Okay, so this was something that kind of came out of nowhere, but… I'm giving this a shot! Recently myself and some of my friends have been revisiting some of our favorite cartoons from CN and one of them that I revisited and put me on a serious nostalgia trip was "Camp Lazlo". As a preteen in scouts and loved camping when this show premiered, this show and its characters always held a special place in my heart. So, as a 27 year old, I thought I'd take a shot at writing a fanfiction for this fun and wacky show that I loved so much and giving it my own spin and see how it goes. This fic will mostly be from Patsy's perspective to start as she begins her final summer as a Squirrel Scout at Acorn Flats and is determined to get through it as fast as possible… or so she thinks? ;) Hope you all enjoy!

(Patsy's POV)

Alright, Beret, neckerchief, badges, hair… Perfect.

This was my first (and last) summer returning to Acorn Flats where I finally get to go from junior assistant scout leader to ASSITANT scout leader now that I'm old enough.

Because this year… is the year!

I'm 17, I have all my badges accounted for with just one 'exception', and now I just need to fulfill one more summer helping Den Mother Doe supervise the younger scouts to finally get my Golden Acorn Award!

Finally, all my years of scouting will officially pay off and sending off my college applications where my time in the Squirrel Scouts will make me shoo-in combined with my grades.

Besides, it's a perfect day, the menu for the entire day at the dining hall is perfect, and Gretchen and I already have a perfect plan for when we take the new scouts on a 'tour' and a 'hike' later to keep things interesting.

"Hey! Can some of us also be able to use the mirror sometime today?"

Speaking of Gretchen…

Don't get me wrong, Gretchen is one of my best friends next to Nina here at camp and we've known each other since our first day of camp here when we were 8, but… Geez, she can still be a real 'short fuse' a lot of the time, if not more now than when we were kids.

Instead, and especially since I was hardly using the mirror anymore anyway, I stepped away from the shared vanity in our cabin as I backed away while talking the situation down, "Okay, okay fine… no need to get your undies in a bunch about it."

I sat on my bed again and started unpacking a little more. I looked over and saw exactly why Gretchen wanted the mirror since I saw her immediately start filing her teeth.

But, I just shrugged and kept unpacking and settling my things for the summer.

My final summer here at Acorn Flats.

Honestly, and as maybe a little cheesy (no pun intended after that 'one time' that I prefer not to think about when it comes to 'cheese') as it sounds, but… I am going to miss being here with my friends and everything every summer.

Although, I'm also so ready to get through this last summer and move on with my life. Especially since the past couple of years have felt different without 'someone' who hasn't been here for a while... But, it was for the best!

I spent a lot of time with my friends, had no distractions from getting my badges, and I am just ready to go from Scout Smiles to having the world be my oyster from here!

Nothing in my way!

Just me, myself, and I to focus on mentoring the new Squirrel Scouts.

I kept smiling as I kept putting my things away as Nina walked back in and started, "Hey guys, Almondine and I were out on the dock and we just saw the bus pull up at Camp Kidney."

Gretchen immediately let out a slight laugh as she said, "Nice. Hey Patsy, did you set up your part for Operation: 'Bean Slinger' earlier?" I couldn't help myself from smirking before deviously hinting, "Oh, did I? What do you think?"

We both started laughing and high-fived as Nina smiled and laughed too before smiling slightly and sitting on her bed before asking, "Why? What are you guys planning?"

All I did was look up with a mischievous smile and shrug before alluding, "Oh you know, just a little surprise we decided to set up for the Bean Scouts… we'll tell you about it later."

Immediately all three of us started laughing. Hey, Acorn Flats and Camp Kidney have had a rivalry since the 1930's when the camps opened and we still keep it alive to this day.

All of us kept laughing until we heard the PA system outside boot up before Miss Doe [Or Mrs. Doe-Lumpus since I always keep forgetting she married Scout Master Lumpus almost 6 years ago] chimed in, "Rise and shine, and good morning Squirrels! Will all Junior and Assistant Scouting Leaders please report to the dining hall in the next 5 minutes, please? We want to make sure we're all organized before the new scouts show up in a bit and we start their tour and orientation. Thank you, ladies, and happy summer!"

The line shut off as all three of us looked at each other before standing up and making our way over.

But, as we all walked out of our cabin, Gretchen and I looked at each other and high-fived again before smirking at each other, almost completely anticipating our plan for today that we had thought out since before we got to camp.

Oh… this is gonna be SO good.

1 hour later

After we got assigned our group of new Squirrel Scouts, Gretchen and I decided to get a 'head start' on our 'summer kick-off' by taking the new scouts on a tour of the grounds before taking them on a nature walk in the woods.

One was because we had to do that at some point during the day anyway on our list of daily tasks and two… well, Gretchen and I wanted to make sure we were present to see 'what happened' when the Bean Scouts go on their hike like Gretchen and I noticed they do every year.

And what better way to 'kick off' our final summer and also show our younger Squirrels 'the way of things' with a little prank? Gretchen and I even brought our binoculars with us to make sure everything went off without a hitch.

The two of us kept watch until we heard one of the new girls [Kelly] speak up as she started, sounding very confused, "Um, Miss Gretchen? Miss Patsy? Why are all of us laying down on this hill and looking down again?"

I was about to respond until Gretchen just decided to respond for the two of us as she stated, very matter of fact, "Well ladies, it's like Den Mother Doe said to you all when you got here. You all are here with us so we can show you how to be proper Squirrel Scouts. And part of that is knowing how to 'establish dominance' early over those stupid Beans-for-Brains Scouts. So, last night, Patsy and I decided to set up a little 'surprise' for them when they go on their little 'hike'."

"What kind of 'surprise'?" Another one of them asked in total confusion, raising her hand.

Right then my ears perked up as I heard footfall and immediately hushed, "Shh! Quiet! I hear footsteps."

I double-checked both the snare that I set up and the shallow pit Gretchen dug and covered with leaves and branches before looking to see where the Beans were, and especially who was coming.

Honestly… I'm really hoping it's Edward.

Partially because he's an annoying jerk, even more now than when we were kids… and also because he completely blew off Gretchen last year for a date in Prickly Pines (that ended up just being a prank anyway) so I would be pretty happy to see him get snared and hung upside down by his ankle from a tree or fall into the pit… and it seemed to be 'ditto' for Gretchen if the look on her face meant anything by it.

My grin was practically ear to ear before biting my bottom lip a little as I waited in anticipation for the Beans to come around the bend.

The footsteps kept going in step together until I heard, sounding like it was one of the younger Bean Scouts whining, "Bean Counselor, I'm tired. Can we take a break?"

Wimps…

What? I'm an Army Brat with a father still in the Military. Whining about being tired was never an option at my house for anyone.

As I rolled my eyes, my ears perked up again and also made my eyes go wide to the point of almost falling out on reflex when I heard a familiar friendly and free-spirited tone that I remembered ALL too well despite not hearing it in 4 years, "C'mon Terry, we're almost there! Just a little bit more of a walk."

No…

I mean, the voice was slightly 'lower' than I remembered, but… it has to be.

I immediately looked back through my binoculars as my eyes kept going wide at who I saw stepping happily through the woods, gripping the straps of his camping backpack over his shoulders, and a big smile plastered to his face. I still couldn't believe what I actually was seeing in front of my eyes.

It was almost to the point that I felt like asking Gretchen to slap me just to make sure I wasn't hallucinating… but I wasn't.

He was here.

He was ACTUALLY here!

Lazlo.

I mean; again, he looked taller and sounded a little different since the last time I saw him, but… it was him.

As gangly, slightly oblivious, and cute as ever… if not more.

Well, 'cuter' I mean.

My mind felt like it was in another dimension as Lazlo stopped, reached into his pocket, and pulled out before looking at a compass and saying, "Yup! We're still heading east and should be at the spot in time for lunch. You all set for that, Clam?"

"Sandwiches!" Clam responded in his usual direct yet good-natured tone as he readjusted his backpack over his shoulders.

"Perfect! Here guys, there's a river up ahead where we can fill our canteens. Water always helps! Besides, it's always good to stay hydrated! Now, where's my canteen…" He kept walking as he took his backpack off and started digging through it, almost sticking his head into this bag as he started, sounding like it was a mixture of him thinking out loud and talking to himself but completely being nothing short of 'Lazlo', "Hello? Canteen? Where are you in there, little buddy?"

I had to bite my lip and it took almost every bit of my self-control not to giggle like I was out of my mind.

Agh, he really is just as adorably cute and genuine as I remember.

Oh… Lazlo…

As much as I tried to repress everything else, I couldn't stop myself from propping up my chin on my right hand as I kept holding the binoculars with my left as I let out a sigh and I kept looking down at Lazlo.

Sure I still had no idea why he was back here since I haven't seen him in YEARS, but… I wasn't about to question it now! I felt like I was 11 again when I realized I had a crush on him… and maybe slightly more than a 'crush' like Gretchen and Nina mess with me about to this day that I always try to 'play it down'.

As I started 'slipping' into something, I felt a small smile form on my face. Or at least I was until I felt my stomach pretty much sink when I realized exactly what was about to happen.

Lazlo wasn't watching where he was going as he kept digging through his bag and he was about 15 paces away from the snare I set up.

Oh crap…

As I felt a wave of dread go over me, I just heard Gretchen start chuckling before alluding, clearly enjoying it, "Watch and learn, ladies."

Look, I know the 'rivalry' and everything, but this is NOT what I want to happen!

I immediately started sprinting down the hill as I called out, feeling like I was going on instinct, "LAZLO! STOP!"

I kept running since he didn't immediately respond as I also heard Gretchen yelling at me in frustrated confusion, "Patsy?! What are you doing?!"

But, I just kept ignoring her since all I cared about right now was preventing starting off my last summer here like this with Lazlo… and it'll be all my fault!

It's been YEARS since I've last even seen him and I do NOT want to mess anything up with him right at the start of the summer.

It took a second as Lazlo looked up, but still kept walking as he looked back and asked, "Clam? Did you say some-THHIIIIINNNGGG!"

My stomach sank when my snare got tripped and Lazlo went flying up into the tree by his left ankle.

NO….

All the younger Bean Scouts froze and Clam ran up to the front and called out in concern, "Lazlo?"

Then the rest of the Beans started panicking as one of them cried out, "Oh no! Bean Counselor Lazlo just got taken by the Hunter Alien guy from that movie I watched! WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!" All of them started screaming and I felt like I still was nowhere near to getting there fast enough.

It was like having a nightmare where you're being chased by something, but you feel like you aren't moving no matter how fast you run.

Well… who am I kidding? This might as well be a nightmare!

I'm already ruining everything with this guy I've had a MAJOR crush on since I was 11 but haven't seen for years and it's going to be ALL my fault if he totally hates me after this!

I mean, we've pulled things on the Bean Scouts before and some of them got pretty crazy and 'out of hand', but it's not like we were maliciously targeting anyone specifically for no reason. But, just because I was hoping it was gonna Edward for payback and I ended up getting Lazlo instead… I'm a HORRIBLE person!

All of a sudden I stopped and felt a wave of relief wash over me when I heard Lazlo cut in calmly, "Uh… Clam? Guys? Just look up."

Oh, thank goodness! He's okay!

But, then I remembered Lazlo was still snared in a tree as I ran in and not caring about anyone else around me as I called out, "Lazlo! Oh gosh, I am SO sorry! That wasn't supposed to happen! Are you okay?!"

I was looking up and feeling guilty all over again when I saw him dangling in the tree by his ankle, feeling worse than that time I had to punch him just to keep my dad from going after him after I stupidly tried to give him a Valentine IN FRONT of my dad.

He looked confused for half a second until he recognized me and smiled slightly before saying, sounding nothing but calm and nonchalant about it but still not anywhere near to relieving the guilt I felt consuming me all over again, "Oh! Hey Patsy!"

My guilt slowly melted away and I could almost feel those same butterflies in my stomach as he looked at me with his usual bright and sweet smile.

Why does he still have to have such a cute smile?

"Hi Patsy!"

I looked over and saw Clam smiling and giving me a wave, making me smile and wave back as I replied, "Hey Clam, nice seeing you."

Although, I wasn't distracted for long as I looked back up and continued to profusely apologize, "I am still so, SO sorry, Lazlo. I didn't know…" Lazlo cut me off though as he started, "No, it's okay. I'm fine really! Here, maybe I can get the knot loose."

He tried reaching up to the knot on the snare as I felt my guilt come back and I felt the need to 'do something'... especially since I was the one that got him into this mess as I cut in, "No, wait! Let me…"

"Patsy?! What the heck was that all about?!"

I whipped my head behind me as I saw Gretchen and our group of new scouts standing several feet away. Gretchen was just giving me the same confused and critical 'something' I heard in her voice earlier as she was glaring at me with her hands on her hips, clearly trying to figure out why I just ruined our entire prank.

And actually, looking more into the 'look' she was giving me right now, she did know 'exactly' why and was now seriously judging me for it because of how I still feel about Lazlo.

Even if I didn't realize how much l still liked him until I saw him again just now… if not even more than before.

I bit my bottom lip a little as I tried to straighten up and not 'lose face' in front of the new Squirrel Scouts that just watched one of their troop leaders charge off and ruin a prank that I helped start only to stop it just because of a boy.

I mean, a cute boy… very cute boy.

But, whatever! Doesn't matter!

Luckily Clam said, in the same way he greeted me and pretty much 'changed the subject', "Hi Gretchen!"

Both Gretchen and I looked over to see Clam smiling even more than he did with me and giving her a wave. Gretchen just gave him a hard annoyed glare as he just kept looking at her and smiling like he always does.

Even though that still didn't stop Gretchen from narrowing her eyes even more at him before proceeding to roll her eyes and cross her arms as she replied in 'annoyance', "Ugh… Clam, can't you see I'm in the middle of something here? Besides, don't you annoy me enough already? Stop talking to me!"

"Sorry Gretchen!" Clam responded with a huge grin, making me see Gretchen's entire body go taut and tense as her fists clenched.

Here we go.

All I did was grin and step back, almost silently thanking Clam for taking the 'heat' off me.

But, even I could see Clam was kind of 'enjoying himself' right now as Gretchen's blood looked like it was boiling from space as she kept almost staring daggers at him, even though Nina and I definitely question it.

Over the summers here, Clam always came back and honestly… he's been one of the few things that always made things 'interesting' and a challenge at inter-camp events.

Because of him, the Bean Scouts either win or are close to winning when it comes to sports competitions in particular.

Amateur Olympics, Tug of War, and our more recent arm wrestling tournament; Clam either almost wins or actually does win… And that drives Gretchen INSANE.

When Clam beat her at arm wrestling last year, I thought she was going to break the table in half after he tried to shake her hand after the match. Or in the Tug of War 2 years ago when it was basically down to Gretchen and Clam holding the line again until Clam eventually pulled her into the mud, beating our undefeated streak. Clam even tried to help her up and said 'good game'... until Gretchen just slowly looked like she was losing it.

Or at least until she finally just 'blew her top' and pushed him into the lake before stomping to the communal showers for the next hour.

Then she spent the next few days 'having a cow' about it. Even though it was more her basically complaining about Clam after a while, but… I don't know?

Nina and I always agreed about this, but I don't think Gretchen hates Clam as much as she always says she does. I mean, I know Clam likes Gretchen and I still think he has a little crush on her even now, but I know Clam.

And if pulling pranks with him in our 'Wingnut Days' means anything, then I know Clam also kind of enjoys 'pushing her buttons' a little bit.

Not in a mean way!

But, I think he always sees how easily he's able to 'get under her skin' and I can tell that he thinks it's kind of funny and I think he also does it to try and get her to 'loosen up', and I kinda do too.

I couldn't even hide how much I was enjoying watching it as Gretchen pointed at him as she practically strained through her teeth, "Clam, stop talking to me!"

But, right as Gretchen was about to turn back around, he just kept grinning before saying, "Okay, Gretchen!"

Right then, Gretchen's whole body slowly started trembling in pure frustrated rage as she slowly looked back to glare at Clam.

Here it comes.

He just kept smiling at her with a big toothy grin as I kept standing back and enjoying it just as much as he was.

I would've probably kept watching until I felt something tug on my vest before I heard who I was 100% sure was Kelly whisper up at me, "Is Miss Gretchen's head gonna explode?"

Almost offhandedly I just crossed my arms and grinned as I responded, "Just wait for it…"

Almost as if on cue, Gretchen pretty much stomped her foot before yelling at the top of her lungs right in Clam's face, "WILL YOU JUST SHUT UP AND STOP TALKING TO ME ALREADY, YOU ANNOYING, SMILING MUTANT?!"

At that moment, all I heard were a couple of birds scatter in the trees from Gretchen 'losing it'.

Her breathing was ragged as she kept staring Clam down. Everything went silent for a good minute, almost to the point where you could hear a pin drop.

But, Clam just kept smiling until he finally said, putting the 'last nail into the coffin' for Gretchen, "Okay! Will do!"

Almost as if on cue, Gretchen yelled in frustration again before releasing, "AGH! I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE! WHY CAN'T YOU JUST?!..." But, then I felt myself sink again when I realized Lazlo was still up in the tree as he called out, "Oh! Wait, I think I got the knot, guys! Just… a little… mor-AAAHHH!"

Crap!

I didn't even know what I was doing as I took a leap in the air and managed to catch him mid-fall in a tackle like my dad taught me to do to soften the landing.

Again, I grew up in a military family, so my brother and I were learning self-defense, agility, and hand-to-hand combat as soon as we could practically walk. And right now I was feeling like I was doing nothing but act on instinct since I felt like I was hardly even thinking.

Fortunately, we ended up landing on a pile of needles from a nearby spruce tree as I looked down and started, "Lazlo! Oh my gosh, are you okay?! I… I…"

It wasn't until now that I realized how close we were. And I mean, really close.

Sure, I'd usually playfully knock him down and look down at him like this back when we were kids, but this… yeah, this felt 'different'.

I was pretty much borderline laying on top of him/hovering over him with my hands on either side of his head. He was just staring up at me wide-eyed until he just said, "Uh… yeah… I'm okay. Thanks, Patsy."

"Um, good… No problem." I replied, feeling like I hardly had any concept of thought.

We both just kept looking at each other and even though there was something 'awkward' about this and I wanted it to stop… I also didn't want it to stop at the same time.

"Patsy?"

Honestly… I really liked what was going on right now.

"Patsy?!"

I know I haven't seen him in years and I wanted to know where he went and why he hasn't been back, I definitely still have a crush on him.

"PATSY!"

I looked over and saw Gretchen crossing her arms and giving me a look at she said, definitely taking a jab at me like she always does when it comes to me and Lazlo, "So, are you two gonna do us all a favor and 'get a room' or somethin' already?"

Right then, I heard a bunch of sniggering and choked-back laughs, realizing the younger Bean and Squirrel scouts were all watching/pointing at us as they whispered to each other before sniggering again.

Oh crap…

Almost reflexively both me and Lazlo started scrambling back to our feet and put a little distance between the two of us, making the sniggering stop a little, but not completely.

Look, I may like Lazlo still and I don't care what anyone thinks of it… but I not going to be laughed at and turned into a joke on my first day in authority with the younger scouts.

Okay, Patsy, I know ever since that one time you visited Camp Kidney you promised to never have this thought ever again, but… what would my dad do right now to command respect?

Immediately, I straightened up and put my arms behind my back before sounding off, "ATTEN-HUT!"

Almost immediately all the scouts (even the younger Bean Scouts) stopped immediately and stood at attention, just silently staring at me.

Wow… it actually worked.

But, I wasn't going to miss out on this opportunity to finally have my respect back with the younger scouts as I started, "Okay, Squirrels! I…"

All of a sudden, I felt a hand on my shoulder as I heard Lazlo say in my ear, catching me off guard and also taking all my restraint not to react and go back to square one a few minutes ago, "Don't worry, Patsy. I can handle this."

All of a sudden Lazlo just smiled and stepped forward with a wave as he said, "Hello Squirrel Scouts! I'm Lazlo and this is Clam. We're Bean Counselor Bean Scouts from Jelly Cabin at Camp Kidney across Leaky Lake. Nice to meet you all! Hey, would you like to come with us? We were going to have lunch at the communal campground up ahead for a picnic. Clam's got plenty of sandwiches so there should be enough to share. Right, Clam?"

"Sandwiches!" Clam chimed in with a nod.

Lazlo smiled even bigger as he said, "So, what do you say, ladies?"

He looked over at me and smiled as he held out his hand.

Lazlo's actually inviting us to come with them on a picnic? Wait… 'me' on a picnic with Lazlo? No weird games, competition, or other stupid stuff?

Just us sitting, eating sandwiches, and talking to Lazlo?

I couldn't help myself as I smiled and reached out for his hand and was about to say something until Gretchen just came right in and smacked Lazlo's hand away before putting her hands on her hips again as she directed in almost hostile annoyance, "And why the heck would we wanna have a stupid picnic with a bunch of Beans?"

"Gretchen?! What the?!..." I started to complain about her 'ruining this' until Lazlo just shrugged and smiled as he replied, "Because Gretchen, it's the first day of Summer Camp and it's a beautiful day to be outside! And what's better than sitting outside on a nice day while eating some sandwiches with a nice group of people?"

Gretchen just rolled her eyes and scoffed before responding, "Yeah, right? You really want me to answer that honestly? Besides, we have our lunch planned back at camp anyway. So thanks, but no thanks, monkey boy. C'mon ladies, let's get back to camp!"

She looked like she was about to start stomping away and I was about to go after her (and possibly push her into the lake on the way back) since I was really annoyed and angry at her for ruining my first chance to be around Lazlo in 4 years.

And I was about to rally the scouts to go back too until I heard Clam call out, "Bye Gretchen!"

Immediately, Gretchen froze and turned back around almost robotically, seeing a combination of fire and daggers flying out of her eyes at Clam.

Okay, I'm still miffed, but… I still couldn't help but smirk a little at this 'gift' I didn't know I needed.

Look, Gretchen and I are still friends… but that still doesn't mean I don't still get mad at her sometimes.

Ahhh… Clam, I owe you big time.

Gretchen kept staring him down with a death glare as Clam just kept smiling at her. It was dead silent until Gretchen eventually started slowly but surely walking over to Clam, who was still grinning all the while.

The sound in our immediate area aside from some birds chirping were Gretchen's shoes crunching over the dried leaves.

Eventually, she got right in front of Clam, who still hadn't stopped smiling (if anything his smile got even bigger the closer she got to him).

All of us just kept standing there and trying to figure out 'what was about to happen', considering even I was still trying to figure out why Gretchen still hadn't done anything.

Although I could see her annoyance was still there as she was looking directly at Clam so they were eye-to-eye.

Ever since Clam hit his 'growth spurt' last year, it really annoys Gretchen that he's the same height as her now for some reason. But, then Clam took off his backpack and started digging around.

Lazlo and I looked at each other in confusion and Gretchen looked both confused and even more irritated as she was trying to figure out what Clam was doing.

Well, until Clam just pulled out a sandwich and held it out to her as he asked with a grin, "Still want one?"

It looked like something in Gretchen 'snapped' as she picked up Clam over her head before tossing him away. And it wasn't until now that I realized that Gretchen tossed him toward the pit she dug and covered up last night and before anyone could do anything, Clam fell in and we heard a loud 'THUD' as Clam let out a slight pained, "Ouch!"

Lazlo immediately ran over and called out in concern, "Clam! Clam, buddy! Are you okay?!"

Even I was concerned as I ran over too, but not before giving Gretchen a look to silently ask her what her problem is?!

Again, she may be my friend… but she seems to be getting WAY more out of hand than she used to be.

Sure Gretchen has always been kind of like this since I met her when we were kids, but… yeah, I've never seen her act this bad, even with Clam.

Seriously! She could've REALLY hurt him just now for no reason at all!

But, fortunately, both Lazlo and I visibly breathed a sigh of relief as Clam called up, "I'm okay!"

I looked further in the pit and my eyes went wide when I saw Clam about 12 feet down, just sitting down at the bottom of the pit and waving up at us.

Shallow pit? SHALLOW PIT?! Since when does THIS qualify as a 'shallow pit' to Gretchen?!

But, I felt even more relieved seeing that he was okay as he stood up and started trying to climb up. Well, until I felt my 'relief' getting interrupted as Gretchen said, "C'mon, ladies! Let's get away from these stupid Beans already."

The rest of the girls looked kinda freaked out and looked like they were mostly following her 'out of fear' at this point.

I gave her a weird look until I heard Lazlo say, "Don't worry! We'll help get you out, Clam!"

Immediately I turned back and said, "Lazlo, do you need any help?"

He looked back and said, giving me a small smile before saying, "Thanks Patsy, but… I think we'll just take care of this. Besides, you should probably go before Gretchen comes back and pushes Clam back down again."

I mean, I was a little disappointed, but even I sighed as I agreed, " Yeah… you're probably right. Seriously, I have no idea what's been going on with her lately."

I looked back off into the woods where Gretchen went until I heard Lazlo say, "But, it was great seeing you again. Maybe we'll see each other some other time later this summer? Maybe at the Tug of War?"

My eyes went wide, but I was really trying to keep my cool as I looked around, only for 'keeping my cool' to be WAY harder once I looked over and saw him giving me that genuine, happy, and cute smile that still hasn't changed a bit since I met him.

But, somehow I managed to smile back and say, "Yeah, sounds great." After that, I tried to go and catch up with everyone as Lazlo went back to trying to get Clam out of the pit.

Speaking of…

Seriously, what's been up with Gretchen to make things 'this' bad?

And our favorite Brazilian Spider Monkey is BACK! Now, I will go into where Lazlo was for 4 years and why he came back to Camp Kidney later if people would like to see this continued, but I will just talk about Lazlo for a little bit here. Because Lazlo is SUCH an endearing character to me! I just love how happy, genuine, and fun-loving Lazlo is to his core. Sure he can be naive and oblivious to his detriment unfortunately due to his personality, but I also appreciate Lazlo's resilience to eventually get through it and not let it change him. Honestly, that's what I always believed was a big reason behind Patsy's crush on Lazlo, because I do think that Patsy (apart from just thinking he's cute), genuinely does like and care about Lazlo because of how nice and sweet he is. Idk? I just think this ship is adorable. :) Thus why I wanted to write a fanfic mostly based around these two, their friends/fellow scouts, and their adventures during their final summer at Leaky Lake. But, I decided to make my own little change by making Lazlo, Patsy, and Company being in higher ranking positions in their scout troops since scouting is a very age-diverse organization and I just always found it kind of funny how there weren't more high school aged scouts shown in this series. So… I wanted to change that! :) Anyway, please feel free to leave constructive feedback on what you thought of this fic thus far and if you'd like me to continue? But, thank you for taking the time to read, and have a lovely weekend all!

Stay Classy!
