Chapter 4: Unveiling Shadows
The room was cloaked in a deep, somber silence, carved only by the gentle clink of porcelain and glass. Inoichi Yamanka, his face a landscape of shadows and contemplation, poised a question into the quiet abyss.
"There is something else that you wanted to discuss, isn't there?" His voice held a certain warmth, tempered by years of experience, the undercurrent of urgency barely discernible. He then poured himself a shot of sake, the fiery liquid a stark contrast to the cool, austere ambiance of the room.
Tsunade, her eyes reflecting the gravity of their conversation, nodded subtly. "Yes, Naruto will not be journeying to the Mist alone. This is the only path we can tread to shield them from Danzo's clutches." Her voice trembled slightly with the weight of her words. "Danzo sees them as mere tools, potential weapons. He aims to resurrect the Uzumaki, Namikaze and the Uchiha clans to their former glory days, but under his control. He's cunning, he will either unravel the truth or stumble upon a copy of that scroll." As she spoke, she poured herself another cup of sake, the golden liquid shimmering under the dim light, a silent testament to their shared concerns.
Inoichi, his fingers tracing the rim of his sake cup, asked, "Who do you want to share this with them?" His voice echoed softly, punctuated by another shot of sake that disappeared down his throat.
Tsunade, her gaze steady, responded, "I entrust you with the task of revealing the truth to them. Share with them the true story of Naruto's past. Then I want her to commence training with Naruto, 'Cat', and 'Falcon'. I've prepared Naruto's training schedule, and I want her to join him." As she spoke, Tsunade handed Inoichi a scroll, the parchment crackling softly under her touch.
Inoichi nodded, tucking the scroll deftly into his pocket. "Ensure she understands the gravity of this knowledge. She mustn't reveal anything to anyone else. Only The Mist Village, and we should be privy to this truth, at least until she joins them. This is all I had to discuss. You may return to your duties." With that, Tsunade summoned her two Anbu guardians back into the room.
Inoichi departed, making his way through the quiet streets towards Naruto's home. Along the way, he mused over the dinner invitation he planned to extend to Naruto and his fiancée.
As Inoichi departed, Tsunade made a further request to her remaining Anbu. "I require Sasuke Uchiha and Mei's presence. Please fetch them for me." Without a word, one Anbu vanished to retrieve the last Uchiha, while another disappeared to find Mei.
Inoichi arrived at Naruto's home, his knuckles rapping softly against the wooden door. After a moment, the door opened to reveal Mei's welcoming face.
"Greetings. I am Inoichi Yamanka, Ino's father. I extend an invitation for you and Naruto to join my wife, Ino, and me for dinner." His offer was met with a bright, warm smile from Mei.
"We would be delighted to accept your kind invitation. I will inform Naruto." Mei's words hung in the air, a promise of camaraderie and shared meals.
"Dinner will be served around seven," Inoichi said, his parting words echoing in the still night air as he departed.
As soon as he left, an Anbu arrived with a message for Mei. "Lady Tsunade requests your presence." As Mei secured her home, they vanished in a swift body flicker, reappearing at the Hokage's Mansion.
Meanwhile, Sasuke had just wrapped up his training when an Anbu arrived with a similar message. "Lady Tsunade wishes to speak with you." Together, they vanished in a blur, reappearing at the Hokage's office.
"Sasuke, please wait in the hallway. I need to converse with the Mizukage first." Tsunade's voice was firm yet gentle as Sasuke obediently moved to wait in the hallway.
Tsunade then turned to Mei, her tone serious. "We discussed sabotaging Danzo and the council previously, but I have another plan in mind. I'd like you to take this individual with you, should you be willing." Tsunade handed Mei a scroll, revealing a face that widened her eyes in shock.
"She can join the Mist, but why her?" Mei asked, her voice a whisper of surprise.
"Inoichi will explain everything. He's likely to be in the same location, making it easier for you to soothe Naruto's temper when he hears the news," Tsunade explained, her lips curving into a small, knowing smile.
Mei nodded, her expression thoughtful."This may explain why we've been invited for dinner at the Yamanaka's house," Mei mused, her fingers trailing along the edge of the scroll.
"Thank you, Mei. The news might stir a tumultuous blend of emotions in them, especially Naruto. I suspect he might react with a mix of joy and anger. Please ensure you're there to support him," Tsunade said, a note of sincere concern etched into her voice.
"I will. I can only imagine how this information will impact them," Mei responded, her voice filled with a quiet resolve.
She then departed, leaving the Hokage's office to return home and share the news of their impending dinner with Naruto. The weight of their conversation hung heavy in the air, a silent testament to the challenges that lay ahead.
Tsunade's voice, heavy with the weight of unspoken secrets, echoed through the austere office. "Sasuke, you may enter now," she said, beckoning him into the room. Sasuke stepped forward, feeling a mixture of curiosity and apprehension.
"Yes, you called for me?" Sasuke's voice, guarded yet laced with a hint of curiosity, challenged the tense silence that hovered in the room.
"Indeed, we have a lot to discuss. Please, sit down. I suggest you fortify yourself with some of this," said Tsunade, pouring a generous measure of saki into two cups. Her hands trembled slightly as she pushed one of the cups towards Sasuke, a hint of the emotional storm brewing within her.
"Why the saki?" Sasuke questioned, his dark eyes narrowed, the wheels within his mind turning as he tried to anticipate the impending bad news.
Tsunade drew a deep breath, her gaze meeting Sasuke's with a somber intensity. "Before we delve into the heart of the matter, I need you to understand something. I don't trust Danzo. After our conversation, you may very well want him dead. He's going to try to manipulate you, offer you special training for your revenge against Itachi. He might even make you betray Naruto and force you to sire children, all in a bid to resurrect the Uchiha clan under his dominion."
Sasuke's fists clenched in silent fury. "I would rather die than let him control my clan."
Tsunade's expression hardened, her grip tightening around her own cup of sake. "He would be more than happy to kill you, but only after using you to his advantage. I intend to stop him, but I need your cooperation. That's why I'm transferring you to the Mist Village with Naruto."
Sasuke crossed his arms, a thoughtful expression etching itself onto his features. "I understand your perspective, but I also want to stay for the training I need to seek my revenge against Itachi."
Tsunade leaned forward, her eyes piercing into Sasuke's. "After I tell you the next part, you may not want that revenge anymore. If you let me handle this, we may be able to bring you and Itachi back together. But you have to trust me."
"Fine," Sasuke's voice was crisp, laced with resentment. "I accept."
Tsunade's gaze hardened. "Lose the attitude, brat," she warned, her hand slamming onto the desk with a resounding thud. Then, with a sigh, she slid two more cups of saki towards him. "You're going to need these."
Tsunade then began to weave a tale of suspicion and betrayal that followed the Nine-Tailed Fox's attack. She spoke of how the Uchiha clan was suspected to be behind the incident and how they were surveilled. She revealed plans of a coup led by Sasuke's father, and how it almost plunged the village into civil war.
Sasuke's heart pounded in his chest. "What are you trying to tell me?" he demanded, his voice rising in a crescendo of anger and disbelief.
Tsunade's expression was grim. "Your brother Itachi and his friend Shisui planned to use Shisui's genjutsu to prevent the war. However, Shisui was found dead, his eyes missing. People believed Itachi to be the culprit, but I know he's innocent. With Shisui gone, the only way to prevent civil war was to eradicate the Uchiha involved in the coup."
The revelation hit Sasuke like a punch in the gut. "So, you ordered Itachi to kill my clan! There must have been other ways!"
Tsunade sighed heavily, her gaze filled with regret. "The Third Hokage tried other ways, but Danzo and a few of the council members outvoted him. Itachi was ordered to spare innocent clan members and children, which he did. But someone else completed the massacre, leaving only you alive. All members of your clan had their eyes removed, some are missing. Whether they are dead or alive, I cannot say."
Sasuke's rage was palpable. "Where is Danzo? He will pay for this."
Tsunade held up a placating hand. "Listen, Sasuke. He will pay for his crimes. But we need proof. It may take time, but I promise you, we will make him pay. You need to trust me."
Sasuke muttered grudgingly, "Fine, I trust you. But what about Itachi?"
Tsunade's eyes softened, "He will remain undercover for now. Once we deal with the Akatsuki, he's free to live wherever he wants. That includes you in the Mist Village."
The rest of their conversation unfolded with revelations about Naruto's family and Tsunade's plan to unmask Danzo. As Sasuke left the office, Tsunade watched him, a fierce determination burning in her eyes. 'This is just the tip of the iceberg, Danzo. I relish the thought of your downfall. Our village will not remain under your shadow,' she thought, a grim smirk curling at the corners of her lips.
Meanwhile, Naruto, fresh from the shower and body still steaming, was slipping into his shirt when Mei walked into their shared bedroom.
"Naruto-kun, we're having dinner with the Yamanakas in twenty minutes," she announced, her voice dancing with anticipation.
"Alright, Mei-chan," Naruto responded, his voice mellow as he finished buttoning his shirt, his mind already toying with the idea of a pleasant evening with friends. He was oblivious to the storm of revelations that was about to come his way, a storm that would change the course of their lives.
A full twenty minutes later, beneath the cloak of dusk, Naruto and Mei found themselves at the doorstep of Ino's house. Naruto sensed an undercurrent of unspoken tension in Mei's demeanor, as if she was hiding a secret that danced on her lips, but he chose not to probe. The politics of the Kages had a way of weaving complex webs, and he felt it wise to steer clear.
The Yamanaka compound emerged before them, a sprawling labyrinth of traditional architecture that echoed with the ancient wisdom of the clan. After a brief interaction with a Yamanaka guard, they were directed towards Inoichi's residence. A short walk through a maze of pathways bathed in the warm light of hanging lanterns led them to the largest dwelling within the compound, a grand traditional house that exuded both power and elegance. Naruto, with a sense of trepidation and curiosity, rapped his knuckles against the intricately carved wooden door.
Inoichi, a man of warmth and wisdom, greeted them with a welcoming smile that seemed to light up the threshold. His voice, rich with kindness, flowed through the air as he ushered them inside, "So pleased you could join us. Ino and Kokoro are busy in the kitchen. Make yourselves at home."
As Naruto and Mei stepped into the comforting warmth of the house, they responded in chorus, "Thank you."
"So, Naruto, how's your training?" Inoichi asked, his eyes twinkling with interest.
With a wide grin that barely contained his pride, Naruto replied, "It's going pretty well. I'm developing a new Rasengan - the Vanishing Rasengan. It's a technique where I can throw the Rasengan, and it disappears before resurfacing upon hitting its target. It's a work in progress, but I'm making strides."
Inoichi's smile widened. "That sounds fascinating. Perhaps you can demonstrate it before you set off to the Mist," he suggested, his voice laced with anticipation.
"I'd love to," Naruto replied, his eyes shimmering with excitement.
Meanwhile, Mei had disappeared into the kitchen, lending a hand to Ino and Kokoro as they prepared the feast. Soon enough, the dining room table was laden with a myriad of dishes, and the air was filled with the mouthwatering aroma of home-cooked food. As they all settled into their seats and began to serve themselves, the evening fell into a comfortable rhythm.
The conversation flowed like a gentle stream, meandering from training tales to personal anecdotes and jokes. Naruto regaled them with stories of his notorious pranks, and the women engaged in a lively discussion about different varieties of flowers. Laughter filled the room, and the warmth of companionship staved off the evening chill.
As the dinner concluded, Naruto and Mei expressed their gratitude for the delicious meal. Inoichi, however, had something serious to discuss. He led them to the living room, a space filled with the soft hues of twilight filtering in through the traditional paper windows. The atmosphere grew solemn, and a hush fell over the room.
Once everyone was settled, Inoichi began, "Naruto, the Hokage has given me permission to discuss your heritage and the Nine Tails, as it's tied to something else crucial that you both need to be aware of."
Naruto nodded, his expression resolute. "If she gave you permission, then I'm ready to hear it," Naruto stated, his voice steady as he offered a sincere smile.
"Ino, what do you understand about the Kyuubi?" Inoichi posed the question to his daughter, his eyes serious.
"I know that the Fourth Hokage defeated the Kyuubi, otherwise known as the Nine-Tailed Fox," Ino answered, her voice confident, though an undercurrent of uncertainty ran through her words.
Inoichi sighed, a soft sound that filled the room with a profound intensity. "The reality is, tailed beasts cannot truly be killed. They can, however, be sealed within a human host, preferably a newborn, whose chakra network is still developing," he explained, his gaze fixed on Ino, watching her absorb this new information.
Ino's eyes widened, her mind racing as she connected the dots. "Are you suggesting... Naruto has the Kyuubi sealed within him?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper, her eyes darting between her father and Naruto, seeking confirmation.
Kokoro stepped in, her voice steady, "Yes, the Fourth Hokage sealed the Kyuubi into Naruto."
Ino's heart pounded in her chest, her mind reeling as she sought to reconcile this revelation with her understanding of Naruto. "Is that why everyone warned their children to keep their distance? I assumed it was because of his pranks," she admitted, her voice tinged with disbelief.
Inoichi nodded solemnly. "Yes, that's why they fear him, instead of treating him like the hero he is."
"But why would Naruto's parents allow the Fourth Hokage to seal the Kyuubi into Naruto?" Ino asked, her voice wavering with the weight of the question.
Naruto answered, his voice quiet yet resolute, "The Fourth Hokage couldn't ask anyone else to make such a sacrifice if he wasn't willing to make the same for his own child."
Recognition dawned on Ino's face. "That means... you're their son!" she exclaimed, a mix of shock and realization etched on her features.
Inoichi confirmed her realization, but his expression was grave as he added, "There's something else you both need to know." Naruto and Ino turned their attention to him, their faces reflecting the gravity of the situation.
Mei reached over, gently taking Naruto's hand in a silent promise of support, her gaze unwavering.
Inoichi took a deep breath before delivering the final revelation. "Minato Namikaze and Kushina Uzumaki didn't only have a son, Ino. You are Naruto's twin sister. You will also be moving to the Mist Village, to protect you from Danzo and the council. They will try to use you to get to Naruto." His voice carried a note of sadness, and his eyes were filled with a regret that was not his to bear.
Ino's breath hitched, her eyes welling up with tears as the implications of this news sank in. "Please tell me you're joking," she whispered, her voice barely audible.
Inoichi's expression was filled with sympathy as he shook his head. "I'm afraid not, Ino," he said gently, the truth hanging heavy in the air, irrevocable and life-altering.
"Why did you shield me from the truth? Why couldn't Naruto and I have grown up together, knowing we were siblings?" Ino's voice cracked as she yelled, her words punctuated by the bitter sting of tears. Each syllable echoed in the room, a testament to her pain and betrayal.
Kokoro's voice was a quiet murmur in the room, heavy with sorrow as she responded, "We adopted you to protect you from Danzo. By the time we realized the danger, it was too late for Naruto. Danzo was present when Minato sealed the Kyuubi into Naruto."
Naruto sat, petrified in his shock. His mind swirled with the revelation. All along he had a family, a twin sister, and yet he had endured a life of solitude and loneliness.
Ino, her heart heavy with betrayal and confusion, fled from the house, her sobs trailing behind her. Inoichi made to follow her, but Naruto held up a hand.
"May I speak to her alone?" Naruto asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
"Of course, Naruto," Kokoro said, her smile gentle and understanding.
"Mei, I'll meet you at home," Naruto said, rising from his seat and quickly exiting the house.
Left behind in the room, Mei offered a comforting smile. "You need not worry about Ino. She'll be cared for, especially now that Naruto will want to spend time with her." With that, she too left the Yamanaka residence.
Under the soft glow of the moon, Naruto found Ino. She sat beneath the shadow of a tree, her shoulders shaking with quiet sobs. Silently, he joined her, their shoulders touching as he sat next to her under the vast night sky.
"I can't believe they kept this from us," Ino murmured, bitterness and hurt lacing her words.
"They had their reasons," Naruto said quietly, his voice a soothing balm to her distress.
"I wish...I wish we could have grown up together. As brother and sister." Ino's voice was thick with longing and regret.
"We can spend the rest of our lives as brother and sister," Naruto offered, his heart aching as he tried to offer her some comfort.
Ino turned to him, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. "I'm sorry, Naruto. I'm sorry for how I treated you."
"It's okay. You didn't know. I forgive you," Naruto assured her, his voice soft and understanding.
"I think we should get to know each other better," Ino suggested. "We can share our pasts, our likes, and dislikes. Our hobbies."
"That sounds great. But only if you start training with me, 'Falcon', and 'Cat'. We can bond while learning our heritage techniques," Naruto countered with a small smile.
"I would like that," Ino replied, a faint smile playing on her lips despite the tears.
Naruto's eyes flickered with curiosity as he asked, "What are the things you're passionate about, Ino? Your hobbies, likes, and dislikes?"
Ino tilted her head, a soft smile dancing on her lips as she contemplated. "Well, I've always been drawn to the beauty of flowers, their delicate petals and intoxicating scent. I enjoy losing myself in the pages of a good book, spending hours with my friends, and now, relishing the newfound bond with my brother. As for my dislikes, I abhor bullies, the council's arrogance, and those who exploit or harm others. My hobbies are a reflection of my likes – tending to my garden, reading, spending time with loved ones, cooking delicious meals, practicing yoga, and finding peace in meditation. What about you, Naruto?" She asked, her smile growing wider.
Naruto's face softened at her words. "I share your love for flowers and mine beautiful Mei-Chan. I enjoy the camaraderie of friends, the time spent with my sister, and the satisfaction of training hard. I despise those who can't tell the difference between a weapon and a tool, those who harm others, and the council. My hobbies include training, reading, spending time with friends, Mei-Chan, my sister, gardening, playing pranks, cooking, and meditating. Since we're sharing, what's your favorite color and food?" He asked, a playful twinkle in his eyes.
Ino laughed, "My favorite color is the rich hue of lavender, and cherry tomatoes are my absolute favorite. I already know your favorites, Naruto. But I'm curious, how was your life before today?"
"I'll share my past, but only after you've shared yours. I warn you, mine isn't a happy tale," Naruto replied, his smile tinged with sadness.
Ino took a deep breath, her eyes reflecting a mixture of nostalgia and anxiety. "I led a normal life, complete with birthday parties, a pet dog, and a cat. I've been training with my adopted parents since I was four, and I help at my parents' flower shop. Despite appearances, I'm quite shy about asking anyone out. I fear rejection, even though I don't show it," Ino confessed.
Naruto reached out and gently squeezed her hand. "Rejection is a part of life, Ino. Don't let it deter you. You are beautiful, and anyone would be lucky to have you."
Ino blushed and quickly changed the topic, "Thank you, Naruto. Now, what about your life?"
Naruto's smile faded as he began his story. "Every year on my birthday, I would wake up to a ransacked house, walls smeared with hateful words like 'die demon' and 'kill yourself'. Most stores wouldn't even let me step in, let alone sell me anything. When I was four, Orochimaru offered to train me, but his training was more like cruel experiments, the nightmares of which still haunt me. I was kicked out of the orphanage at just two years old."
Ino's eyes welled up with tears as Naruto paused, silently offering her comfort before asking, "Do you want me to stop?"
"No," Ino said, her voice choked with emotion, "I want to know everything."
He continued, "Even the few stores that did let me in overcharged me or sold me old goods. Parents would keep their children away from me. I'm constantly on guard, as a group of S rank Shinobi wants the tailed beast I possess. Then there's Danzo who wants to use me as a weapon. But things are looking up. I've made friends, discovered that I have a twin sister, and learned who our parents were."
"I won't let them hurt you," Ino said, her voice resolute, a fierce determination in her eyes.
"Let's get you home, your parents must be worried," Naruto suggested, his smile returning.
Ino hesitated before asking, "Can I stay with you and Mei for a few nights?"
"Of course, I don't think Mei-Chan will mind," Naruto said with a smile. "Let's gather some of your clothes and head home."
As they walked towards Ino's house, the night air was filled with a comfortable silence, a testament to their deepening bond.
After a few moments of wandering through the labyrinthine network of streets, the rhythmic echo of their footfalls against the cobblestones serving as their only soundtrack, they finally found themselves standing before the quaint facade of Ino's house.
"Mom, Dad," Ino began, her voice echoing with a newfound maturity, "I understand now why you've chosen to keep me in the dark, and I hold no resentment. From today, I'll be commencing my training with Naruto." Her smile was like a sunrise, a radiant beacon of acceptance and forgiveness.
Inoichi, her father, met her smile with one of his own, his eyes twinkling like the first stars of twilight. "We appreciate your understanding, Naruto. Truly, we do."
"No need for thanks," Naruto replied with a modest shrug, a faint dusting of pink spreading across his cheeks.
"I'll be staying at Naruto's place for the next few nights," Ino announced, a flutter of excitement dancing in her chest. "I want to better understand him, if that's alright with you."
Kokoro, her mother, replied with a warm, encouraging nod. "Of course, dear."
Ino ascended the worn wooden stairs to her room, each step creaking under her weight like an old lullaby. After a brisk twenty-minute walk lined with conversations and laughter, they found themselves standing before Naruto's home, a charming two-story house nestled amidst a sea of cherry blossom trees.
"This place was once a sanctuary for our parents," Naruto said, a soft note of nostalgia seeping into his words. He gestured for Ino to enter first.
Ino's breath hitched as she stepped inside. The interior was an architectural masterpiece – high ceilings, wooden beams, and a grand staircase that spiraled up to the second floor. The decor was a pleasant mix of traditional and modern, creating an ambiance of comfort and elegance.
"This place is remarkable, hi Mei. I hope you don't mind me staying here for a few days," Ino said, her eyes wide with admiration.
"Feel free to make yourself at home anytime," Mei replied with a welcoming smile that warmed the room.
"I'll give you a grand tour tomorrow, but for now, let me show you your room," Naruto offered, his eyes twinkling with a sense of pride. He led Ino across the polished wooden floors, their footsteps echoing softly against the walls adorned with family portraits and landscape paintings.
"Each bedroom has its own luxurious ensuite bathroom. Whenever you choose to stay over, this will be your sanctuary. And during our visits, this will be our home base, although you're always welcome to stay at your parents' if you prefer," Naruto explained, pushing open an elaborately carved wooden door to reveal a spacious bedroom.
The room was bathed in a gentle glow from the afternoon sun filtering through the large bay windows. A four-poster bed, adorned with plush pillows and a cozy quilt, sat invitingly in the middle. The walls were painted a soothing shade of pastel blue, complementing the rustic wooden furniture scattered around. A vanity desk sat against one wall, a mirror reflecting the room's serene ambiance. A plush armchair sat by the window – a perfect reading nook. A door at the corner led to what Naruto had mentioned was the ensuite bathroom.
Ino gasped, stepping into the room. "This room is enormous!"
Promising her a hearty breakfast and a tour of the extensive property in the morning, Naruto bid her goodnight, his comforting smile a beacon of reassurance. "Sleep well, Ino."
"Goodnight, brother," Ino replied, her voice an affectionate whisper in the spacious room.
With Naruto's retreat to his own quarters, Ino was left alone in her new sanctuary. The soft murmur of the wind through the cherry blossom trees outside her window served as a gentle lullaby, lulling her into a peaceful sleep.
The following morning, Ino awoke to the tantalizing scent of breakfast. Refreshed from her shower in the ensuite bathroom – a modern space of gleaming porcelain and warm, ambient lighting – she wrapped herself in a plush bathrobe and ventured downstairs.
The kitchen was a bustling dance of culinary delight. Naruto maneuvered around the space with a practiced ease, his hands creating magic over the stove. "Mei-Chan, can you pass me the salt and pepper?" he asked, his attention fixed on the rich, thick gravy he was stirring.
"Sure, Naruto-Kun," Mei replied, her hands expertly shaping the biscuit dough before handing him the requested seasonings.
Ino's stomach grumbled in anticipation. "Smells amazing, what's cooking?"
"Biscuits smothered in rich gravy, fluffy eggs, and crispy bacon," Naruto announced, placing a steaming plate before her. "Would you like some coffee to go with it?"
"Yes, please," Ino responded, her smile spreading at the breakfast feast before her.
As she savored her meal, Naruto and Mei joined her at the rustic dining table, their plates piled high with the delicious breakfast and cups filled with steaming beverages.
"What's on the agenda today?" Ino asked, taking a sip of her coffee. The rich, robust flavor mingling with the savory breakfast rendered her nearly speechless.
Before Naruto could answer, there was a knock on the door. "Excuse me for a moment," Naruto said, pushing back his chair and heading towards the entrance.
Upon opening the door, Naruto was met by the sight of Sasuke, his dark eyes glinting with a hint of curiosity. "So this is your family's house," Sasuke remarked, a knowing smirk playing on his lips.
Naruto tried to brush it off, feigning ignorance. "What do you mean by 'family's house'?"
"The Hokage informed me that it would be beneficial if you revealed everything to me, considering the recent developments regarding my clan," Sasuke explained, his tone serious.
Naruto nodded, a knowing smile spreading across his face. "Very well, I'll tell you everything. But in return, you'll have to spill your secrets too."
"Deal," Sasuke agreed, his smirk now mirroring Naruto's.
After extending an invitation to Sasuke for breakfast, Naruto led him to the living room, where the aroma of the morning meal still lingered. "Coffee?" Naruto asked, pouring Sasuke a cup.
"Yes, please," Sasuke responded, accepting the steaming cup with a nod.
After a few minutes of everyone eating and engaging in casual conversation, Naruto decided it was time for some privacy. He summoned his clones to clean up the breakfast mess before turning to the ladies.
"Sasuke and I need to have a chat. Would you mind going shopping for a bit?"
Naruto asked, his voice laced with a subtle urgency. His smile, however, was relaxed and reassuring.
"Sure, that sounds like a wonderful idea. It will give Mei and me a chance to bond. See you later," Ino said. She approached Naruto, wrapping him in a warm hug before leaving the room with Mei.
With the ladies gone, Naruto turned to Sasuke, his smile evolving into a more serious expression. "I'll explain all in due course," he promised.
Over the next half-hour, Naruto and Sasuke delved into their respective stories, each revelation more shocking than the last.
"I still can't believe that Ino is your twin sister and that she'll be joining the Mist," Sasuke said, his eyes wide with disbelief.
Naruto nodded, equally surprised by Sasuke's own revelations. "I knew Itachi was a spy for Jiraiya, but I had no idea about the rest. I'm just glad you're with us now. Itachi keeps Jiraiya and me updated on the Akatsuki."
Sasuke's expression grew somber. "There's one person we need to keep a close eye on, though. Danzo."
Naruto hummed in agreement. "Definitely. But you know what? I have an idea. Why don't we pull a prank on him?"
Sasuke blinked, taken aback. "Naruto, a prank won't solve our problems."
Naruto chuckled, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "Like Kakashi-sensei always says, look underneath the underneath. We're not just going to pull a prank; we're also going to figure out his plans. That could give us an advantage."
Sasuke stared at Naruto for a moment before a slow smile spread across his face. "That's...actually a good idea. I can't believe I'm going along with this, but let's prank this son of a bitch."
While Naruto and Sasuke were engrossed in devising their plan, Mei and Ino decided to pay a visit to a nearby store. As they perused the various items, Ino's eyes caught sight of a striking bracelet—a blue band adorned with a black kanji symbolizing the everlasting bond of siblings.
"Can I have those bracelets, please?" Ino eagerly asked the shopkeeper, her anticipation palpable. The bracelets held a significant meaning for her.
"They are absolutely perfect for both of you," Mei chimed in, her face beaming with genuine delight.
Ino couldn't help but wonder aloud, "Do you think he'll like it?"
Mei responded assuredly, "Of course he will. It's a thoughtful gesture that symbolizes your unbreakable connection."
With the bracelets secured, Ino expressed her gratitude to the shopkeeper and rejoined Mei, making their way back to the house. Meanwhile, Naruto and Sasuke had just concluded their planning session.
As they all gathered at the house, Sasuke couldn't resist a playful inquiry, "So, how does it feel to have a twin?"
Naruto, wearing a warm smile, addressed Ino, "Ino, I understand why you didn't tell me about Mei joining the Mist Village. It's okay."
Ino's smile widened, and she began to share her thoughts, "I wish we had known about our connection earlier, Naruto. Growing up together in the same household would have been wonderful. Imagine the adventures we could have had, and the team we could have formed."
Naruto's eyes sparkled with excitement as he responded, "We would have been an unbeatable team, Ino. Our bond would have made us unstoppable."
Mei's face lit up with delight as she observed the sheer happiness emanating from Naruto, Ino, and Sasuke upon receiving the news. A broad smile adorned her face as she eagerly spoke up, eager to share the exciting revelation.
"You won't believe it, but the three of you will still be an incredible team! You're going to be placed together on a team, and my friend's fiancé will be your Sensei," Mei exclaimed, her voice brimming with enthusiasm.
Ino's eyes sparkled as she chimed in, "Oh, I almost forgot! I got another bracelet to match ours." She presented Naruto with a bracelet, adorned with the kanji symbolizing eternal siblinghood, her smile reflecting her genuine affection.
Wearing a grateful expression, Naruto responded, "Thank you, sis. I'll cherish it and wear it every day."
Curiosity brimming within him, Sasuke inquired about their new Sensei, prompting Mei to enlighten them with a grin on her face.
"Your new Sensei will be Kisame Hoshigaki," Mei revealed, her voice brimming with excitement.
"He's a renowned member of the fearsome seven Swordsmen of the Mist, eight if you want to included me," Naruto interjected, his eagerness evident. "Kisame possesses a unique Shark Summoning contract and wields the legendary Samehada sword. He's known as the tailed beast without a tail and the infamous 'monster of the Mist.'"
Mei nodded in agreement, adding more details, "That's right. Kisame's bond with Samehada has granted him the ability to breathe underwater through gills. And if you manage to push him to his limits, he can even merge with Samehada, transforming into a formidable human-shark hybrid."
"Ah, I can see that you've been putting those books to good use. Everything you've mentioned is indeed true," Mei stated, a smile gracing her face. She reached into a bag and retrieved two Mist forehead protectors and two scrolls.
"I have something for both Ino and Sasuke," she continued, her voice filled with anticipation. "These are your new forehead protectors. Remember, you can only wear them on the day we leave, and you mustn't disclose our departure to anyone. Lady Tsunade will inform your friends the night before we depart. We'll be having a cookout here the night before as well. Ino, it's important that you keep your identity as Naruto's twin a secret. Inside the scroll, you'll find books that Naruto has been reading about Mist history, laws, and other aspects of the Mist village."
With a warm smile, Mei handed Ino and Sasuke a forehead protector each, along with a scroll containing the books.
"We understand," Sasuke and Ino concurred in unison.
Mei maintained her smile as she continued, "Your Sensei will indeed impart the Mist village techniques and other valuable knowledge to all of you. Zabuza has graciously offered to teach you some things, Naruto, as a wedding gift. And regarding your inquiry about finding someone to assist you in controlling... you-know-what, Utakata would be an ideal candidate since he shares a similar experience. Additionally, Ao will provide training in various areas."
Naruto beamed and replied, "Sasuke already knows about the tailed beast sealed within me, so there's no need for discretion. Thank you, Mei-chan."
Naruto's face lit up with mischievous delight as he posed a question, "How would you guys like to help Sasuke and me pull off a farewell prank on Danzo and the council?"
Ino, slightly skeptical, responded, "Sasuke, I thought you considered pranks to be stupid."
A smirk played on Sasuke's lips as he replied, "The dobe and I have devised a plan that necessitates a few pranks."
Mei, with a sly expression, chimed in, "I wouldn't mind lending a hand, especially considering my disdain for Danzo."
Ino, her curiosity piqued, smiled and said, "Since I want to strengthen our bond, count me in for the farewell prank. So, when do we execute it?"
Naruto grinned mischievously and revealed his plan, "We'll carry out the prank on the night before we leave. But just as we're about to depart, it will all come together, and trust me, you'll understand why."
Mei, eager to know the details, inquired, "So, what exactly is the prank, and how do we intend to carry it out?"
Naruto, realizing that everyone's hunger had coincidentally aligned, suggested, "Why don't we prepare some lunch first? We can discuss the plan while we eat." As if on cue, Naruto's stomach growled loudly, prompting laughter from the group. Soon enough, the rumbling of their own stomachs followed suit.
Agreeing with the idea, Mei chuckled and said, "It seems our stomachs are demanding attention. Let's satisfy our hunger and strategize over a meal." The group moved towards the kitchen, their laughter carrying through the air as they prepared lunch and eagerly awaited the opportunity to hatch their prank plan.
I got another bracelet to match ours." She presented Naruto with a bracelet, adorned with the kanji symbolizing eternal sibling hood, her smile reflecting her genuine affection.

The group moved towards the kitchen, their laughter carrying through the air as they prepared lunch and eagerly awaited the opportunity to hatch their prank plan.
Sasuke, ever the taciturn and reserved, responded with a simple nod. But even he couldn't resist a small smile at their shared amusement. Naruto and Ino promptly started pulling out various ingredients from the fridge and pantry, their actions almost synchronized, showing the depth of their bond and understanding.
The kitchen soon filled with the sound of chopping and simmering, and the aroma of the impending feast. Naruto and Ino worked seamlessly together, their playful banter and laughter bouncing off the walls. Sasuke, surprisingly, found himself assisting Mei, both quietly working in their own corner.
"Watch out, Naruto, or you might lose a finger," Ino joked, making a swipe at the blonde ninja who was trying to steal a slice of freshly chopped tomato. Naruto let out a hearty laugh, swerving just in time to avoid her 'attack'.
The cooking, filled with jesting and teasing, was a delightful distraction from the tension that had been building up. As the food started to come together, the air was filled with a comfortable warmth that was not solely from the stove.
Once everyone was seated around the table, they shared a moment of appreciation for the meal. Sasuke, who was usually reluctant to show emotion, gave a brief nod of acknowledgement towards Naruto and Ino, which was as good as a heartfelt compliment coming from him.
As they began eating, the conversation flowed naturally, from trivial matters to past missions, each person contributing to the conversation. Mei showed her caring side, reminding Ino to eat her vegetables while subtly placing more onto her plate. Naruto and Sasuke, in their own way, engaged in a silent eating competition, much to the amusement of the others.
After the meal, they all leaned back, satisfaction evident on their faces. Naruto wiped his mouth with the back of his hand, his eyes sparkling with mischief. The room fell silent, everyone's attention focusing on him.
"Now, listen closely," Naruto declared, his voice filled with determination. Ino and Mei, their bellies full from a satisfying meal, eagerly leaned in to hear Naruto and Sasuke's plan to prank Danzo and the council. The room was charged with excitement as they prepared to unleash their mischievous scheme.
Meanwhile, in the dimly lit chamber, shadows danced along the walls as Danzo, the shrewd and enigmatic figure, sat in a high-backed chair, his eyes narrowed with suspicion. His mind was consumed by thoughts of Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha, the troublesome duo who seemed to constantly disrupt his carefully laid plans.
"Lord Danzo, The Hokage is up to something," a whisper emerged from the darkness, a voice dripping with sinister implications. It belonged to a shadowy informant, ever-loyal to Danzo's cause. "All I know is that it has something to do with Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, Ino Yamanaka."
Meanwhile, Danzo's eyes narrowed further as he considered this revelation. His fingers drummed impatiently on the arm of his chair, betraying his growing unease. "What will Lord Danzo care about the Yamanaka girl?" another shadowy figure questioned, skepticism lacing their voice. "It has nothing to do with his plans for The Uchiha and Uzumaki brats."
A flicker of intrigue passed over Danzo's face, his mind working tirelessly to connect the dots. "That's false," he countered, his voice dripping with calculated certainty. "If she is planning something that involves those three, then the girl must have some connection to the Uchiha, the Uzumaki, or both. I want you to discover what she is plotting and how it ties into my weapons."
As the two shadow figures received their orders, their forms began to dissolve into the darkness, leaving Danzo alone with his thoughts. A steely resolve settled upon him, his gaze hardened with determination. "You and Itachi won't stop me from obtaining my weapons," he silently vowed, his mind consumed by a relentless pursuit. "I will have them under my control, one way or another."
