It was a chilly morning. Not that she minded. The cold was nice as it wiped through the trees. Luna Lovegood smiled dreamily to herself as she walked through the woods. The sun was just rising, and she could not help but smile at it. Her bare feet felt nice and warm on the fallen leaves and dirt.
"What a lovely morning," Luna said to herself as she watched a bird fly above her head. She closed her eyes with a bright smile on her face. The sound of sweet birds meat her ears. She started to whistle along.
Luna didn't know how long she had been in the woods, but she didn't care. She loved the woods and everything that had happened after the defeat of Voldemort, she felt that she needed to be in the woods more. She was still whistling as she started to skip through the trees and the fallen branches.
"I need to find him," she told herself. She and her father were helping Professor Remus Lupin and his son. Luna could not believe that Tonks was dead.
Luna sighed, but she knew that she was in a better place than before, with her mother. She stopped walking when she saw Lupin lying in the dirt reading something. She laughed a little.
"Remus?" she said walking closer to him. Her voice is gentle and calm. Luna wasn't worried, she knew Remus. Remus looked up to her and smiled weakly.
"Hello, Luna," he said waving and putting his book down. He looked tired. His green-amber eyes shined in the early morning sun.
There was a sadness in his eyes but there was also happiness as well. Luna knew that look; she saw it in her father's eyes.
"How are you this morning?" Remus asked, pulling her out of her dreamy thoughts.
"I'm doing good. Teddy is waiting for you back at home," she said holding out her hand. Remus smiled gently but he didn't say anything. He stood up slowly and used Luna's hand for support. "Let's get back," she said with a small smile.
The walk was long and quiet. Luna didn't mind though. She loved the quiet. She took this time to watch Remus. He was quiet as he limped the long way back. "How is Teddy?" Remus asked, cutting through the calm silence. Luna smiled.
"He's good. But he's not a werewolf," she said smiling a little. Birds chipped around them. The fresh smell of dirt and flowers filled the air.
"I don't think you're a monster either. Everyone has that side," Luna added after a while.
"You're gentle. I've seen it and when you need to be angry, I understand. Harry is like that as well," Luna said making Remus smile at her. They fell quiet again and Luna was lost in the calmness around them.
When they reached the house, Luna helped Remus through the backdoor. She smiled at Teddy who was eating at his high char. Her father was feeding him. Teddy giggled, making both Luna and Remus smile.
"Hello, Luna. Have a nice walk?" her father asked as Remus walked up the stairs to his room.
"I did," she said walking over to the table of the small cabin that Remus was staying at.
"Hello, Teddy," she said taking the baby's hand into her own. "Remus went to bed," she added. her father nodded and looked at the clock on the wall.
"We should leave soon. Mr. Black should be back in a minute," he said standing up. Luna nodded and stood up as well.
"Good-bye Teddy," she said picking up the baby. Teddy giggled in her arms as she walked to the door when Sirius walked in.
"Hello," she said smiling at Teddy in Luna's arms. "Thank you," he said taking Teddy into his arms.
"You're welcome. We should do this again. Goodbye," she said walking out of the door with her father behind her, she would love to do this again and Luna knows that she might with her own someday.
