After everyone was geared, they entered the D102. Jane was wearing her Mjolnir Mk. IX, Jenil wore Sangheili Standard Ground Armor modified with an Eezo shield, and John was wearing what Jane said to be a modified version of ODST armour, with an N7 logo and stripes right under the UFSC eagle, on his left chest also stood 'CC Spectre/N7 J. Shepard', multiple doses of medi-gel on his belt, a canister of medi-foam on his back and a new Omni-tool on his arm. While Johns armour wouldn't give him any advantage in strength, it did provide quite good shields and protection while only limiting his mobility slightly.

Flying down planet side in the D102, John looked at Jenil and Jane -In the cockpit was an engineer that was double trained, apparently common in Prowler crews-. Jenil had an unreadable expression and Jane had her helmet on. The flight took multiple minutes, though they felt more like multiple hours. When they entered the landing area, EDI said over the comms, "Ground Team, be advised, I just picked up a shuttle planet side and multiple com signals. The shuttle is of Quarrian make and intercepting one signal, it was confirmed that we are dealing with a Quarrian Marine Team. They are likely also looking for the Quarrian, working with them should prove to be the best course of action. However, caution IS still advised."

"Understood, EDI," Jane said as the Transporter set down, "GO! GO! GO!" she screamed, as she and the Sangheili stormed out of the craft, weapons raised, ready for battle. John left shortly behind them.

Jenil was carrying a modified version of a Covenant Plasma Carbine, a Z-180 Scattershot on his back, with a Magnum on his hip. Jane had a standard M739 LMG made near the end of the 'UNSC-era', with a plasma pistol on her hip. John was carrying a Heavy Pistol and a Magnum on his hip, when he complained that he couldn't have a second Eezo weapon, Jane merely said that whatever he wants can be brought on board after the mission, as they didn't stock up yet believing that they had a few more weeks before the first mission. Sweeping the area, Jenil said over the comms, "LZ secure. Moving to position-1."

Moving down to the doors, John activated his omni-tool to start hacking the system, while Jane and Jenil took cover next to the door, "What do you think we will meet?" Jane asks.

"I don't care," Jenil replies, "But likely nothing, as at the other-" only to be interrupted by EDI.

"Ground Team, be advised, I am detecting multiple new energy signatures between you and the Quarrian team. Likely automated defense systems that were deactivated or mechs. Likely controlled from a warehouse in the middle of the colony, putting up waypoints to get you there. Advise great caution."

Looking at Jenil, Jane said, "A yes… nothing."

"Yeah, Yeah… but can you blame me, on all other colonies they were deactivated for good. Only reactivatable when someone activated them over the console." Jenil shot back, "So… Good news, there is a survivor. Bad news… he activated the defense systems, so will have to deal with dozens of mechs and automated turrets."

John stepped back from the door and headed next to Jenil, his Omni-tool still active, "Okay, as soon as I open that door, Jenil and I will move to closer cover, Jane get them to concentrate on you."

"Why me?"

"Because you have the strongest armour and shields. AND can dish-out a not-so-inconsequential amount of damage," John replied, "Ready?... Good, Three, Two, One… MOVE IT!" he screamed as the doors opened, getting out of cover Jane started shooting at anything that wasn't her allies, while John ran to a set of crates on the right, while firing on the move, destroying one of the mechs, and Jenil ran straight through, over the bridge connecting the two sides with each other and took down the last one with his Scattergun.

When John looked to his right he saw three small, dog-like machines moving towards him. As he opened fire on them he took down one of them quite easily. When Jane moved up next to him, her LMG, took quick care of the other two. Waiting until Jenil reunited with them, they started moving to the compound ahead, opening the door they were met with two tables that still had food on them. "Looks like they were caught in the middle of dinner."

Moving further into the facility, Jane up front, with John behind her and Jenil next to her, with his Scattergun out. As they kept moving, they were met with an outdoor area, "Jane, Jenil cover me." John ordered. Stepping outside, at first nothing happened, until a LOKI-mech and a FENRIS-mech jump out of cover. As John and Jenil lit up the LOKI, Jane fired upon the FENRIS. As the FENRIS got closer, Jenil switched targets and shot twice on the FENRIS taking out its shields all the way, allowing Jane to make the rest into a heap of scrap metal.

When the FENRIS was nothing more than a piece of destroyed metal, John pulled the LOKI out of its cover with his biotics, and another loud ten-round 'burst' was given off by Jane, destroying the LOKI.

Jane looked at the destroyed mechs, "We had a worse struggle with the Geth. And these are supposed to be able to defeat a Geth in a one-on-one engagement," she commented.

Jenil looked at her, "Maybe the weapons you used to use are just garbage. Ever considered that?"

"Jane, hold your position and make sure nothing sneaks up on us. Jenil, with me," John ordered. Moving to the building adjacent to them, he put his Mattock on his back and opened his Omni-tool and started to hack the door. Shortly after starting the hack, EDI said, "Commander, detecting multiple life signs on the other side of the door, caution is advised."

John, stopping his hacking, asks EDI, "When do you NOT advise caution?"

After some time she responded with, "Never."

"I can attest to that," both others on his team said.

Ignoring both parties John got back to hacking the door, it only took him a little bit, but he could almost hear words being exchanged at the other side. "In three…" he said stepping back, "One, Two… Three!" he screamed, as the door opened, allowing for Jenil to enter, after which John pulled his rifle from his back, and stepped next to him. It all happened for maybe one or two seconds, and soon enough all Quarrians had their weapons trained at them.

"Who are you?" one of them asks. Only to be cut off by a frantic Quarrian woman, "PRAZZA! Stand down I am in charge here!" Stepping between the two groups. Some Quarrians elected to follow the order, but most elected to ignore it.

After some silence, Shepard lowered this Mattock and said, "Weapons down," moving his arm to where his ear is, something that would help the Quarrians understand he was talking over comms, "Jane, all clear, move up, gun down." Only to hear a "Yes Sir!" over the comms.

"Who are you?" the same Quarrian man, Prazza, said.

Before the woman could say anything, John spoke, "Name's John Shepard, this is Jenil 'Vadum, and out there," he said, pointing to where Jane just entered as he spoke, "Is Jane Shepard."

By now most of the Quarrians looked at them with their guns down and heads cocked slightly. "John is DEAD!" the Quarrian woman screamed aiming her shotgun at him.

"And who may you be?" John asks, "A Quarrian with anger issues, thinking her third-generation shotgun could defeat a Sangheili, a Spartan-V -in the latest of armor that would make the colossus look like a meager children's toy-, AND an N7 Spectre. Do you have a death wish?" he asks genuinely.

"No, I just don't stand it when others try and impersonate him," she responded, her voice filled with anger, keeping the weapon still trained on him.

John figured that the voice emulator and translator make all Quarrians sound similar, as he couldn't shake the feeling that he knew that voice, then looked directly at her head and saw the hood's muster. He didn't remember all the Quarrian muster, but he definitely remembered that one, the one of Clan Zorah, "Look I don't like this anymore then you do. But I'm pretty certain that Tali'Zorah could vouch-"

"How do you know my name?!" she screams, interrupting him and staggering back lightly, with most guns, once more, trained on him.

Taking off his helmet and gave it to the Sangheili, John looked right at Tali. With her last resolve now falling, her third generation shotgun -he couldn't figure out why she didn't have the one he gifted her- falling out of her hands, she mutters only one word, "What?", multiple emotions -such as anger, but also relief and disbelieve- evident in her voice. After multiple seconds, she regained her composure, pointed a finger accusingly at him, and screamed, "I SAW YOU GET SPACED!"
