Disclaimer: I do not own Black Mirror or Doctor Who.

The Incarnation of the Master in this story is the War Master played by Derek Jacobi, having heard him in the Big Finish audio series 'The War Master' he is easily the most intimidating Master I have ever known.

Black Mirror is in a separate universe to the one in which the story is set to keep things straight.

This Chapter is the first of a two-parter with the next chapter, the Master is here to prepare for a scheme. And to have some fun while teaching his new companion.

This contains x-overs with a number of episodes; Entire History of You, White Bear, San Junipero, Just Shut Up and Dance, Men against Fire and Most Hated in the Nation. Episodes that I thought might have things that interest the Master.

Hope you enjoy it.

The Master Chronicles 2 - Possibilities

The Master's Tardis, the Time Vortex…

The Master was in his Tardis, looking perfectly at home in his tweet suit while he moved around the controls, carefully adjusting dials and switches as he made careful movements through the vortex.

"Have we arrived yet?" A female voice said from the side, Jaime walking in with her new outfit. She had decided to go for not only practical but a bit sexy with black jeans and a short leather jacket but the tank top she wore underneath it was purple and showed a little cleavage. Her feet had black boots with a slightly raised heel while leaving her hair loose around her shoulders.

"Nearly my dear, it's a bit tricky getting into these parallel timelines created by the war. Before the war moving between different timelines was easier but with all the scar tissue it's a lot harder now unless you want to wreck your Tardis." He told her distractedly as he made his corrections. Jaime just sighed quietly and sat down on the steps, swinging her legs back and forth as she waited. After what seemed like forever the ship finally landed.

"At last, now then. Shall we see just what is out there my dear?" The Master asked with a cold smile and she said with a grin of her own.

"Master we shall." She said and together they exited the Tardis. Outside was London, St Paul's Cathedral, the Eye, Tower and Nelson's Column all visible in the skyline depending.

Jaime made a face as she saw that it looked no different to her own time even if it was London. She turned to and asked.

"If we can't find anything useful, can we have some fun here before we go?" She asked and the Master merely shook his head, remembering the impatience of youth.

"Hopefully my dear we shall do both. Now let's see just what we can find shall we?" He asked and walked off into the city with an umbrella on his arm in preparation for the inevitable rain. Jaime followed, a scowl on her pretty face. The Master decided to indulge her and seeing a student a laptop computer in a special bag asked her.

"Jaime, would be you be a dear and get that laptop for me? While I do my research we might as well find a comfortable spot." He told her and Jaime nodded with a smile on her face at getting a chance to have some fun.

The Master watched with amusement as she approached the male student who was so smitten with Jaime that he didn't even hesitate to follow her into a side alley for what the Master only presumed was the promise of sex. He wondered how many men were so gullible to a pretty smile and a reasonable figure.

A short while later Jaime emerged with the laptop bag over her shoulder and even the boy's wallet, smirking with satisfaction before they both went on their way not caring a jot about the traces of blood on Jaime's hands.

A short while later the pair were sitting in a lovely restaurant, sipping on some rather lovely tea after a good lunch while the Master's fingers moved over the laptop's keyboard. He was looking at the screen intensely before finally sitting back as Jaime poured him another cup.

"Is this world useful to you in any way?" Jaime asked as she helped herself to another scone with jam, she had never had them before and these were delicious.

"There are a few different bits and pieces here that will be quite useful in another scheme I have been considering for some time. This reality truly does have its darker parts, I honestly am delighted to see humanity embracing its true nature." The Master told her with a smile as he sipped his tea, Jaime smiled a little before saying with mock honour.

"We aim to please. So, should we order another round or be on our way? The looks the Maître d has been giving me are for wearing this jacket and jeans here are starting to get on my nerves. Any more and I will be forced to do something about it." She told him with irritation as the posh overstuffed waiter glared at her. The Master was amused by her irritation and sighed as he would have liked another cup of tea but perhaps it was best to be getting on, he thought with disappointment.

"Let us be off. There are a number of little stops to make before returning to our own universe and I hope to gain some enjoyment from each of them." He told her and with a smile they both got up and left the laptop behind as they went to leave. The waiter who had been annoying Jaime the whole time went to talk to them about their bill but Jaime without a second thought, grabbed the man by the lapels and threw him straight through the glass window. It wouldn't have been too much of an issue if they hadn't been on the third floor. The man's brief scream before he splattered all over the pavement below was a satisfying sound but all too short for their liking. Jaime followed the Master, smirking in satisfaction and eager for some more fun. The Master just shook his head and wondered if he had been as reckless in his own youth.

A London Suburb…

The Master watched as Jaime kicked the door down on one of the more elaborate houses, following her inside he noticed with disdain that the interior was far too modern for his tastes. It had no real class or character he thought with disgust but was blissfully unaware of the shouts ahead as Jaime had her fun.

He walked into a living room where Jaime had two people on the floor and was already in the process of tying them up. The man and woman struggled but Jaime was far stronger than both of them together.

"Look just take what you want." The man said urgently, fear in his voice.

"Please don't hurt us!" The blonde woman on the floor said and for some reason the Master couldn't explain when he looked at her, he was gripped by an intense hatred. He shrugged it off wondering if he might have seen the woman before somewhere in their own universe or someone that looked just like her.

"Well, perhaps you could tell me your names? I would like to know that at least." The Master said, wondering if the mystery of why he hated the woman so much might be solved.

"I'm Liam, this is my wife Ffion." The man said desperately and the Master frowned as Jaime looked up at him, confused as to why he would care but he just shook his head. Perhaps this was a mystery for another time.

"Well as to the reason for my visit. I can do the first thing but the second...that I think is impossible. Jaime…hold them down." The Master said with a smile as the two humans started yelling at the top of their voices for him to stop while walking forward with a laser scalpel and Jaime grinning knowing what he was about to do.

Starting with Liam he carefully cut behind the man's ear, the cries of pain and the begging of Ffion for them to stop was music to their ears before he carefully with a set of pliers pulled the tiny little grain out.

The Master held the tiny little thing up to the light and smirked as Liam lay there, moaning with pain. Jaime offered him the small container he had brought with him to put it in before turning to Ffion who just lay there with horror on her face as she realised what they'd done before the Master told her.

"Not to worry my dear, this won't kill you but I think perhaps you two will wish it had." He thought before turning to Jaime who gleefully held the screaming Ffion's head in place before the Master made the same careful incision behind her ear and pulled out her grain just like he had her husband's.

Carefully placing the second grain into the container and snapping it shut before leaving the married couple bound and helpless on the floor of their own living room.

"So, is that really going to help?" Jaime asked him as she walked side by side back to the Tardis without any sympathy for what they had just done to the married couple back there. The Master could well understand her thoughts and told her as they climbed aboard.

"Oh, indeed my dear. Once I have made a few changes these will be most useful but I think you and I might like to take in a show next, hmm?" He said with a smirk and she tilted her head before grinning knowing she was going to like it if he did.

Liam and Ffion would not be found till a day later when a neighbour finally noticed their door had been kicked open. The two were rushed to hospital where it was discovered that their grains which held a good part of their memories had been cut out. Neither could remember a thing about the attack or even each other, their memories of their lives damaged and nearly impossible to retrieve. The only good thing was that they wouldn't lose their sight.

They no longer could remember each other and when told they had a daughter...neither could even remember her name.

White Bear Justice Park...

"Okay everyone, we're about to head into the park so I will hand you over to Baxter." A young woman who was a member of staff told them as the Master and Jaime sat in the little hall waiting to be briefed before they enjoyed the show. The group did a little theatrical bow which honestly was a bit silly but they nevertheless carried on with their briefing.

"Thank you, now there are a few basic but very important rules we need to go over before you head inside. Rule number one, no talking. Not just to her but each other as well unless it's truly essential. What we're trying to get her to believe is that you'll all mesmerised." Baxter, the apparent lead performer told them.

Everyone even the Master and Jaime laughed at that and Baxter grinned before saying.

"I know, I know but she's believed it up till now."

The Master and Jaime both looked around and saw families with children in this group and honestly it was such a sight that they were smiling at how morally corrupt humanity was that both adults and children would find this entertaining.

"Okay rule number two, keep your distance." The one called Jem said, pointing at the board that listed the rules with a stick. "I can't stress the importance of this one enough, okay? Don't forget she's a dangerous individual. Imagine that she's an escaped lion. Now yesterday she threw a projectile through a window and if she gets too close, we will step in. We all have tasers." She said pulling one from the inside of her jacket. "But then we're into story shut down and we've all wasted a day. So, it's best to keep your distance, at least three metres back. You can use your camera zoom." Jem told them.

"We can't hurt her? This looks boring." Jaime whispered quietly to the Master who only whispered back with a smile.

"My dear Jaime you have a lot to learn. There are many ways of hurting someone without physical violence as you are about to find out." He whispered to her and then turned back to the briefing. He passed her a mobile phone with a camera and she told him quietly.

"Thank you." The Master nodded with a small smile and told her.

"My pleasure."

"Last, but not least, enjoy yourselves. That's probably the most important rule of all, okay?" Baxter told them, taking control of the briefing back. "Take lots of pictures, run around the woods, but try and stay safe. We'll be keeping an eye on you, making sure you're all OK. So, get out there and let's make this show happen people." Baxter said with an encouraging smile which let to everyone including the Master and Jaime clapping before getting up and leaving the room to take their places.

- x -

A short while later, her new phone hooked into the cameras that were concealed around the place Jaime and the Master watched from an empty house near the one Skillane was in. The live feed showed her getting out of her chair and wandering around the house before finally leaving and exiting the back garden by the gate.

Jaime held up the camera although she didn't need it just to play along as they watched the unwitting woman stumble around. They left the house and watched as Baxter chased her with his fake shotgun and when she met Jem who lured her into the next stage of the show. Watching the fear on Skillane's face as she was led from one bad situation into another was very interesting to Jaime even if the Master found it subpar, still he could appreciate the morality that someone must have been lacking to create such a place as this. Turning her torture and punishment into a form of entertainment.

They followed her through the woods and watched her being menaced by Baxter with his tools only to be 'rescued' by Jem. Jaime seeing the sheer terror of the woman started to see what the Master had meant by there being other ways to hurt someone than to actually physically hurt them. They were scaring the woman half to death every day. If she lived to see thirty it would be a miracle given all the strain it must place on her body. She joined in the crowd taking pictures of everything and cheered with the crowd as Baxter got up and took a bow.

As the day wore on and things got darker, she watched Skillane's torment continue and sat in the crowd of the audience hall as they waited and watched on the screen's while Skillane and Jem tried to 'destroy the transmitter'. When finally, it came to an end and the door opened allowing her to see the cheering crowds the Master and Jaime clapped with the rest of them as the woman was tied to a chair and brought forward. The sight of Baxter shocking Skillane who had 'seen' him be shot to death right in front of her.

All the performers took a bow before Baxter took centre stage and allowed Skillane to finally know what was going on.

"Thank you." Baxter said to the audience taking a bow of his own. "So, I guess you're wondering why you're here." He said turning to Skillane, turning her chair around to face the screen that appeared behind her and saying to her like he was doing her a favour. "Well, it's time to tell you, who you are."

The Master and Jaime watched with the rest of the audience as Skillane was told what she and her fiancé Iain had done to a little girl named Jemima Sykes. Although Jaime and the Master were both already aware of Skillane's actions they were disgusted to see it all laid out before them. The Master cared for no one but himself but the man had once been a father and even he would hesitate for a moment to hurt children. Only a brief moment but a moment all the same.

Seeing her sobbing and begging on the stage was strangely rewarding as they saw her complete collapse and the guilt that she had no idea was there take over. The Master and Jaime watched as Skillane was loaded into a van to be taken back to the house where she had started to do the same thing the next day.

As they returned to the Tardis the Master asked Jaime.

"So did you learn anything?" He asked her with a probing look.

"I think so." Jaime told him as she considered what she had seen today. "Implications of violence or pain are just as effective as physical violence if not more so not to mention it creates useful fear which if you control the situation you can double. Make a person afraid and they can be made to believe and do anything."

"Good, good my dear you're learning." The Master said with a smile that looked in a strange sinister way paternal as they entered the Tardis. "Now I want you to watch carefully as I give you a practical lesson in that now."

Rose Garden, English Town…

Jaime watched fascinated as the Master used his mastery of hacking to manipulate a bunch of depraved fools with something to hide while they enjoyed fine tea and the beautiful rose garden around them while fools in London danced to his tune.

"Now Kenny, let's see just how far you'll go to keep your secret." The Master said with a cruel smirk, he had no intention of course of letting any of them keep their secrets.

"You really are the Master sir." Jaime said with awe as she watched him twist Kenny who had been caught on camera masturbating at child porn, Hector who had been caught with a prostitute and now was desperate for his wife not to find out and lose his children and a number of others with secrets to hide and drove them to break the law. Kenny went the furthest she noticed with him robbing a bank even though he urinated from fear doing it and then killing someone else that her Master had been blackmailing.

"But of course, my dear. Now, I think we should let everyone know their dark little secrets, hmm." He said before sending all the data out. "Now with that done I think we should enjoy a nice dinner at the local restaurant. It's back to work after this and so we might as well enjoy it."

The Master and Jaime smirking all the way walked off to get themselves something to eat, amused by all the damage he had caused today.

San Junipero Industries...California, USA...

The campus that houses the San Junipero mainframe was large, showing the company's wealth that they created with their enormous simulated reality. Inside was clear and crisp modern architecture that looked expensive and to the minds of many classy. However, the Master as he walked in with his good suit and Jaime at his side thought it was tacky.

"Mr Keller. We are so honoured by your visit, I am Ms Garcia, head of marketing." The Company Rep said as she rushed forward, her hair in a neat bun with a suit that cost more than a family car probably. She extended her hand but he ignored it and continued looking around. "And that your company is interested in investing in our business."

"Interested perhaps but nothing more at present till I have made a judgement. One that depends on full access to this facility and its operation." The Master said sternly while tucking out the fingers on his gloves, he turned to Jaime who was wearing a smart business suit of her own. A black tailored jacket with knee length skirt also black and black stockings teamed with a pair of heeled shoes. For a splash of colour, she had a red silk blouse on under the jacket that was just visible and her hair was dyed a slightly darker red while being tied up in a professional knot behind her head. She had put make up on but it was minimal, designed to be professional and in her hand was a tablet to complete the image.

"Ms Reimer, please make sure our hotel has us down only for a day and a night. I doubt I shall need to be here for longer and that our return flight to London is booked for the day we check out." He told Jaime who was playing the part of his PA and told him with cold detachment and calm.

"Yes sir, shall I book you into the local wine valley tour? You did say you were considering it before we left Dubai." Jaime said calmly. He gave the appearance of thinking about it for a moment before saying.

"No, I think I will give it a miss. I much prefer the south of France and Italy anyway so perhaps arrange a flight there instead of direct to London." The Master said with a wistful look in his eye before turning back to the rep who looked like she had lost several years off her life just in those few moments they had been speaking. "Well Ms Garcia, you have the rest of the day to convince me that investing in your corporation is a good use of our clients' resources." The Master said with a detached look in his eye.

Garcia was sweating having been hoping for a few days to convince 'Mr Keller' that they were a profitable operation and would only continue to grow but needs must and she quickly started speaking.

"Then I will be only too happy to show you, our facilities sir. Please follow me." Garcia told him before leading them to the executive briefing room.

- x -

While the Master pretended to listen to the rather dull and uninteresting executives and Ms Garcia present their plans for future growth and expansion of their virtual reality, he just shook his head at how stupid they were and how they had no real idea just what they had created.

It was an extremely basic version of the Matrix! A collective of minds held within a computer that contained all of their knowledge and experiences. Their collective brain power.

What he could do with that when he had made the appropriate modifications...

However, he was not going to do that here, the Master thought. He could take over the company easily but that was not what he was here for and this project like some of the others he had been gathering would be very useful in his next scheme especially when he added some Time Lord technology to the system.

At his side Jaime was typing away on her tablet, appearing to be taking notes of the meeting and she continued all the way through the meetings and the tour of the campus that was given after. However, in reality she was merely using the modified tablet to scan the entire system and retrieve the specifications to copy it when they were ready.

The Master meanwhile provided her with the perfect cover by engaging the executives and even indulged in putting certain 'ideas' in their heads to see if they would cross their own morals.

At the end of the day the Master and Jaime stood at the gate of the campus as their chauffeur driven car appeared. Sleek and comfortable it was the perfect vehicle for travelling in style. As the chauffeur opened the doors for Jaime and the Master, the Master gave them a passing comment.

"I will pass on my findings to my colleagues in London but I am impressed at your set up and see a bright future ahead of this company. Now good day." The Master said with a pleasant smile that did not reach his eyes. The executives were of course delighted and were eagerly thanking him as he got into the car and the chauffeur closed the door for him before returning to the driver's seat and driving them away.

Now away from the executives and knowing the chauffeur was hypnotised to not bother them they were finally free to talk.

"So, is everything we need on there?" The Master asked Jaime who handed the tablet over to him with a cold smirk.

"The system structure, data usage, coding...everything." She told him and he smiled now too but more of his sinister normal smile.

"This will prove far more useful than those fools could ever imagine, now did you learn anything on our little performance today?" He asked her and she nodded, her posture much better than when she had first started and with her legs crossed, she answered with confidence.

"That people will believe what they want to believe, you just give them what they expect or are desperate for. Play the character, not yourself." She told him and he tilted his head a little before saying.

"Perhaps not quite as detailed as I would have preferred but close enough. You will need those skills to carry out your next task." The Master told her, while he could easily do the next part himself, he wanted to test his servant and see if she was indeed learning. Jaime looked immediately thrilled at the idea.

American Military Base, Near Future...

Jaime, dressed in the uniform of a US Army Lieutenant (the former's owner's body was now rotting in a ditch not too far away) walked calmly into the complex, the sentry asking for her ID and clearance which she handed him having altered it before coming anywhere near the base. He looked them over and saluted which she returned before walking inside.

Her uniform and completely unruffled expression meant no one challenged her or even gave her a thought as she continued walking through the base nor asking themselves why she was here, vanishing into a sea of uniforms as she moved through the base.

Arriving in the central building she walked past the guards unchallenged. She even got a salute which she acknowledged with a nod before heading inside.

Once she reached the data control centre however, she withdrew small device from her small briefcase given to her by the Master, a lock-pick to get the door open. A slight whirring noise later and the door opened and she was able to step inside, the cool room was filled with banks of computers.

She walked over to one of the largest banks which had large notices printed on them saying 'MASS' and pulled out her tablet again. She used a small cable to attach it into the bank of computers and transmitted the data to the Master.

"Well done my dear, that is everything I needed. When I combine this with the grain that we recovered earlier this will prove most useful. Now perhaps this might be a chance for you to demonstrate your understanding of what it means to cause pain." The Master told her over the small comm bud in her ear.

Jaime did wonder for a moment what he meant by that before a cruel smirk appeared on her lips, she had seen what psychological torture could do to someone and here was a treasure trove of it. All these soldiers who had thought they were killing inhuman monsters had in fact been killing helpless civilians all this time. There were entire recorded memory reels of people pleading for their lives only to be gunned down without any mercy.

What would the soldiers do if they realised just what they had been doing all this time? Also, what would happen if they realised that their 'reward' was just a creation of the implant?

She smirked knowing just how to cause a little chaos.

She used her pad to access the system mainframe and then with a swiping of her finger, deactivated the memory filter and with another, trashing the system to permanently shut it down for good so the filter could never be restored.

She unhooked her device and put it back in her case before walking out of the room with a smirk on her face, listening around her as soldiers who the implant in the base where yelling and screaming with the memories of the massacres they had committed returned to them. The sounds of gun fire too echoed as she exited the building as some took their own lives or killed the ones who had no issue with what had happened or those that had ordered it. She could only imagine just how wide spread this would be as men discovered they were being lied to all these years and had been committing war crimes without even knowing it. The sounds of chaos echoed behind her as she, unaffected by the madness kept walking through the base. Stepping over the bodies of the dead and slipping outside while the soldiers fell into complete chaos.

The Master smiled as he greeted her back at the Tardis, he was amused at the chaos she was creating and honestly was loving all the misery and death it was causing.

"Well done my dear, honestly all this pointless death is so much fun I am glad you have been paying attention. Now there is one last stop before we return to our own universe, but this one is an unmissable show." He with amusement, Jaime smiling know that whatever he had in mind it was sure to be a good one or a bad one more precisely she thought with a smile as she entered the Tardis with him.

London, United Kingdom...

The Master and Jaime were sitting in a public park in London, the sun was out and it was a warm but not hot day. The Master was enjoying a book while they sat on their bench. The Collective Works of the Marquis de Sade was open in his hands while Jaime opened the picnic hamper that he had made her pack.

"What would you prefer Master?" She asked knowing better than to make suggestions. He hummed for a moment before telling her.

"Oh, would you prepare some of the Japanese Diamond Fruit Cake and a glass of the 1947 Chateau Cheval-Blanc? I wouldn't want to miss the show." He said with a smile of expectancy. Jaime did as she was told and brought out some of the expensive food the Master had 'acquired' for his larder. He had a taste for good food and the more expensive it was the more he liked it.

The Master enjoyed his lunch while Jaime read from the book the Master had discarded, a bleeping of the Master's electronic pocket watch however broke the silence and the Master paused for a moment he enjoyed his wine to check it. His face breaking into a smile as the moment he had waited for arrived.

"Nearly midday. Good, now Jaime you are about to witness one of the biggest single mass slaughters in the history of this world. When I learned about this, I just had to be here to witness it. After all the pointless deaths are always the most fun." He told her with a cold smirk and Jaime who was now intrigued asked him.

"What? Please tell me!" She said but the Master just kept smirking and told her with a whisper.

"Just watch."

So, Jaime did, eager to see just what he was talking about and soon a swarm of machine insects began to swarm around them.

They watched as the fake bees dove down and started going for certain people, a family of four nearby was playing on the slides nearby, the little children were yapping in their annoying way while their stupid parents were so proud of the most pathetic of achievements. The bees started swarming around them and focused in on the mother.

Then one of them crawled up her nose, she soon started screaming as the creature burrowed into her brain. The husband and the two young children scrambled trying to help her but she was thrashing around in complete agony as the mechanical bee burrowed into her brain in the most violent way possible.

Nearby a bunch of teenagers thrashed around in a similar fashion while a single friend who had apparently been spared was on her phone yelling to be heard over their screams.

A middle-aged man in a business suit that would not have been out of place in a bank too was laying there screaming while a jogger tried to help him.

A young mother was laying on the ground screaming while her baby cried in its pram.

After a few moments, it was over.

The Master seemed annoyed at it being so short but the agony the people had suffered in their pointless death was more than enough to make up for it. Jaime stared in awe and asked him with an amazed breath.

"How did you do that?"

The Master looked at her amused before chuckling and told her.

"While I would like to take credit for what just happened my dear this is all the work of your fellow humans." He said with a smirk. "A man, sick of people tormenting others on social media after the woman he was in love with was driven to attempt suicide by such people decided to use these mechanical bees as weapons against the 'trolls' I believe they are called now. He tricked them into using a hashtag to reveal their depravity by endorsing murder by public ballet and therefore revealing their own identity, once a certain point was reached it triggered a revenge where the bees would kill all those that use the hashtag. Quite clever really, using the anonymity of the internet to get people to endorse murder while unknowingly signing their own death warrant." The Master said before holding up a small canister which had five of the mechanical bees inside.

"Oh, I can find uses for these." He said looking at them with admiration for how painfully they killed while Jaime just looked at him with awe.

"How did you manage to catch them? I never even saw you move." She asked him and he just shook his head and told her.

"You were too busy watching the entertainment. A few seconds is for someone like me a lifetime. Now I think we had best return to the Tardis and more pressingly our own universe, as entertaining as this one has been there is still much to do." He told her and Jaime without objection packed up the picnic hamper and followed him back to his Tardis. As they stepped inside, he told her as he started the controls.

"Well, I hope you have learned something my dear because I think it's time that we tried our hand at a little conquest and I will have use for you my dear." The Master told her as he operated the dematerialisation circuit as Jaime beamed with excitement at the idea of conquering some place.

There we are, I hope you all enjoyed the chapter and please leave a review to let me know what you thought.

Some of you might have guessed, the hatred the Master felt when he looked at Ffion was purely down to her being played by Jodie Whittaker who as you are all probably aware played the Thirteenth Doctor.

Next Chapter - The Master visits the Twelve Colonies of Kobol and decides to conquer them.
