Epilogue: It's Just an Invitation to a Nudist Resort
BEEP-BEEP! BEEP-BEEP! BEEP-BE..!
Komi stirred in her bed as the high-pitched alarm rang out in her bedroom. She reached out and gently patted her cat-shaped clock on its head, shutting off the alarm.
She rubbed her eyes and let out a yawn. As she stretched up towards the ceiling, her bedsheets slowly slid off the bed, revealing Komi's naked body.
[Komi decided to sleep naked again.]
It was yet another hot, muggy night in Komi's room, even with all of the fans blowing at full-speed. However, having slept the whole night in her birthday suit, Komi was able to get a full night of sleep. She woke up feeling calm and energized.
Which was good, since Komi did have quite a day planned for herself.
Komi grabbed her phone from her nightstand and looked through her messages again. At the bottom of the large batch of text messages she received from Tadano was her one reply to him, apologizing for not replying to him and asking if he wanted to go to the library with her.
He, of course, said "yes."
Normally, Komi would be anxious about seeing Tadano after what happened at school. However, she didn't feel the least bit worried. In fact, she was sort of looking forward to meeting with him.
Although, she'd be lying if she said she wasn't slightly worried about how things might change between them.
After a quick cool shower, Komi then quickly got dressed in thin, loose-fitting clothes. She stuffed her bag with study materials and made her way towards the door, where her mother was waiting for her to see her out.
"Remember, don't push yourself," she warned in a motherly fashion, "make sure you drink plenty of water and stay out of the sun whenever you can."
Komi nodded and smiled, acknowledging her mother's concerns. "Okay, have fun!"
Komi slipped on her shoes and walked out of the front door into the sweltering heat.
As Komi made her way to the library, she continuously flapped her shirt and wiped the sweat off her brow. Even while wearing a long-brimmed sun hat, the heatwave continued to make even the simplest of tasks difficult.
Fortunately, a new public library had just opened just a few blocks away from her house.
As Komi stepped inside the library, she was shocked to see it packed with people. Every table was full and the lounge areas were bustling with people either studying or socializing. The library staff seemed a bit overwhelmed.
Komi was beginning to feel overwhelmed as well. Not helping was everyone murmuring rather loudly, which also annoyed the library staff.
Komi scanned the place, trying to find Tadano, but she couldn't find him amongst the sea of faces.
"Psst…Komi! Over here!"
Komi jumped as she heard her name being called. She looked over her shoulder…and saw Tadano waving her into another room. She was relieved to see him and quickly ran over to him.
Once Komi was inside, Tadano closed the door behind her, effectively shutting out the noise from outside and creating a peaceful atmosphere. "I thought it would be better if we used one of these private study rooms," he explained, "I managed to get the last one."
Komi was grateful for his thoughtfulness. They sat down across from each other. Komi unpacked her bag and placed her math notes down in front of her, adding to the pile of notes Tadano had put on the table.
"Here," Tadano said, offering his notebook to Komi. "These are the notes from our math class before our teacher fainted."
Komi gasped at hearing that their math teacher had fainted, presumably from heat exhaustion.
"Yeah, you weren't the only one that fainted at school because of the heat," continued Tadano. "By the way, how have you been? Are you feeling better?"
"...y-yes," replied Komi.
"That's good. You really scared a lot of our classmates. They were all rushing to help you."
Komi then got to work copying Tadano's math notes, secretly wishing he would change the subject.
[She's still embarrassed about fainting.]
Tadano waited for Komi to reply back, but he could sense that Komi would rather not remember her fainting in school. "W-Well, it's good to see you're much better now," he said frantically.
As Komi copied his notes, Tadano opened another one of his notebooks to look over some of the math problems in their homework.
But try as he might, there was one thing Tadano wanted to talk to Komi about, something that he desperately wanted to know about.
"I went to your house yesterday," he blurted out.
Komi perked her head up. She was surprised to hear that Tadano tried to visit her. "I wanted to check on you, but you weren't home," said Tadano.
Komi gulped. It took a moment for her to answer.
"I…I went to the beach," she said, purposefully trying to avoid mentioning it was a nude beach.
"With your mom, right?" replied Tadano. "Your brother said you and your mom went to the beach for a girl's day. That must have been fun."
Komi just stared at Tadano with her usual, wide eyes. "We went to the beach…far away," she murmured just loud enough for him to hear. "I…I played volleyball. And…and a card game. And…I…I even…got to pet a…kitten."
Tadano's face lit up. "Really? You did all that?!" he asked, excitedly. "That's great! I'm glad to hear you had a good time!"
Tadano's excitement proved to be infectious as Komi found herself smiling as well, washing away all of her worries.
"Did you happen to make any new friends while you were there?" he asked.
Komi hesitated on telling Tadano about her new friends. She was worried that he might want to meet them, then he would be in for quite the surprise.
Nevertheless, she took a deep breath and handed Tadano her "Friend Book." Tadano scrolled through all of the names, noting the new ones added to the bottom of the list. "Wow, that's a lot of names!" he said, amazed. "And you met them in one day? That's incredible, Komi!"
Komi covered her face, happy to hear such praise from Tadano.
"T…Thank you," Komi murmured, her heart swelling in self-pride.
Tadano was curious to hear more about Komi's newfound friends. "Do they happen to live around here?"
Komi froze up as she realized she never bothered to ask her new friends where they were from. But considering she had never seen them around her neighborhood, she guessed that they didn't live close by. "I…I don't think so," she whispered.
"Oh, that's a shame," Tadano said, somewhat disappointed. "I would have liked to meet them."
The two then focused their attention on their math homework. It was eerily quiet in their private study room, with only the scribbling of their pencils and the hum of the fluorescent lights echoing in the room.
After working on a few math problems, Komi spoke up.
"There's…something I want to tell you," she said in a soft voice.
"Huh? What is it?" asked Tadano.
Suddenly, Komi found herself unable to say anything. Tadano could tell it was something big as Komi was struggling even more than usual to speak. She scrunched her face and grabbed her chest, looking as if she was choking.
"There's a place I want to go," she said finally. "Up in the mountains."
"Oh?" Tadano replied with interest.
"I wonder…if you would…g-go with me?"
"Up in the mountains? Uh, sure, I guess. What kind of place are we going to?"
"It's…it's a…"
Komi couldn't bring herself to say what it was.
Instead, after taking a big gulp, she slowly took out a brochure she just happened to have in her bag and handed it to Tadano.
Komi then covered her bright red face, which only confused Tadano greatly.
Tadano quickly scanned the front of the brochure. "Huh? Well, this looks interesting."
He then began reading the inside of the brochure.
"The Hadaka Mountain Resort is a fun place for both families and couples to take part in all sorts of fun outdoor activities, meet new people, and explore the great outdoors. All while wearing the best fitting attire…your birthday suit!"
Tadano's eyes popped upon reading the last portion of the blurb. "B-B-Birthday suit?!" he read again.
He then took a glance at the name of the resort and realized that it had the word Hadaka in it. Even on the cover, there was a picture of a happy family bathing in the hot springs.
"Wait a minute, this is a…!"
He then looked up at Komi, who had her face buried in her hands. " No way! Is…is Komi inviting me…to a nudist resort?! "
Little did either of them know, this was the beginning of Tadano's eventual transition into a full-fledged nudist, to strengthen the bond between him and the class goddess, Komi.
[But that's another story for another time.]
MEANWHILE
"Finally!" Shuuko muttered under her breath. With both Shouko and Shousuke out, she was happy to have the house to herself.
…or so she thought.
As Shuuko stepped into the kitchen, she was very surprised to see Masayoshi sitting at the table. "Oh! Masayoshi! I thought you already left for work. Don't tell me they canceled because of the heat."
"I took the day off," he answered.
Shuuko sat down across from Masayoshi. "This is nice," Shuuko said with her hands on her knees and swinging her legs. "It's been a while since we were alone together."
Masayoshi just gave her a small smile.
For a moment, the two sat in silence. Shuuko waited for Masayoshi to say something, maybe even take advantage of the two being alone together, but he kept quiet.
At last, he spoke. "We should take a vacation," he said, "just the two of us."
Shuuko was caught off-guard by his sudden request. "A vacation?" she asked. "Uh, s-sure! Sounds great! Anywhere in particular?"
Masayoshi held up a brochure, one that looked very familiar to Shuuko. And she was quite shocked and a little horrified to see it in her husband's hands.
It was the brochure for the Hadaka Mountain Resort.
"W-Where did you find that?" stammered Shuuko, somewhat embarrassed.
Masayoshi didn't answer. With a serious look on his face, he simply pointed to the brochure. "Let's go," he said bluntly.
Shuuko looked at him, very confused. "Go where? To the resort?"
"Yes."
Shuuko was confused. "Um, but that's a…nudist resort."
Masayoshi took another look at the brochure, then he turned to Shuuko. "So it is," he said.
Shuuko was questioning whether or not he was playing dumb. "You know, if we go, you would have to be naked," she explained.
There was a short pause before Masayoshi answered again. "Would you be naked too?" he asked, leaning forward so his pupils could be seen over the frames of his glasses.
Shuuko froze up, astonished that he would ask something like that so casually. "Y-Y-Yes, probably," she replied.
Masayoshi then put down the brochure. Shuuko gasped as he grabbed onto both of her hands, cupping them in a gentle, loving fashion. "Then let's both be nudists together," proposed Masayoshi.
Shuuko's heart began beating rapidly as she could feel her face and ears getting hot. " There's no way this is the same man, " she thought, as she could feel her brain suddenly working overtime.
She suddenly felt a desperate need for a drink of water.
And thus began Masayoshi's gradual transformation into becoming a nudist, to rekindle the flickering ember between him and his eternally youthful wife, Shuuko.
[But that's yet another story that must be told at another time.]
KOMI'S STORY END
A/N: And that's nudist story number three finished! Hopefully, I did a good enough job keeping to the spirit of the anime/manga.
And yes, I'm planning on there being two sequels, one featuring Tadano and Komi, the other featuring Komi's parents.
But it might be a while before I get to work on them. I would like to focus on some other stories featuring characters from other series, even some happening outside of the Hadaka Beach Resort.
Again, thanks everyone for your comments and feedback! And wait until you see what I have planned next!
