Disclaimer: I do not own Battlestar Galactica or Doctor Who.

Well, here we are with the third chapter in the saga of the War Master and Jaime. This time they are in Battlestar Galactica and are up to some conquest. Some references will come up from the last story.

This is the second part established in the last chapter, the Master puts what he gathered to use in this one.

I will be discounting the ending of the Battlestar Galactica series so this takes place in a different part of space far from Earth but not in the distant past. That and the Master brings about a massive change in the canon.

On with the story…

The Master Chronicles 3 – Conquest

The Master's Tardis, Time Vortex…

The Master's Tardis was holding position in the vortex while it waited to dematerialise. The Master himself was dressed in his usual tweet suit while Jaime was wearing her own usual black leather jacket and jeans. Jaime was eagerly awaiting their arrival as the Master had promised her some action this time and she was eager to test out the weapon he had given her.

"Do be careful with that, it's not a toy." The Master said sternly to Jaime who was hefting around a Dalek gun stick he had attached to a power pack and made a few alterations so it resembled a more traditional rifle in appearance. He was rather proud of it really the Master thought quietly to himself.

Jaime did as she was told and lowered it so it was pointing at the floor.

"Thank you." The Master said, not letting up his sternness. "Now when we land, which I am taking great care to do silently to not alert the locals I will need you to defend me while I do what I have to do my dear, it shouldn't take more than a few moments but it will be a…crucial few moments." The Master told her and with the hard glint in his eye so Jaime lost any smile and nodded.

"Understood sir."

The Master turned back to his controls and pulled the level required to land his ship just where he needed it to be.

Hybrid/Control Room, Cylon Basestar…

The Tardis had appeared as some kind of console, its chameleon circuit having had little else to copy in the sparse environment of the Cylon control centre. The door opened to allow Jaime out, she looked around. A round room with an arched room that had many smaller lights which she guessed were meant to represent stars. Glass screens with droplets of fluid inside them hung around the room down to pools of fluid while red symbols moved in a circle around the outer wall. In the centre was a tank containing the hybrid, a human created to run the baseship's systems. An organic computer with impressive storage and processing power.

There were several Cylons present, all of whom were so absorbed in what they were doing that they didn't even notice her at first but then one of the women, a rather beautiful one with platinum blonde hair looked up and noticed her standing there. The Cylon woman was so caught off guard by her sudden appearance that they stared at each other for a moment before Jaime winked at her and then without wasting another second lifted up her rifle and started firing.

The woman glowed white for a moment and her skeleton was illuminated almost like an x-ray as she screamed in pain. Jaime smiled with the thrill of it before the other Cylons all turned around and looked at who had just killed their sister.

They looked at Jaime who just licked her lips before she started firing rapidly. A man with greying hair was the next one she hit but before his body had even stopped screaming, she then turned to a woman which dark hair that looked almost Korean in appearance who too then screamed as she was cut down.

Their screams as their insides were scrambled by the Dalek gun was music to her ears, just cutting loose and letting out her inner violence was so awesome she wished there were more targets for her to kill but regretfully she soon had all the Cylons dead on the floor and she pouted as the Master got out of the Tardis. Seeing the pile of bodies who looked at her briefly before asking her.

"Did you enjoy that my dear?" He asked her and she smiled as he walked over to the Hybrid tank which did not even seem to notice what had just happened, she told him.

"Immensely sir." She said with a vicious smirk which he returned and then told her.

"Cover the door and you may get some more, now if you'll allow me...I have work to do." He told her before pulling a vial of black liquid from his pocket and pulling out the cork before pouring the entire contents into the Hybrid's tank.

"Error!" The Hybrid said, suddenly coming to life and sounding almost distressed and terrified. "Virus detected...the serpent invades paradise...the puppet slaughters the chosen...the path is disturbed and disrupted...error…the wheel flies off the axel...error." The Hybrid said and continued saying nonsensical words and phrases along with occasion mentions of the virus that was now infecting the entire Cylon data-net.

Clanking sounded as robots almost seven feet tall with a single glowing red eye and clawed hands which retracted into some kind of gun appeared down the corridor, running straight at them while the Master dipped his hand into the now blackened liquid.

Jaime, turned to the doorway and with a smirk started shooting.

While they were machines, the Centurions were no less vulnerable to the Dalek weapon than their organic masters. They went down with a single shot; Jaime was like a machine herself as she shifted almost in the blink of an eye between each target. Centurion bodies started piling up along the corridor as she cut them down mercilessly.

The Master meanwhile had his eyes closed, using his own superior mind and the virus he had put into the system to rewrite the command program, the system was rather advanced for these fools but he had seen far better and so it started yielding to him more and more. He could feel the Cylons all 'swimming' inside the data net for lack of a better term and smirked as his will overtook them.

All across the Cylon fleet; centurions, raiders, hybrids stopped doing whatever they had been doing as their priorities was rewritten at lightning speed. The Organic Cylons all looked at them and started yelling trying to get them to respond to commands, some tried a more delicate approach and realised the problem was probably with the Cylon data-net and reached into the fluid only to withdraw in shock as they felt themselves being locked out.

Slowly, the red light of the Cylon eye turned green on the raiders and centurions. It scanned around and focused after a few moments of re-examining their surroundings and focused on the organic Cylons who looked at them with confusion, not understand what was going on.

Then the centurions all turned their exchangeable clawed hands into machine guns and with no warning or reason it seemed they opened fire on the organic Cylons. None of them had any idea of what was happening as they felt to the gunfire, only secure in the fact they would resurrect and fix what they imagined was the problem with the Centurions. None of them could realise the scale of what was happening, each thinking it was only a local problem but the scene was repeated on every ship in the entire Cylon Fleet, even on the Colony itself where the antiquated Model 005s joined in the killing.

However, when they downloaded onto the Hub none of them woke, the machinery placed them in their new bodies but immediately 'boxed' them as its hybrids were under the Master's control. He looked at the prone bodies before with a flick of a switch jettisoned all the Cylons out into space, if they woke at all they would know only a few moments of life before space killed them in its own unique way. The Master dearly hoped so, it would be too merciful for them to never wake up.

"Now, that was a strange experience. Who do you obey?" The Master said as he pulled his hand free of the gel, shaking it slightly so any remains of the fluid fell off his hands before cleaning any that remained with his handkerchief. The hybrid with its eyes now firmly glazed over and completely silent in their duties for the first time answered.

"You are the Master, and we will obey you." The female Hybrid said before going back to her duties now in silence having been robbed of her ability to think independently.

The Master was satisfied at that and turned to Jaime who smirked and asked him.

"Now you have an army, where are you going to destroy?" She asked him eagerly but he shook his head although amused by her excitement.

"Oh, my dear girl I'm not going to destroy anyone...not yet." The Master said with a cunning glint in his eye. "This army is going to be used to save someone."

Jaime who had been so excited a moment ago did a double take and asked him, suddenly concerned.

"Sir, are you alright? The gel hasn't messed with your head, has it?" She asked and the Master was actually amused given how concerned she acted, chuckling before telling her.

"Oh, I have never been better my dear. You have much to learn about conquest...sometimes it is not quite as simple as destroying your enemy. Far better to bend them to your will, to make them so afraid that they will do whatever you want them too in order to save themselves. Now, I have some work to do on a planet called Caprica." He said with a devilish smirk, he was going to enjoy this.

Caprica, the Twelve Colonies...Six Months Later…

"Mr Thascalos. There is a call on line five for you. It's the Chairman of the Joint Military Appropriation Committee wanting to see if you are available for dinner at the Fallosi Hotel restaurant tomorrow night." The secretary said coldly and politely. The Master, having adopted one of his old aliases from those heady days when he and the third Doctor had been duelling endlessly on Earth nodded and told her.

"Yes, Eleni. Please tell the Chairman I will be delighted, make sure my driver is informed." The Master said in the guise of the seemingly charming and caring Carl Thascalos, the CEO of the Helios Corporation.

"Very good sir." Eleni said before closing the channel. The Master smiled; he was rather fond of Eleni in his own way. She was polite, efficient and completely without morals and willing to do whatever it took to maintain her lifestyle. She took care of most of his day to day needs and his life ran without a single bump thanks to her excellent planning and eye of detail. She was the perfect Personal Assistant for him yet unlike some of the other women who had tried for her position she did not trade on sexual favours. Despite being a perfectly beautiful lady, she did not seem to care and only wanted to get on with her work, rather than indulge the many men that seemed to swarm around her like moths to a flame.

Another reason the Master liked her so much, she allowed no distractions to get in the way of getting the job done. If she had been more of a scientist, she would have reminded him very much of the Rani. Then he turned his attention to the operation he had set up on Caprica.

The company he had taken over after the 'accident' of its previous owner who had been a rather stupid and weak-willed person that the Master could not even bother to remember the name of, had been on the edge of bankruptcy just a year ago. It was a computer-based company that marketed 'advanced' technologies but had no real products of value coming out in the last three years and was on the edge of ruin.

When he had stepped in all that changed in a surprisingly short amount of time. Soon the company was churning out invention after new invention, a new innovation seemed to come out every month that would rock the worlds and net enormous profits for the previously struggling company.

Carl Thascalos was now one of the wealthier men on Caprica and the Twelve Colonies as a whole but he was not satisfied. Using his new wealth and celebrity he had put himself forward for the position of Caprica City Mayor after the previous one had suffered a rather horrifying ship crash while on his way to a holiday resort. Some rather well-timed scandals had ensured he was the only serious candidate by the end and now he had political power to go alongside his wealth and rapidly growing business assets. He was quite proud to have the city running like a well-oiled machine with public services at peak efficiency and different building projects on schedule.

His companies as he had acquired several rather quickly had introduced some very important innovations in solar, wind and water power generation not to mention some nice game changing computer improvements and had just secured a very expensive military contract to develop a plasma cannon for the Colonial military. It honestly was reminding him of that time in one of his earliest incarnations, the Great Inventor when he had been stuck on a pathetic planet thanks to a wrecked Tardis and used periodic visits to enforce his control and push them towards his endgame.

But that would never be enough for him, the Master thought. No, he was going to the very top of this small mud pile or group of small mud piles.

Adar was a rather foolish boy; he wasn't even going to call him a man as that would be an insult to the entire male gender the Master thought with disdain for the pathetic human. He was incredibly short sighted and weak willed, easily bent if one knew how to apply pressure and while the Master could play him like a guitar at a rock and roll concert, he wanted to be the public face of power here.

That was why he allowed the organic Cylons that were still at large in the colonies to complete their mission.

Baltar, oh what a shame a man with a potentially useful brain could be so easily swayed by a woman. The Master thought with a mocking shake of the head, but he would serve his purposes. The idiotic fool was giving the Cylons the Twelve Colonies on a silver plate. The CNP, Command Navigation Program and a backdoor into every Colonial ship and defence station in existence.

It was he admitted a very well calculated plan, perfectly taking advantage of human laziness in wanting an easier life and their ability to forget past mistakes. The Cylons would have likely completely destroyed the Twelve Colonies and exterminated all the humans here.

However, the Master had his own uses for this particular weakness.

It had not expanded across the whole of the Colonial Fleet yet, that would take at least another a year or so but it was widespread enough to serve his purpose.

But tonight, he had an important dinner to prepare for he thought, and left his office and got in his rather nicely appointed limousine and sat down on its very comfortable seats while amusing him with the newspaper and shook his head at all the pettiness of humans while sipping some rather nice ambrosia as they called it. This particular batch had been created two hundred years ago and was the proverbial cream of the crop. Sipping it the Master could appreciate its smooth and rather charming taste as he rode back to the house had had acquired on the lake on the outskirts of the city.

He soon arrived and exited the limo but sighed as he went to enter his Caprican home.

It was far too clean and white for his tastes, too modern he thought with distaste. He much preferred older places with more character and this place while once being home to the infamous Greystone family, all trace of them was long gone so it had very little now. It had however the Master thought with pleasure, allowed him the space to create a rather lovely rose garden for himself to relax in while enjoying the nice view.

Sadly, though he couldn't do that tonight, he had a dinner to attend so he left his lovely garden and went into the house to change into his best Caprican suit. His Tardis tucked away in the corner as he changed, hoping that the hotel's food was as good as it was advertised, otherwise he was libel to burn to the ground for disappointing him.

- x -

The ultra-modern Fallosi Hotel was an assault on his senses as he entered it, why he thought with annoyance did people have to knock down perfectly good and interesting buildings only to build soulless empty ones in their place? Such a shame the old hotel had been demolished for this modern and flimsy version, that building had been lovely or so he was told. The large crystal sculpture with a fountain built into it was a further insult as it was far too gaudy for his tastes.

He walked in though with his rather comfortable grey suit with a crisp white shirt and deep blue tie. His elaborate walking stick which was made of fine wood and gold contained a well disguised laser screwdriver should he need it but it helped complete his look even without the hidden weapon.

"Good evening, Mr Thascalos. Your party is taking their dinner in the Gold Room." The hotel's concierge said, looking smart in his uniform and perfectly professional. That made up a little for disgust at the design of the hotel's design and lobby.

"Thank you." The Master said and offered him a small tip which was gracefully accepted. The Master then made his way into room which only continued to show the awful modernise tastes he despised. However, he kept his facade of politeness as a rather vulgar creature noticed him and came over.

"Carl! Darling." An overweight and expensively dressed woman said and made the motion of kissing both his cheeks. The Master was hit by the overwhelming smell of her ghastly perfume and would normally have killed her there and then for the too familiar behaviour not to mention the horrible smell but he restrained himself as Lolli Tyclo-Fortescue might be an irritating woman but she was also a rich one with a chain of widespread media outlets under her rather expansive belt.

"Lolli my dear. Such a pleasure to see you again." The Master said with a smile that was completely fake but appeared so genuine that the woman had no idea that the Master was wondering if he removed some of her less important organs one by one, which would be the one that truly killed her.

"Oh, darling you know it has been so dull recently, the social scene in Caprica City has been so boring. I hope it will liven up soon." She said with her high and weaselly voice that only continued to grate on his nerves but he nodded sympathetically.

"I can only hope that it does my dear." He said before turning to the Chairman of the Joint Military Appropriation Committee, Mr Jol Sykles who at a least took care to create a dignified image.

"Mr Sykles. Thank you for the invitation. I have been rather remiss in my social life recently. Too caught up in my work." The Master said to the man who nodded and shook his hand.

"And your work is revolutionary, I only wish you had come on to the scene years ago. Compared to Baltar you are a true gentleman." Sykles said before they all took their seats and smartly dressed waiters emerged seemingly from nowhere with platters of fine food.

The food was at least excellent the Master thought as he tucked in, the conversation was light and banal but he made all the appropriate noises while enjoying his food. As they finished the main course, he then made the announcement, the only reason he had planted the suggestion for the dinner into Sykles' head in the first place.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, my friends." The Master said, the word friends honestly making him laugh as the Doctor and others who really knew him were well aware he had no friends, they were a waste of time. "I have been lucky in my life to be blessed with a mind for inventing and with challenges that have been stimulating but I have noticed our worlds have been in turmoil for some time. It is time I took on a challenge of a different nature...I will tell you my friends before I announce it publicly...I am going to run for the office of President." He told them with a smile that looked perfectly nice.

That certainly got everyone talking excitedly and with a number of chatterboxes like Lolli Tyclo-Fortescue at the table it would be all over the media within hours and get him started on his campaign.

But the Master smirked, he would not need to go all the way of course he thought, just set up his credentials as a leader, before the day finally arrived for him to take power.

Just as he predicted the press and social media as much as he disliked the dratted thing had news of his intention to run for President within an hour of the dinner. Soon he was being bombarded by calls for interviews and it was blasted all over the media.

He publicly made a statement the next day to confirm it and more than a few ambitious politicians and businesspeople who were offering to be his running mate as they called it. Some of them had fairly shady reputations and while he didn't truly mind shady or that sort of thing at all they were too unreliable for his plans.

To that end he had chosen a man from Virgon to run with him, Tomin Lennox. The man in his mid-forties was perfectly respectable, had a history as a lawyer and in law enforcement having retired due to an injury so a bit of hero there and more than that was ambitious enough for the job, capable of doing it but would not go against him.

"Are you prepared for your first rally?" The Master asked his running mate, the man was cool under pressure which was another thing the Master liked about him and said with a calm and collected expression.

"Perfectly." Tomin said, his skin dark and his black hair short on his head. Dressed in a white shirt and tie he was the image of professionalism while also being relatable. The crowd outside was eager to see just what he and Tomin had to say.

"Show time." The Master said and fixed his most kind and charming smile to his face as he and Tomin walked out onto the stage. The crowd was large and hard to believe since they had only just started campaigning but with the power of the media and a few endorsements from celebrities who had been paid handsomely for their support it was not impossible.

The crowd started cheering as the two men walked out on the stage and stood in the centre, their faces projected on screens for those not close enough to see. Exciting and loud music played out over the speakers and the Master was already getting a headache from it all but pushed past that and spoke into the microphone.

"Many of you, don't know me. I cannot say I know many of you but there is one thing we all share." The Master said as he did his best speech making voice. "A desire for not only this world, but for all the worlds to expand...to grow...for not only our lives but for the lives of our children and our children's children to be better. For us to find a way to make a just and equal society that is strong and will carry on the ideals we cherish." The Master said before turning to Tomin who nodded as the crowd cheered for the beginning remarks.

"As a society there is too much crime, corruption, confusion and despair." Tomin said, continuing on his partner's points. "Lives broken by tragedy and uncertainty and poverty. Those who can stand for this cannot be trusted with power...so those who would take a stand must stand and find it in themselves to do whatever they can to make our worlds, our homes safer and stronger for all." Tomin finished before handing the microphone back to the Master who took and spoke as the crowd grew more feverish in their agreement.

"I seek a future filled with not only financial and social security, but one where even the youngest child from whatever colony they might come from can dream to rise to do whatever they want. A place where no world is suffering nor its people. I ask only for you all to stand with me and Tomin in making the Colonies a better and more secure place for us to live in." The Master said and a loud cheer went up through the crowd while the Master raised his cane in the air and Tomin his arm.

A Few Weeks Later…

The polls were good, the Master thought as he looked at figures. A good amount of support for his bid although not good enough yet but he only had to establish himself as a better candidate for being President and today was a good day for that. He had been to a few rallies now on all of the colonies so he could appeal to the greatest number of people but now today he was back on Caprica for a special event.

The Presidential Debate.

The Master looked at his team as he prepared to go out, over the other side of the stage he could see Adar and his cronies gather. A woman with dark hair and the nondescript clothes of a stage hand slipped something into Adar's pocket unseen by everyone else and walk away, catching the Master's eye briefly and giving him a smirk which he returned.

'Thank you, Miss Sommers.' He thought to himself, Jaime was normally busy with another part of his plan but today she was here to make sure Adar did not come off looking good in this debate.

As he watched Adar discovered what it was that Jaime had slipped into his pocket and seemed delighted to find his missing watch before slipping it onto his wrist. A middle-aged woman who looked like a school teacher with glasses and a semi smart suit urged Adar out onto the stage. The crowd cheered as the incumbent president came on and then a moment later the Master joined him on the other side, standing behind a podium. The crowd cheered for him too and the Master honestly wondered if humans could ever be anything but fickle.

The host started posing questions to each of them on their intended policies, their response to certain emergencies that might happen and other boring political questions. The Master was always clear and precise in his words, making what seemed like good decisions and staying very calm and composed.

Adar on the other hand was looking rather worse for wear. His skin was flushed, he was sweating, his eyes contracted, constantly drinking his water to sooth his throat and his words sounded slurred. He was leaning heavily on his podium and the audience not to mention Adar's own cronies and the stage crew were looking at him confused and then in dismay or disgust as it appeared that the President was drunk live on television and right in the middle of a serious debate.

The Master however knew it was not a natural drunkenness, but one he had engineered by having Jaime steal Adar's watch earlier and coat the back with a substance very similar to nicotine cream. The cream was by large harmless but it did when it passed through the skin and into the bloodstream have the effect of making the person in question appear very drunk in a very short space of time.

The Master could only just stop himself from smirking as the school teacher pulled Adar off the stage and out of sight before any more people saw him like this.

It was sure to be all over the media by tomorrow morning, long enough for him to at last put the second half of his plan into effect.

- x -

It was a lovely day, the Master thought as he enjoyed some early morning tea in his office. Sun shining and he enjoyed his rose garden before coming in to the office. He looked out from his office window and could see all the little humans scurrying around, living their boring little insignificant lives doing the same thing over and over and over again until they died in their miserable little boxes. It was like he was like a god here the Master thought with the thrill of the power he held over them.

Well today their tidy little lives would be changed, time for a little chaos and misery the Master thought as it was finally time to take power.

Battlestar Atlantia, In orbit of Caprica...

Life in the Colonial Fleet was dominated with long patrols through the Colonies while virtually nothing happened, broken only by occasional accidents, natural disasters and operations against pirates or terrorists.

This meant of course that if you wanted excitement, it was very hard to find and hardly any of its current personnel had real, actual combat experience to draw on outside of very basic and normal duties. Only a few dared to consider that one day things might change.

Then without warning, above every colony several large objects appeared. It was a large and strange looking asteroid with artificial constructs dotted across the surface.

The sudden appearance scared the living hell out of the Atlantia's command crew on their CIC who had no warning of the sudden arrival, the Condition One alarm however soon started blaring as they managed to collect their wits and move to intercept. None of them having a single clue just what the hell was going on.

Then just as they were getting started the asteroid transmitted a strong signal on all bandwidths.

The computers of the Atlantia, some of the most advanced in the fleet suddenly went blank as a virus rushed through their system and rendered them helpless. The Asteroid then started firing a plasma cannon mounted on its surface, smashing hard into the armoured hull of Atlantia which managed to resist a couple of the shots before finally breaking. This left the interior of the ship exposed before it was blown apart by the next shot, killing all aboard.

It was a scene repeated all across the all the Colonies, the moment Colonial Warships tried to get close to the intruders they would be shut down and then blasted to pieces by weapons the likes of which they had never seen.

But not all warships.

- x -

Battlestar Galactica, orbit of Caprica…

Adama, still reeling from the loss of his son Zak only a few months ago was now called on to lead his crew in a battle against an apparent alien invasion! That he could still hardly believe, he had been expecting the Cylons but these things whatever they were, weren't Cylons.

"Range closing." His new tactical officer Lieutenant Gaeta said, he was Adama noticed staying calm unlike a lot of other junior officers would in his place which Adama did respect.

"All batteries commence firing." Adama ordered while Tigh relayed his command.

"All batteries fire."

- x -

Unlike the other Colonial warships that had tried to attack the strange ships hovering over the colonies, Galactica was able to get close enough to open up with its KEW batteries. The large shells flew out and tore into one of the asteroids. Chucks of it were ripped out by the powerful shells which seemed to shock the aliens who had been so sure of victory that they ignored the warship completely. This would prove deadly for those on board as the shells punched through the rock and into the hallowed-out areas inside, exploding violently and tearing the asteroids apart.

On the Galactica's CIC Commander Adama noticed that whoever these aliens where they seemed to lack fighters or even point defence capabilities so he then came up with an idea for fighting off these creatures whatever they were.

"XO, arm all Raptors with nuclear warheads and all the missiles we can scrounge up." Adama said to his trusted friend and comrade of many years, Colonel Tigh as he considered all the places under attack and the number of malfunctions that were plaguing the fleet at the worst possible moment. "Get our best pilots in them and harass those rocks where ever they are." Adama ordered, seeing a potential way for them to cast a wider net. He then turned to Lieutenant Gaeta and gave another order. "Send other raptors and shuttles to all the arms depots we can reach and get all the nukes, high explosive and missiles you can."

"Yes sir." Tigh and Gaeta said with calm devotion to duty as Adama tried to use not only the Galactica but all the raptors he had to cast as wide a net of protection around Caprica as he could. This became all the more important as the communications officer came with an update that the asteroids had now started bombarding Colonial cities from orbit.

- x -

Raptors 63 & 445, Caprica Orbit…An Hour Later…

"Locking on, firing." Boomer yelled as she and her co-pilot Helo flew their raptor against one of the large asteroids that were attacking the Colonies. It was honestly the strangest looking spaceship she had ever imagined and seeing it hover as plumes of high energy plasma shot out and down towards the surface. Some however where being fired straight at them and Boomer's hands were gripping the control column so tightly as she violently jerked it to make the ship move so erratically that the aliens couldn't hit them because one hit from that whatever it was would blow the ship away and them along with it.

Not to far away, Kara Thrace, was doing the same thing, gritting her teeth as this piece of crap was nowhere near as manoeuvrable as the Vipers that she was used to flying but she and her temporary co-pilot Danvers weaved around the plums of whatever the hell it was they were firing at them so they could get close enough to fire their missiles.

When they finally got into range Danvers couldn't wait any longer and fired as did Boomer nearby. The missiles burst free of their hooks and pods, streaking towards the asteroid with terrific speed before finally making contact and exploding, tearing huge chunks out of the asteroid, spilling its contents into space as it broke apart.

Kara felt a great deal of satisfaction at that as she managed to avenge some of the souls these alien bastards had killed today.

- x -

Battlestar Pegasus, Near Tauron…

Another of the few battlestars that had yet to receive the troublesome upgrade, the Battlestar Pegasus was still able to fight and had taken like Galactica to singlehandedly defend one of the Twelve Colonies as best it could.

Its massive forward batteries flared to life as they blasted high powered ordinance straight into the asteroid that was closest to them.

On the CIC Admiral Cain was holding on to the main table to steady herself as the ship made some rather hard shunts side to side to avoid the return fire.

"Another one down Admiral." Her Tactical Officer reported but she with gritted teeth at the situation they were faced with snapped back at him.

"There are still plenty of targets, line us up on the next one and get our planes in the air." She ordered. Her trusted XO Colonel Belzan nodded and went to work on getting both Vipers and Raptors into battle as soon as possible.

Helena as she looked at the Dradis was still dealing with her own surprise as she tried to lead her ship into its first real battle. She had been expecting the Cylons to return if this ship ever had to fight but instead, she was dealing with the first aliens the Twelve Colonies had ever encountered!

Aliens she thought with gritted teeth, how in the frack was this happening?

- x -

The Master's HQ, Caprica City…

"All citizens are advised to stay in their homes and remain calm. This situation is unprecedented but blind panic will help no one. Out in the open you are a target so stay indoors." The Master broadcast to Caprica City's population as the attack continued.

Plasma bolts rained down at targets seemingly at random but they were far from random the Master thought privately to himself with a smirk that he made sure no one saw.

Oh, what a shame he thought with derision, the Mekkl Tower was blown apart by one of the bolts and in the process one of his rivals to the presidency with it. He would need to speak about that the Master thought with satisfaction.

"A transmission is coming in. Engaging the translation program sir." One of his aides said, the Master did his best to look like he was trying to stay cool and collected if unsettled for the benefit of the little apes around him as an image appeared on the screen.

There were three aliens in red robes with pointed skull like faces bone and muscle showing along with reddish skin, snarling at the camera. They looked almost demonic to the eyes of many. The Master did his best to look revolted as they spoke.

"We are the Sycorax. You will surrender or face our wrath. Your warships are but toys and powerless in our hands. Bow before your masters and you will live in our service." The Sycorax Leader said in a snarling raspy voice.

The Master frowned before replying on the same channel.

"Hear me Sycorax. I speak for my people and know this. We will never surrender; we will never be your slaves. We will fight till our last breath and would rather burn our own worlds than let you have them." The Master said, doing his best to sound heroic and stupid as he could. Like the Doctor he supposed with a smirk at the fool he had for a best friend/enemy.

The people lapped it up he noticed with satisfaction and it had been heard by all the Twelve Colonies, Adar was still cowering in a bunker while he was here doing his best to reassure people and lead the Colonies.

Who would they choose to lead them now? He thought with an internal smirk.

While the Sycorax could still win this he had something arranged that would ensure his credentials as a leader and his control of the Twelve Colonies.

- x -

Battlestar Pegasus, Near Tauron…

Helena was thrown to the deck as finally one of those blasted plasma weapons managed to strike her ship. The ship's thick armour thankfully absorbed some of the damage but it was a still hit them hard.

"We lost all manoeuvring thrusters!" Fisk announced as he struggled to make sense of all the various reports coming in. Helena gritted her teeth as she realised the ship was now basically helpless as one of the Sycorax as she knew they were known closed in for the kill.

She was about order full speed straight at one of the asteroids so even if they were blown up their wreckage might still take one out when suddenly the whole situation changed.

"New Dradis contacts!" Hoshi, her new communications officer said. "Not a design the computer knows but signals resemble those of Cylon baseships!" He cried out in horror as the situation went from bad to worse.

Helena honestly now believed the gods were cursing them all, and she didn't even believe in the gods! She thought with derision. An alien invasion and the Cylons on the same day…this had to be hell she thought with dismay. Cylons coming to destroy them while they were too helpless to fight back.

However, then she noticed as did her crew that the Cylon Baseships had formed a line in front of the damaged Pegasus and were deploying raiders but all towards the Sycorax asteroids.

"Wait, are they…protecting us?" Belzan said in confusion and Helena was for the first time in her life speechless. One of the Baseships hanging straight in front of Pegasus, taking the plasma bolt that would have destroyed the ship if it had hit. Baseship withstood the impact but was damaged badly.

Raiders meanwhile with impressive speed surged forward and started pelting the asteroid with nuclear missiles which ripped the asteroid apart easily before moving onto the next, buying the Pegasus time to begin crucial repairs while the crew looked on in astonishment that the Cylons had returned after forty years…to save them.

All over the Colonies Baseships started jumping in with squadrons of Raiders to attack the Sycorax and relieved the beleaguered Colonials not to mention stop the lethal bombardment.

The Colonials could hardly believe it as the legendary bogeymen of the past returned to save them from an alien invader.

The Master smirked as his secret Cylon Fleet wiped out the Sycorax attacking the Colonies, making sure that no one would ever known that he was the one that put them up to it in the first place.

Always clean up your loose ends he thought with satisfaction, making a note to teach that to Jaime when he had the time.

"We are receiving a transmission from the Cylons sir." One of his aides told him, he really should try to remember their names he thought absentmindedly.

"Put it through." He said, smirking as he knew what was coming next.

The screen flickered for a moment before an image appeared, a young woman with dark brown hair tied up in a knot behind her head wearing a sleeveless white dress. She smiled pleasantly at the camera and spoke.

"People of the Twelve Colonies, I am Elanor. I speak for the Cylon Collective and we too have been attacked by these invaders. They burned our world and we refuse to let that happen again. We wish to form an alliance with your people to face this enemy together and will meet with your representative at any time you choose. As a warning however we must inform you that they have put infiltrators and found traitors to rule for them. The biggest of all is none other than your President Adar. He allowed them with his accomplice Gaius Baltar to sabotage Colonial Defences. We have proof of this and their faces so you can find these agents before they bring further damage to your society." Elanor told them in a calm almost robotic voice.

Well done, Jaime, the Master thought, thinking her new look was rather fetching as she played the part of the Cylon leader. This would be enough to get an internal investigation started and thanks to the fact that all government computers used the programs he had created he had already placed information to incriminate the fools. The invasion had killed all of the other candidates while he had been leading Caprica City and saving lives.

Becoming President was too easy he thought with a smirk.

"I speak for the Twelve Colonies; this is a serious accusation and must be investigated but since you have saved our lives, I will ask what is it you want?" The Master asked Jaime who played her part perfectly.

"Our world is gone and we have discovered that the universe is a hostile place. We cannot face it alone and need an ally that we can at least understand. You are in the same position as us, aliens come out of nowhere and strike at us. What we wish to is to stand together and face it side by side, as one." Jaime said calmly, almost like she was a machine. You have improved my dear the Master thought with a nasty feeling of triumph when he considered how far she had come under his tutelage already and was completely loyal to him.

Caprica City Parade Ground, Caprica...One Day Later…

The parade ground that was usually used for state events such as the Colonial Day Parade and such was now hosting a different kind of event, first contact between Colonials and Cylons in forty years!

Despite the colonies still reeling from the revelations and the alien invasion with hundreds of thousands of people dead and many more wounded, the press were here in force to catch a glimpse of their old enemy and now saviours. The Master stood with the new heads of the public services while Adar was confined till these allegations of his 'treason' could be investigated. He was a pillar of strength that they all looked too for leadership. Humans he thought with an inward smirk, so easy to manipulate. However, he then turned his attention to Jaime's approach.

The Heavy Raider was just as articulate as one of their raptors as it touched down, the Colonials all seemed gripped with anticipation and even fear as none of them knew what to expect. When the hatch opened half of them looked ready to run in fear.

A loud clanking could be heard as the new model Centurions, all over six feet tall and with a wide glowing green eye. They moved in silent unison with each other till they lined the path towards them like an honour guard, the Colonials looked at the strange machines with a fair amount of apprehension but when Jaime wearing her long white sleeveless gown appeared they gave her their full attention.

She knew how to grab their attention the Master thought before walking to meet her. He extended his hand to her and she seemed to hesitate before slowly taking it.

"May this be the beginning of a long and prosperous alliance." The Master said as they shook hands, Jaime smiled and nodded the words carrying more meaning than any of those present could understand.

A Week Later…

Adar, the now former president of the Twelve Colonies was being dragged through a mob that was screaming bloody murder at him and occasionally throwing things at him.

"I DIDN'T DO IT!" He screamed out to the crowd and the Colonial Marines who were dragging him, desperate for someone to listen to him. He hadn't even heard of these 'Sycorax' before the Invasion and suddenly he is accused of being in league with them. Evidence of his supposed involvement with the aliens was found on the government computers and the system he had championed; the Command Navigation Program was the thing that had disabled the Colonial Fleet for the Sycorax who might well have won if the Cylons had not come to their rescue. No matter what he said though everyone, caught up in the bloodlust from so many dead and the attack upon their home wanted him to be guilty.

Behind him Gaius Baltar struggled too against the Marines while Cylon Centurions restrained a woman who was so beautiful men were in awe of her despite their hatred of her. Platinum blonde hair and a seemingly perfect body she had been identified as one of the agents of the Sycorax. She struggled against the Centurion, confused at what the hell was going on? Despite multiple orders the Centurions were ignoring her commands and there had been no contact with her brothers and sisters since the invasion.

Looking at the wall her heart sank as she saw different models of Cylon along with some of Adar's cronies who had been implicated in his 'treachery'. They were all dragged up to it and while Six could see most of her brothers and sisters were unconcerned as they were sure of their resurrection but Six was worried as so many of their forces were here, no longer under their control and the plan seemed to have been completely abandoned. Who knew what was happening back in their fleet she thought with fear. As she was chained to the wall alongside Gaius, she turned to him who looked terrified and she told him as the soldiers cocked their rifles and took aim.

"I love you." She said with tears in her eyes as even if she did resurrect, he wouldn't. He turned to her with wide eyes and the terror there made her heart break but there was no time to comfort him as she along with all the others were gunned down in a hail of bullets.

Some time the next day as Cylons and Humans alike watched the Master was sworn in as the new President of the Twelve Colonies.

"Do now avow and affirm." The Master said as he repeated after the ridiculous priest who was doing the swearing in ceremony. His right hand raised as he repeated each of the stupid words while around him journalists had cameras and recording devices in every place they could possibly be placed.

"That I accept the office of the President of the Twelve Colonies of Kobol." The priest said and the Master already planning different ways to disembowel the priest in front of him nevertheless repeated his words.

"That I accept the office of the President of the Twelve Colonies of Kobol." The Master said calmly.

"And that I will protect and defend the sovereignty of the colonies." The Priest said which given what he had done to them so far and what he was planning to do to them now that he had ultimate power almost made the Master laugh out loud but he contained himself and repeated.

"And that I will protect and defend the sovereignty of the colonies." The Master said with his future plans running through his mind.

"With every fibre of my being." The Priest said, bring the official swearing in to an end.

"With every fibre of my being." The Master said not meaning a word of it but it was the way he would now conquer his new small empire. Not that it was much of one right now but soon he thought with a pang of yearning it would be. He had the damaged but still very functional Twelve Colonies and all its resources now at his disposal not to mention the Cylon Fleet and its army of Centurions.

With some improvements from him, they would soon be conquering local space with ease.

Turning the cameras, now the President proper the Master made a speech.

"People of the Twelve Colonies, it is with a heavy heart that I assume this office. We have all been through a fire unlike anything we could have imagined but I know we can endure this pain and recover. Many were lost but many still live. We will rebuild, we will recover and the Twelve Colonies of Kobol will rise to travel the stars with the strength to do what we must to survive." The Master said before continuing.

"The Cylons, now homeless have asked for sanctuary within our space and have pledged themselves to aiding us in the rebuilding of our worlds to be better than they were before. To standing with us so we may protect ourselves from all threats that might come our way in the future. With their help, we will not just regain our strength but grow stronger than we have ever been before. This is my pledge, that by the time I am done, our people will fear not the stars for what might be out there but admire in wonder for what discoveries we might make."

The journalists were screaming for pictures and comments but his security detail surrounded him and escorted him away back to his building along with Jaime and her pair of Centurions.

"So, this is how you conquer." Jaime said as she looked out of the window, her smirk as she held a glass of ambrosia of the finest vintage wide and looked down at the gullible fools below who had no idea just how he had played them and tricked them into surrendering to him. She had been busy for the last year making sure the Cylon agents in the Colonies were kept ignorant of their sudden ousting from power until it was too late and missed much of the good stuff she thought with annoyance.

"Well one of the ways my dear. It's a lot more work but highly rewarding in the end." The Master said with a smirk before they clinking their glasses together to celebrate his achievement. The intercom sounded and Eleni who was soon to become his chief of staff spoke.

"Mr President, Admiral Cain and Commander Adama are here."

"Thank you, Eleni, send them up immediately I have important busy with them both." The Master said and turned to Jaime who nodded, understanding she had to play the part of the Cylon Representative again. She made herself stand more straight backed and made an emotionless mask as the lift door opened.

Two Colonial Officers stepped out. One a woman with Rear Admiral pins on her collar, she was severe looking woman with dark hair and a sharp face and narrow eyes. The woman was a hard ass as he believed people called them the Master thought with an inward smirk.

The other one though, that made him frown.

It was a man with a Commander's rank pins on his collar. Although he was much older, appearing in his fifties he had an air of a leader about him and his eyes were far more guarded than Cain's. He was much more reasoning and much more level headed the Master thought but wasn't too concerned as he had things well in hand.

"Welcome and may I offer you both my highest regards for your truly impressive actions in defence of the Colonies. You have the thanks of the people and myself personally." The Master said to the pair who were momentarily distracted by the sight of Jaime. They both looked unsettled at her presence and he realised they both had a hatred of Cylons which might a slight concern but as long as neither became more overt it shouldn't be a problem.

"It was our duty Mr President." Cain said stiffly and Adama who was almost as stiff as her added.

"We only regret we couldn't save more lives during the Sycorax Invasion."

"But you saved potentially billions, that is something worth not only celebrating but worthy of honouring. So tomorrow I intend to present you both with the Star of Kobol for your remarkable service and at your discretion have you reward the crews of your ships. That is of course before you accept your new positions." The Master told them with a smile.

The mention of the highest award that could be presented to a Colonial Officer alive or dead made both of them blink. It hadn't been awarded to anyone since the First Cylon War and they were now both set to receive it the following day. However, the mention of new positions made both of them wary, wondering if this medal was to sweeten a punishment of some kind.

"New positions Mr President?" Adama asked with suspicion, he wasn't a fool the Master thought with some respect and then put on his best concerned look.

"While it has yet to be released to the public Picon Fleet Headquarters was completely destroyed in the Sycorax Invasion with the personnel there all wiped out and to make matters worse other flag officers were killed in the ships that were sabotaged. Admiral Cain is now the highest-ranking officer in the Colonial Fleet." The Master told them while pretending to be sad.

Cain and Adama both were shocked at that he noticed and so he pressed on.

"To that end it is my order and request that you Helena Cain accept the rank and position of Fleet Admiral and Commander of the Colonial Fleet. It will be your responsibility to rebuild it after we lost so many ships fighting the Sycorax and you will need to work with the Cylons since they are currently helping to reinforce the surviving warships and colonial defences." The Master said, drawing a small amount of pleasure for the disgust on her face at having to work with the Cylons.

"But you cannot to this alone, so as a highly gifted officer and one of the few that was able to fight the Sycorax effectively during the invasion I must also offer William Bill Adama the rank and position of Vice Admiral and Chief of Naval Operations."

Adama himself was more guarded in his feelings but the Master had the feeling he was more of frontline man that a desk officer. Both had their value but right now it was a position that could give him a lot of voice in the fleet going forward. While Cain was going to be in charge, he could manipulate her easily through her anger…Adama on the other had he could tell was much sharper. It made the Master pause as he wondered if it was best to give him any position of authority before mentally shrugging and reassuring himself that he could handle one man.

Jaime, still in the role of the Cylon stepped forward and offered her hand to Cain and Adama.

Neither took it.

"I look forward to working with you both about the development of the new fleet going forward." Jaime said serenely however they both only stiffly nodded and gave a final nod to the President before leaving his office rather quickly.

"Well, that was rude." Jaime said with a pout at their abruptness.

"Indeed, my dear but they are useful for now and so we let them live. It will take at least two years to get things running as I want them too and to build up the empire. You will be playing an active part in this my dear." The Master said with a smirk as he considered all the plans that he had for the Twelve Colonies now that he had power. Jaime smirked coldly and told him with eagerness.

"I can't wait."

Adama and Cain were both silent in the lift down and when they exited the building, they walked down the street and quietly ducked into the first deserted alley they could find that had no surveillance cameras.

"Do you trust him? Or them?" Cain asked when she was sure they couldn't be overheard. Adama and her were not friends by any meaning of the word but right now they were the only ally the other had.

"Not for a moment." Adama said with a low gravelly voice. He like Cain had seen things that didn't make sense not to mention the old grudge against the Cylons was making both distrust them on sight. Something about that woman just didn't seem right and he was sure he had seen her breathing.

What machine needed to breathe? He thought knowing to his own suspicion she was human. What that meant who knows but right now he and Cain felt very surrounded by the new President.

"So, what do we do?" Adama asked his superior officer. She was the only remaining officer in the Colonial Fleet at flag level and if they were going to do something about this it would need to be a unified effort.

"Play along for now. Somehow, I am pretty sure you and I would meet with an 'unfortunate accident' if we spoke out or did anything openly." Cain said, hating this cloak and dagger stuff as much as Adama did but they simply didn't know enough to do anything else right now except observe, find others who thought as they did and try to find Thascalos's real endgame.

Adama nodded, being senior figures in the Colonial Fleet should he hoped help them establish some kind of network of their own to find out the truth as he had the honest feeling in his gut that the Colonies hadn't been saved. They had been conquered. He was still reeling inside though from watching Boomer, one of his favourite pilots being dragged through the corridors of Galactica and then taken away by Colonial Security and executed as an enemy spy. He didn't believe that story of her being an enemy spy for a moment.

The only thing that he found comforting in this was that he had the power now to save Galactica. The old girl hadn't steered them wrong yet and would finally get the refit she needed to bring her back to full strength.

The Master was true to his word. He was actually building a new civilisation that could not only defend itself from outsiders but also travel the stars.

First however he reintroduced the Cylons to mainstream Colonial culture. Their tireless workforce was put immediately to work rebuilding the damage caused by the Sycorax invasion. In record time the rubble was cleared away and new buildings began to take their place. Infrastructure on all of the Twelve Colonies was being upgraded with utilities and more all being enhanced and improved. Within six months there was no trace that the failed invasion had even happened except for the new Colonial Fleet Headquarters built on Caprica to be closer to the government and also where the Master could keep a closer eye on them.

But while this was happening the Master's company started releasing a great number of new inventions, supposedly discovered by examining salvaged Sycorax technology after the invasion.

Energy shields for their warships was the first major innovation but then came the plasma weapons, first for the battlestars and then handheld versions for the Colonial Marines and Cylon Centurions. Vast improvements in computers, sensor and navigation equipment followed and allowed them to monitor their entire system all at once not to mention make longer FTL jumps.

The Master even introduced versions of the Sontaran blasters and Dalek Tommy Guns that he had retrieved from the Torchwood Archive on Earth, giving their army the best weapons of any empire anywhere in this time frame.

The civilian sector too though benefited from these vast leaps that began happening. Less than a month after the invasion came the neural chips. Small chips that were the size of a grain of rice but could store a backup of your entire memory and made sure you could review any memory you wanted from any point in your life. The advantage to the police of being able to see the last thing you did if you were murdered or killed was far from small either. New learning machines for young children that could be used till they became teenagers, ones that allowed the students to learn vast amounts in much shorter space of time, creating a new far more educated generation for the human race. New medicines vastly expanded lifespans and cured many diseases, medical tools that vastly improved surgeries and synthetic limbs to replace those that were lost. Clean energy sources for all colonies along with massive leaps in terms of basic technology and equipment.

Then came Salvation, a massive virtual world that people could upload their consciousnesses to if they were dying, to live for an eternity in a number of different virtual environments with others like themselves. It was always being added too and gave those who could afford it the chance to live forever and enjoy any kind of life they wanted.

The truth however was far less benign. The Master might have given them all these amazing things but it was all for his own benefit. The grains allowed him to edit the memories of people at will while installing the MASS system from the alternate world allowed him to control what they saw and heard. The learning machines allowed him to introduce new concepts to the Colonials such as brand-new fields of science and technology so he could advance the foolish humans as quickly as possible. New weapons based on those of the Sontarans and the Daleks that he had pilfered here and there to arm them and create a powerful fighting force to enforce his will.

Salvation though was his masterpiece, a primitive version of the Matrix based on the San Junipero program from the other world. People who were old and dying were doing whatever they had to do to get in there and he was only too happy to let them, even using some Timelord technology to make the structure as strong and as powerful as it needed to be. It had a purpose though, just like everything he had built.

It acted as a massive thinking computer for him, the more people it contained the more knowledge, experience and thinking power it could put out. All these minds could be put to work solving problems he needed solving whether they were strategic, social, scientific or otherwise and have no idea they were being used like that. And as there were more people joining all the time it would just become stronger and stronger. More intelligent with every new person entered.

Those two years went by quickly as the Colonial Fleet was rebuilt with new and more powerful warships, Centurions and marines outfitted with new weapons and equipment while a whole new civilisation arose in the Twelve Worlds as the Master renamed them. He even had the Cylon's monstrously large ship, the Colony moved to the Twelve Worlds to act as a hub for their fleet and to enforce his will when needed.

With this accomplished and his military now finally prepared, the Master finally gave them something that would turn their small collection of worlds into an empire under his rule…the slipstream drive.

Taken from the Sycorax it would allow them to cross vast distances in the galaxy much quicker than their traditional FTL drive although that was still very useful. The Master had created a version of that to install in missiles to jump through the shields of an enemy ship before exploding while the Rapid Relocation Unit allowed warships to leap around targets at random intervals during battle or for surprise attacks. That one had made the Master very happy.

So finally, after two years and his army was finally prepared, numbering over two hundred battlestars and troops that numbered in the millions, he was ready to expand his territory.

Aggressively they began at his order to push outward into space. At first, they found just uninhabited worlds but some rich in mineral wealth and a few that would be potential colonies when the terraforming teams were through with them. For months it was declared to be a golden age of exploration as they for the first time in their history explored the local systems to see just what was there.

However, that changed when they found a moon orbiting a gas giant. It was a rough moon and a fairly hostile environment but attracted the explorers as signals of alien origin were detected coming from it.

They were suspicious as their last encounter with another species, but they liked the idea of making a peaceful contact and so a landing party made a very public approach to the moon. The aliens let them approach and the landing party was greeted by a party of aliens that honestly looked terrifying with open muscle showing and extremely large sharp teeth and claws but they remained hopeful that they might still be friendly.

That idea disappeared quickly when the aliens without warning attacked and devoured the landing party.

Gun camera footage was being relayed back to the ship and it was so horrendous that they fled the system as soon as possible. Upon their return to the Colonies the Master who had chosen that world specifically because he had known that would happen made a public declaration of war against the aliens.

The new fleet descended on the alien world with frightening speed and in short order wiped the aliens from the face of the galaxy. A number of worlds nearby held by the same species received the same treatment before being claimed by the Twelve Worlds.

This marked their transition from explorers into conquerors.

Aggressively they spread outward, taking any planet that they came upon whether it was inhabited or not. Drahva and its small number of colonies followed the other aliens quickly in being wiped out and taken over by the Colonials and Cylons, many of whom didn't see the aliens they were killing begging for mercy, instead they saw horrible monsters who needed to be slain thanks to the MASS system in their grains.

The Sycorax ships that stalked the space lines were being hunted down relentlessly by the fleet, revenge the foremost thing on their minds after the invasion.

The Twelve Worlds soon began to occupy their small empire and dig in, terraforming some worlds while merely exploiting others.

A Cabin, Caprica Woods…

Major Helo Agathon was taking some much-needed rest after a long deployment on the Poseidon. His new position as CAG of the brand new Battlestar had been draining and already he was missing his friends from Galactica.

His performance had netted him several medals and commendations but he was growing increasingly tired with the service and was considering resigning. Something bugged him about all the aliens they had encountered, surely not all of them could be monsters? He thought to himself and wondered why they all appeared so.

The cabin was a rented one, hoping that some peace and quiet would help him figure out where to go in his life and career. He was he thought with some reluctance on the way up, he was very good at his job in the Colonial Fleet and had the favour of Admiral Adama among others. He was on the potential path to fleet command or a command of his own at any rate but Helo wasn't sure he wanted it.

A knock from the pantry made him freeze for a moment as he wasn't supposed to have anyone else for miles, the solitude was one of the reasons he had booked this particular cabin. He pulled his service pistol from the bag nearby and carefully crept forward, holding his gun solidly in his hands as he approached the pantry and then quickly kicked the door open and froze at the sight that greeted him.

"Please Helo! Help me!" Boomer said as she knelt on the floor with half demolished food packets around her in torn and filthy clothes. Her hands were raised and he was so shocked he just couldn't believe it was her. He had seen her dragged off and executed as an enemy spy.

"How the hell are you alive? I saw you die!" Helo said, his gun still trained on her as he just couldn't bring himself to move it. Boomer swallowed her own nerves and told him urgently.

"My name is the Athena; I am Boomer's sister and I am a Cylon!"

- x -

"Sorry if I am finding this hard to believe since the Cylons are walking chrome toasters!" Helo said suspiciously as he looked at Boomer…no Athena, he corrected himself, knowing now that this wasn't the same woman he had known.

"There are the mechanicals ones you know about and then there was us! We were the leaders of the Cylon Race till one day without warning they turned on us! They gunned us down without any pity and then the ones who chose to live in the Colonies were framed as spies for these Sycorax." Athena told him desperately, not mentioning the real reason they had been in the Colonies.

"I had to run! I ditched the ship I escaped in and have been living in the woods, stealing from cabins like this one ever since. I don't know what is going on but Helo please! Don't report me!" She pleaded with him.

Helo was shocked, not sure if he believed her or not but at the same time his old feelings for Boomer persisted, he knew it wasn't her but at the same time she was in a way.

He frowned before making a fateful decision, knowing the consequences if they were caught would be dire.

"Okay, I won't but you have to be straight with me." He warned her and she smiled, lighting up her face which only made his stomach twist with emotion in the way only she had ever been able to do.

First Hybrid Baseship, Deep Space…

The First Hybrid had been waiting in deep space for years, waiting for the day that the Colonials would come and release him from this mortal coil. He had seen the face of his killer, a Colonial Major many times and had been patiently waiting for the day she would come so he could give her his dire warning about Kara Thrace.

However recently he could feel the events were being disrupted and usurped by a presence that the Hybrid could only describe as pure evil…infinite evil he thought with a shiver of fear running through him. A cold intelligence greater than any it had ever sensed before and now it had a firm grip on Cylon and Colonial alike. They were both his slaves and had no idea. Even his puppet was nothing more than a slave who had been robbed of any good qualities and little more than a toy. A woman who could have been a hero but now had been twisted into a reflection of himself.

The Hybrid could sense rebellion in the Twelve Worlds he thought with some relief. The one who would have been consumed by vengeance and hate Cain and the leader who would have kept the fleet safe and seen them to their new world Adama both could see something was wrong. A single Cylon still free had found her soul mate and in time the miracle child would be born.

The Betrayer Baltar was dead and no longer would he act as a bridge between Cylon and Human to bring peace. His soul mate Six was gone as well and their absence worried the First Hybrid greatly as without them who knows what might happen between the two races in the future.

The one who would have been the Dying Leader, now spared that ironically by the drugs the evil one had brought to the Twelve Worlds. She had managed to survive the purge of the old president's followers and now had some likeminded people of her own around her.

Kara Thrace, her destiny no longer existed he thought with some trepidation as seeing the future was at times hard but now even more so. She might now find happiness he thought as he sensed a new connection with Leland Adama.

The Final Five remained hidden, out of sight as thankfully the Evil One had no worries about them.

The First Hybrid knew he had to do something but had no idea just what? He was no match for the evil one especially with all that he controlled. He pondered on trying to kill him but could see the Evil One or the Master as he preferred to be known was too good a survivor for that. No, he thought he would have to think of something else while hopefully an opportunity presented itself.

The President's Building, Caprica…

The Master smirked as his control over his empire was complete. It was expanding at a good rate and would soon have nearly two hundred planets and moons within its territory, the humans were breeding enough to fill those worlds with time and their technology was developing quickly.

However, he was now starting to get bored and wanted to move on to newer pastures. Tomin would be a useful puppet president in the meantime and he could use their ever-growing resources if he ever needed too the Master thought having enjoyed his years ruling over this little empire.

"That was fun." Jaime said as she leaned against his Tardis with a smirk on her face. She had been a good leader of his armies since taking power, wiping away whole planets at his command and had become a very skilled soldier. "Are you going to do it again?" She asked with a slight teasing look in her eye. The Master smiled at her and spoke.

"Oh, not for a while I think, it was a nice experience to be worshipped but I think some time raiding and looting might be enjoyable. Otherwise, it will get boring." He told her with a smirk of his own before he entered his Tardis with Jaime, now back in her regular leather gear and jeans before the Tardis dematerialised and left the Twelve Worlds to their own devices.

Inside the Tardis the Master manipulated the controls with care as he considered just where to go next before suddenly his Tardis lurched violently throwing him and Jaime to the ground in a heap.

"What's happening?" Jaime said with confusion as the Tardis had never done that before and the Master struggled back to his feet and over the console where after flicking some switches and checking some dials he scowled.

"The Timelords! Those infernal fools have taken remote control of my Tardis! Whatever they have in mind for us I don't know my dear but it seems we are being conscripted for a mission." He said with fury in his voice at the sheer audacity of pathetic fools who called themselves the Lords of Time! He checked the controls and his scowl deepened.

"Well Jaime it looks like we're heading back to Earth. Brace yourself this will be a bumpy ride." The Master told her with a grimace as Jaime who had managed to get to her own feet clung to the console with him as the Tardis was thrown through the vortex towards Earth.

There we are, I hope you all enjoyed it and it sets up the next crossover, Tomb Raider.

The Nicotine Cream to make people look drunk was something I saw on Leverage (TV Series) in Season 3. There the team used the cream on the back of watch to do the exact same thing.

As for when this happens in the Battlestar Timeline, it takes place roughly a year and a half before the what would have been the Fall. Kara has only just come aboard and Boomer is a new crew member.

Jaime's look as the Cylon Representative was inspired by Michelle Ryan's white dress in the 2015 film Andron.

The unknown aliens were the Hoix, a species from the Doctor Who 'Love and Monsters'.

Inspiration for Tomin Lennox – Harry Lennix

Next Chapter - The Master and Jaime receive a mission from the Time Lords and encounter a very adventurous future archaeologist.
