Weather: Passing Storms.

Dear Diary.

Waking up in a foreign place felt extremely jarring, the bright sun light, sound of people walking and conversing mixed with the light tapping of the rain, the smell of rain and medicine? And sweet mother of Gog was I ever in pain... I was staring at a ceiling for what felt like hours on end. Eventually someone decided to pay a visit. A girl, I think she's a bit shorter than I am, hard to say since I was laying down. Bright red eyes, real long light purple? Lavender? Hair, oh and she had rabbit ears. What is this Anime? What's strange about the ears were that they sort of looked buttoned on to head. I wonder if its a prop for a cosplay or something. Anyway, the bunny girl had a few minutes after I woke up. "Oh you're awake.", "Are you in any pain?", "How are you feeling?", "Would you like some water?", etc.

Well my answers were "Am I dead?", "I'm in so much pain.", "In pain.", "I would like some water." I eventually got my water but drinking water laying down and in pain was a bit too hard so I had to pass on the water. While I was trying to drink I did get a glimpse of my body neck down. The left side of my body was covered in bloodied bandages... That gave me a real scare... Another hour of just laying around helped me cope with whatever happened. If I wasn't in unending pain, I would have been bored out of my mind or still shook. After a bit the rabbit girl dropped by to check on me and I had the chance to ask who she was, where I was and how I got where ever here was.

Reisen Udongein Inaba... That's quite the mouthful of a name... According to the Rabbit I was in Eientei. That place the Youkai Exterminator was talking about. I remember one of the gentleman talking about me not needing to go to a place like this, talk about irony... Now how I got here... According to Udongein, Konpaku carried me to Eientei which only raised more question, the biggest one being exactly what happened. Udongein only had part of the answer that she got from the Gardener. According to Konpaku's story told by the Rabbit, I stumbled into the Village with a mangled up left arm, completely delirious; probably from the blood loss.

Mangled up left arm, hemorrhaging... I remember... It was on the Seventeenth. Post shift I wanted to find more Japanese honeysuckle to create more soap for my laundry since I've been washing my clothes with just water. While I was looking around the woods I did mange to find the plants that I wanted... Then the feeling of paranoia peaking in intensity and turning to absolute dread... An encounter with a Youkai. I did have one encounter with a hostile Youkai before; that one man eating Youkai girl. That encounter gave me a simple fight or flight response. This one... Nothing... I remember just staring at a Youkai twice as tall and just have that look of 'I'm not here to eat you, I'm here to Kill you.' And it almost did too.

I think a part of me didn't want to remember this. Maybe I subconsciously repressed the attack two days ago, because the moment I remembered every little detail came flooding back. How I could literally feel my pupils dilate, the ambient sound of the woods growing quiet any my ears only hearing the ragged breathing of the Youkai, the sound of my heartbeat slowly deafening every other auditory senses, the feeling of my body literally creating cold sweats, and the slightest twitch of my finger triggering the Youkai to attack, pinning me in a second and during all that? Not a single thought in my head not even a 'I am in danger.' Everything I've learned at this point was absolutely useless. Well not useless, if anything was useless it would have been me.

Getting pinned and torn to shred was probably the thing that got me snapping back to reality where I instinctively kick, punch, hit the thing that was was tearing into me. I think I got lucky enough to grab a rock to hit the Youkai, buy me a second to teleport. Anywhere. I guess I ended up in the Village, and the rest is history. I've been in Gensokyo for over two months. Learned to use magic and be physically stronger than most adults back home, but in the face of actual death. I'm still powerless... If a single Youkai can easily kill me and the only thing that can save me is a Deus ex Machina, how am I supposed to cause an incident, and somehow survive it?

I didn't get much time to think since another person walked in. A lady with a very professional demeanour, I think she might be taller than I am? Once again hard to say since I was laying down. Long silvery hair similar to Konpaku but in a loose braid. The lady introduced herself as Yagokoro Eirin a co-owner of the Eientei, and something of a doctor. According to the Doctor the Eientei was surprisingly busy, practically every one that wasn't a Fairy maid or a HobGoblin from the Mansion visiting the Eientei. As much glad that I was, I felt awful for causing that much trouble. Asking about the Youkai that attacked me I didn't get a definitive answer. Meaning that the Youkai might be still out there... The Doctor also gave me a brief rundown on what happened to my body. To put simply, my left upper body was a step away from being unrecoverable. Left arm badly messed up with torn muscles, fried nerves, broken bones; any more damage and I would have lost been one handed. A fair bit of my organs on my left side was damaged too, the only thing that on the left side that wasn't touched was my heart. That and the whole blood loss thing.

I wanted to ask more questions but couldn't due to me getting visited by the Big Boss, Izayoi and Flandre. The little Vampire cause one heck of a scene and was promptly kicked out by Izayoi of all people, guess shes keeping a pretty short leash. The Doctor left me and the Big Boss all alone. Gog I hate awkward silences, but thankfully the Big Boss broke the silence. Too bad it was with "You know, thanks to your little disappearing act, you caused quite a stir in the mansion. Especially with my dear little sister. And I got to miss out on your blood." Way to pour salt in the wound Big Boss. Is what I would have thought if Remilia didn't add "It was enough trouble for me to step in and cover for you. Since Patchy wouldn't look after her. Though for the two days I got to learn more about Flandre than I thought I would." I didnt get to say much but apologize for the trouble I caused. The Big Boss took her leave and it was Flandre's turn. Even though Flandre was fairly light, about as heavy as a thin child, the weight of the little Vampire pressing on the wound hurt. A lot. Enough to open up the wounds. Compared to Remilia, Flandre was more focused on what did this to me so she could go out and kill it herself. I couldn't give her an answer since you know, I didn't know myself.

The talk was cut short due to Doctor Yagokoro escorting the little Vampire out. And with that the Mansion crew was gone... The Doctor redid the dressing, and let me know that I'll be staying in Eientei for a few days, maybe a week depending on how well I heal before leaving. Wait... Few days? A week? Didn't I suffer a near death experience? It's going to only take a few days at best? Medical science back home needs to take notes. Also... Who's going to pay for this? Am I going to pay for this? Uh oh... I... I guess I'm letting future me deal with that... Now I'm pretty sure if anyone finds this they would wonder how I was still writing my entries. Well that's the magic of Smart phones for you. I guess I'm writing the entries on my phone for the foreseeable future. Sure hope the battery lasts...
