It was a splendid day for Margrave Roswaal. Seated in his office, a gentle smile adorned his lips. Over the past two years, success and prosperity had become his steadfast companions. His intelligence regarding the forthcoming royal selection had proven remarkably accurate. Three worthy candidates for the throne had already been identified.

Among them were Anastasia Hoshin, the capable leader of the Hoshin Trading Company; Duchess Crusch Karsten, hailing from the Duchy of Karsten; and the notable Baroness Priscilla Barielle, ruler of the Barony of Barriele.

Furthermore, the Obliteration of the Great Spirit Puck and expulsion of the problematic half-devil Emilia had further solidified the Margrave's achievements. The meticulous development of mines and industries within the frigid forest had ensured him a robust cash flow.

The accuracy of the tome mistress's guidance had consistently proven itself. Its insights were unfailingly precise, a testament to its unparalleled wisdom.

While perusing various letters strewn across his desk—ranging from domain reports to entreaties for support from the three contender camps—the Margrave couldn't help but ponder his next steps. Yes, he had vanquished Puck and incarcerated Emilia within a distant brothel in Kyo. Yet, the pivotal question lingered: how would these accomplishments propel him toward his age-old aspirations?

A shrewd thinker, Roswaal found himself confounded by the book's enigmatic machinations over the past two years. Nevertheless, he refrained from doubting the Tome of Wisdom. Its counsel had consistently guided him truly in the past and was poised to do so once again.

As was his custom when confronted with an uncertain path forward, Roswaal turned to the tome. He set aside the letters and cleared his desk, then retrieved a black, ornately adorned book from his cabinet and placed it before him.

With a contented smile, he delicately turned the pages, arriving at the final leaf. "Ahhhhh, let's see what lies within,~" he mused, his excitement palpable as he commenced reading aloud the words inscribed upon the page.

"Behold, a man endowed with the power of Turning back time has graced the capital city of Lagunica with his presence," he intoned, his voice resonating with intrigue. "Utilize the half-elf as a catalyst to facilitate the young man's affection. Employ her as a mechanism for influence,"

Roswaal blinked in surprise at the words before him.
"What..." he stammered, his voice trembling, as he gazed at the inscription in the book. Could this be true? How could he possibly use the half-elf when she's likely deceased or suffering in some brothel in Kararagi? It simply doesn't make any sense.

"How could this..." Roswaal spoke again, his once-normal tone now replaced by one of panicked disbelief.

He immediately turned back the pages of the book, searching for the initial instruction regarding the half-elf. Once located, he began to read once more, causing a shiver to run down his spine.

"The Witch of Glaciation from the Elior Forest is a potential candidate for the Lagunica throne. Offer your sponsorship to her, aid her in securing the throne, and provide shelter for her and her spirit contractor. Utilize the frozen denizens of Elior as a barter—IMPOSSIBLE!" Roswaal burst out in a tone of disbelief.

"This isn't what I witnessed! I swear, this isn't what I saw!" Roswaal's voice quivered with panic as he grappled with his emotions.

He had to rectify this situation; perhaps it wasn't too late. He would journey to Kararagi and rescue the half-devil from the brothel she'd been forced into. Yes, there was still a chance to make things right.

Without a second thought, the mage rushed out of his office, bypassing the maids in the hall. He paid no heed to them; his mind was solely fixed on the task ahead. This mission held the potential to undo everything he had dedicated himself to.

"Why would the tome deceive me!? Why mistress why?!" he pondered aloud, his thoughts racing. Upon reaching the garden, he levitated and, in an instant, propelled himself forward like a jet, soaring toward Kyo.

Roswaal's journey to Kyo Kararagi was swift. Utilizing his connections and considerable wealth, he promptly initiated the search for the half-elf. However, given Kyo's expansive expanse, finding her proved to be a time-consuming endeavor - a precious commodity the margrave couldn't afford to waste. Still, he clung to hope. The half-devil possessed great strength; there was a chance she could still be alive.

"Yes, that must be it," he reassured himself.

As the margrave progressed towards the potential location of the half-devil, accompanied by his guide, he contemplated how best to approach her. Perhaps an apology was in order, or even the proposal of a mutually beneficial arrangement.

"The elven lass isn't too far, my lord," the guide, a wolfman dressed in a black kimono, informed him. "I've personally Slept with her on numerous occasions. She possesses an appealing figure, albeit too skinny. Her fit isn't overly snug, but considering my Size, it's not a concern," he added with a knowing smirk.

Acknowledging the guide's words, Roswaal nodded.

"I understand, Halibel-kun. However, what do you believe are the odds of her survival?"

Halibel responded with a self-assured grin. "Chances are quite favorable, my lord. I was in using her as recently as last week."

Upon hearing Halibel's explanation, Roswaal took in the information thoughtfully. "We can only hope, Halibel-san," he responded, mustering a small smile of his own.

The journey wasn't lengthy, and soon they found themselves in proximity to a dumpster.

"Based on my senses, she should be..." Halibel's voice trailed off, his eyes widening. "Shieeeeet," he uttered in dismay.

Before them lay the half-elf, Emilia, her form exposed and stripped of all dignity. Flies and worms swarmed her body, while vultures and ravens feasted on her remains.

"Well, it seems we've located her, my lord," Halibel spoke with a sigh. "Such a shame! She was an attractive young woman, after all. A memorable encounter... Good shit"

Roswaal's visage twisted into a visage of shock, sorrow, and sheer distress. Centuries of meticulous planning had crumbled in the wake of this horrific spectacle. The tome that had been his guiding light had not only failed him but had deceived him with its falsehoods. Within moments, tears streamed down his face, mirroring the torrent of emotions within him.

"Are you alright, my lord?" Halibel inquired, genuine concern etched on his features, but Roswaal remained lost in his own world.

"...Teacher, I'm sorry I have failed you," he murmured to himself, his voice laden with regret, as he crumpled to his knees beside the dumpster. The weight of his failure bore down on him, leaving him broken and defeated.
