"Like I was saying, the men of this world are mostly harmless, just sex obsessed." Chiaki said as Huanhuan blushed at the direct words. "Sure, there have been a few times a saw a guy get to annoying to the female he was trying to court... her other mates beat him to a pulp. Then their are guys like Curtis, who is called a feral male, because... well I'm still not clear on why. He's a snake beast and they have a different idea on the way to raise their kids... and that is, they don't."
"But why?!" Huanhuan asked, startled by the idea.
"He says that they have some kind of genetic memory that would cause his sons to view their mother as their mate." Chiaki shook her head. "It's not like I don't believe him. It's just such a weird genetic quirk to have evolved." She placed her hand in her flat belly. "I... I might have been pregnant. It would have been really really early, like only a few days pregnant... but with the bleeding Curtis described to me. I can't be sure."
"I'm sorry." Huanhuan said softly. "If, well, you know, if you were."
Chiaki sighed. "Thanks. Anyway, from what Curtis has told me, feral males tend to fall into two types. The first are beast men that have less desirable beast forms, like snakes and scorpions- plus males who can't transform between different forms. I haven't seen a beast man who couldn't change between his forms. I guess the women of this world don't like them because of that, for some odd reason. The second are males who have given up on playing nice to get a mate, each of them have their own story I'm sure. In most cases, feral males stay far away from settled areas. Once in a while one will try their luck at catching a females attention... or outright kidnapping them in a desperate bout of stupidity." She shook her head. "I think I have brought you up to speed on the world now. Next, well... the reason we have been transmigrated here in the first place."
She lifted her hand. "See the world." A blue glow, one that Huanhuan was surprised to see appeared in-front of Chiaki's hand. At first it was just a glow to her eyes, then slowly it became more and more focused.
"This is sort of an identification screen for me, it would take forever to learn everything the regular way. Can you see it?"
"Sort of?" Huanhuan said. It was a blue glowing screen, but to her it was too unfocused to be read. "How can you do that?"
"Would you believe a gift from a child like angel?"
Huanhuan blinked at the other female. "A- what?!"
Chiaki shook her head. "Don't worry and try it."
Huanhuan held out her hand. "See world?" She spoke questioningly. A fizzle of blue appeared at her palm, then faded away. She looked at her palm and sighed. "It didn't work."
"Maybe you haven't been here long enough. I mean, I'd been here about seven months before I made a clear connection."
"Oh, alright." Huanhuan replied. "I guess I'll try every day to see if it happens."
"Good idea!"
"What's a good idea?" Curtis asked as he came through the door. Bai Di and Langzhu were with him, along with a silver haired male she didn't know.
"Huanhuan wants to learn the plants around the village." A half-truth, but three of the males in the room were unaware of the two females true origins and it wouldn't do to spread the truth around carelessly. If they proved to be trustworthy like the Winged Lion tribe then it was a possibility.
"That's wonderful!" Langzhu said brightly. "That means she'll be staying in the Rock Mountain Wolf Tribe, yes?"
Chiaki had warned her, so Huanhuan was ready with her answer. "For a short time, yes, Elder Langzhu. I may go to the City of Beasts with Chiaki when she and her mate return home."
"Your home is in the City of Beasts?" Langzhu questioned. "Which one?"
Curtis answered. "The three ring city north of here."
"Highcliff City of Beasts? Hmm, that city is many miles away... though it is the closest to here. The next closest is the Darkmoon City of Beasts with their temples, but that's not in the same direction."
"I brought you a large slice of roasted boar meat." Bai Di quipped up, drawing Chiaki's attention to himself. Curtis glared, but knew pushing the male away now would only hinder his mates recovery.
"And the liver!" Langzhu added. "Normally innards are not fed to females, but this one is good for loosing too much blood." Then he couldn't help adding a bit more under his breath. "And fertility." All the males ears perked up at the last words, but it hadn't been heard by the females.
"Thank you Bai Di." Chiaki said taking the platter that was offered to her. He was blushing red in the face at the thoughts flowed through his mind. Curtis coughed, when the tiger male didn't step back as quickly as he liked.
Langzhu handed another platter of food to Huanhuan. "Thank you Elder. Who is this?" She motioned to the remaining male in the room.
"Hm? Ah yes, this is the young leader of our tribe, Shuang Yun the Frost Cloud. He's here to... see what all the commotion was about." He of course meant Curtis and Bai Di fighting, as he'd arrived just as it came to an abrupt end.
"Nice to meet you." Chiaki said, quickly followed by Huanhuan likewise greeting the leader of the village.
"Where is the wolf who brought me here?" Huanhuan asked next.
"Seeing Bai Di bring back a wild boar to offer to Chiaki had him rushing off to do much the same for you." Langzhu explained.
"Oh!" Huanhuan blushed.
"Of course, it will take time to hunt and fix, Bai Di agreed to share his kill... with a little prompting." The older male looked at the tiger. Bai Di had not wanted to look unfaithful to the female he was attempting to impress, but also did not want to seem cruel. It had been decided that part of the meal would be given to Huanhuan, but Langzhu would give it to her to show that Bai Di was not seeking favour with the purple eyed female.
