"Ji Mo!" Chiaki called out, waving to the other.

"Ah, Chi- Chiaki!" Ji Mo stuttered.

"So, I heard you were making salt for the Winged Lion Clan." Chiaki said, sitting down beside the blond. Qianhuang moved to help the males protect the females, his own mate was here now after all.

"Yes, I looked at Xiao Yu's mother and recognized the symptoms, the other sick women were the same." Ji Mo patted the pink haired girl on the head. "This is Xiao Yu."

"Hello female." The girl said.

"I'm Chiaki, nice to meet you Shihow-Yu." Chiaki tried pronouncing the girls name slowly. "I hope you are right Ji Mo, that way the males wont loose their mates."

Ji Mo sat quietly, unmoving at the mention of mates. Ah, so she hadn't come to terms with their situation. "Yes, they will have their females back." She said stiffly.

"You should get to know some of the men of the village." Chiaki pushed.

"I'm fine, I have been staying with the Matriarch."

"I'm sure that you will get along with at least one of them." Chiaki's voice stayed friendly, but she knew Ji Mo understood the deeper meaning of her words.

"I'm fine." Ji Mo snapped.

Xiao Yu looked at the female she had adopted as an older sister. Why had she yelled at Chiaki?

Chiaki hummed. It had taken very little to get Ji Mo to snap at her, she was really feeling the pressure from the males. "Then you should tell them that you want to focus on healing the other females."

Ji Mo looked at Chiaki. First she was pressuring her to go along with this craziness, now she was giving her ways to keep the males at bay? What was she wanting? "I keep telling them I don't want a mate."

Chiaki looked directly at her. "That wont work." She said matter-of-factly. "They'll never understand that decision."

Ji Mo snorted. "You grabbed up one of them as soon as you got here, so they will leave you alone."

"I had over eight males ask me to pick them as my second mate just while I looked for you in the village." Chiaki said. "Haven't you asked anyone any questions?" There were almost visible sparks between the two females as they sat there glaring at each other. "Trust me." Chiaki said calmly. "I'll let you think about things now, okay." She stood.

Just then a male came running with news that Xiao Yu's mother was starting to get worse. Thankfully the water had boiled away leaving a film of salt in the pot. Ji Mo didn't speak to Chiaki as she quickly scraped the salt into a bowl and rushed into the village, Xiao Yu and the three males that were guarding them following her.

"She's going to need more salt." Chiaki said to Qianhuan.

"I can go get more sea water."

"Yes... let's ask more of the males to go with you."

o.o.o.o.o.o.o.o.o.o

By the time Ji Mo exited the hut that belonged to Xiao Yu's mother to ask for help getting more sea water, Chiaki was standing there with Qianhuang and several dozen males who had offered to help in hopes of impressing either Ji Mo or Chiaki. Chiaki grinned. Ji Mo frowned.

Soon as the males had left Chiaki walked over to Ji Mo. "Sorry about being pushy."

"Yes."

"We need to go talk to the Matriarch and tell her everything." Chiaki pushed.

Slowly Ji Mo agreed. "Alright."

"Everything." Chiaki emphasized. "I told Key-ang everything last night."

"Why do you say names like that?"

"I got transmigrated from the USA, where'd you come from?"

"China."

"So the names here are easy for you to say?"

"Yes, they are Chinese names. I'm sorry names are difficult for you, but the rest of your Chinese in very good."

"I'm not speaking Chinese, I'm speaking English. Everyone is speaking English."

"Everyone is speaking Chinese, that's why how you say names stuck out to me so much."

"More magic." Chiaki grumbled. "We are probably speaking the local language to everyone around us."

Ji Mo looked surprised. She hadn't even questioned why everyone on another world spoke Chinese. But Chiaki hadn't questioned why everyone was speaking English either. "We should see the Matriarch."

"Now you are getting it." Chiaki said. "Lead the way, I haven't been to her hut."
