2: Notes

Lena understood Alex's reasons for not moving in, but waking up in bed with Alex, Lena doubly understood Kara's reasons for pestering Alex to stay. Even with Kara's solid form between them, Lena felt a deep peace with Alex there. There was a hint of alpha musk in the air that set her at ease and made her shiver just a little. She bit back the urge to purr. Imagine having them both during my heat. The very idea made her want to burst into flames.

"Someone's having a good morning," Kara muttered, eyes still closed.

Lena groaned and blushed. "Don't." This is embarrassing! Kara could smell how turned on she was. She did not even want to acknowledge her current state.

"Why?" Kara turned, so she was pressed against Lena's side. She kissed Lena's neck.

"Because this is embarrassing enough already and Alex is right there," Lena replied.

"You think Alex would mind?" Kara snickered as she caressed Lena's hip. This was even worse. Kara was turned on from Lena's arousal.

"Maybe she doesn't want our first act of sexual intimacy to be me watching you have sex with her," Alex replied.

Lena breathed a sigh of relief, glad Alex was awake and on her side. She really did not want her first act of sexual intimacy with Alex being Alex playing voyeur to her and Kara enjoying each other in Alex's own bed. That did not seem fair. Of course, Kara was just used to getting her way with her bond-mates, so she probably had not considered that.

Kara groaned. "You guys slept together before."

"During my heat and Alex's rut and it wasn't intimate," Lena replied. "It's different."

Kara frowned a little. "How is it different?"

"Because it is," Lena said in a stern tone. "It's too much to explain this early in the morning. Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to go take a shower before this gets more embarrassing." Lena hurried out of bed. "Don't follow me, Kara." Thankfully, her tone was stern rather than a mess. She hoped Kara did not take it to heart, but she was not about to stick around to find out.

She heard Kara whine as she left the room. "But, I want you and you want me!"

Lena kept on walking. After a longer than usual shower where it took all of Lena's willpower to not put her hand between her legs, even as her traitorous mind conjured up all sorts of tempting images of Kara and Alex in bed. Maybe if she went back to the room, she could even catch them together. No, that's a stupid thought. Stop it. Just like she did not want to have sex with Kara with Alex right there, she did not want her first intimate experience with Alex to be like that. Yes, eventually, she was sure she would enjoy watching Alex and Kara, as she loved watching them spar, but now was not the time for it.

So, she shook the undisciplined thoughts away and marched to her walk-in closet to get dressed. As she donned a suit, she felt a little more like herself, the boss-self, and a little more in control. She was ready to face the day, even if the day had Kara's pout in it.

To gather more professionalism, Lena would even brave telling Alex her security plan. She would be able to focus on work. Yes, so do that and don't think about Alex fucking Kara from behind while Kara pleases you with her tongue. Damn. She might never be able to get that thought out of her mind now. Focus.

Lena stepped back into the common areas to find both Kara and Alex in the kitchen. They were already dressed, as if they had not done anything more than get ready for the day when she left them. Alex still dressed like she was on her way to the DEO everyday, black polo and black cargo pants. Kara was in one of her less pink dresses and had an English muffin to Alex's lips.

"Come on. I know you don't usually eat breakfast because of time, but now you have time," Kara said.

Alex groaned, but took a bite. "You're annoying."

"I love you and you love me." Kara kissed her cheek and then turned her attention to Lena. "Yes, my bond-mate who will sit with me for breakfast." Kara turned and grabbed Lena's smoothie from the counter for her.

"Yeah, breakfast time is your time," Alex pointed out, still dutifully eating her English muffin and sipping coffee.

Lena scoffed. "Don't be ridiculous. You being here is hardly an intrusion. Besides, you need to eat breakfast."

"Yes! I tell her that all the time," Kara said.

Alex scowled, but her eyes sparkled. "I didn't miss my run and still wake up early for this abuse."

"Then allow me another thing to help ruin your morning," Lena said as she sat across from Alex. Kara sat down next to her with a full plate of pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and a biscuit.

Alex frowned. "You're making me take the bus in?"

Lena laughed. "Of course not. No, I wanted to ask you to be my personal bodyguard whenever I'm outside in an official capacity." She could not believe she said that without her voice trembling.

Lena really did not want to upset Alex, especially since they had a date lined up for the night. Alex would not cancel the date, but she would stew in her anger, possibly ruining the night. Worse, she might resent it and then give into Lena because she liked to please. Lena really wanted this, but she did not want to pressure Alex into it.

Lena continued, needing to explain before Alex declined. "I know you've been trying to stay out of Devin's way since the security readjustment, but I'd just feel better, safer, if you were there whenever I have to leave the building."

"That's it?" A slight frown settled on Alex's face for a brief moment. "Yes, I'd love to do that! It'd save me a lot of anxiety actually and I don't care what Devin thinks with that one. Your safety trumps everything." Alex sounded so sure and the look in her eyes was beyond determination.

Lena resisted the urge to preen and it also took all of her willpower not to release at least a waft of pheromones. Starting her breakfast was enough of a distraction, especially when Kara started explaining what she had lined up for the day. Cat kept Kara busy for sure, but in a way Kara enjoyed. Lena chimed in with her schedule and they just sort of bounced off each other. It was a normal breakfast, plus Alex, who just quietly watched them.

Riding into work with Alex was not as joyful as Lena hoped. She already had calls to make once they were in the car. Alex had notes to keep her busy, eyes buried in her phone. They arrived at L-Corp and drew some attention, a few heads turning. People still did not understand Lena's relationship with Alex, even though it had been so many months of them clearly being friends.

"I called Devin, so we can go see her immediately. I think she'll take this news better if we see her rather than me calling her up to my office," Lena said. She wanted to make this transition as easy for Alex as possible. Alex had no friends at L-Corp, save her and Vasquez, and Alex deserved to socialize with the other brilliant minds at the company.

Alex nodded. "Sounds good. Start the day pissing people off."

"There are other jobs in other places if she has a problem." Lena was not going to let an employee, even a very good employee, dictate her personal safety. She was going to try to do this the nice way, but Devin could always go somewhere else if she had a real problem.

Alex did not argue that. They met Devin in her office. While Lena's decision was made and finalized in her mind, she did not enjoy coming across as tyrannical unless it was absolutely necessary, but she was prepared for that. Devin Star stood from her desk to greet Lena and then glanced at Alex before greeting her as well. Hands were shook and then Devin stayed standing with them, waiting to find out what this was all about.

"So, to make this as brief as possible, I just want to add Alex to my security detail whenever I'm out on official L-Corp business," Lena stated, motioning to Alex, who stood at attention. That is damn sexy. She shook that off, needing to focus on this in case Devin wanted to be difficult.

Devin's tanned brow furrowed, her dark brown eyes searching Lena's face. "What do you mean?"

"Exactly what I said. Please add Alex to my security detail. Actually, put her in charge." While they had not discussed that, Alex would take charge of the situation when she was part of the detail, so might as well make it official.

"Ma'am—" It sounded like an objection and Lena did not need to hear anymore.

Lena scowled just a bit. "It's not a request."

Devin took a breath. "I understand it's not, but why the sudden change? Has the detail not been to your liking?"

"I'd just feel safer with Alex there. Call it personal preference."

Devin nodded. "Well, it's your body being guarded…" She sort of mumbled this, like she did not agree with the decision.

Lena gave a curt nod of her own. "Glad we understand each other. Now, I have dozens of items to address, I'll leave you to hammer out the details. Let me know what you work out and I'll draw up the paperwork." Lena glanced at Alex, quite pleased with how easy this went. She had to resist the urge to kiss Alex farewell.

-8-8-8-8-

Alex could tell Lena was rather satisfied with the meeting, Devin not so much. She scowled at Alex the moment Lena was out of the room. Alex could not care less. Lena's safety was of the utmost importance and Alex would not hesitate to put down any person who tried to harm Lena.

"So, back at security, I see," Devin said, staring Alex down.

"This is her decision, not my request," Alex replied as cool as could be. Devin could not bully or intimidate her, especially since she would protect Lena better than any other person save Supergirl.

"But, I'm sure you didn't try to talk her out of it." Devin put her hand in her suit pants' pocket.

Alex scoffed. "Why should I? I could protect her better than the entire team around her now." Yes, it had been almost a year since she was with the DEO, but she still went out several days a week as Sentinel. She sparred with Supergirl almost daily. She also sparred with and trained other Superfriends to make sure they were ready to go out. She was at the top of her game.

Devin arched an eyebrow. "Bold claim. How about you prove it before I just go and hand you a job I'm not sure your 'FBI' ass is qualified for."

Alex shrugged. "If it makes you feel better."

"One hour, in the gym, you run through the entire squad."

Alex rolled her eyes. "Fine." That was simple enough. She knew more than enough about the team to run through them in no time. "Make sure Vasquez takes notes."

Devin did not appear happy with the apparent order, but Alex did not care. This should be a learning experience in some way. Well, beyond the obvious anyway.

After that, Alex left for her lab. She could at least set herself up for work before going to hand Lena's bodyguards their collective ass as well as individual. She answered a couple of emails and then looked through her notes to see if anything stood out to her about the accelerated healing formula. Yeah, I'm not going to check this in a half-hour.

With fifteen minutes to spare, Alex went to change her clothes down in the company gym. The gym was active as always. She had some black yoga pants and a white tank top. She did some warmups, stretching, and getting her heart rate going. There were glances in her directions, as if everyone remembered the last time she visited the gym. If they thought that was something, they were in for a real treat.

The noise level increased with the arrival of the bodyguard team. Sixteen people in total. They all did not go out with Lena every single time. It depended on where she was going, but that was the whole team. Alex would take out the two closest to Lena at all times just to prove a point. Devin was also there with Vasquez.

"So, we decided it'll work like this: you protect a fake Lena Luthor, played by me, and if any one of them gets to me, you lose," Devin explained. She was still in her suit, so she probably would not decide to jump in. Of course, she might just decide to get a workout in her business suit.

This sounded like a setup, but whatever. Devin could try to run away or trick her, but Alex would still come out on top. "Sure, let's do it. Ring or mats?"

"Mats." Devin motioned to the wider area. It would give the bodyguard team better use of their numbers. Alex still did not care.

Alex went to the mats and Devin stood behind her. The bodyguards were across from her. Vasquez stood on the sidelines as a crowd slowly gathered. They definitely remembered the last time Alex took on security. Well, she would make sure this was worse. She needed it plainly understood no one, except Supergirl, would be better for the position of Lena Luthor's bodyguard.

Devin blew a whistle as a signal that the exercise began, but nobody moved. Alex resisted the urge to go on the offense. This was by nature a defensive position. Plus, she was not sure what Devin might do, even if she was claiming to just be a stand-in for Lena.

Slowly but surely, the security team moved, planning to surround her apparently. They probably figured they would just overwhelm and overpower her. Well, that would not work. Alex backed them all up very quickly, paying the top two special attention. They fell to their knees as she worked their bodies with precise blows. The audience ooh'ed and awed, but also flinched and winced as Alex made the team rethink their life choices.

This went on for several minutes, but the whole affair was cut short and not through Alex's actions. She had planned to draw this out, show everyone she was a force when necessary. The crowd had swelled, Alex had dropped every member on the team at least once and a few were down point blank. It was loud and then all of the noise died down for just a moment.

Alex was not sure what happened, but then the smell hit her. Lena's pheromones. Delicious. If she was a lesser person the scent would have sent her to her knees as it stuck to the roof of her mouth. She caught a glimpse of Lena's retreating form. Had Lena just pheromone blasted the entire gym from watching her fight? The very thought made her knees wobble and she had to resist the urge to go check on her omega. No, she's not your omega. She needed to redirect her attention before she ran after Lena, anyway. She wanted to make sure Lena was all right, but she did not have that right as far as these people were concerned.

Alex glanced at Devin and her curled lip of disgust said it all. How many others in the crowded gym looked the same? Alex took a calming breath, not wanting to just shout to the mountains how childish they all were. Just because Lena did a pheromone blast did not mean anything. There were hundreds of medical reasons for that. Yeah, so stop thinking about her as your omega because there were a bunch of reasons for that to happen. Well, now Alex needed a distraction from talking herself out of the idea that her girlfriend was attracted to her.

"Best for the job?" Devin asked.

Alex motioned to the team, laid out or at least on their knees, all of them breathing hard. None of them looked ready to go at her again. "My work speaks for itself. If you think I'm here due to favoritism, that's your opinion." It was a lot of opinions, actually, despite her working speaking for itself here and in science.

"I didn't say all of that."

"Your face says it all." Now people would think Lena hired her as eye-candy. Never mind the fact that her first few months here, Lena had not glanced in her direction.

"Just trying to figure you out, Danvers."

Alex would have replied, but some of the security team realized the exercise was not over and tried to take advantage of the distraction. It was pitiful really, but at least they gave it another try. She wanted people who would keep getting back up to surround Lena. Alex took them out before they could even get close and made sure they would not get back up for a while. Alex shook her head.

"I know you all think I'm a pity hire and I honestly don't care, but never make the mistake of thinking I'm incompetent." Alex stepped off the mats.

Devin turned with her. "Nobody called time."

"I'm calling it," Alex said. She was done entertaining these idiots. She needed to make sure Lena was all right and she needed to stop trying to fit in around here. She had stopped fitting in a long time ago. "Because I don't have time to piss away on you anymore. I have lab shit waiting for me." And with that, Alex left.

One again, Alex resisted the urge to find Lena and comfort her. If Lena was embarrassed by her little arousal this morning just sharing a bed with Kara and Alex, Alex could hardly imagine how Lena felt advertising her desire in such a way. She itched to hold Lena and promise her that everything would be all right. Can't act like she's my omega, even though she kinda is. That was no one's business, though.

Alex made it back to her lab and was able to change back into her regular clothes there. Kara texted her wanting to know if Lena was okay because Lena called Kara. Great. Now, she also could not check on her bond-mate. She texted Kara back immediately. Please check on Lena.

Before she could do anything else, her door opened. She expected Vasquez or Fatimah, her colleague and former girlfriend. They were the only people who came to her lab before noon. Fatimah might be coming to check on her if she found out about what happened in the gym, which would also be the reason for Vasquez coming in. Instead, Devin stepped inside. Alex groaned. She was sick of Devin and security and it was barely ten in the morning.

Devin held up her hands in surrender. "I know. Okay, I know and I'm sorry."

"What do you know?" Alex asked as she sat down at her desk.

Devin looked around for a moment, as if taking in the size of her lab. It was barely the size of a modest bedroom, but then Devin focused back on her. "I know you've had a shit time of being at L-Corp, even now, and I know my attitude lately hasn't helped. You shouldn't be treated as if you're incompetent."

Alex sucked her teeth. "No shit."

Devin took a deep breath. "And I should've just respected Miss Luthor's decision instead of daring you like this is middle school."

This was true, but also not Devin's attitude twenty minutes ago. "Why the sudden change of heart?"

Devin glanced away and rubbed the back of her neck. "Vasquez sort of ripped me a new one the second you walked out.

Alex could hardly believe that. "Vasquez doesn't yell at superiors."

"Unless she thinks you've made a huge mistake. She pointed out I was making an ass of myself and the team by putting them against you. She told me this is humiliating for us and she's damn right. What happens when someone posts that online?"

"They better not." Alex could not stand for anything that could put Lena at risk, like seeing holes in her bodyguard team.

"Vasquez is already monitoring for that, but I should've realized that and I should already know what you're capable of. I've seen you work, not just in combat, but in security in general. I shouldn't have put you or the team in that position."

"All true."

Devin took another breath. "Once again, I took a teachable moment and considered it a threat. I should want the best for Miss Luthor and you're clearly the best. Instead of taking your presence as a personal insult or threat, I should learn from you, welcome you like I did in the beginning. I definitely shouldn't be like the asshole science nerds around here who think they're superior to you when we all know you actually beat them out on a project."

Alex's brow furrowed. "How do you know about the suppressants? Oh, wait, never mind." Lena's security detail was not made up of idiots, despite this instance, and they probably gossiped like school children. Heaven knew DEO agents used to talk like it was everybody's business.

"Yeah. I can't…" Devin blew out a breath and pushed her short, dark brown hair back. "Look, I'm crabby because you're clearly good and I like my job. To think one day, Miss Luthor could just come to me and say you're my replacement…"

Alex scuffed. "That could've happened before this and notice that no one was fired here. I was added because she recognized my skills as she recognized yours. But, you can do one thing I can't and you know that."

Devin nodded. "Give this my complete attention." She slapped her forehead, as if this just occurred to her.

"As you've always done." Alex could easily divide her attention. She was a good multitasker from her school days, but she did not want to do that here. Lena deserved someone who could and would give her their all. "And you've known I can't do that since I started helping out. Plus, Lena's been fully aware of what I can do in a fight, way more than what I can do in a lab, and still hired me to be in a lab. She sees you and your effort, Devin." This was definitely the truth.

Devin laughed, rubbing the back of her neck. "She sees you, too. What the hell was that about?"

Alex shrugged. "Hell if I know. We all know she's with my sister and I've only just grown on her. Lots of things could factor into what just happened, especially medical things."

Devin arched an eyebrow. "You think she's sick?"

"It doesn't have to mean sickness. It could be a condition. It could be a symptom. Hell, it could just be a shock reaction or even a bodily misfire."

Devin nodded. "I'll take your word on it. From what I've learned, you know better about these medical things. So, anyway, sorry for being a petty asshole." She held out her hand.

Alex studied her a moment and then got up. She shook Devin's hand. "Apology accepted."

"And I guess officially welcome to the team? I mean, since she appointed you, you should be getting paid for your work this time around, right?"

Alex shrugged. "She actually didn't say. I assumed she'd hammer out those details with you."

Devin rubbed her chin. "Not like her to be so loose with things. Maybe she is sick. Usually, she would let me hammer things out if I was hiring you, but she brought you. Anyway, once it's official and you've signed a contract, you have to come to our weekly security meetings at the least."

Alex had done a few of those back when she helped with security. "Those were always fun."

"Look, for what it's worth, I enjoyed working with you and I lost sight of that. It's nice to have someone around just as competent as I am and I can bounce ideas off. It made me better at my job."

"Glad you feel that way."

A small smile settled on Devin's pretty stern face. "Glad Vas reminded me. I swear I thought she was going to punch me by the time she finished. I guess since all her points were good, she decided against it."

Alex chuckled. "Lucky you. She might not look it or act it, but she's dangerous." She had trained with Vasquez in her early DEO days. Vasquez might prefer logistics, but that did not mean she could not take out a room on her own.

"I believe it."

Devin offered her hand again and they shook on it. And just like that, things seemed to be all right again. But only time would tell. Not that Alex cared at the moment. The real pressing matter was Lena. Was Lena all right after pheromone blasting the entire gym? How embarrassing. I hope Kara's with her.

-8-8-8-8-

Kara wanted to fly to L-Corp the moment she could get away from people at CatCo. And, by fly, she meant break the sound barrier. Lena texted her and then Alex texted her. There was a crisis, but she was not sure what it was because they had not provided details. Lena just requested that she be seen showing up, like a "regular person." So, Kara had taken the bus, as much as she hated it. She came through the big, glass front doors of L-Corp and signed in at the desk and was escorted up to Lena's office. All the while ignoring looks headed her way. Something weird was up.

Even Jessica, Lena's assistant, looked a little worried when Kara stood before her. "She's… a little on edge."

Kara fiddled with her glasses. "What happened?" It had been such a nice morning not even two hours ago.

Jessica glanced at Lena's office door. "I'm sure she's waiting to tell you."

Kara nodded and stepped into the office. She was almost knocked over by the scent. Lena was pumping out pheromones and nervous energy. Before she could even fully comprehend that, Lena was in her arms.

"Oh, thank goodness! Now, maybe I can calm down!" Lena held on to Kara for dear life. It sounded like she was sobbing.

Kara returned the embrace and held Lena firm. "What happened?"

Lena trembled in her grip, pheromones still pouring off of her. "It was horrifying!"

"Alex texted me, but she didn't say what happened."

Lena huffed and glared at Kara. "This is all her fault! I released essentially a pheromone bomb in the gym because of her!"

Well, apparently there was a story there, Kara lifted Lena up and carried her to the sofa. She sat down and Lena curled into her. She made sure to keep Lena firmly against her. Lena's breathing evened out and the pheromones finally dissipated.

"Would you like to tell me what happened?" Kara asked in a soft tone.

Lena's face turned bright red. "Your damn bond-mate and her sexiness!"

Kara held in a laugh because this was serious. Lena was in real distress. "What did your sexy girlfriend do?"

"So, I get a call that security is doing some kind of unauthorized activity in the gym. I thought Devin was giving Alex a hard time over the bodyguard position. I was going down there to break it up and give Devin a piece of my mind, but the second I step in there, my mind goes blank because your damn bond-mate is laying out my entire bodyguard detail single-handedly."

A small smile settled on Kara's face and she sat up just a little straighter. "Well, she's Alex." Kara could not help but be proud.

"Exactly and I see this and my body just reacts…"

Kara gasped. "Oh, no. In front of the entire gym?" She could hardly imagine, but it explained why she had been so frantic when Kara showed up.

Lena whimpered and buried her face in Kara's chest. This would have been adorable if Lena's stress was not real. Kara kissed her forehead and held her just a little tighter. There was a hint of pheromones, but Kara knew that scent very well. It let her know Lena was comfortable.

"I blasted like an omega in heat in the packed gym. My scent concealer was no match for it. I've never been so humiliated." Lena shook her head into Kara's chest.

"Well, I'm sure your girlfriend is flattered to know you're physically attracted to her. But, you want to do damage control, I know. Anything in mind?"

Lena let out a very long breath. "Nothing comes to mind beyond us all being seen together and someone who gossips overhears me apologizing to Alex. I need an excuse for why it happened and hopefully she has a medical excuse for it. I'm not sure how to make sure the staff doesn't view me as a weak, horny omega, though."

Kara snorted. "Just keep being yourself. You're far from weak. And if people think you are, you'll use it to your advantage."

Lena now took a deep breath. "True."

"Do you want to keep talking about this?" Kara asked because there were other issues.

Lena rolled her eyes. "You're just going to suggest I have sex with Alex to avoid this in the future."

Kara laughed. "Well, yes, you should definitely do that, but also, do you think you're more on edge because your heat is close and you want Alex there?"

Lena frowned. "My heat isn't that close and I don't want our first time as a couple to be during my heat."

"It doesn't have to be, but you do want her there for your heat?"

Lena groaned. "You're enough."

"As are you, but that's not my question. Do you want her there? This is something just between us. You don't have anything to prove. Do you want her there for your heat?"

A small moan escaped Lena, as if she was picturing it. "Yes." A whimper followed.

"Then talk to her about it. I'm not offended. I want her there, too. I want you both happy and sated and loved." In fact, she looked forward to it.

Lena sighed. "This is a lot."

"We go one step at a time. First, all three of us at lunch today, then you enjoy your date with Alex. Talk to her. Maybe even get lucky. We'll all sit down about your heat in a few days to see how Alex feels about joining in."

Lena nodded. "When you say it like that, it seems so simple."

"You're just overwhelmed because you're embarrassed. Take some time to really calm yourself."

Lena nodded and they just sat there quietly with Lena tucked against her chest. She listened to Lena's heartbeat to stay settled and busy herself. After almost a half-hour, Lena was settled enough to move, so they could both get back to work. They parted ways with a brief kiss. Before heading back to CatCo, Kara went downstairs. Alex might need a shoulder as well.

"Kara," Alex said from her desk as Kara stepped into her tiny lab.

"I just finished with Lena. Thanks for texting me," Kara replied as she closed the door behind her.

"Of course. Is she all right?"

Kara nodded. "Fine. Embarrassed. She wants us all to have lunch later to help the optics of what happened."

Alex nodded. "Of course. Anything to help."

"Maybe come up with some medical excuse for why that thing happened."

"Tons of those already."

Kara held up a finger. "But, don't take it as an insult. It definitely happened because she's attracted to you." Knowing Alex, as she came up with her medical excuses, she probably started to believe one of those was the reason for Lena pheromone bombing in the gym. Alex was always second best in her mind and she had to unlearn that. She was the best.

Alex waved that off. "That's not important."

Kara's brow wrinkled. "Of course it's important. Are you okay? I mean, was it embarrassing for you?" Kara dropped her arms around Alex, holding her close. Alex might act all calm, cool, and collected, but she needed a hug as much as Lena did.

Alex shrugged and then put her hands on Kara's forearms. "I'll live." She had been dealing with awkward and embarrassing moments for more than half her life now, but that did not mean she wanted to keep having to work through them. She should not have to do that.

Kara nodded. "Okay, but how did it make you feel? Were you happy to know you could do that?" She rested her cheek in Alex's hair. She smelled like a hint of cinnamon.

"Of course I am, but I also know other things could have factored in. It doesn't have to mean…" Alex blushed.

"That the sight of you turned Lena on? Because it did. We both like watching you work when it's just you showcasing your skill and not being in real danger."

"Yeah?"

"Yeah. You're hot, Alex." She smirked as Alex's heart rate increased. "Guess I should tell you that more often because you really are. You're hot and impressive."

Alex groaned. "Kara."

Kara smiled. "Sorry. It's just true and I should say it more often. I never want my bond-mate to think I don't find her attractive, especially when she's doing amazing things. Anyway, I have to get back to work. See you during lunch."

Alex nodded and Kara kissed her before hustling back to CatCo. What a day and it had barely even begun. Hopefully, they could put out this fire before it began.

-8-8-8-8-

Next time: Lunch date and dinner date.
