This is an attempt to reconcile the history of Universe 7's Saiyans as it was told in Z, GT and Super respectively.

When the Saiyans first truly arrived on the world of Planet Plant, they quickly found themselves competing with the indigenous natives at the time, an advanced species called the Tuffles. Even though they largely kept to themselves, the Tuffles believed them to be little more than mindless brutes and savages; in return the Saiyans viewed them as intellectual snobs.

One particular Saiyan called Vegeta III was not only displeased by this but also jealous of the Tuffles' prosperity, viewing his race as superior for being proud warriors. Rallying his kin, he led an assault on the Tuffles that ground into a stalemate, though not for long; the Saiyans managed to wipe out the Tuffles when the appearance of a full moon allowed them to unleash their Great Ape forms.

With the Tuffles gone, the Saiyans were free to plunder their once-dominant civilization, the leading Saiyan crowning himself king and renaming the planet. Setting their sights on the rest of the universe, they fought many battles until encountering a foe that seemed completely insurmountable.

Their species was suddenly attacked by mercenaries under the employment of an enemy race known as the Arcosians, or Frost Demons, who had been involved in the destruction of their previous home Planet Sadala. Despite their best efforts not even the Saiyan rulers and elites were able to defeat King Cold, leader of the Arcosians; and certainly none of them were able to defeat his sons Cooler and Frieza, even at their weakest.

Hoping for a miracle, the Saiyans turned to old stories about legendary warriors of incredible power known as a Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan God respectively. They figured if anyone could free them from their oppression, those capable of achieving such a status would be the ones to do so.

Unfortunately, Frieza grew paranoid upon hearing of these myths, taking note of the rising power levels regarding the Saiyans in general. He then recalled all Saiyans back to their home and covertly prepared to exterminate them. Despite the separate efforts of King Vegeta and a low-class warrior named Bardock he removed Planet Vegeta from all the star charts, leaving only a handful of Saiyans who believed their kind had been wiped out by a planetary collision.

Little did anyone know was that the legacy of the Saiyans would live on, them being avenged by members of the king and soldier's bloodlines in the future.
