Toshinori's Choice

Chapter seventeen: Moving into the dorms, discussing alternate events, and training for provisional license exams

Class 1-A of UA High School stood outside of their new dorm building, where they were met up by Aizawa. "I don't have a lot of time as I've got a meeting that I need to get to," Aizawa said to his students, "There's a lot of intel that us members of the UA staff need to go over. First off, the training at the summer camp was supposed to help with getting you your provisional hero licences, but the attack by the villains led by that Dabi fellow had nixed that. As such, we'll soon be doing extra training as discussion on taking the Provisional Licence Exams are discussed."

The underground hero saw that there was general discussion among his students, a lot of which sounded interested. "Secondly," Aizawa went on, his tone taking a more serious hint, "I got it that Jiro, Hagakure, and Ashido had all snuck off on an unsanctioned mission to rescue Yaoyorozu from Dabi and his group." The three girls in question all flinched. "You three are damn lucky this isn't publicly known," Aizawa continued, "It would look rather unfavorably on UA if any of its hero course students were seen acting outside of the law."

The mood was dropping fast, but Aizawa was not quite yet done reading his students the riot act. "Things have been covered up," Aizawa said, "But were it not for how All Might had to retire from pro heroism which had led to a notable increase in rates of crime and villainy, combined with how a number of big name threats are coming out of the woodwork, I would have expelled the three of you from UA. I strongly suggest that you three go through the proper procedures next time, which will also help to restore the trust between us." Aizawa then turned around and proceeded to take off.

...

Aizawa walked into a meeting room in the main UA building, where Nezu sat at the head of the meeting table. Also in the room were Toshinori, who is now known to the public as All Might but he's retired from pro heroism now, as well as Hizashi, Sekijiro, Ryo, Nemuri, Snipe, Power Loader, Ectoplasm, and finally Cementoss. "Sorry that I'm late," Aizawa said, "I had to read the riot act to some of my students."

"Fair enough," Nezu replied, "Oh, please close the door behind you." Aizawa nodded in understanding before he moved to close the door. Aizawa was going to do so regardless and knew that Nezu knew that, but figured Nezu had a reason for asking for it specifically. To Aizawa's mildly piqued interest, after he closed the door, he had heard the sounds of an advanced locking and soundproofing system activate.

The underground hero turned to look at Nezu. "...We're about to discuss secret, sensitive information, aren't we." Aizawa's tone made his statement sound less like a question being asked, and more like a statement he was sure of being made.

"Indeed," Nezu said, "It concerns how All Might here..." Turning to look at Toshinori, Nezu went on to say, "...Has had some help from a girl named Nekohime Hokori."

Aizawa, as he sat down between Hizashi and Nemuri, said, "What do you mean?"

"And who's Nekohime?" Toshinori asked, a curious look on his face.

"A girl with a particularly miraculous quirk called Second Chance," Nezu explained, "Which allows her to send a person's present conscious back to their self in the past, with all memories of the time they came from in tact."

Toshinori's eyes widened in surprise. "...You know that I have memories from an alternate timeline."

"Alternate timeline?" Snipe said, "What in tarnation are you guys talking about?"

To the meeting as a whole, Nezu explained, "The girl I speak of can essentially let us re-do history for a better result, change things for the better. I myself have actually used miss Hokori's help no less than half a dozen times."

"So... so we have access to a girl who's basically a magic reset button," Hizashi said, "Then we can WAIT! We can use her to prevent the Battle of Kamino Ward! We-"

"I tried that on one of my re-dos," Nezu said. Briskly shaking his head, the quirked animal principal said, "It's... best that it happened." The UA staff members did not want to know what would happen if the Battle of Kamino Ward was circumvented. "Furthermore," Nezu said, "We... actually can't use Miss Hokori's services anymore. She was one of the twelve victims who died in a salon fire that happened while Endeavor fought three girls identified as members of Dabi's group of villains. Endeavor, who is now a villain, was confirmed to be the responsible party as he fought way too recklessly." Turning to look at Toshinori, Nezu said, "That being said, it's good that All Might didn't try circumventing the Battle of Kamino Ward with the advance knowledge he has."

"I... was more worried about potentially scaring All For One into hiding for longer," Toshinori admitted, "But still, I'm shocked that the young lady who gave me a second chance to correct things I went wrong at in the alternate timeline I remember had died. Her death is a terrible loss." Not to mention that the death of the girl with the Second Chance quirk meant that Toshinori and the heroes in the current timeline won't be getting a second chance; they HAD to succeed here, otherwise there won't be any correcting anything.

Aizawa arched a wry eyebrow at Toshinori. "So... long story short is that you had knowledge in advance of events that were going to happen."

Gesturing to the Symbol of Peace, Sekijiro said, "Why didn't you say anything?"

"Would any of you have believed me if I told you?" Toshinori asked, "If I told you that I had memories of future events due to remembering an alternate timeline where the villains ended up winning?"

Nezu had a grim look on his face. "...I would have believed you, due to having used the same gift you had used." Looking to Toshinori, Nezu went on, "But I guess that there's another reason you didn't reveal what all you knew."

Toshinori sighed in a resigned tone. "...In the alternate timeline, there were things about Dabi and some of the members of his villainous brood that was never learned, mostly the identities of Dabi himself, as well as the identities of his elite bodyguards Usagi and Felgrand."

The quirked animal principal of UA nodded once in understanding. "Yes, it would be dangerous to proceed without knowledge of the identities of some key players on the villain's side."

"What disturbs me," Ryo said, "Is that there's an alternate timeline where the villains end up winning."

Toshinori sighed again. "...Yes, the events I remember in the alternate timeline ultimately saw to Dabi and his fellows defeating what all resistance was mounted against them. From the point I came from, they had already taken over Japan, and there was virtually nothing able to stand in Dabi's way of taking over the world." Letting out another sigh, Toshinori went on, "And I can't help but blame myself, given I had pushed one of Dabi's key players to him. I had essentially presented one of Dabi's top subordinates to him on a silver platter, and that led to said subordinate essentially bringing Japan to Dabi on a silver platter."

The other UA staff members looked surprised to hear that Toshinori had, in the alternate timeline, driven someone into villainy, and said villain helped Dabi take over the nation. "...You created a villain in the alternate timeline," Nemuri said, "Or rather, you drove someone into villainy. Who was it?"

"Izuku."

The rest of the staff meeting were shocked to hear Toshinori say who it was that he had driven to villainy in the alternate timeline, especially given that said person was Toshinori's own step-son. "You drove Midoriya to villainy in the alternate timeline?!" Ectoplasm practically exclaimed, "How?!"

"Yeah, I wanna know too," Cementoss said, "I mean, the Midoriya we have here lacks even the barest scrap of potential villainy in him! He's pure good through and through! How can such a sunshine child cinnamon roll ever be a villain?!"

Toshinori let out a troubled, resigned sigh as he proceeded to explain how, in the alternate timeline, he was negligent at best towards his step-son, did absolutely nothing to help him, didn't even acknowledge he was there unless forced. There's also how Toshinori had not only crushed Izuku's dreams, but then in the alternate timeline proceeded to take Bakugo under his wing to shape him up into becoming a fine pro hero. Toshinori also took time to cover how Bakugo developed back in the alternate timeline, and Nemuri was disgusted to learn Bakugo there had suicide baited Izuku.

The former Symbol of Peace then explained that, in the alternate timeline he remembered, he asked to be sent back to the point where he and Inko got back from their honeymoon just after getting married. With that much advance time, Toshinori was able to set up and do various things to prevent Izuku from going down the villainous path in the current timeline. Toshinori took steps to nurture Izuku to help set him on the pro hero path, and Toshinori's efforts to protect Izuku from a lot of the torment he had endured led to the campaign to stamp out bullying and discrimination.

"Now I have an explanation for why you were so firm on it," Aizawa said, "I remember how super-heavy the bullying and discrimination was in schools before you started up that zero-tolerance campaign of yours. I was right to suspect that being mistreated badly enough and for a long enough time can drive one down a villainous path."

"When..." Hizashi said, gulping a bit out of nervousness, "...When in the alternate timeline did you first learn you had driven your own step-son into villainy by being a watered-down version of Endeavor?"

Toshinori didn't like being compared to Endeavor in terms of being a parent, especially after what was made public about the now villainous man. But the Symbol of Peace knew full well he was a fuck-up of a parent in the alternate timeline. "...When the USJ attack occurred," Toshinori said, "Things in the alternate timeline before that point happened essentially the same as they did here. But the USJ attack was the first major deviation."

Aizawa's eyes narrowed out of suspicion. "...Your step-son was among the participating villains."

Toshinori nodded in the affirmative. "Yes. Izuku was also one of two who was able to escape, the other being that mist villain. The rest of the invading force of villains all met the same fate that they met here. The hand-covered villain was shot and killed by Snipe-"

"I suspect that it's why you said he had to be killed on sight," Snipe chimed in.

"-And both the Nomu and the force of fodder villains were all apprehended," Toshinori finished, "However..."

Seeing the way Toshinori trailed off, Sekijiro let out a troubled sigh. "...Students died in the USJ attack in the alternate timeline, huh?"

The former Symbol of Peace nodded in grim confirmation. "Ten of the twenty kids there were killed." The other staff members were all shocked to hear that half of Class 1-A in the alternate timeline were killed. Listing off of his fingers, Toshinori said, "The kids lost in the USJ attack were Ojiro, Koda, Shinso, Mineta, and all six of the girls. Aizawa and Thirteen were also both killed."

"I hate to ask this," Thirteen spoke up, "But your step-son in the alternate timeline, did he..." Gulping nervously, Thirteen asked, "...Did he kill any of the students?"

"Thankfully no," Toshinori replied, "I can confirm he never killed any of the students, nor did he try to. Izuku did, however, kill Aizawa and you, Thirteen."

"Well that's interesting," Aizawa remarked dryly, sounding a lot more calm than he should considering he just learned how he died in the alternate timeline that Toshinori remembers, "Not to mention how you saying Mineta was killed at the USJ tells me I didn't expel him in the alternate timeline."

"My zero-tolerance campaign wasn't around," Toshinori said, "You used it to help argue your case to expel Young Mineta here."

Gesturing to Toshinori, Cementoss asked, "What about the Sports Festival? Any deaths there in the alternate timeline?"

"No because the Sports Festival was canceled there," Toshinori replied, "Nothing else of note happened until the internships that occurred around the time Stain the Hero Killer was hunting around Hosu."

Arching a wry eyebrow, Ryo asked, "What happened there?"

"Young Iida was killed by Stain," Toshinori explained, drawing surprised looks out of the staff members, "His older brother Tensei was cripplingly injured by the Hero Killer, so Young Iida sought to get revenge. He got himself killed as a result, and both Native and Manual died alongside him to the blades of Stain."

"...Wait," Nemuri said, "Iida never tried seeking revenge here."

"I had saved Tensei from being injured," Toshinori explained, "By recruiting him to help me with various projects secretly meant to stem off as much of the bad stuff from the alternate timeline as possible. Granted, I actually saved Tensei from said injury unintentionally as I wasn't even thinking about it, but when I realized that I had saved Tensei, I was instantly glad that I did."

"Especially as it kept Iida from getting killed seeking revenge," Hizashi remarked, "Because there was nothing for him to seek revenge for here."

Nodding once, Toshinori went on, "The next major blip was the attack on the training camp."

Ryo's eyes widened a bit in surprise. "...That's why you asked that more teachers go along to look over the students."

"I didn't want to risk the villains thinking we were too much onto what they were up to," Toshinori said, "So I hoped that just a little extra would make a difference. It did, as no students were killed."

"We did lose Mandalay and Tiger though," Sekijiro pointed out, his tone and expression grim.

The former Symbol of Peace nodded in confirmation. "Yes. It pains me that there were deaths at the training camp attack regardless, but considering no students died here, I think it's the lesser of two evils."

"How many students died in the training camp attack in the alternate timeline?" Aizawa asked.

Holding up the fingers and thumb on his right hand, Toshinori said, "Five boys from Class 1-A were killed. Aoyama, Sato, Shoji, Todoroki, and Tokoyami." Aizawa looked like a dagger was thrust into his heart. "Additionally," Toshinori went on, "Bakugo was kidnapped from the training camp by the villains."

Nemuri had a surprised look on her face. "But here it was Yaoyorozu."

Gently shaking his head, Toshinori went on, "Well in the alternate timeline it was Bakugo. The heroes mounted an effort to rescue him, although things got complicated when it was discovered that Kirishima, Kaminari, and Sero had snuck off to do an unsanctioned rescue mission to save Bakugo from Dabi and his fellows. Those three boys were all killed. Reportedly it was solely Spinner, Dabi's right hand man, who slew the boys."

"That explains why you placed such emphasis on me looking over Kirishima, Kaminari, and Sero," Nemuri said, "You feared they would have attempted a repeat of their actions in the alternate timeline."

Nodding once, Toshinori said, "Yes. However, I had made an error here in assuming the three boys would try to pull off an unsanctioned rescue mission, same as they did in the alternate timeline."

A look of suspicion was in Aizawa's eyes. "...My guess is that because it was Yaoyorozu who was kidnapped here, as opposed to Bakugo or another boy potentially, we saw three of the girls try and pull an unsanctioned rescue mission." Sighing, Aizawa said, "I've been keeping track of things here. After the Battle of Kamino Ward in the alternate timeline, the only student left in Class 1-A is Bakugo."

"Yes," Toshinori confirmed grimly, "But he, as well as all of the students in Class 1-B, end up getting killed when Dabi and his villainous brood attack the first Provisional Licence Exams that Bakugo and those in his year are eligible for."

"All of my kids get killed too, huh?" Sekijiro said, sounding grim and resigned, as well as not happy in the least.

Toshinori nodded once in the affirmative. "Yes, Bakugo, all of Class 1-B, and no less than half of the fifteen-hundred some-odd hero academy students are killed by Dabi and his villainous brood. It was mostly due to Dabi's subordinate Twice, who can clone himself at will and indefinitely. With those numbers, Twice had claimed an almost countless number of innocent lives."

Gesturing to the former Symbol of Peace, Aizawa said, "Including Bakugo and all of Sekijiro's students."

Surprisingly, Toshinori shook his head in the negative. "No. Bakugo and all of the Class 1-B students were killed by Felgrand. You see, not ALL of Dabi and his villainous brood were at the stadium the exams were held at then the attack started. Felgrand as well as Usagi showed up about partway through. The attack was a chaotic, jumbled mess, Dabi and his subordinates were unfocused and ran wild basically. This was best seen in the fighting that Usagi and Felgrand did, seeing Felgrand kill all of Class 1-B and Bakugo during the attack."

"Wow," Hizashi said, "No wonder he's known as the Dragon of Destruction."

"Obviously both Usagi and Felgrand are experiments of the now late All For One," Nezu said. Turning to look at Toshinori, Nezu asked, "How were they stopped in the alternate timeline, assuming they were stopped?"

"They weren't stopped," Toshinori replied, "Literally no-one or nothing in the alternate timeline could have stood up to either of them. Dabi had used the two of them to terrible effect, helping to pave the way for him to take over the nation. Whereas Izuku did little things that helped the overall course for Dabi flow quicker and more easily, it was Usagi and Felgrand who did a lot of the heavy lifting."

Gesturing to Aizawa, Hizashi said, "But here, we got it that Usagi is Asui's little sister who's currently missing."

"And from that," Aizawa went on, "We have speculation that Felgrand is Asui's little brother who's also currently missing." His eyes narrowing, Aizawa went on, "I bet that Asui surviving long enough is what allowed us to learn who Usagi and Felgrand are."

"There's also the fact that a bunch of students are set to die at the provisional licence exams," Ectoplasm said, "We need to-"

Ectoplasm stopped short when Nezu held a paw up. "...Those exams haven't happened yet," Nezu pointed out, "We can take precautions to not only distract the villains, but still give the students a chance to train and improve by earning their provisional licences. Said precautions will also allow us to be able to more quickly and easily evacuate the students if villains do show up."

Aizawa nodded in agreement. "There's also how we have confirmed that Usagi is Asui's little sister, and have strong speculation that Felgrand is Asui's little brother. We can potentially use Asui to speak with them and-"

"No way, Jose," Nemuri said firmly, "We are NOT going to let any UA students anywhere near a monster like Usagi or one that's worse than the Rabbit-Earred Giantess. Do you WANT to get a student killed?"

"Sho may be onto something here," Hizashi said, "I mean, at the very least Usagi is Asui's little sis. That may give us a bridge to let us attempt to reason with Usagi."

Briskly shaking her head, Nemuri said, "Nuh uhh, we are not taking any risks that would involve having even one student confront an Usagi-level threat."

Nezu sighed in a troubled tone. "Nemuri does have a point. At the very least, until we can confirm that Miss Asui can reason with Usagi and potentially Felgrand, we ought to keep her and the other students away from Dabi's two big elites."

Toshinori understood how some of the staff members seemed interested in taking a gamble on using Tsuyu to try and reason with Usagi and potentially Felgrand as well. But at the same time, the former Symbol of Peace also understood the staff members who didn't want to make gambles, or at the very least not make any gambles until they were absolutely certain there would be a good payoff.

Looking at everyone, Toshinori said, "I agree... with Nezu and Nemuri. At an absolute minimum, we ought to first confirm that Young Asui will be able to reason with Usagi and Felgrand without taking any gambles." Nemuri cheered in victory while Aizawa grumbled something about how a gamble here might actually be necessary to see if things would work.

Nezu was grateful to see a little over half of the meeting side with him on first making sure that the gamble will pay off. The quirked animal principal then went on to discuss various ideas he had to further ensure that the students taking part in the provisional licence exams will be safe. It will involve coordinating with the other hero academies of Japan who will be sending their students to compete, but Nezu was confident he could get the job done, especially if he used his pull with the Japanese government to help speed (i.e. force) things along.

But it will be an effort that will require more than just the staffs of the various hero academies to cooperate. Nezu stressed to Aizawa and Sekijiro that they had to get their respective homerooms, Class 1-A and Class 1-B, to get along and learn to cooperate in times of crisis. "Yeah, my student Kendo has be advocating for the dropping of the harsh rivalry between us and 1-A," Sekijiro said, "She still says the healthy competition between the two classes will help both classes grow, but Monoma and a few of the others have taken the class rivalry a bit far."

"Your students ought to follow Young Kendo's words," Toshinori said, "Your students and Aizawa's will need to learn to get along with one another. Similarly, the students in Class 1-B need to learn to get along better, and the students in Class 1-A ought to get along better. The more unified everyone is, the better our odds at being able to fend off villainous assaults from Dabi and his evil posse."

"I'm certain I can make Monoma and those who he's trying to lead astray behave themselves," Sekijiro remarked, "Hell, I may even officially give Kendo authority to discipline her classmates to further help make Monoma and the others behave themselves."

Aizawa gave a similarly agreeing nod. "And it goes without saying that the students in my class are all a unified, well-oiled machine. Even Midoriya, who despite going villain in the alternate timeline, here in this timeline is one of the finest students in my class. I'm certain that he can help lead his already unified peers along the path of getting through everything."

The first year hero course students of UA were later training to work on ultimate moves in preparation for the provisional licence exams. Izuku, making use of the upgrades to the leg areas of his hero outfit, kicked a rock into rubble. "Wow, impressive Midoriya," Todoroki said as he along with Tenya and Shinso looked on.

Landing gracefully, Izuku stood up. "Yeah, I'm referring to my new fighting style as Shoot Style. Using kicks rather than punches, I hope to-"

"Go work with someone else, you two!"

Izuku was cut off when he heard Mina speak up over a ways away. Izuku and his friends turned to see it as Mina who was backed by Jiro, Hagakure, and Yaoyorozu were telling Ochaco and Tsuyu off. Izuku's eyes narrowed out of suspicion. "...Boys, this looks like trouble," Izuku said as he led Tenya, Todoroki, and Shinso over to see what had some of the girls acting so hostile towards one another.

When Izuku and his group came up, they heard Ochaco ask in a hurt tone, "What's wrong with Tsuyu and I wanting to work with you girls?"

"Oh, I don't know," Hagakure began, "Maybe it has to do with how you two almost got me, Ashido, and Jiro expelled from school because you tattled on us!"

"Girls, you three had seriously risked your lives by going off alone to try and save Yaoyorozu from the villains," Tsuyu pointed out, sounding similarly as hurt as Ochaco, "You three could have died doing something that the heroes were able to pull off regardless of if you three acted or not."

"Oh, so us wanting to save Yaoyorozu from the villains is irrelevant," Jiro scowled, "Is that it?"

"That's not what I said kero," Tsuyu said, looking and sounding like she might start crying, "It's just that things were way too dangerous for first year hero academy students such as us."

Turning to look at Yaoyorozu, Ochaco said, "Yaoyorozu, you agree that it was really dangerous and reckless what Ashido, Jiro, and Hagakure did, right?"

The wealthy slender girl, an expression of uncertainty on her face, looked at the wealthy well-fed girl. "...I'm not going to lie, I was kind of hurt to learn that neither you nor Asui wanted to help save me."

"So you'd rather that Ochaco and Asui would have also risked both their lives and getting expelled from UA for you," Izuku spoke up, getting the girls to all turn to face him and the boys with him.

Instead of answering Izuku, the girls who were almost expelled all focused on Shinso. "Oh well look who it is," Hagakure said while gesturing to Shinso, "It's our class's resident teacher's pet! I wasn't aware that Aizawa-sensei was in the market for a Purple-Haired Tattler!"

"You as well as Ashido and Jiro had broken way too many rules to count," Shinso defended, "And Uraraka and Asui have a point on how you three could have died!"

The arguing coming from the girls and Izuku's group made the other boys in class stop what they were doing and come over to see what was going on. "Hey hey now, what's the deal here?" Kaminari asked.

Pointing at Mina, Jiro, and Hagakure, Tenya explained, "The girls here are expressing annoyance with how their wrongdoing had been reported to Aizawa-sensei."

Folding his arms over his chest, Sero said, "Oh, you mean how Shinso, Asui, and Uraraka had tattled on them?"

"Not you too, Sero!" Izuku said, a little surprised to see that one of the boys was siding with the girls who were almost expelled.

Shrugging, Aoyama said, "Sorry Midoriya, but it wasn't very friendly what Shinso, Asui, or Uraraka did. How can any of us trust them since it's now known by our class as a whole that any slight misstep will be reported?"

Folding his arms over his chest, Kaminari said, "Yeah, it's not all that chill what two of the girls and Shinso did. You guys do know that Jiro, Ashido, and Hagakure were acting only to save Yaoyorozu from the villains, right? And yet you tattled on them and almost got them expelled. Are the rules really more important to you than making sure all of your classmates and friends are safe?"

"You, Aoyama, and Sero go too far, Kaminari," Tokoyami spoke up, "As harsh as what Tsuyu and Uraraka had done, they acted with the best of intentions in mind. The rules that are in place are there to help protect us, and not following them could lead to dire consequences."

"Like nearly getting us expelled because someone tattled on us," Jiro spat bitterly.

"Shut the fuck up, Earplugs!" Bakugo barked, "As stupid as it is that we can't go fighting villains yet without teacher approval, those same teachers have a damn good reason for holding us back! What, do you think you can take on those villains as you are right now?"

Kirishima had a troubled look on his face. "...I have to admit, both sides have a point. It's not all that manly to tell on someone just because they're breaking a few rules, even if they're doing so to try and save someone from villains. But at the same time, needlessly risking your necks on a job you're way too under-qualified for is similarly as unmanly. What if you girls had gotten hurt or worse? I... I just don't know which side had been less manly here."

"I agree with Kirishima," Shoji said, "I... can't really find a side to pick here as both are at the same time in the right and in the wrong."

Nodding once in agreement, Ojiro said, "Yeah, Imma go ahead and channel my inner Switzerland here and remain neutral." Koda spoke up that he also was not planning to pick sides and stay in a neutral group, and Sato also said he was staying neutral as he didn't wanna get caught up in a feud that could potentially tear the class apart at the seams.

Izuku felt a little heartbroken to see Class 1-A divided so much. On one side was himself, Tenya, Todoroki, Shinso, Ochaco, Tsuyu, Bakugo (it surprised Izuku that Bakugo was siding with him on something), and Tokoyami who also said that Dark Shadow agreed with them. On the side directly against Izuku's side were Hagakure, Yaoyorozu, Mina, Jiro, Sero, Kaminari, and Aoyama. And remaining neutral were Kirishima, Shoji, Ojiro, Koda, and Sato. Such a lack of unity among Class 1-A was not going to help them out in the long term.

It worried Izuku where this could go if the issue wasn't resolved soon.

A few days later one evening, after all training and all homework was done for the day, Izuku sat on a bench outside of the Class 1-A dorm building. He looked up at the sunset sky, a look of trouble on his face. As the green-haired boy let out a sigh, he perked up when he heard Aizawa's voice call out, "You seem troubled, Midoriya." Izuku turned to look and saw it as Aizawa approached, accompanied by Toshinori. "It's probably a good thing All Might here came along," Aizawa said, "You and he can talk about it. He is your dad, it's sort of his job to hear you out about whatever troubles you."

"Did... something happen during training?" Toshinori asked.

Looking concerned, Izuku said, "...Yeah, my classmates are all still divided over Ochaco, Asui, and Shinso reporting to Aizawa-sensei what Jiro, Ashido, and Hagakure did." The green-haired boy then proceeded to explain how one group of students (with said group including Izuku himself) agreed the two girls and Shinso were in the right, another group now strongly dislikes and distrusts the two girls and Shinso due to viewing them as dirty snitching tattle-tales, and the third group is remaining neutral due to not wanting to get dragged into a conflict.

Rubbing the temples of his head, Toshinori let out an exasperated sigh. "...Great. This is the last thing we need right now, especially as the Provisional Licence Exams are tomorrow."

"It would also explain why I noticed tensions seemed high in class over the last few days," Aizawa remarked, "I could lay down the law, but doing so might cause more strife and damage than there is." Izuku nodded in agreement, hoping that an effective solution to the lack of unity among the Class 1-A students will be resolved soon. He feared what could happen if he and his classmates weren't able to function as one.

It could lead to disaster.

END, CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

Author's notes;

This chapter covers the students moving into the dorms and doing training to prep for the provisional licence exams, although there's some strife in Class 1-A due to a few members not being amused with Ochaco, Tsuyu, and Shinso reporting to Aizawa what Mina, Jiro, and Hagakure did. But most of the chapter was focused on Nezu confirming that Toshinori has memories from an alternate timeline, including on events that haven't happened yet. Thanks to said knowledge, the UA teachers are going to be acting to circumvent as much of the chaos as possible. But will it be enough, especially considering there's strife among Class 1-A because students typically don't like being told on? Stay tuned for more.
