"...and then we followed into here, where we chased some faeires away from you." James said as Renata hugged her knees to her chest. The party had sat around, still tired from their chase as they sat around in the rather bright moon light of the feywilds. Renata sat for a moment, as James and Randor brought out their respective vices, a fresh pipeweed cigar, and a flask of gnomish cider. Both started to pass it around.

"We're kids?" Oliver said as his question fell on the deaf ears of Renata who slung back the flask and puffed off the cigar before devolving into a coughing fit.

"As yer friend here gets," Randor said before taking a drag off the cigar before passing it to Kame, "issat yer not just kids anymore. Yer adventurers now lad. The rules that apply to, normal kids to yer brother right? They don't apply to ye. Yer arse is fightin' beasties and devils, ya get to drink all ya want."

James piped up as the cigar and flask made their way to Oliver.

"Look kid, you, me, Randor, and the lass aren't meant to be in this extra planar shit, that's Kame's schtick. Our brains literally can't handle the effects of this world for too long. Ya dull the senses however, lower the shutters a bit, and you can get more time to process things."

Oliver thought about it for a moment before placing the cigar on his lips and breathed in deeply. He could feel the smoke in his mouth, the taste was peppery and dry and left a burning in his mouth but managed to blow it out before passing the cigar to James. He was fine for a moment, but he began to cough as his throat gently seized up. He tried to open it up with liquid, but the cider burned more than the pipeweed and made his lips numb. He passed the flask on while wincing and trying to regain his breath.

"So what now?" Renata asked, shakily trying to regain her strength.

"Well there's the thousand dragon question. Kame?" James said as he passed the cigar back to Renata, and she passed him the flask.

"Looks like our only way-path is forward there." Kame said as he pointed to an overarching bridge of tree roots, beyond that seemed to be another island in the fey swamp.

"Well we best make sure we're ready for a fight… Did anyone grab the lass's pike?"

Everyone stared at randor who was the one awake in her room.

"Fackin' useless the lot of yas. Take me musket, lass. You ever shoot a sparkarm lassie?"

"No, that's those uhm… boomsticks right? Adventurers have 'em all the time." Renata asked as she puffed on the cigar.

She passed off the cigar as Randor handed her the musket.

"Shoulder it like that, good lass. Now take an aim at that there tree. Hold firm, she's gonna kick like a mule. Line those notches up and…" Renata pulled the trigger, and with a thundering boom a crack of lighting magic shot a small amount of metal through the air faster than even magic eyes could see. The light brown bark was blasted away entirely, the bark disappearing in a flutter of glowing multicolored butterflies.

As Randor explained how to reload the musket as he handed her his bag of sparkpowder cartridges Oliver puffed off the cigar, letting the effects of the pipeweed wash over him, as the lights all around made him giggle to himself.

"Ya know, I'm all for this like," James began complaining again for the 10th time that hour took a drag off his cigar, "Saving the orphans thing we're doing. But if we walk through anymore FUCKIN' FEY ISLANDS!" He shouted into the large field that they walked through.

"I'm gonna lose my mind."

Suddenly a large sharp blow landed across James's face.

"Ow! Alright fine I'll shut up. Gods, coulda said somethin'." Kame glanced back at the human as Randor spoke up from the front.

"The hells are you on about back there, Jimmy!?"

The five found themselves wading through a sea of flowers. Some were familiar to them, though they grew in unnatural colors. Blue roses, red violets, prismatic daisies with each petal a different shade; while others are completely alien, strange shapes in brilliant hues. Most notable, though, were the blue azure poppies that grow here and there, each at least three feet tall. They swayed enticingly in the light breeze, and little motes of glowing pollen floated around them.

As oliver looked around, he suddenly felt a sharp smack to the back of his head. "Ow! Who just hit me!" The jinx boy snarled back. James began to form his cigar sword.

"Shit we've got an invisible enemy."

Oliver pulled out CleaveStriker, Randor brought forth his shield and warhammer as Kame pulled out a strange launcher containing four spheres of different colors and cause a small gust of wind by twirling around his curved scimitar blade. Renata threw the ramrod down the barrel of the sparkarm, readying herself with fearful glances around for her supposedly invisible foe.

Kame stood firm as the rest of the party formed a circle in the center of the field. The Warforged incarnate glanced around for a moment before noticing some of the strange pollen moving through the air and slashed towards it, causing a blast of wind to send the strange golden pole flying from the blue poppy and directly into his mask. Kame sneezed before a wave of wooziness overtook him.

"I uhm… gonna.. Quick-take… Nap…" The warforged suddenly collapsed into a deep sleep.

"Fuckin, alright our ace in the hole is out." James said as he glanced around to see if there was something to target.

"How is he our ace?" Oliver piped up.

"Well if we can't find this thing before we get killed lad, ya might find out…" Randor said as he looked over the field.

Kame found himself peering through the darkness, he was back in the material plane, and pushed himself from a pile of sleeping humanoids that he recognized, his party members.

"What in Mata-Nui? So all that was just an illusion-dream?" Kame said before he turned around.

There stood a large undulating mass, glowing a pale blue. It stood tens of feet high, and appeared as if it were a large fungus with a writing mass of roots acting as its appendages. Kame watched as one of it's appendages became a blur of speed as it seemed to smack at something that wasn't there.

In the feywild, renata was struck, the sparkarm went off as it hit the ground, and she was sent flying into a tree. She fell limp, hitting the ground with a sickening crunch.

"RENATA!" Oliver shouted as he tried to rush over to his friend. James grabbed him by the hood, pulling the kid back into place.

"Stay focused! We'll get to her when we aren't getting smacked around by fuckin' nothing!"

James yelled as suddenly he felt some strange force slam him in the gut. He coughed up some blood from the force of the impact.

"Fuck."

Oliver glanced around trying to think of some way out of this. He felt a surge of magic, and went with it thrusting his keyblade into the air. "Thunder!"

A loud boom is heard that rocks the fey wild. The sound causes all of the raven black hair to fall from his head. "Gaah! Stupid fucking magic!" He then runs over to where Renata fell.

"Kid fuckin' Damn it! Randor cover the kid!" James said as he plunged his cigar sword into the ground, disturbing a nearby blue poppy bush. He snapped his fingers and lightning blasted from his hands before he plunged them into the swampy island.

"Alchemist, mortar!" He shouted as he puled forth a large tube from the ground. He racked the shot, and then fell asleep right as he fired a mortar shot in the air.

"James! Fuck, dragon shit! Lad!? Lass!?" Randor glanced back to see Oliver holding the now lifeless body of Renata in his arms. Blood poured from her mouth and the top of her head as her neck hung to the side.

"Morradin gi oss styrke…" He muttered as he readied himself against the invisible force. He touched the top of his hammer for a moment, causing it to glow orange with heat as he put himself between the kids and where assumed the creature was and waited for a chance to strike. He could hear James's mortar shot begin whistling down toward the battlefield.

In the material world, Kame glanced back to see James rise from the sleeping party. The warforged waved at the confused obake.

"Hello-Welcome back from dream-sleep land! There's a humongous fungus among us!" He pointed out the large blue mushroom creature before rushing into strike at the mushroom monster.

"The fuck is that thing?" Was the monkey man's only response.

As Kame sprinted forward he swished his scimitar through the air, building up a gust of wind before spinning low into a crouch before blasting a massive airstream toward the large Mushroom. The mushroom creature tried to hold form against the Incarnate, but was forced back from the wind fading from the material plane, and back into the Feywild.

The mushroom creature materialized before Randor and he leapt into the air with his searing smite ready to slam down on this creature. He slammed the hammer down on it, causing a small fiery explosion at the point of impact. The mortar from James's misfire hit true, exploding on impact with the top of the mushroom. The monster swung one of it's vine roots down at the dwarf as he fell through the air. Randor hits the ground and looks up, only to be hit in the face with a bunch of glowing yellow spores falling from the glowing mushroom as he falls unconscious.

Oliver quietly sobbed over his friend's corpse. They were just kids, he was only 15, her 13. They had so much to live for. The root vine slammed into the tree behind him, knocking it to the side as he screamed loudly and clung to his friend's body. He wept, grieving her and himself.

James suddenly springs to wake in the Feywild before rushing voer to his mortar, and aimed it up into the large mushroom.

"This island's small, there isn't mush room!" He yelled before firing the mortar into the creature. The creature whipped a root around, and slammed the shot from the air before it exploded in the ground.

"Oh, fack off! I can't believe I wasted that pun on that fuckin' shite."

Randor woke up in the material plane and started vomiting on the ground Immediately. He then stood shakily and spat. "Best watch yourself lad, the thing is poison." The dwarf called to Kame.

"It can quick-jump through the magna-planes yourself!" The warforged replied.

Randor ran over to one of the blue poppies before turning back to Kame.

"The Lass is dead, unless your waters can bring back her soul we gotta find a life cleric." He said before jumping back to the feywild.

He looked back to see Oliver crying over Renata's corpse and ran over to them.

"Look lad, she's gone for now. Ya hearin' me? We can bring her back but for right now there ain't nothing we can do but survive till we find a life cleric alright lad?" As he spoke, Randor quickly reloaded his musket.

Oliver sniffed away his tears. "We can bring her back?"

"Aye lad, we just gotta survive." The dwarf smiled at the jinx boy, before firing at the mushroom. The bullet winged the mushroom, but the monster had no reaction.

"Gods damn it…"

Kame bursts into the Feywild as a burning aura of red flame engulfs his scimitar before he rushed into slash through the mushroom monster. He slashed through the roots, burning through many of them before using his strange blaster to fire of a sphere of air energy sending him flying away from the poisonous spores.

The Mushroom monster sway back and forth before shaking it's mushroom cap releasing a bunch of spores, putting Kame, James, and Randor to sleep. It then faded away back into the material plane.

Oliver was spiraling, a cacophony of thoughts and emotions swam through him. His friend was dead, his foster parents finally abandoned him, he was trapped in a strange magic realm fighting for his life with lunatics.

'But they can bring her back…'

He stood slowly as CleaveStriker appeared in his hand again. He rushed over to a blue poppy bush as rage overtook him. He passed into the material world…

But Oliver did not wake up.
