Geus slowed down his breath, it was hidden under his mask but the practice was still necessary. The door slowly creaked opened to a silent room. Yet the absolute power inside roared louder than any bomb could. A long center table housed an assortment of heros and teachers.
Geus's grandfather sat the closest to the door, while the rest sat a clean seat away. Ranked heros, Aizawa, the principle, other teachers as well carried that same look.
This wasn't just another student teacher conference. The time has came, the look of determination, the fire that burned their eyes. Something big indeed has entered the horizon.
"Sit down, boy." He warned.
He kept his cool and didn't show the panic his soul produced. All he wanted to do was shake and stumble uncontrollably. His motion to the chair was stiff and solid.
"There's nothing to be concerned about." The principal tried to reassure. "No one's in trouble and there's nothing threatening you in the room."
Geus still couldn't speak, he simply nodded and pulled his chair in.
"We're all gathered here because one of the towns famous for crafting Pro hero costumes is under watch." Aizawa spoke. "Seems the information Gaz here spoke of has a few threads of truth."
"For all I know my sources just speak of new management." Gaz shrugged. "I have my reservations on this but I also know these people more than anyone else." Gaz pressed his fingers on the table. His eyes locked in with a man in a bomber jacket and big red wings. "I'm guessing our information reads the same, the League is involved aren't they?"
"Explain to me why this man is even here? Shows up soon enough to train this kid then for the biggest leak to come out is on the council?" Another hero argued.
"He's a man I trust with the school and with this information." All Might stepped in. "He won't reveal everything but he'll lead us in the right direction."
"Well with that!" The hero with the wings stood up from his chair. "You have a man on the inside so my status as Number 2 doesn't mean much here." He reached in his jacket and dropped a book. "I got another meeting to rush into with anyways."
Even though multiple others the guy left the room without a word. But that happy no bothersome look vanished when he passed the last hero. His eyes for some reason locked into Geus's, how to interpret it was unknown.
"If the Hawks is out of this discussion then so should the kid, he has less of a reason as the old man should." The bunny girl looked angry as she spoke. "This goes way beyond any lesson the school is trying to pass off."
"The boy stays. You want easy infiltration and map knowledge of the town then you need me. And that includes the boy."
He didn't break contact with one of the top ranked heros. It was one of the few times his gas showed itself past his nostrils. The girl broke out in a laughed and turned back to the team.
"Alright old man, I'll give you this one. I can always take you down before you even try."
"Now that we got the side conversations over." The principal looked a little ticked behind the cute demeanor he has. "Let's consult Mr. Sansei on this issue on how to proceed. For he's the only one that knows the insides of the town."
"Alright, first things first nobody moves on the town except me and Geus." He looked around for any objections but didn't hear anything. "Two things a change in leadership means, either I got exiled and it's their way of alerting me. Or two the League is really there. And until we really know, any strange movement will shut the town in defense."
"So when do you plan on going in to confirm the findings? An out of the blue approach is just as worse as one of us heading in." One of the crew asked.
"That parts the easiest. They already knew of my approach here, the head of the company personally agreed to me being here." His eyes gazed over to Geus. "After the Yakuza incident, this boy was over the news more than I anticipated."
"Slows time down before the initial launch of the assault but also gives us plenty of time to gather the heros needed." Another thst looked like a giant centipede noted down.
"And I told them I'd bring Geus back at any costs."
"Well I can certainly tell you I don't take the idea of taking a student into a war zone lightly." The principal'e eye twitched.
"Wouldn't the student also raise alarm bells and keep the League hidden even deeper?" Another asked.
"The reason I moved so far up and act as a primary defense wasn't just because of my quirk. My wife didn't marry me and have any of my children without thinking one day they'd join us."
Geus huffed and leaned back in his seat. "My family wasn't conceived through love and affection. We were meant to aid in something like this. Something you wanted, wasn't it Grandfather?"
"Yeah. Originally your father and eventually you were supposed to join me and work under this branch for the right moment. But when your father met your mother, he soon despised everything we were for. Rather exterminate all quirks rather than change the system."
"And what made you realize this change? Not something you just give up over night." The bunny asked. Her voice as sparky as before.
"When I realized my boy was no longer a concern of safety. I left. In America we do things a wee bit different than across the sea. We don't fuck with our families."
Geus brushed the side of the mask. "My parents death, was no accident was it?"
"They gave me a serum to enhance Geus's quirk. Experimental yes but, no where was it supposed to spring out of control. This act is less of the school and more of revenge of killing my son." He took a large inhale in and slowly out. "Right after Christmas the boy comes with me. We get right in the office and as soon as we confirm we'll signal out. But the final blow to the boss man belongs to me." His words spoke fast before he stood up and grabbed Geus to follow.
He slammed the door shut behind him and continued to pull. Geus resisted and broke out of the man's grip. "What the hell was that! Why was I even there to begin with?" Geus shouted but his grandfather never turned to him. "Was this your strongman way of telling me how messed up our family is? Your pathetic way of saying sorry to me?"
"My ignorance of thinking I could let my family leave with what they knew holds onto me since that day." His fist slammed clean through a locker. "I thought activating your quirk and bringing you on our side was the only was to get redemption on what I failed. But in the end they still got what they wanted, my family's death, and the death of that Chisaki brat."
"You thought I would've rejected the thought to travel with you if you told me alone didn't you." Geus shoulder checked the man and walked past him. "Fuck you for using my insecurities against me." Geus turned to him even though he refused the gesture. "I'm still going to go. Not for you or the heroes in there, to kill the man that did this to me."
The time to focus before this mission was a blessing and a curse. Gave him plenty of time toa focus down on his school work and perfect what he learned. While the days in silence felt long, each day passed faster than ever. Before anyone could let the moment sit, Christmas arrive and left.
The festive cheer from everyone in 1-A with cookies, decorations, and costumes. All for it to be dampened by the information that Geus knew. In only a few days he led the incursion in the town and shoved everyone in danger. But he had to hide it, give everyone something to celebrate.
"Geus! Come on don't be such a Debby downer man!" Kirishima yelled out, decked out in a full Santa costume.
Geus looked up from the ground and accepted his arm. "Just a little different for me this year." Geus laughed it off and walked closer to the rest of the group. "Kind've the first holiday I ever celebrated with friends."
"Damn, sorry for pushing on you." Kirishima stepped back, just now he remembered Geus's situation. "Wasn't really thinking about your situation before UA."
"Hey that's only another reason to celebrate!" Midoryia stepped forward and offered a ice chilled mug. Filled to the brim with a dark soda and vanilla ice cream in the center. "Bet you never had this before, a root beer float."
Geus couldn't hide his smile and accepted the drink. "Won't do me any substance but whatever taste buds I've recovered might taste something."
"Happy Halloween!" A small white hair girl named Eri jumped onto the night stand. Her expression loud and proud and her arms reached for the heavens.
Geus leaned forward into the girl's bright red and happy eyes. He took a scoop of the ice cream and placed it in the child's mouth. Natural instincts took over and rubbed the girl's head. "As long as she's happy, I'm happy." Geus chuckled as he removed his mask. His smile only made the girl's wider. She jumped from the table and right onto his lap.
"You're all better!" She cheered.
"If only Na was still here." Geus pulled her into his side and fed her another scoop. "Maybe your smile could've made things better."
"Who's Na?" Eri asked as she felt his cheeks. Without hesitation she reached into his mouth and showed his teeth.
"Keena was his name. Around your age, give or take a few years. He always hated his powers too, feared the damage they could cause to others." Geus snuggled in the seat and leaned his head back. Turned it to the side and smiled. "Only if you two had met and changed those feelings."
"Now you're speaking like You'll never see us again." Ojiro laughed. "It's just a vacation with your grandfather. You're acting like you don't deserve a normal life once in a while."
Geus turned to the door frame, that dead stare feeling shivered his movement. In the bottom edge of his eyes saw the old man. He leaned against the doorway with a cylinder bag in hand. Geus placed the drink in Eri's hands and adjusted her to the seat as he stood up.
"I would've like more than a day to recover." Geus shrugged and grabbed the bag from the side of his chair. "I'll be back as soon as I see if my work study sensei works out."
Geus walked over to his grandfather and waved back with each goodbye. The man grabbed Geus's arm before he managed to slip by. The glare he felt hidden behind the usual dull look.
"You didn't tell them anything right, boy?" Gaz wrapped around Geus's shoulders and controlled their walk. "Remember, you're doing this for them. If we can sabotage everything from inside. Then they don't have to get in."
"I know that. I kept it under the revival of the work study program. That's all they're aware of."
The tension between the almost inseparable pair growed even further. The staff knew, and so did the other students. Even if they didn't fully understand the drift that was caused. But for the sake of the school and the end of the League, differences were put aside. And a happy face was stapled on.
The pair arrived to the small town hidden next to the mountain side. In the car the city looked completely normal, the shops mingled next eachother. While the locals did the same, nothing on the outside looked as if the League had any business here.
But the plan was laid out even if they didn't show up and infiltrate already. And the first step was already complete. The car stopped outside the giant tower that employed most of the people, and lead in money and resources. Several people waited to greet them, one of them busy on their laptop, and the other up and proper.
His receding orange hair line, and ironed suit held a giant smile and gently waved at them. "Glad to see your sage arrival, Mr. Sansei." The man slightly bowed as he stepped out of the car.
"Indeed, sir!" Sansei Sr. cheerfully laughed. He bowed back and swayed his arm out to the car. "Plus I was allowed to bring my boy with me." He motioned toward Geus who just stepped out of the car with all his bags.
"Ah, I see so the arrangements were allowed for the school. I truly wondered if the school would allow that, after all the villain attacks recently."
"Well, the few months I was at the school placed alot of faith onto me. Also helped that I could train my boy and become his mentor in his work study program."
"I sure hope it doesn't effect your work."
"Don't worry sir, just have to spend a couple hours on extra reports back to school. Nothing I can't handle."
He laughed and changed his attention to Geus. "Well young Sansei, My name's Rikiya Yotsubashi, pleasure to make your acquaintance."
"Geus, Geus Sansei. Looks like I'll be learning about the company and train under my grandfather for a while."
"Just for a little while until school starts back up. Unfortunately this town's a little far away and the travel back and forward is a stretch as it is."
"Completely understandable, well let me show you around and show you what we do. I'm you may know we built and manufacture the hero uniforms around majority of the force. Of course UA has their own department of constructs but I hope we can show you a little of amazement."
Geus nodded in agreement, we'll stop in the lobby to leave your bags in the meantime. No need to carry that throughout the tour."
The tour was nothing special, true restricted knowledge was behind each locked door. While the information publicly known was on full display. And nothing that showed any involvement of the League of Villains was in sight.
While it was to be expected that way, it still laid a platform of trust. As shallow as it may have been. Geus's quirk was shown off along with his grandfather's. His suit was studied and the layout of day to day life was made on the spot. These people looked regular enough, but their knowledge this deep was still odd.
The day was coming to a close, after hours of tests that went over his head. At the moment they didn't seem to distrust or expect anything sinister. It was just a rebellious boy and his grandfather. Old folk that mocked the young and so on.
They returned back to their home. A small apartment of a pair of bedrooms, living room, and kitchen. Between the couch and tv was a small traditional death mural of a young woman. Black hair, purple eyes, and a straight face, in front of it a incense burned.
Geus went up to it and knelt down. "Glad they kept it going as I was gone." Grandfather Gaz walked up to the couch and plopped down. "Only tradition I follow in this country."
"How'd she die?"
"An explosion following one of my experiments. We were testing out a suit for a new hero immune to radiation and other toxic fumes. He used radiation and could solidify the component to an infectless mixture. We were tasked to create a suit that could survive his quirk and the area. But found out when my quirk, his quirk, and radiation is involved, it's way more potent explosively than we thought."
"Why go against these people then? What changed?" Geus's voice was as mono as it could get. His face was solid and faced the picture.
"Because that's the official story. I know what really went down, it was a warning, a power move by the pointy nose shit you met. Someone happened to leave one of the computers open for me to copy down all the data. Weeks of studies exposed that the reaction would be deathly, and one spark is all it took for it to happen. And his quirk happened to spark a lot."
Geus looked back at him, his emotion became sorrowful. His first were tightened till his hands became white. "What was different this time? Villains do these sort of things all the time. Even you admit that you did much worse things."
Gaz leaned forward, his fingers interlocked and wrists rested on his thighs. "Because once they took her, trapped me in a foreign land, took my son away from me." His index finger pointed out to Geus. "Reading about you on the news, transforming your life outside of this. It may seem stupid to you. But I wasn't going to work for an asshole that could kill you at any moment."
