In death, let God sort them out.
On the day that she was set out to leave, Olga remembered to informed Satoru about her short mission overseas. He too had to go on a mission overseas which left the rest of the first-years to their own devices.
.
.
.
"The Secret Church has dispatched me on a mission. It won't be long,"
"You too, Olga?" He inquired. "I guess that makes the two of us."
.
She was only gone for a couple days.
When she returned, Itadori Yuji was no longer with them.
Olga wasn't disappointed, because death was normal.
In retrospect, she didn't care at all about Yuji's death. Death was something she was acquainted with in her line of work, and forming personal attachments with individuals was not in her nature.
Pity though, Yuji was a pleasant boy to have around.
However, no matter how unexpected a situation has become, one was able to tell that an inkling of a miracle could spawn at any moment.
Olga comes across a battered up Megumi and Nobara who were sitting outside the front porch of their dormitory.
The older woman was on her way to see Yuji's dead body to fully confirm for herself if he was truly incapacitated, coming across said boy's friends was not on her itinerary.
"Hello, Megumi, Nobara. My condolences," Olga greets them with her usual stoic tone.
The two of what's left of the first-years were patched up in bandages. They don't seem to be as despondent as most people would normally be when someone close passes away but Olga could sense that the death of their classmate did weigh heavily on their minds.
She hummed thoughtfully.
"The Lord indeed works in mysterious ways. But these mysteries are things we can scorn or enjoy. Megumi, Nobara, you're both mentally strong people for not breaking down after these setbacks."
Megumi looked up at Olga with a mix of exhaustion and determination in his eyes. "Thank you," he replied quietly.
Nobara rested her head on her palm, as she stared at the ground. "Olga-san, you're surprisingly religious when I least expected it."
"I am a product of my work. Anyways, I'll see you two around since I won't be leaving for the Secret Church this soon. " She turned her back to Megumi and Nobara, as if ready to leave, but then she hesitated for a moment. Olga had always been distant and reserved, but something about the current situation seemed to have piqued her curiosity.
She turned back slightly, looking at the two first-years. "If you ever find yourselves struggling to cope with Itadori's death or need someone to talk to, don't hesitate to reach out. Remember, there's strength in seeking support when you need it," she said calmly, her words surprisingly genuine.
Olga didn't wait for their response.
She was heading towards a particular building that served as the sole medical center within the school compound. As she entered the building, she was led into a particular room by a scrawny man named Ijichi Kiyotaka. The room was dim, the walls were stained by unknown dark substances, despite though everything else we in that room smelling of sterylised alcohol.
As Olga stood in the autopsy room, her eyes locked onto the body bag containing Itadori Yuji's lifeless form. Olga had heard that Sukuna had taken over Yuji's body for a limited time and during that short time he penetrated Yuji's heart and took it out, instantly killing the boy.
Olga wanted to meet Sukuna herself.
Not for the reason of exorcising him, but to understand his motives.
Kiyotaka, the scrawny man who had led her to the room, watched Olga's expression closely. "Olga-san, are you alright?" Kiyotaka asked, noticing the intensity in her gaze as she looked at the body bag.
"I had expected him to live longer. He was young." She said coldly, without a shred of empathy.
Kiyotaka had initially thought that the reason for her overwhelming gaze was because she came to care for the boy, but that wasn't the case. In fact, it was terrifying for the weak-hearted man to comprehend Olga's actions based on the emotion shown on her face.
He didn't understand how someone could be so heartless!
Satoru entered the room with a slightly more serious expression as he acknowledged both Kiyotaka's and Olga's presence in the room. "Sister Olga, glad to see you're back again. Not you, Kiyo-kun,"
"G-Gojo-san!" The blatant disrespect to Kiyotaka made him become flustered by Satoru's remarks.
Satoru goes as far as to ignore the other man by continuing his conversation with Olga.
He scanned her as if something about her had changed. "You seemed different, sister Olga. Did something happened on your mission?"
So, he could notice that too.
"I have no idea what you're getting at, Satoru." She feigned ignorance. "Are you perhaps hitting on me?" Her expression was void, despite the clear sarcasm in her voice.
"As if," He clicked his tongue. "You're not my type!"
It annoyed him as her mannerism was starting to resemble his old friend.
Completely disregarding their banter, Satoru switches the topic to the matter at hand. "I suspect it was the higher-ups' doing that led to Yuji's death."
"Hmm, I can't say that I fully disagree with them. Killing Yuji this early would mean destroying the parts of Sukuna's soul from the fingers he had already injested. It was a rational move," Olga explained her view which caused Satoru to frown.
He sighed as he folded his hands. "I thought you'd share the same opinions as me, but that wasn't the case."
Olga covers her mouth with her three fingers, not quite close to concluding her point. "You're very decisive about your opinions. The higher-ups were unfair as they violated their agreement in holding off Yuji's execution. From what I understand, the mission was beyond their level, so the casualties were to be expected."
Satoru's eyes glimmered with intrigue, and he leaned in closer to Olga, almost as if sharing a secret. "You know, Sister Olga, I've always appreciated your ability to see things from a different perspective. Should I..." His tone has gotten deeper and turned into something ominous. "Just kill all those senile old men?"
Olga knew that Satoru meant every sense of the words he had just said.
Yet she simply hummed.
"By all means, the floor is yours," She said, seemingly almost welcoming him to do so. "I won't stop you,"
Satoru laughed at Olga's indirect encouragement as he was caught off-guard by her aloof reaction to his opened declaration of treason.
"Olga, sometimes you being too serious is hilarious. I won't kill them… for now. Besides, if I did, they'd still be replaced with the same lousy old fools,"
Throughout this conversation, Kiyotaka's presence was faded into the background. He was horrified by the two monsters before him candidly talking about murder. If it were up to him, he would've kept his mouth shut even if he too disagreed with the higher-ups.
But he listened intently to their conversation as they continued.
"Satoru, I haven't seen you like this, since well, you know," Entered the voice of another woman.
She entered the room, taking in the atmosphere and the individuals present. Her tired eyes lingered on Olga for a moment, assessing Olga's features and her burnt scar.
Without saying a word, she walked over to the body bag containing Itadori Yuji's remains.
This woman wore a lab coat and had an air of authority about the space around her. Her name was Ieiri Shoko, and her drained appearance was a testament to her work which in this case, was that of a medical professional.
"Olga, this is Ieiri Shoko. She's the official doctor for the jujutsu sorcerers." Kiyotaka introduced.
"Pleasant meeting you, Shoko." Olga greeted.
"Hello, Olga-san." Shoko then turned to her colleague. "Seems to me like you genuinely cared for this kid, Satoru." She observed.
Olga kept silent as Satoru spoke as Shoko's words were directed at him. "My students are important to me, and as their teacher, of course, I will care about them."
"Is that so?" Shoko said as she opened the bag. "So this is Sukana's vessel,"
They all sinked in the sight of Yuji's lifeless body. Where his heart was supposed to be, was now an empty, gapping black hole.
This was the confirmation Olga needed to signify Itadori Yuji was no longer alive.
"I have a request."
"What is it Olga?" Satoru asked, intrigued by Olga's sudden initiative.
"When the procedure is completed, I want to perform a cleansing ritual on Yuji's remains,"
"Huh?" Satoru was taken aback by Olga's request. He raised an eyebrow, looking at her curiously. "If you're asking to exorcise the curse within him, Shoko is more than skilled enough to do so."
Olga nodded in agreement but she continued. "I'm not saying that I don't trust in Shoko's abilities. However, this is not a matter of jujutsu. I want to lay Yuji's soul to rest,"
This was out of character for Olga. Satoru had known her to be an indifferent person who wasn't easily deterred. Even right now, as she made her request, there was no reflection of emotion on her face. But her voice carried a hint of determination, one that he could not overlook.
As for Olga, Yuji was a civilian before entering this vile world of curses and sorcerers. She was secretly thankful he didn't have to go through the despair of enduring this lifestyle. Yuji was a good kid and she didn't want to see that inspiring light in his eyes diminish as he witnessed the horrors of this ugly world.
"It is my duty as a woman who serves the Lord to show mercy on the damned and unfortunate. Two souls had resided in the body, one of them belongs to Itadori Yuji. Yuji's soul deserves to be at peace even in the after life. It is my one wish, to lay Itadori Yuji's soul to rest. But I can only do that with your permission,"
Satoru processes Olga's word, considering them thoughtfully. "Well, Olga, it's not something we usually do, but I trust your judgment," Satoru finally replied, a sense of respect in his tone. "You may perform the ritual once the dissection is completed. I'll make the necessary arrangements."
Olga nodded in acknowledgment, appreciating Satoru's understanding. It was rare for someone like her, an outsider, to be granted such a privilege within the world of jujutsu sorcerers. However, Satoru seemed to trust Olga enough to the extent of allowing her to do as she pleased.
Shoko puts on her latex gloves, a surgical mask present on face. "I'm going to start now,"
However, as she turned to face Yuji's dead body, the boy had risen from the dead. The hole in his chest was no more.
"Oh, I'm naked!" Yuji said as he stared at his lower regions.
"What?!" Kiyotaka exclaimed, shocked that the boy who was dead mere seconds ago had come back to life.
Satoru simply smirked as he chuckled about this strange twist of fate.
Olga, on the other hand, was the least surprised in the room. Miracles such as this one, were not too uncommon in her line of work. She had seen first hand, of men that recover from even the most fatal of wounds.
"Well, well, that's my student right there. Coming back to life as if it was nothing!" Satoru exclaimed with a grin, seemingly proud of Yuji's resilience.
"I'm kind of disappointed," Shoko sounded. She heads to the storage shelves to retrieve a spare t-shirt for Yuji.
Despite herself, Olga flashes a cynical smile at the strange turn of events, causing everyone in the room to stare at her intense display of emotions.
It was a first.
Well, they were going to need to get used to such instances as she planned to stick around a while longer.
Just as quickly as the smile came on her face, traces of emotions were erased as she returned to her usual unfeeling self.
"This too, is the will of the Lord. Welcome back, Yuji-kun,"
