Grace Stone couldn't help but notice her husband's odd behavior over the past few weeks. Ever since his plane landed back home, something had felt off. How Ben was so overjoyed to see her, like he hadn't seen her in years. How he'd suddenly been filled with hope and optimism for the future- along with complete confidence that Cal would be healed, and that their marriage would get back on track. But Grace bought into all of it initially. They had a second chance, a fresh start to make things right.

After a few days passed, she began to notice small changes in her husband. Sometimes it seemed like his mind was in another place. He wasn't connecting with the kids in quite the same way. Like he suddenly struggled with relating to them. He mumbled things in his sleep that made no sense at all. Plane. Callings. Major. Eden. Sapphire. Passengers. The list went on.

Grace was beginning to get very worried.

As the two of them were cleaning up from breakfast that morning, she looked to her still-distracted husband. "I've been thinking," she started, getting his attention. "We've been under a lot of stress. For a long time really, ever since Cal got sick. I'm sure it's taken a toll on both of us. Maybe it would be good for us to sit down with a therapist and talk through everything."

"A therapist?" Ben repeated. "Grace, I really don't think that's necessary. We're good. Our family's good."

"Our son is still fighting for his life," she reminded him. "We're far from good."

"I know." He took her hands in his. "But I also know that Cal's going to make it. This treatment will work."

"How do you know that, Ben?" she questioned. "I mean, I want to believe that it'll work more than anything. I need to have that hope. But the fact is that it's an experimental treatment. How can you be so confident?"

He sighed. "It's hard to explain-"

Grace threw her hands up. "Hard to explain," she repeated. "Like everything else. Ben, I can't keep trying to guess what's going on with you, but something clearly isn't right. You're distracted. There's a disconnect between you and the rest of our family. Maybe it's stress-related. I don't know. But we have to deal with it."

He slowly began to respond when they heard the front door open and the voices of their kids and Ben's parents who were dropping them off.

"We'll talk later," he promised. Grace looked at him for a moment longer before leaving the room to greet the kids. While Ben ran a hand through his hair, realizing that he needed to come clean with his wife- no matter how difficult it might be. He started to follow her into the living room when his phone beeped with a text message.

"Saanvi," he noted, before reading the text: Need to talk to you. It's important.

"You have good timing," Ben remarked as he and Saanvi shared a quick hug before he followed her into her apartment. "I have something to talk about too," he told her.

"Yeah? What's going on?" she questioned.

"I have to tell Grace about 828," he answered, while they sat down on the couch. "She knows something is going on. She was talking about me being distracted, not connecting with the family like I used to. And she's right. I'm sure it'll get easier with time, but I don't want it to affect our marriage. Not when we just got a second chance."

Saanvi nodded. "I get it. There are things she can't understand until she knows the whole story."

"Have you reconsidered about telling Alex?" Ben wondered.

"Alex isn't speaking to me at the moment," Saanvi informed him. "I don't know if she ever will again. I've asked myself if telling her about 828 would make a difference, but it doesn't change the situation. She may not want any part of it regardless."

Ben frowned. "What situation? Are you in some kind of trouble?"

She paused before responding, "Well, that's actually why I asked you to come over. It's more like we're in trouble. Maybe not trouble exactly. It's just...it'll complicate things."

Before Ben could ask any further questions, Saanvi opened the drawer of the table beside them and pulled out a small sheet of paper that she then handed to him. Ben could then see that it was an ultrasound photo, but his brain didn't quite register the significance until he realized that Saanvi's name was printed on the image, along with how far along the developing baby was.

He slowly looked back to her with wide, stunned eyes. "You-You're pregnant?"

"Looks that way," she replied. "I didn't find out until last night. Alex took me to the hospital after I blacked out, and they confirmed it. That's why she walked out on me."

Ben was in a frozen state of shock, so Saanvi went on. "There's only one time that it could've happened, in either timeline. It's your baby, Ben."

He already knew that deep down, but the confirmation sent his mind into a frenzy.

"How is this possible?" he breathed. "Everything was reset back to 2013-"

"Not everything," Saanvi reminded him. "I still had that gunshot wound when we came back. If an injury can pass through time, a pregnancy could too."

Ben rubbed his hands over his face, trying to keep it together, but it felt like his stress level had just risen astronomically with this news. He thought life would finally return to some degree of normalcy, and now everything hung in the balance. He looked up, feeling Saanvi's hand on his shoulder.

"I know," she said, quietly. "That's how I felt at first too."

He took a shaky breath. "Saanvi, I never imagined...I mean, we didn't even know if we'd be alive a few days later. The idea of you getting pregnant...it just didn't cross my mind..."

"Ben, it's okay. It didn't cross mine either. Look at everything else we were dealing with at the time. It's hard to imagine that a child would come out of all that chaos. But it's where we are now. And despite the circumstances, I feel like this baby is supposed to be mine. I can't explain it. I didn't expect to feel an attachment so soon. But you...you already have a family. I would never want you to lose that because of me. So, if you choose not to be involved-"

"I would never do that," he said, shutting down the idea. Even though he was still reeling from the news, he knew he wanted to be a part of his child's life. And Saanvi's. He could never walk away from her, not after everything they'd been through together. The bond was too strong.

"Come here," Ben breathed, taking her into his arms. "We're gonna raise this baby as a team, okay. We'll figure everything else out as we go. Just trust me."

Saanvi nodded into his embrace. "Always," she whispered.
