Interval Event #3: A Heavy Weapon
In the quiet afternoon, Michiru found himself standing beside a quaint house. His gaze swept across the surroundings as he muttered to himself, "Where's Sango?" Just then, a small figure approached him. It was Shippo, the little fox demon.
"What's up Michiru?" The young fox demon inquired.
The Kururugi boy turned to Shippo with a slight frown, "Hey, Shippo, have you seen Sango?"
Shippo scratched his head, thinking for a moment. "Isn't she in the woods, practicing like she always does?"
A grateful smile played on Michiru's lips, "Thanks! I'll go check." Without wasting a moment, he took off in the direction of the woods.
Eventually Michiru found the place in the woods where the demon slayer was engrossed in her training. "Sango?" he called out. As he approached her.
Sango turned, surprise evident in her eyes. "You're here again. I'm not doing anything interesting."
The Kururugi boy chuckled, a touch of nerves in his voice, "I think I'd like to practice today."
Sango arched an eyebrow intrigued, "Really?"
A determined glint sparkled in Michiru's eyes as he continued, "Do you remember you were saying that you're just a regular human being?" Refering to their last conversation they had alone.
Sango's lips curved into a bemused smile, "Huh? Oh yes."
Kururugi's voice grew more resolute, "I've been thinking about it. I've been too soft on myself, so I want to start practicing."
Sango regarded him with a mix of surprise and admiration, "You've got more guts than I thought."
Kururugi's cheeks warmed at the compliment, "Really?"
Sango nodded, her tone sincere, "Yes. I have to admit I like people who think like that."
Michiru's face still red as he let out a puzzled sound, "Huh?"
Sango playfully scolded him, "Don't be a fool. Why are you turning red? I was talking about a way of thinking."
Realization dawned on the Shikigami user, "Oh, I see." He mustered up his courage again, "Can I try carrying that? I'll carry it for you." He said pointing at the giant boomerang Sango always carried.
Sango's eyes widened in surprise at his request, "My Hiraikotsu?"
The Kururugi boy nodded firmly, "Yes. Let me carry it, I'm strong enough."
Sango hesitated for a moment before giving him a faint smile, "Are you sure? It's really heavy."
The boy's confidence didn't waver, "Absolutely. I can handle it."
With a gentle nod, Sango relinquished her weapon, handing it over to Michiru, who upon grabbing on to the weapon immideatly dropped it on the ground with a loud thud, "I-it's h-heavy..." The Kururugi boy's voice broke through the silence of the forest, a mix of struggle and surprise.
Sango reached out to him, concern etching her features, "Careful! ..."
Kururugi's voice held a touch of embarrassment, "I'm so sorry! I was really surprised! It's so heavy!"
Sango's lips curled into an understanding smile, "You've got a long way to go. But if you continue on, you'll get stronger. Let's practice together again." She said taking back the giant boomerang back from Michiru.
Kururugi's face lit up with eagerness, "Okay, Sango!"
