Black Dress

Donna finishes the last sip of champagne from her thousandth glass of the night, reclining naked on the hotel bed while her now-husband rests his head on her lap.

"So..." she giggles, placing the glass on the nightstand. "Out of the blue, couldn't you resist it anymore?" her words stretch out, influenced by the alcohol coursing through her system.

Harvey furrows his brow, turning to look at her. "What are you talking about?"

Donna laughs again, this time louder. "We've resisted the urge for what? 15 years? And suddenly you couldn't resist the urge for me to be your wife anymore?"

A smile spreads across Harvey's face, lighting up his eyes and causing his whole face to crinkle. "As you said, the wait has been too much. And when reality hit me, I couldn't wait any longer." He shrugs as if his answer is the most natural in the world.

Donna smiles at Harvey, feeling her heart race. "I mean, when I met you, I never thought you'd be capable of proposing to anyone. Let alone me, dressed in black. In black, Harvey! I got married wearing black!" she exclaims, laughing.

Harvey joins in her laughter and reaches up to caress the back of Donna's neck, pulling her closer. "You were the most beautiful bride in the world."

"But in black?" she crinkles her nose. "It isn't bad luck?"

"Do you really believe in such things?"

She shrugs her shoulders. "I don't know, but I want this to go well."

Harvey smiles sweetly at her. "It'll be fine, I promise."

"But you made me marry in black because suddenly you couldn't resist the urge to marry me."

"Any complaints, Mrs. Specter?"

"None at all. I actually like the sound of Mrs. Specter, even though it goes against everything I believed in!"

Harvey can't help but laugh and playfully bites her lip. "Well then, it's time to be quiet now. I'll make love to Mrs. Specter once again."

"Oh, gosh... I think I already enjoy being married."
