Disclaimer: I do not own Doctor Who or Bionic Woman.

Hello, this is something I started awhile ago and I decided this time to write all the chapters of this story in advance. There will be a number of crossovers but at heart will remain a Doctor Who story.

The first crossover is with the Bionic Woman, the 2007 version as it works well for this story. Jaime Sommers is of course played by Michelle Ryan.

This about the Master, what he gets up to without the Doctor around and especially during the Time War where the chaos lets him get away with whatever he wants. Not the story of a hero, but a villain without a hero to stop him.

Hope you enjoy it…

The Master Chronicles 1 - Better with Two

Scoundrels Club, London…2005…

The Master was enjoying some nice tea in the club room of his favourite club, Scoundrels Club. Based in London his own personal chair by the fire gave him a particularly good view of St James's Park and when he felt the need to relax or to gather his wits after regenerating, he came here to sit in his chair by the fire, have tea from the attentive butler who was only a ring of a bell away and read from the newspapers, looking at the comics or any amusing wars.

He had no idea just when he had started doing this but it had become a habit, one he intended to keep going when it suited him. It was he admitted privately to himself, nice to take some much-needed respite from the Time War and just enjoy himself with simpler pleasures before diving straight back in with his schemes.

Today though he was using a laptop he had acquired from a particularly foolish UNIT soldier and was looking through the databases of Earth for anything that might amuse him or potentially prove useful. It was unfortunately rather mundane and he was almost about to call the butler for a fresh pot of tea and some fresh buttered scones with jam when he discovered something...intriguing.

The Berkel Group was an American based organisation that apparently operated as a sort of intelligence agency, one that dealt with the pathetically low level of technology that these apes felt was too advanced. He scoffed and would normally have just ignored them as useless but he saw they were indulging in a particularly innovative, for their people any way form of nanotechnology.

Antrocytes, he thought thinking the name rather silly but their ability to replace and repair damaged tissue was remarkable for this time. They were he thought with a calculating look in his eye still very primitive and the life expectancy of a person repaired and enhanced by them was only around ten years at the most but it was still potentially very useful.

The Master pondered for a moment, he had been rather busy lately and it would be an amusing diversion not to mention see if these 'antrocytes' were of any real use to him.

He finished his tea and last scone before getting up and returning to his Tardis, smirking a little as he planned out just what he was going to do.

Berkel Group Facility, 2007…

Will Anthros was working on the latest batch of his father's creation, Antrocytes. He was amazed at the improvements made by his newest colleague who it seemed really knew how to improve their functionality and coding. He was full of awe and maybe a little jealousy at the man's skill.

"Find something that interests you Mr Anthros?" A very cultured English voice said suddenly behind him and Will almost jumped as he had been so caught up in his work that he hadn't heard the white-haired man wearing a very expensive looking grey tweet suit and tie approach.

"Frankly Professor Tremas I was just admiring the improvements you've made to the Anthrocytes. Your coding is so complex it would take me months to unravel it." Will said politely to the man who smiled back with a small grin.

"Why thank you, I merely was able to take what you created and expand on it. Now shouldn't you be going? I do believe you have an appointment with a young lady to keep." Tremas said with a knowing look in his eye and Will froze for a moment before he realised the time had slipped him by. He was going to be late for his date with Jaime and he quickly got up and rushed out of the lab. The white-haired Englishman smiled as he left but it was a cold smile, one made purely for the benefit of maintaining a facade.

- x -

The Master or Professor Tremas as he was known having gained employment at the Berkel Group hated coffee, it was far too bitter and sour for his taste and he much preferred tea but it was what he had to hand so he gritted his teeth and drank the revolting concoction that they served in this deary and boring facility. He had started growing bored here but just as he was considering just taking the anthrocytes and leaving he heard a commotion and walked over the source of it, his curiosity caught for a moment.

From the observation window he saw that the rather absent-minded Mr Anthros was dressed in medical scrubs and with a staff of nurses and doctors was operating on a rather badly injured young woman below. Her legs had both been amputated below the knee and one of her arms was missing as well not to mention considerable wounds to her face. The sight amused him a little but what really caught his attention was that Mr Anthros was using his newly improved Anthrocytes to repair the young woman.

Now he realised with clinical detachment would be a good opportunity to see if they lived up to their potential and so he left to monitor at a distance with the facility's computers. Also, to learn what he could of the young lady in question. As he sat in his office sipping the disgusting coffee again when he was rather rudely interrupted by Ruth Truewell, the second in command of the facility and a rather irritatingly observant woman.

"Professor, Director Bledsoe has called a meeting regarding the patient." She told him briskly and pushing aside his annoyance at this human who felt they had the right to give an order to someone who was far superior to them but he pushed his desire to kill her aside, got to his feet and told her calmly.

"Then we must attend, how is the young lady in question? I see she was rather badly injured."

"She is stable, now Professor." Ruth told him and again forcing himself not to shoot her with his well concealed laser screwdriver as he followed the annoying woman to the meeting room. The chairs were far from comfy and he missed his comfortable chair back in the club but instead buried himself in reading the young woman's file and listening to what was said. Mr Anthros was looking very uncomfortable as it was his girlfriend they were talking about.

Jaime Sommers, the Master read. Born in Van Horne, Iowa to political activists that would often leave for protests around the country for weeks on end and a very active student at her local school. A lot of extracurricular activities, high marks and well-liked by her fellow students and teachers but took on jobs to help at home and cared for her mother when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. With little help from her father, she had taken care of her and lost the chance to go to Harvard because of it but when her mother had died, she had moved to San Francisco and done her best to continue her education while making ends meet as a bartender. Those plans though had been put on hold as her rather lazy and pathetic father had dumped her younger teenage sister on her doorstep and left Jaime to act as a surrogate mother and sister to the rather disobedient girl.

The Doctor would have loved her the Master thought with disgust at the sickly-sweet morals the young woman had. Still, she was he noticed with detachment intelligent, determined and resourceful. He pondered while Will argued against using the woman as a field agent which the Master was amused by, the young man should have thought about that before bringing her here he thought with a sense of derision.

Honestly, he did wonder how the Doctor had become so attached to this miserable little species? They were far from the strongest or the smartest and were so morally bankrupt they were capable of anything not least to each other he thought knowing all the nastiness they had done in the past and would do again the future. Perhaps the Master thought with some amusement to himself that was why he came here so often himself, to see how low they could sink.

Later he decided to see for himself just what sort of woman Jaime Sommers was, she was sitting in her bed in the medical observation room and the Master walked slowly in through the door with a warm smile that would have fooled anybody.

"Hello Miss Sommers." The Master said kindly to the young woman who he noticed was already looking far better than when he had last seen her. Those Anthrocytes really were remarkable he thought, they had repaired all the damage inflicted on her in record time without any scarring. The young woman looked up with distrust in her eyes, good he thought it wouldn't be any fun if she trusted him straight away. "I am Professor Tremas and I work with Mr Anthros. I thought I should see how you were doing and how you are feeling."

"Which no one seems to care about? I don't think so." Jaime said with narrowed, suspicious eyes. He smiled disarmingly at her and spoke.

"Oh, young lady, I care very much indeed. This project was never supposed to be used on a recipient that had not agreed beforehand and I was merely worried that you might be suffering unduly from your forceful recruitment by Doctor Anthros. It was my wish that this project to be used only to help people and while you certainly fit into the category, I would never wish harm on you." The Master said and he saw her anger at the man who claimed to love her. It amused him and he wondered if he might turn her against him but then her eyes turned guarded again, seemingly realising he was toying with her.

"Somehow I doubt it." Jaime said and closed herself off. The Master gave her a nod and left the room wondering briefly if she had any idea just what was coming? Did any of them he thought with amusement as he had made a number of his own improvements and hidden surprises that were currently racing along inside her body. Antrocytes that would not only enhance her body but were capable of self-repair and healing almost instantaneously, to the extent that they prevented her from even aging to keep her in prime condition.

But she was at least smart enough not to trust him which he thought was good, showed she wasn't as foolish as he had believed.

He waited patiently as time passed and Mr Anthros spirited her out of the facility to ensure she wouldn't be either killed or recruited as an agent. He monitored the readings from her anthrocytes and the implants they were building and admired not only her increased strength and speed but how quickly the anthrocytes were maintaining her implants and her body. Unlike the previous versions though, his improved anthrocytes developed her entire body, improving and enhancing it. They had already infiltrated her undamaged arm and enhanced it to the same level as the one that had been severed along with all the organs, they increased the scope of her vision and her hearing to far greater levels than before and her healing rate was near instantaneous not to mention repairing the new implants. Her cardiovascular system and in fact her entire body were now far beyond what was traditionally possible with a human he thought with pride in his work and he would enjoy watching what came next.

Hours later he watched from his Tardis as Miss Sommers went into a club to work, it was too noisy and full of people for his tastes but he endured and watched her being taunted by the previous 'Bionic Woman' the mad and failed Sarah Corvus. He wondered just what she was trying to do here but was content to let it play out for now.

Then he watched as Miss Sommers followed her out into an alleyway and was confronted by a rough looking mugger with a knife, her unarmed combat skills that had been programmed into her body though swiftly let her disarm him and soon she had his own knife at his own throat, he was actually interested in whether she would actually kill him but her morals annoyingly won out and she dropped the knife and ran away.

Her readings though he thought as he turned back to the displays were impressive. She was an almost perfect soldier if she had not been so confined by her own moral code.

Jaime Sommers would need a little push to achieve her full potential he thought with a vicious and cruel smirk. He decided he might as well have a little fun doing it though and reached down for one of the infernal communications devices that they all had glued to their ears in this century, he had a few calls to make.

- x -

Jaime banged hard on the door of Will's apartment; her mind was racing as she tried to come to terms with what had just happened in that alleyway.

She had nearly killed a man! She had the knife at his throat and him begging for mercy, using moves she had no control over she thought with distress. Like she had been a puppet of these things they put inside her!

She honestly was terrified at what was happening. She wanted these things out of her as soon as possible and so in her desperation she had gone to the one person who she knew would be able to give her answers.

Will opened the door and she pushed past him with her anxiety so high she didn't even let him say a word before she started talking.

"What did you put in my head? I almost killed a guy. I mean I would have. What did you put in my head?" She asked him desperately and Will was feeling very unsettled himself but as he pushed the door closed it was stopped by someone else's hand.

"I am sorry Mr Antros but I have uncovered some rather surprising details about the Antrocytes and need to speak with you and Miss Sommers immediately," Professor Tremas said with concern and urgency on his face. The professor showed far more strength than Will would have believed possible given his age and normal stature and forced his way into the apartment. Seeing Jaime there he then told her. "Miss Sommers, I discovered this young lady down in the lobby looking for you."

That was when Will and Jaime saw that the Professor was not alone, Becca was standing behind her and looking worried.

"Jaime, what the hell is this old man going on about? Antrocytes? What is this?" She asked and Jaime was already overwhelmed at everything that was going on and now this was just too much for her to cope with.

- x -

"In answer to your question Miss Sommers which I couldn't help but overhear, implants have been created throughout your body by the antrocytes as they repaired the damage inflicted upon you. They are encoded to grant you with certain...skills that Mr Antros and his father thought were useful for a soldier." The Master said with hidden glee as he knew just how much fun it was to turn people against their friends and those that 'loved' them. He didn't get to do this nearly as much as he would have liked and this was going to be enjoyable.

"You turned me into a soldier?!" Jaime exclaimed with horror and the Master seizing the moment before Will could defend himself spoke again to pour salt into the wound.

"Oh, of course he did. He chose you from the moment you met, why else is there a profile of you in his wardrobe. He saw a woman that was gullible enough to believe anything he said and still be useful. He always intended you for this. Just like how your father used you to care for your mother when she got sick rather than do it himself so you couldn't have the chance of an actual life of your own and how he forced you to take in your sister who is being such an irritation that you are constantly having to put your own life on hold just to cater to her needs." The Master said pushing buttons that would be sensitive and anger her.

Will and Becca both looked at him with shock at what he was saying when he had always been so polite before, Jaime herself was the Master noticed with satisfaction looking extremely angry, almost red in the face before she raced off and there was a sound of furniture being flung everywhere before Jaime came back as quickly as she had left with a file in her hand, looking at Will with so much rage her hands were white from the pressure she was exerting on them.

Then suddenly Jaime started crying out in pain, her hands going to her head as fell to her knees. Will and Becca rushed over to her while the Master watched with amusement. Jaime looked up through the tears of complete agony that were running down her face, looking at him with accusation.

"What is happening to me!?" She screamed at him with pain seemingly having figured out he was responsible but he smiled as Will turned ready to demand the same thing only for the Master to answer her question.

"Oh, my dear you really are quite clever aren't you for an ape. You see I made more than a few upgrades to the nanomachines Mr Antros created and took them from stone knives and bear skins into something far more complex. They have infiltrated every part of your body and enhanced your entire physique to a much higher level but more crucially they have also entered your brain. It only took a surge of anger and stress making chemicals rushing through your brain to push you over the edge. Now they are 'editing' you...cutting out parts of you that are getting in the way of you fulfilling your true potential." The Master told her with a sinister smile on his face as he looked down at her with satisfaction.

"What parts!?" Becca screamed with fear for her sister while Will threw a punch at him only for the Master to easily catch it and throw the man down on the floor. The Master then turned to the two young ladies on the floor and saw that they both looked terrified which only made him enjoy this moment more.

"Compassion, empathy, guilt, fear...love. But don't worry my dear." The Master said knowing her terror was getting worse and the last part would just destroy her. "Soon you will feel nothing that I don't want you too...you won't even miss it, soon you will follow my orders without question. I don't usually take 'companions' as an old enemy/friend of mine does but you will make a fine assistant." He said with a smile that seemed almost demonic.

Becca tried to lash out at him as did Will but he pulled out a device from his pocket, a thin gold and silver tube and quick as a flash shot both Will and Becca with a blast of orange energy, that send them both down to the ground. Jaime despite the intense pain she was feeling lunged forward, determined to kill him but the moment she got close enough she felt her muscles slack and she collapsed to the floor again.

"Don't worry my dear, they're not dead. I would usually but I think it would be better for them to live with the knowledge of what you are about to become. If you are wondering just why you can't hurt me, well I encoded a little block in the technology. No one with any of these antrocytes as Mr Antros calls them can harm me. It simply won't let you." He said with a smile and she through her gritted teeth snarled at him.

"One...day...I... will...kill...you." Jaime said with difficulty as it was a struggle through the pain to speak but he only patted her gently on the head like a dog.

"Oh, my dear Jaime, after this over...you won't want too. You will revel in greed, in causing misery and pain as much as I do. A companion...at last." He said with a mocking irony, enjoying corrupting this young woman to his ways.

That devastated her the Master thought with satisfaction and sat back in a nearby chair and watched with great anticipation as she struggled to hold on to herself as the antrocytes went to work, he listened as did the still conscious but temporarily paralysed Will and Becca. They watched as she squirmed and screamed there on the floor, trying in vain to hold on to her...humanity the Master supposed but it was hopeless.

Jaime could actually feel all the good parts of her fading away, tears ran down her face as she felt all the hopelessness and fear take over. With her last bit of strength, she said.

"Becca, I love you!" She said in barely a whisper, needing to let her sister know that whatever happened next that she loved her so much!

Becca reached out a hand as did Jaime but the two women were too far apart to reach each other, the Master sat with amusement glad to have come here now to see such entertainment.

- x -

When at last Jaime stopped squirming at the floor and sat up right the Master was almost sad to see her suffering end. It had been one of the better entertainments he had seen in years but he was eager to see just how effective his little project had been.

Jaime got to her feet and stretched to release all the tension in her muscles, sighing with satisfaction before looking around settling on the Master and smiled with a nasty little smirk which he returned much to the horror of Will and Becca.

"How are you feeling my dear?" He asked her with a sly look and she told him with a carefree joy that was so at odds with her earlier behaviour it was like chalk and cheese.

"Much better sir. Although would it be possible to take a bath or at least clean myself up. I look awful." She said as she looked at herself in a mirror, tear marks staining her cheeks along with dried sweat and the Master chuckled at her vanity before telling her.

"I am afraid not my dear but I will allow you to indulge yourself later if you wish. First though I need you to do a little task for me...one last test."

"Anything sir." She said eagerly which only made the Master smirk wider and Will & Becca to look more scared. Becca tried to reach for her sister again but Jaime looked down at her with a mocking pout and shook her head, devastating Becca who was greeted with a woman that she had never seen before, one that shared the same body as the sister that she had loved but always taken for granted. A terrifying figure that she didn't recognise at all.

"Sarah Corvus is nearby. Find her and kill her, tear her head clean off to make sure she stays dead this time." The Master said with actual interest to see how his 'bionic woman' as idiotic as he found the term compared to the previous model. As testament to her newfound loyalty to him she did not waste any time in taking the picture he offered her and taking a moment to commit it to memory before rushing off at a speed that seemed impossible.

"Who are you?!" Will demanded, still not able to move as his entire body felt numb. His fear for Jaime and what had been done to her made him try to get up but it was futile. Crouching down to be face to face with him the man who had done this said.

"I am the Master, and she will obey me. Now I bid you farewell Mr Antros, oh and tell your superiors that the coffee at your miserable little facility was truly appalling. I must dash though; I wouldn't want to miss this." He told him with a cold smile before walking away leaving Will and Becca completely helpless on the floor.

On the nearby roof Sarah Corvus was preparing herself to snipe the annoying little bastard that had shacked up with Sommers. Another bionic woman she thought with interest, wondering if maybe she might be the key to solving her own little problems but as she peered down the sniper scope into the apartment, she saw that there was no sign of Antros at all. She wondering if she could try another angle when something blocked her sights.

She looked up and saw Sommers grinning at her before smacking her hard in the face, Sarah was thrown back against across the roof and slammed hard into the wall next to roof access door. Sarah was stunned by not only the hit but the force behind it. She couldn't hit even half that hard and she felt her nose stab with pain, letting her know it was broken. She gritted her teeth and forced it back into shape as she got to her feet, Sommers was advancing slowly at her with that annoying smirk on her face.

"You want it? Bring it." Sarah said with smugness, she knew this bitch's combat programming as they had the same shit in them. Sarah also had the advantage of years more training and experience so she knew she could beat this bitch. The rain had now started and they were both soaking wet and the roof was slippery but neither woman cared and stood ready to fight.

The pair ran towards each other and Sarah swung a punch to repay Sommers for breaking her nose but Sommers moved way faster than she could and grabbed her arm, twisted it at a very painful angle before pulling hard.

Sarah cried out in pain as she felt her arm being dislocated but Sommers wasn't finished, kicking hard in the shin which split the bone. Sarah screamed but before she could recover and wonder just how in the hell Sommers was so much stronger than her the other woman took a firm hold of her neck and twisted as hard as possible and Sarah knew no more.

- x -

Sarah's head came clear off her shoulders and Jaime looked down at the bitch that had killed her baby with satisfaction. The Master came up with an umbrella in his hand to keep dry and smiled cruelly.

"Well done my dear, now let us be off. There is much to do." The Master said and Jaime nodded, tossing the head aside before walking off with the Master, he graciously let her stand under his umbrella even though she was already soaked and she smiled before asking.

"Where too now?"

He smirked a little before saying.

"I have a few projects in mind, prepare yourself my dear. It is the journey of a lifetime." He told her as they arrived at his Tardis, currently disguised as rooftop shed. He opened the door and she stepped inside.

It was a darker room than his people usually preferred which was partly why he liked it, black marble on the walls around with an enormous screen on the ceiling above the centre console which itself was on a large raised base with four iron pillars and a white glowing light inside. She walked in full of awe before looking at him, he shook his umbrella before closing the door and told her.

"Horrible weather, now my dear let us see what the universe has to offer. There are many worlds just waiting to be explored...pillaged...exploited...conquered. There is so much to see and do, we'd best get started." He said with a sinister grin and pulled the console level that started the Tardis off. The ship dematerialised from Earth and threw itself into the time vortex as Jaime stared in wonder at her new life and her master.

The Berkel Group Base, Earth...Two Days Later...

"Can someone please explain to me how this happened?!" Jonas Bledsoe said with anger on his face as he was appalled at how badly his organisation had fucked up. Those around the table all looked down, not able to meet him in the eye. Ruth Truewell, his second in command and the person who was responsible for hiring new personnel told him with bitterness.

"His background check was completely clean, we checked it with every means we had and it was airtight. I have never seen anything this elaborate and intricate. I am looking into it but it seems that Professor Tremas never existed...but I might have found out who he is." She said and pulled out a file marked with a UNIT stamp and seal. "A friend over at UNIT got me this."

"So, who is he?" Will asked desperately, wanting to know so they could find the bastard and get Jaime back. Ruth however told them a story that was almost unbelievable.

"He isn't human, he's an alien. A Timelord according to the UNIT files, he's been causing trouble on Earth for centuries but he hasn't been seen in decades and he has changed his face a lot. A lot of aliases but usually refers to himself as 'The Master'. It sounds like science fiction but it's all true. Chances are he and Sommers are off world by now." She told them with annoyance at being so blind-sided by him. Will she noticed was ready to just collapse into a mess on the floor at the loss of his girlfriend and the knowledge she was likely now far beyond their reach.

"So, we have an alien psychopath running around somewhere with a bionic woman at his command. We can either beat ourselves up about this, or we can do something about it. Will, have you had any luck in decoding his modifications to the antrocytes? WILL." He said sharply and Will who looked like the living dead tried to collect himself before saying in an unsteady and rough voice.

"No... the coding he used is beyond complex. In time I think I can break it but...for now it's just too much." He said, meaning that last part in more ways than one, his hand holding his head up. Jonas frowned before saying in the hopes it might motivate him.

"The faster you crack that code, the faster you can help your girlfriend. And how is our secret weapon if they come back before we're ready?" He asked and Will managed to speak despite literally going through hell last night.

"The damage was extensive but the antrocytes preserved her internal organs and higher brain functions till we were able to reattach...the head." He said not really having ever expected to say that. "I've managed to use my own original antrocytes to begin the healing process and she should be operational within a month."

"Good, because if the Master and Sommers come back then we will need a bionic woman of our own." Jonas said hoping that he was making the right call here but his options were limited and his mission required him to be ready for all eventualities.

- x -

In a secure room, tied down to a bed Sarah Corvus lay attached to a life support machine while the fresh antrocytes Will had given her did their work. A big scar on her neck where her head had been severed was clearly visible but it was already being fixed and would soon be gone completely.

Jae walked in and looked at the woman that he had loved and thought he had killed in a medical coma while she healed. He had missed her and felt guilty for a long time but now she was back and after a real brush with death.

He gently stroked her blonde hair and she seemed to sigh a little which made him smile.

There we are, now the Master has a companion to accompany him on his schemes and travels, it will be quite an adventure.

Please leave a review to let me know what you thought.

Next Chapter - Jaime's first journey in the Tardis to a parallel world where she gets to see humanity's darker nature.
