Sigh...

My brain needs to stop these ideas.

So hello everyone! I welcome you back to me trying to make a RWBY x Legend of Zelda crossover story.

This one might be a short one-shot. I might extend it to be longer if I want to try and make a full on story. But it'll depend if my motivation of making this will continue.

Which might continue if my brain loves making up these plot bunnies.

But regardless... Let's show this prompt and see the magic happen with our resident noodle boy, Jaune Arc, along with an... unexpected partner through this first part of the story, I hope y'all enjoy the first chapter!

I don't own anything from RWBY or Legend of Zelda, though if I did I'd totally try and make them a crossover world, there's just too much potential fun for it!

Jaune Arc was a great many things in his first semester here in Beacon.

A knight in the name of the Arc family tree, a tradition passed down from generation to generation from the Male side of the family. With enriching history so vast that even he doesn't know about it.

A brother to seven happy, she-devil sisters that somehow get their way every time at his expense. It was hard being the 5th born Arc to 7 sisters, but it was a life he had to live nonetheless.

Student of this wonderful academy and all the amazing resources it has to offer to a "Hunter" like himself

Thank you fake transcripts...

Leader of a team, though would not of believed the news if he was told by Headmaster Ozpin a thousand times over. With two lovely ladies, and his quickly growing brother from another mother male teammate.

The wonderful Team JNPR, with the bubbly, pancake obsessed Nora Valkyrie, the cool as a cucumber kung fu ninja, but lazy Lie Ren, and last but certainly not least, the best partner on planet Remnant itself: Pyrrha Nikos. He was lucky to have the team he was blessed with.

He also had bonding friendships with their tough as nails sister team; Team RWBY. Courtesy of Team Leader in arms and reaper of cookie souls, Ruby Rose.

Well... that last one wasn't as accurate per say. More like one friend, one that he wished didn't hate his absolute guts, one was a complete stranger except all but name, and one Yang.

But that was fine! Its the thought that counts and he thought they were all friends at Beacon, he'll get around to knowing Blake and Yang eventually, maybe...still needs to apologize with vomiting on Yang boots part.

Snow Angel on the other hand... was definitely a work in progress.

Hmm... Was he forgetting something? Maybe something important in this list of what he is.

Maybe... AHA!

There was one more thing he was during this semester right at this very moment

"Argh, I don't have enough time for this!"

He was screwed...

The blonde knight was in the expansive territory of knowledge at this prestigious academy.

Also known as the library.

The reason for this trip?

There was a project that one of the teachers assigned to the first year students. The quirky, but fast pace Bartholomew Oobleck.

Profes- DOCTOR Oobleck assigned the first year students a history report that was due at the end of the week.

This made the blond knight sweat a bit, he was already having some complications with the green haired Doctors class, among the other Professors mind you.

Luckily his wonderful partner Pyrrha has been there to help him in his time of need, with anything that could help for studying, getting ready for the Vytal Festival with some combat training, or even just lending an ear to talk to him and give him some advice.

But with that helpful nature of Pyrrha's, unfortunately a problem had reared its ugly head.

He was always so tired when after training with her. He thought fighting Cardin was bad... Pyrrha was just destroying him! Its no wonder she's a 4 time champion. But regardless of that, she was only trying to help him improve in his combat abilities to help him catch up to the rest his peers.

When she asked about the project and if he had finished it yet, Jaune always gave her a 'Don't worry about it, I'll finish it when I'm fresh'.

She only gave him a worried glance after that response usually, just to turn around and believe him

Unfortunately for the nerdy blond knight, he procrastinated a bit and now he only has 3 days to turn in a 15 page report on a certain history subject.

Jaune was searching high and low for some kind of saving grace on one of the lower shelves for an easy read. But alas, he was out of luck as most of the material down below was either ground that was covered during the course, books for fictional readings, or guilty pleasure comics.

While that last part wasn't important in his quest, he swore that he'd be back for that sweet X-Ray and Vav comic that was nestled in the 2nd shelf. He knew he didn't have #24 of that collection, and he was definitely gonna check it out when he was done.

But right now... Important history project time.

He really wished he paid attention to the full explanation that the Doctor was talking about, that info could of been useful when taking this project head on a few days back when it was first assigned.

He could remember Dr. Oobleck's words well.

"I expect you all to find out a part of history in Remnant that we have never covered in class, to keep you on your toes! Yes you are the future generations of Hunters and Huntresses, but learning of our history will expand your minds to think blah blah blah..."

Until that long tirade that Jaune tried to stay awake for put him to sleep, it was a tough fight that his eyelids tried to win. But in the end, it didn't even matter. His eyes betrayed him while the good doctor was explaining the essay to his class. Last night's training was especially brutal with the Mistral red head, he couldn't help himself but to pass out.

Which followed up with Oobleck yelling at him immediately to wake up and pay attention when he caught him snoozing.

Causing him massive embarrassment yet again in front of his peers, among the dozens of times that it has happened during the semester.

He shook his head during those negative thoughts, he knows he shouldn't look down on himself. His father always taught him to have confidence in any situation.

So why didn't it work when courting his Snow Angel?

Regardless, he messed up and now he has to pay the price for his mistakes. An Arc knows when he must take responsibility for his actions.

He was looking to get a ladder for the high shelfs in the library. Maybe there was some kind of saving grace in the heavenly books above for him that can get him started on his project.

With permission from the library staff, he went and got the ladder to climb to the higher sections to check out the books.

When he went up to the top shelf, his deep blue eyes scanned the older books in top of the shelf.

If there was anything that could help him, the oldest books on top shelves were his best bet. They always say that the books that have the most dust, are the oldest. Which means they've got to be history books.

Or maybe that was the most boring?

Either way, with baited breath he looked at the first dusty book in his possession. He coughed slightly from how much dust it accumulated before examining it, the book has a beige coloring and looked promising.

Only to see the front name of the cover and look at the book in confusion.

Where the Wild Faunus Are.

This book... was just a children's book for bedtime stories, what was it doing here on the top shelf?

"Ok... maybe the next one will help me."

He pulled another book from the shelf, this time a dusty yellow colored one. This one baffled him even further when looking at a cartoonish picture of Professor Port.

How to Kill Grimm For Dummies?

Well... Its quite cathartic to find a book like this now. Maybe the universe is mocking him in a sense for his inexperience.

He thought it couldn't get any weirder, but it did. Why were these thing still here? He hadn't seen these manuals in ages and they were heavily outdated for these times of Hunters and Huntresses, and further more why was Port on the front of them?

"Okay so that one was a bust well, maybe the next one? Please?"

Ninja's of Love: Uncensored Katana Edition.

He knew what this was and his eyes just shrunk to dinner plates, one of his sisters was a big fan of the NOL series and was making a collection.

Let's just say it was never for younger audiences when she accidentally left it around. Mother went ballistic when one of my older sisters Amethyst left it on her bed.

"What the fu.." Jaune said pretty loudly when finding something so raunchy in a institution like this. Only to get cut off by multiple noises

"SHHHHHHH!"

People hissed from down below in the main study area. Seems the blond knight was too loud for his own good and with that outburst disturbed some of the people that were trying to study.

Regardless of that altercation, he continued to search the top shelf, holding out hope for a good history book to plop down in his lap and save him from this misery.

But just like his usual luck, it never seems to work for him. Because with each new book he pulled out, he only got more confused on whether this was an organized library section.

Caffeine Courtship or How I Fell In Love With Mistress Coffee.

"What?" he whispered, what are these literary choices he was finding up here!?

Yaoi and Yuri, the Judge and the Jury.

Jaune only shivered at that title.

Fashion Freaks on How to Change Your Friends Fashion Style.

"Why are their fashion magazine's up here? I know this is a library but I feel like they should be down below."

Giggles and Chuckles: The Book for Bad Puns and Knee Buckles.

"Yang must never know about this books existence, for the goodness of humanity." He stared off into some space horrified, he and all of his friends were very aware of the Bombshells "sense of humor", and how it made them all suffer.

Daula Pean: How To Cook Grimm Meat in Different Delicious Ways.

Jaune had no words for the impossibility of that cook book and only palmed his face at the stupidity of it.

Wait you can eat Grim-

Jean and the Giant Pancake.

"Definitely don't want Nora getting this one. Don't want to give her any ideas." Last time the team wanted to do team breakfast, Nora thought it was a good idea to have him and Ren cook a hundred pancakes.

In the end, Nora was the only winner that day in the dorms.

Good Witch Hunting

"Honestly that just seems offensive to Ms. Goodwitch."

Red vs Blue Anthology

And this final book just looks like a current work of fiction, looks interesting but not what he's looking for.

After reading off the final book cover on the shelf, Jaune gave off a heavy sigh. He couldn't believe that there was no good history book on this shelf. This was ridiculous, there's no way this entire shelf didn't have any different history books other than the Great War and stuff about the Faunus Revolutions.

The blonde knight was feeling it a bit discouraged on doing this on his own right now, he should of asked help from his team members. But he didn't want to burden them with this assignment, they probably still need to finish up their papers and he didn't want them picking up his slack.

Besides, he wanted to feel like he could pull his own weight, ever since that Forever Falls wake up call, he wanted to prove to everyone that he can be a great huntsman like his ancestors before him.

That he can become a hero like he always dreamed of.

"Like the stories dad used to tell me about when talking about Great Grandpa Arthur Arc." His Great-Great-grandfather was one of the previous owners of his Shield Sword Weapon today: Crocea Mors.

Even to this day the family heirloom is shrouded in mystery with how long its been in the Arc family's service, Jaune wants to be worthy of wielding this sacred sword to be the best hunter he can be.

He looked off into the window to see the sun still shining outside, there was still plenty of daylight left, he needed to keep pushing to find a book in time before the library closed for the day, with a steely resolve he will continue his search from the other large bookshelves in the library.

As he was climbing down the ladder however, his body stopped for a second on the middle of climbing down to the bottom of the ladder.

It was strange... He stopped at the 4th level of the same bookshelf he was on. To see a strange book sitting there. Now mind you it didn't look to stand out, but he noticed something about it that may have peaked his interest, well other than the immediate thickness of the book compared to the others.

Instead of words on the spine of the book to tell what the book was about, he only saw a triad of yellow triangles on the book to signify anything on the otherwise bland looking green tome.

It was strange, usually the symbol of Vale's Axe or the other Kingdoms symbols would give a message of where this book is based off of if its a history book mind you. But Jaune has never seen a symbol like that in Vale, Vacuo, Mistral, or Atlas. Its quite strange to say the least.

"Maybe it represents a minor kingdom... Like the land of Menagerie or some other place." The blond's thought of the object was curious. The green object felt like it was calling to him, beckoning him to read its contents, like a whisper on the wind.

So with that sent in mind he picked the surprisingly large book and looked at the title.

The Book Of Mudora: Stories Of Remnant's 5th Kingdom Of The World.

Blue eyes widen in surprise.

"5th kingdom? There's no way that could be true. If so then why hasn't this been discussed about in Oobleck's class? There's no way he could of forgotten about." The blond's thoughts turned for the better in this arrangement, if this kingdom truly did exist then maybe he could be the first to cover it in class in the assignment.

Honestly this book could be something special in the making.

With some wind blowing in his sails once again, Jaune felt the big break that he needed with this book being the ticket out of a failing grade with the good doctor.

With that in mind he needed to find a table to study this book at and find it fast before the Library gets too crowded with other 1st years and 2nd years taking the tables.

(5 Minutes Later)

Jaune found one of the only open spots in the library that wasn't full of Hunter and Huntresses together in groups.

The good news is that it was in the back corner of the library so no one would disturb his reading when he needs to stay focus on his task.

Not that he couldn't multitask, but this project was really important to finish up and maybe pass Ooblecks class as an end of the semester project.

Bad news is that somebodies stuff was on the desks, full of books and their scroll on the table to signify that they were using it.

B-But that was ok, they were probably only using half of the table. Certainly they could be friendly and let him stay there and read the book.

"Maybe this might be a bad idea." The blond thought. He really just needs to read some of this material and then head back for some combat practice with Pyrrha. At least give him an idea of what kind of subject he's working with.

With that in mind he decided to double down and sit in open chair across from all books were placed out. He put his book right and front of him and hyped himself up.

This is it, he's gonna have to knuckle down and get this ball rolling.

So with a deep breath, he turned the page to see the opening words that stared back at him in bold letters.

THE KINGDOM OF HYRULE.

Jaune raised his eyebrows on that, while looking at the imagery of the page. It was a picture of a white and blue castle, with greenery and beautiful landscape artistry with far as the eye can see on the page.

Whoever created this book definitely put some time into making this first page gorgeous.

With that he began to read the first part of the story.

Little did the blonde know that a new adventure far more dangerous than he could imagine waited for him.

This book was the first step towards that adventure.

So with that... That was the first chapter.

I know this is a little slow for the first chapter and I was making silly jokes and stuff, but I just wanted some fun word play and some context for this adventure and how this book is gonna be a big focal point, considering The Book Of Mudora is explained in Link to The Past being basically a historic story book of all the adventures that are in Hyrule, plus the other side of the book as well, but we'll get to that later.

I'm just warning you, that I am not as familiar with the RWBY series than most. But I wanted to try and make the Legend of Zelda stand out in the world of Remnant, because I think the idea of those two worlds mixing together is a fun concept, I'm gonna keep RWBY elements in this, but I want to mix it up as well.

Plus Zelda and RWBY have fun monsters to mix together with how giant some Bosses are in Zelda, along with some of the Grimm that are pretty big too. I'll admit that some Grimm look pretty strange, but so do some the monsters in Zelda so I'm not gonna put only one series down on some stuff.

As far as Characters go, this story is gonna be Jaune centric with the other 7 around him. I'm gonna use 3 others with him as main cast characters in this story (You can take a guess on who those other 3 are.)

But the other 4 are gonna be slightly main/side characters in this if I continue. I don't want to leave them out, so I will have them come in as time goes on.

Also don't worry, I'm not gonna forget the Villains considering this is gonna start around the Season 1-2 Era and go from there, so if any of you worry that Cinder and her gang is going anywhere, don't worry she's not gonna be out of the picture at all.

Now we get to talk about topic a hate deciding... Pairings, honestly I don't know how I want to do this, I'm thinking of this of either one or two ways with stuff like this, but I don't want this impacting the story where it will feel like a turn off. So I will try my hardest to make it the best god damn pairings I can!

Plus I think I might have a general idea at who I want as the main duo as the pairing.

However I am going to be straight up I'm not good at writing Yuri/Yaoi pairings so if your not into straight relationship stuff, I apologize in advance and I don't mean to offend.

I really like character interactions in a story and really want some to interact with others that are different from canon. I mean this is an AU for a reason. And character interaction is important, who knows it might help me look at certain characters in the show in a new light.

Finally... I might struggle to try and update every so often, I've got a tight schedule some days, but on a lighter note. I'm probably gonna make this a Rated M story as this continues on, there's gonna be some damage done to these characters and some swearing, it'll get pretty violent. But here's a deal breaker on this site: Lemons.

I'm gonna have to disappoint you all and say I don't want to write them on here , but I will write them on AO3, so... yeah if you want it I'll post it on there once the time is right.

Other than that, I have nothing else to say about this. I actually am excited to write this cause its been on my mind for a couple of months and I think the whole magical aspect of RWBY and Zelda interests me a whole bunch.

Sorry if this a bit long winded, I promise not to be so chatty in the next outro of this.

But with that, this Irongiant9000 signing out. See y'all in the next chapter!

Chapter 2: History of Hyrule
