Bella's pov

It's been about two weeks since that day. I know it may sound silly, but I never pictured myself becoming a vampire even if I've known about their existence for most of my life. Even after I met the Cullens I didn't expect this to happen. They did treat me well but perfect never last. At first, I was almost waiting for them to toss me aside. I mean I did kind of die in their care but I won't hold that against them.

They told me that my control is very good for being so new. They all have theories of why to me knowing about vampires my entire life to being the victim of vampires my whole life. I don't really care the reasoning, just glad it is that way.

Carlisle pulled me out of school to do homeschooling for the rest of the year. He told the school to give me some extra attention to show I'm loved. I guess he couldn't say I have blood-red eyes and a thirst for blood. It be a bit entertaining to see the reaction to that though. I'm hoping when school starts in the fall I'll be able to join them back there.

Today I'm just sitting outside, this time not in the sun with Alice. She's been there for me since day one and I can never thank her enough for that.

"Hey what's going through that head of yours"

"Just how much my life has changed in the past seven months"

"I think it has changed for the better Bella. I bet seven months ago you didn't know smiling existed"

"I had nothing to be happy about before seven months ago"

After I said that we just sat there smiling for a few minutes

Carlisle pov

"What do you mean he escaped" I yelled through the phone.

"We don't know how, he just wasn't there for morning roll call and his cell door lock was broken"

More vampires helping him out. Of course. How many vampires does this guy know

"Do you think he's going to come after her" I asked putting aside my anger.

"I would be more surprised if he didn't. We have s search team but I'd put her on house arrest until we find her" and then she hung up on me.

Esme walked in from the other room. She wrapped around me to comfort me.

"That sounded quite intense" she said very concerned

"Bella's dad escaped, from the sounds of it there's another vampire helping him"

"Oh we have to tell Bella"

"Yeah, I know. She isn't going to take this very well though"

"I don't think anyone would"

"They think he's coming after her. Not that he's any match for her but we don't need her killing her father"

"I know, I'll call Alice and Bella home now"

45 minutes later, Bella's pov

I almost felt scared. All Esme said was it was urgent. Alice sat next to me and Esme and Carlisle set across from us. They looked at each other with concern. I wonder what I did wrong. It felt like a century of silence even though it has only been about five minutes. Finally, Carlisle spoke up.

"We have something to tell you, and you aren't going to like it." He paused

"I got a call earlier. Your father escaped and they seem certain that he's going to come after you"

After he said that I froze. I knew he couldn't hurt me now but I thought I was finally free from him. It's been almost two years since I've seen him. Two years free of his harassment. Two years free from his abuse. Two years free from all the traumatic experiences he put me through. Now it's coming back. I wanted to cry but I soon realized I was unable to do so.

Alice wrapped her arms around me and whispered it's okay we won't let him get to you. It doesn't matter if he can't hurt you anymore, I understand that it's what matters and seeing him will be traumatizing for you. We will make sure that he won't show his face here.

Those words were like sunshine in my soul. I never got words of encouragement as a child. I never understood that some people actually do care in this world. Now I do. He may be my blood but he is not my family.

Authors note: What do you guys think? This is honestly my favorite story I've written. I hope you guys enjoyed it.
