AN: Someone asked why Bakugo gave the student pledge instead of Midoriya. The simple answer is, i forgot that I made Izuku win, for continuity's sake I'll say it's because he had the highest villian score.
"IT'S TIME FOR THE GRAND FINALLLLL!!!!! ARE YOU REAADDDDYYYY!!!??"
A roar from the crowd resounded back to Present Mic, "I CANT HERE YOU. I SAID ARE YOU REAADDDDDDDYYYYYY!!!!!?????"
An even louder cheer erupted back, shaking the glass of the announcer booth.
"That's more like it. Now we've seen some brilliant competitors today, haven't we Shota?"
"..."
"That's right we sure have, but it's time to settle this debate once and for all. We've analysed their weapons, stats and abilities and now it's time for a DEATH BATTLE!!!"
"There will be no death, and we haven't done anything."
"Aw c'mon Shota, don't ruin my fun."
As Eraser and Mic continued to bicker the competitors met in the ring.
"Hey Nerd you ready?"
"You know it Kacchan, let's bring the house down." The boys fist bumped before walking back to their starting positions.
"Just because this is the final doesn't mean you have to try to destroy the arena. If it gets out of hand I will call the match."
"Yes, Midnight Sensei" they both rolled their eyes.
"BEGIN"
At the whip crack Izuku immediately began to summon a construct he had been saving for his next fight with Bakugo. Bakugo watched as the familiar flashes of Izuku's summoning began and continued for a good fifteen seconds. He heard a slight whining sound as the green of Izuku's energy surged throughout the pile of summoned items.
What had been a jumbled mound of different Zonai parts jolted upright, standing on two legs, it had large sleds making up the front armour of its torso, attached to each shoulder were construct heads with an array of weapons attached to them and sitting on top was a Jade green All-Might mannequin head (Izuku had instantly favourited the head in his Auto-build when he found it at the beach).
"ALL-MECH" Izuku screamed, his cheeks hurting from how wide he was smiling. He was crouched over a control stick within the belly of his mech, he pushed it forwards causing the wheels at the hips of the mech to walk forward stomping.
"HAHAHHAHAAH, What the fuck is that Nerd? You're such a fanboy"
Having let Izuku complete his super hero transformation, Bakugo finally leapt into action. He blasted off the ground, as he reached his own firing range however the four laser emitters burst to life, the beams tracking his path as he was forced to continue to dodge erratically. Meanwhile the cannons built charge before firing as well, Bakugo as accustomed to explosions as he was reacted instantly flipping out of the way of the cannonballs as he continued to try to fly closer.
With a spin he closed the gap using twin explosions he lanced forward like a cannoball himself. Before he could slam an explosion into the hip joint of the mech however the flame emitters flared to life. Bakugo was forced to curse as he retreated. While he had substantial fire resistance, the sweat would all be ignited at once, which was a painful experience for everyone involved.
Bakugo cursed as he jumped back, taking a moment to inspect the mech Izuku had built. The mech looked ramshackle, but he could tell that Izuku had carefully chosen the parts and placement. While Izuku's glue wasn't that strong, Bakugo knew he had to hit it from close range or with a focused blast.
Decided on his course of action, Bakugo landed back on the stage, crouching down he began firing compressed explosives into the joints. The lasers which had been tracking him the entire match quickly locked on to his torso, burning through his short quickly and turning Bakugo's chest into a red welt.
Izuku was now forced onto the back foot, literally, as the barrage of shots separated one of the legs and one of the construct heads on the shoulder. "Your aim has improved Kacchan, but I've got some tricks still." With that, the protective sled on the front bounced upwards moved by a spring, Through the gap Izuku peeked out with a charged cannon, the explosive shot forward blasting the ground directly in front of Bakugo.
Bakugo tumbled back, landing on his feet, Luckily the smokescreen stopped the lasers tracking so he had a moment to compose himself, with a huff he blasted out of the smoke straight forward. He saw now that the mech had been completely fixed, using his momentum he tumbled and rolled between the mech's legs.
"DIIIIEEEEE", on a knee he cocked both arms back, launching them up into an enormous blast that lifted the mech and shredded it to pieces, as it shattered it was rendered into the green motes of light of disintegration. He watched through the explosion for Izuku's next trick, as he stared straight up the glare of the sun was temporarily blocked by a shape far above him.
The kick-back from overusing his quirk was starting to make Bakugo's arms shake, his shoulders ached and his fingers twitched.
Izuku far above the stadium panted in exhaustion from so much creation, he flew on a simple hover bike construct, that slowly sapped his energy. "Just a little longer" he mumbled to himself, forcing his eyes to stay open, just long enough for his last construct to finish summoning.
Bakugo's eyes widened as he took in what Izuku had built, his face quickly changed to a sharp-toothed grin as he roared out a challenge.
Falling towards the stage was a six by six grid of spheres joined together, as the fell the spheres began to flash quicker and quicker. Bakugo undeterred, waited in the middle of the stage, assuming a strange pose, he lay on his back with his hands and feet together in the air. Some in the audience even had the audacity to laugh at the comedic position, those smirks were quickly wiped away however as a blast larger then any they had seen the entire day filled the air of the stadium.
Endeavour in the audience, had been waiting to watch the downfall of the punk who had beaten his progeny, was gobsmacked when the blast enveloped the sky. The blast was on par with his prominence burn, and the delinquent who created it was still in his first year, he made a note to send a work study his way.
Everywhere in the crowd people were forced to shield their eyes as they were momentarily blinded, many felt the sweat on their skin evaporate instantly.
Thankfully high enough above the stadium to not be caught in the fire of the blast Izuku fought to maintain control of his bike as the pressure wave threw him through the air. He gradually got control back, but his energy reserve were spent. He began to drop like a rock falling back into the stadium through the blackened hole in the roof, he grabbed at whatever power he still had left.
The fans of his bike surged to life once more, giving just enough lift to slow his descent from a crash to a hard landing. He tumbled off, rolling to a stop he looked to the middle of the ring. Just a few metres away Bakugo was embedded into the ground, his explosive force enough to crater his entire back through the concrete. His arms lay limply to either side of him while his legs twitched weakly.
Midnight raised her whip to call the match.
"DON'T YOU DARE YOU HAG!" Bakugo screamed, "We're not done yet. Right Nerd?"
"You bet Kacchan" Izuku coughed out a laugh as he pushed himself upright. He watched as Bakugo rolled to his left, screaming in pain as the movement jolted and aggravated both of his dislocated shoulders.
They faced off once more Bakugo in obvious pain as his arms hung limply down his sides and Izuku bent over and wobbly, struggling to keep his eyes open. Bakugo as usual made the first move, diving forward into a should tackle using Izuku's sternum to reset his shoulder, he use his reset arm to scoop under Izuku's leg to flip him to the ground.
Izuku wheezing out front the chest shot, dropped an elbow into Bakugo's injured shoulder. Bakugo jolted from the pain was unable to complete the flip and could do nothing as Izuku landed a solid hook to his jaw. Bakugo used the momentum of the punch to swing into a perfect roundhouse kick that caught Izuku just behind the ear dropping him to the ground.
Bakugo was quick to capitalise jumping on top of Izuku and raining down blows on his face. Izuku in a last surge of energy activated Ascend, the hollow blindness surged through his senses for a millisecond before he became tangible again above Bakugo.
Bakugo tumbled forward as the weight shifted to directly above him, with his one dislocated shoulder he could do even less to defend as now Izuku rain blows down. Bakugo was left shaking the stars from his eyes as Izuku stood up.
Izuku's vision tunnelled as he summoned one last item, he attached it to Bakugo's shirt and rapped against the side of it.
The rocket ignited, Bakugo's back dragged along the concrete before hitting the open air and finally he tumbled to the ground outside the ring.
"Winner Izuku Midoriya" Midnight announced.
Everyone in the audience was silent as the end of the match finally caught up to them. In the middle of the stage Izuku stood tall one more time, raising his Zonai arm into the air before passing out in a dead feint. The crowd boomed their approval as Mic preceded to wrap up the event, both teens were rushed to recovery girl.
The awards ceremony came time at the end of the day, on the podiums stood Kendo smiling with a great deal of excitement, Todoroki with a contemplative expression, Bakugo who seemed torn between sulking and proud and Izuku who seemed so tired that he could barely stand.
"And now, to present the awards, we have ..."
"I AM HERE"
"ALL MIGHT"
The teachers looked at each other for a moment.
"Anyway, everyone please give a cheer for your first year champions."
While the crowd rumbled All Might quickly placed medals on Kendo's and Todoroki's necks, whispering a quiet word to both.
Izuku was just close enough to hear what Allmight said to Bakugo, "Be proud young man, your training showed itself well. You'll be an excellent hero." Bakugo's back straightened as he heard those words, with a gleam in his eyes.
When Allmight approached Izuku, he felt a strange feeling of dejavu, it was like all his childhood dreams were coming true.
"Well done, young Midoriya. You've shown everyone what you can do. As winner this year's there's a small reward, I'll organise a meeting with Nezu to give it to you. For now enjoy your victory."
The weight of the medal settling around his neck was almost enough to make Izuku topple. He paused for a heartbeat, letting the excitement of the crowd washed over him. Finally, unable to hold them back any longer his eyes erupted into a geyser of tears that created a fountain above the podium.
After the medal ceremony Aizawa called his class together before dismissing them.
"Well done most of you. I trust that most of you know what to work on, if you don't then you can ask me later. You have the next 2 days off while the second and third year events are happening. Use the time to recover, but I also have a task." There was a low groan from the lazier members of class. "You will each pick a member of the second and third years, you will analyse their performance and write a short report. Work out what they did that you could improve on yourself and what you could do that they did. That is all, I'll see you on Monday, dismissed."
Izuku had a great time watching the 2nd and 3rd years sat between Bakugo and Momo. For the second years he chose a female named Morine Haruki, she had a telekinetic quirk that was limited to one item at a time, it also seemed that the force it put on an object to hold it was always at maximum.
Bakugo was forced to stop Izuku's writing when he had finished 2 entire pages with as many dot points as he could fit. Morine only made it to the second round, probably due to her inability to target living things with her quirk, unless she wanted to squish that person like a grape.
Bakugo wrote about a student who could transform energy they receive into electricity. Momo meanwhile watched one of the support course students who had an interesting assemble ability, it seemed that anything he touched seamlessly connected to whatever other parts he had (I'm picturing the building from the lego games).
During the 3rd year tournament Izuku was immediately drawn to a brawny figure who led the pack through the first 2 events. From what he could see the student had a similar although much more versatile version of Ascend. Izuku was brimming with questions for the student, he couldn't wait to find him when they were back in school.
