There was only one thing that could be the result of his actions, death. Kavah knew that if he continued on this path of action there would likely be another execution added onto the day's schedule. His. He continued towards the brig again to gather his last piece of information, something that will confirm his heretical thoughts. He opened the door and stepped inside. The Minor stationed at the main console turned to face him with a questioning expression on his face. Kavah simply nodded to him and walked over.

"Ranger? What can I do for you?" The Minor asked as he glanced over Kavah's shoulder.

"I am here for the final preparations for the execution. Do we have the surveillance data on the Imp while he has been contained?" Kavah asked as he glanced over to the Imps cell. He was sitting at the back corner, nodding his head while mumbling to himself. Kavah approached the cell slowly, interested in what the Imp was doing. Getting closer he could hear what the Imp was saying. He stopped abruptly as he made eye contact with Kavah and glared at him.

"The fuck do you want split-lip?!" He shouted angrily. Kavah raised his head as a gesture for the Imp to get closer. He stood up and slowly approached the shield wall, the only thing that separated them.

Kavah finally had a chance to look over the Human that had convinced a Zealot to heresy. There was conviction in his eyes. There was hatred too. Kavah opened his maw to speak before the shuffling of the Minor behind him caught his breath. Not now. He slowly turned his head towards the exit while continuing to stare at the Imp. When he broke eye contact he looked to the exit for a few moments. He hoped the message would get through as he turned back to look at the Imp and nodded slowly.

The Imp looked from Kavah to the door several times looking just as angry as before until it dawned on him what Kavah was suggesting.

"You too?" The Imp asked quietly as Kavah took a step back.

"Minor, do you have that data?" Kavah asked aloud without looking away.

"Aye sir. I have it here ready for you." Kavah clicked his mandibles several times before slowly nodding to the Imp. He turned back to the Minor and approached the console.

"Send the data to my helmet. I will observe it while I tend to my other duties." Kavah replied with a nod as he watched the data stream from the console to his display.

"If I may sir? What do you need this data for?" The Minor asked.

"I have my reasons Minor, reasons that do not include your knowledge." Kavah replied without looking over. The Minor bowed his head slowly before Kavah made for the exit once again. He slowly wandered through the halls of the Intent as the audio and video played from a small section of his helmet. For a long time there was nothing of interest, the Imp was simply sitting in his cell doing nothing, until a few units in. Kavah stopped as he watched the Imp pull some sort of device off of his wrist. The device was housing two small objects which the Imp placed into his ears.

Once the objects were in his ears the Imp began tapping on the device on his wrist. Some sort of communicator! He continued to watch and listen for if the Imp was able to speak to his fellow Humans they could plan some sort of rescue. The Imp rested his head on the back wall and sighed before he simply started rocking his head side to side. He was not speaking to anyone so perhaps it was not a communicator after all.

Kavah stepped to the side of the hallway, letting his fellow Sangheili pass as they gave him a confused look. He ignored them and continued to watch the Imp as he began mumbling to himself. It sounded almost like he was singing? Kavah had never heard of humans writing songs. Their history did not need to be recorded so why was he singing?

Kavah began moving back towards the living quarters to speak to Tz'eal, to tell him of his family's fate while continuing to listen to the Imp quietly singing. There was something about the tone of his voice. He sounded confident but sad at the same time. As though he knew what was going to happen and was prepared but still did not want it to happen. Perhaps the Imp hoped something would happen or someone would save him? Little did he know.

Kavah reached Tz'eals quarters and raised his hand to knock on the door when The Imp drew his attention fully. He had begun singing a song that Kavah knew all too well. Kavah rapidly knocked on the door, impatiently waiting for Tz'eal to open.

"What is it now?" Tz'eal asked as the door opened with a hiss.

"I have something you must see, Zealot. It is important." Kavah explained as he stepped inside, almost shoving Tz'eal out of the way to gain entry. Tz'eal growled as he closed the door and followed behind Kavah.

"Lock it, please. This is very important to both you and our mutual friend." Kavah said quietly as he glanced back to the door. Tz'eal tilted his head and stared at Kavah quietly before stepping back to the door and pressing his palm to the console, locking the door so that no other could enter the room.

"Locked. Now explain Kavah. What has happened?" Tz'eal asked, sounding very confused.

"I have spoken to the Ship Master, the Lore Master and I have seen the Imp. I have some information for you. Something you really need to know." Kavah explained as he took his helmet off and placed it down next to Tz'eals main display. He linked his helmet to the display and brought up the data of the Imp in his cell.

"What has Drake…the Imp told you? Remember that all he spouts is lies and he should not be taken seriously." Tz'eal said, trying to sound as confident as possible.

"You do not believe that do you?" Kavah asked brazenly as he turned to look at Tz'eal. Tz'eal glanced up at Kavah before looking to the floor again. He did not know. He wanted to return to his friend. To help him escape and fight their way out back to the UNSC and pretend as if he had not betrayed him. But he could not change what he had done. There was no going back.

"'You are dead to me.' That is what the Imp said to me last. I do not think there is anything I can say or do, regardless of what I believe that will turn things around. I have betrayed my own people, betrayed the people that trusted me and betrayed my brother in arms. It may be better for me to throw myself from the hangar bay and let gravity decide my fate." Tz'eal said, sounding defeated.

"There are things in play that will change how everyone looks at the events that have unfolded. Here, take a look at this." Kavah added with a nod, looking to Tz'eal as the recording began to play of the Imp, Drake, singing in his cell.

"There's nothing left to lose. The Fight will never end. I can not face the Dark without you. Holding the hand that holds me down. I forgive you. I forget you. Until the end. Holding the hand that holds me down. I forgive you. I forget you. Until the end." Drake sang quietly. Tz'eal looked up at the display slowly, he recalled his own behavior when he entered the brig in Destiny. He began singing lore songs of his people to calm himself when he was unsure of his future. Did Drake record him and learn one of the songs of his people?

"When did this happen?" Tz'eal asked, sounding surprised.

"While he was in his cell. I went to speak to him, to find out what kind of Human was able to convince a Zealot to become heretical. He was quite angry which is reasonable considering his location but he seems ready for his impending execution." Kavah explained.

"And when is that set for?" Tz'eal asked quietly, not wanting to know the time but knew it would be sooner rather than later.

"It is set for the end of Unit. But there is other information I must make you aware of Tz'eal." Kavah replied quietly, turning to look at Tz'eal.

"What has happened Kavah? Is there something going on that I am not aware of?" Tz'eal asked.

Kavah let out a long sigh and shook his head as he considered what to say first out of all the bad news he was about to break.

"First his execution is not the only one planned for the end of Unit. The Ship Master has ordered your execution also. You are a heretic. Heresy does not stand and must be punished. Secondly…I…" Kavah trailed off. He did not want to inform Tz'eal of the fate of his family. He was not one to break bad news to his brethren and this could send Tz'eal over an edge he would not recover from.

"What is it, Kavah? Tell me."

"Your family is all dead. Clan N'Thanalm is all but wiped out. As of right now you are the sole survivor and upon your death your clan will be no more." Kavah explained slowly. He watched as Tz'eals hearts sank. Tz'eal stumbled backwards and sat down on his cot staring at the floor. He was the last of his line.

"Who?" Was all he could muster to ask, wanting to know who had placed the order against his family.

"The Prophet of Truth placed the order for their execution upon the discovery of your heresy. Afraid they would breed more heretics he ended their lives and knew that, upon your eventual execution, your line would end." Kavah explained.

Tz'eal closed his eyes and sighed. Anger bubbling in his chest as he clenched his fists. His course of action was solely to protect his family, the family he had already lost. And in doing so he had lost his newest family. Drake had taken him in, the UNSC had given him rank and respect. Foolishly he had thrown all of that away.

"I need you to help me Kavah. I need you to make sure they do not get the satisfaction of killing Drake and I. I want you to end me here and now then go to his cell and kill him swiftly too. I will not allow them to make a scene out of us both." Tz'eal asked quietly, condemning himself to death.

"No." Kavah replied bluntly which caught Tz'eals attention.

"You and I are going to gather the Im…Drake's belongings and make our escape. We either keep hidden and escape quietly or fight our way out. But we are not staying here. I am not leaving you here to die."

Tz'eal blinked in shock at Kavahs words. He had been given and taken a second chance at a life within the Covenant, and now after a second meeting with Tz'eal he was willing to become a heretic all over again.

"Why? Why would you do this? You know what they did to my family, they will do the same to you! Are you willing to be the reason behind the death of your entire family?" Tz'eal asked, sounding argumentative.

"Deception is not our way Tz'eal. From the moment they were made aware of you being on this planet they have deceived you at every step. Promising the safety of you. Promising your honor remains intact, promising that your family would be honored once again. All the while they had already killed your family and intended on killing you and making a display of it. We have lost our way Tz'eal and it is about time someone does something about it." Kavah replied confidently, he slowly walked back to the door and prepared himself for its opening.

"So if it is time for someone to do something about it, what are we going to do?" Tz'eal asked as he too moved to the door.

"We are going to become the thing they hate the most. We are going to continue on your path, the correct path. We are going to be Heretics."
