Yua isn't properly taken care of. Six Eyes is strong, but he offers nothing more for Yua. They don't spend much time together, he would rather wonder off than to help the children. However, I saw this as well. When Yua was unable to move about on her own… you helped her more than six eyes."

"No offence, you kept dropping her off at my house,"

"Did you refuse?"

"You got me there…" Suguru said and took another stiff drink. "What I don't get or understand is the fact that, Chusi sees something in me for Yua. I don't offer much but to help her out…"

"That's a big deal for a woman."

"Huh?"

"In my observations, I see women are still considered to be lower beings than that of men. I have fought sorcerers from every age and ability. None put up a better fight than a woman."

Suguru paused oddly. "Where they the stronger sorcerer?"

Sukuna snorted a laugh. He peered at Suguru before saying. "Why do you think the Toorus were led BY women?" He snickered at the notion. "The Zen'in had a good plan in place to suppress their women to prevent them from realizing their potential. Had they not, they would have stood on equal footing as the Gojo clan… perhaps even above them since the Gojos did the same thing, but not to the same extent as the Zen'in." he then smirked. "Also, tell me… who destroyed the Zen'in clan?" as he gave a slide glare to Geto.

"Damn, you really do remember everything!"

"Be careful when something embarrassing happens to you, I can hold that over your head for generations…"

Suguru paused but smirked. "Are you cracking a joke?"

Sukuna shrugged. "I'm having a good day." He said. "Don't look into it."
