The Fog

It was a typical day for Yang Xiao Long, a seventeen year old attending Beacon Academy. It was the weekend, time off from classes.

And after the whole incident with Roman Torchwick and the dream she had of what she thought was her mother, she could use a break.

She stretched her arms out and took in a deep breath.

"Huh… what can I do today?" She thought to herself.

Her sister Ruby was spending the day with their dog, Zwei. Blake was spending the day at the bookstore. Weiss was somewhere she didn't know of, but didn't care too much since it's not like Weiss would want to hang out with her anyway.

So, Yang had the day all to herself. Her precious Bumblebee was here, ready to be ridden as she decided she'll just wander around until she sees something that catches her attention.

She put on her helmet, sat on her motorcycle, and revved it up.

As soon as it started moving, her stomach grumbled.

"Huh… guess I found something to do…" She said with a mild smile before taking off.

She took off and headed down the street, seeing a place she's been to for breakfast. She stopped to grab a quick bite before paying and heading off.

As she left, there was a news broadcast.

"A mysterious fog has appeared out of nowhere in the streets. This odd weather pattern is noted for giving off strange readings. Citizens are advised to steer clear of it." The male reporter said.

Yang, having not seen that news report, hopped back on her bike and took off.

As she did, she looked over her shoulder and saw someone outside a store, looking at a dress in plain view. She stopped to speak to her.

"Yo, Pyrrah!" Yang went.

The top student turned her head and saw her acquaintance.

"Yang?"

"Looking for something to impress Jaune?" Yang asked with a cheeky grin.

Pyrrah turned red from embarrassment.

"N-No… maybe?" She said. As Yang chuckled, Pyrrah cleared her throat. "And you?"

"Just enjoying my time off."

"I see… in any case. I don't think Jaune would pay that much attention to a dress worn by me." Pyrrah admits sadly.

"Come on… you're pretty." Yang stated.

"True… but I think someone like you is more his interest. Or Weiss…" Pyrrah said sadly.

"True… but I'm not exactly planning to steal him… unless he agrees to fix my bike for me." Yang admits.

"Good to hear…" Pyrrah admits.

"Anyway… be seeing ya!" Yang said before winking and taking off.

"Bye." Pyrrah said with a small wave before sighing. "Maybe I should dress more like her?" She asks herself.

As Yang drove, she laughed to herself.

"Me and Jaune? Yeah right… well, he's kinda cute for a dork." She admits.

Her mind then drifted off to her current lack of a relationship.

Huh… been a while since I went out on a date. Most boys are too afraid of me because they're afraid I'll punch their teeth out. To be fair, I'd do that… Still, would be nice to meet someone…

She was too distracted to notice the fog up ahead. Once she went through it, she groaned.

"Dumb weather people… well… I guess I better speed up to get out of this…" Yang said to herself as she accelerated.

In another world

A fog was staying still, remaining on the road leading to Amity Park.

Having seen the mist going nowhere for the past 3 hours, Danny Phantom got curious. Flying towards it, he took a closer look at it.

"Weird…" He pulled out his phone and called. "Uh… Sam?"

"Not the time, Danny. I'm grounded for using my mom's credit card for concert tickets." She said over the phone.

"There's a weird mist or something outside of town. It's like Silent Hill out here… anything in your research from the Goth side of things on mists?"

"Hang on…" Sam said.

"SAMANTHA MANSON! Are you on the phone?!" Pamela Manson was heard shouting.

"Uh… No!" Sam called out before whispering. "Talk later…"

Danny frowned as his friend hung up.

His ghost sense then went off.

"A ghost?" He looked around. "I don't see-"

Suddenly, he's hit from behind with a backhand and sent flying away. Looking dazed, he saw a large trio of bear-like creatures.

They were pitch black with heads that had no flesh, only a skull and burning red eyes.

One of them got more aggressive as it snarled at him.

Steeling himself, Danny stood up.

"Good thing Sam's grounded, because she'd flip if she saw this." He said to himself.

That's when he saw a light coming from the mist, and the sound of a motorcycle.

One of the creatures approached Danny, making him aim a hand at them, ready to fire. He wanted it to keep its distance as he studied what was coming out.

The ghost boy gasped, he could not believe his eyes. What came out looked like a motorcycle, an orange sporty motorcycle. However, it was what was on it that really caught Danny's attention.

It was a blonde girl who looked to be older and taller than him. She wore a short sleeved brown jacket atop a yellow shirt, an orange scarf, short black shorts, some kind of brown skirt-like feature with a pouch, dark brown boots, orange stockings with one shorter than the other, a purple scarf on her left leg and black gloves with golden gauntlets.

She is also really pretty too, and with a very defined figure.

"About time… weird mist took forever!" Yang shouted in irritation as she looked around. "Wait…" She found the area completely unfamiliar. "This isn't Beacon!" She said in annoyance.

She pulled her helmet off, shaking to clear the hair out of her face. She then opened her eyes in Danny's direction, revealing them to be of a lilac color.

His hormones kicking in, Danny's arm dropped and he stared slack jawed at this mystery girl.

"Whoa…" He said under his breath.

His heart started to beat faster as his face turned pink from the cheeks.

Yang, having not seen the ghosts, took notice of Danny and approached him.

"Hey, kid!" She said, walking to him after she put her helmet on her motorcycle. "Where am I?!"

Danny, becoming aware she was walking to him, cleared his throat.

"Don't screw this up…" He muttered before taking notice of the gap between them shrinking. "Uh, hi!" Realizing he sounded too eager, he cleared his throat and saluted. "Hello, citizen."

Yang stopped roughly 2 feet away from him and found that gesture amusing.

"Citizen? What are you, a cop?" She asks with hands at her hips.

"A cop? No I'm…" It was then Danny noticed how casual she seemed, walking up to him. "Wait… do you not know who I am?"

"Is this some desperate attempt to hit on older girls?" She asks with a slight smirk.

"NO! No!" Danny said, his face turning red a moment. "I mean, aren't you-"

A guttural sound was made behind Yang, making the two look in that direction, seeing the creatures coming around her bike and coming towards them.

"Grim!" Yang shouted.

"Yeah, it sure looks that way…" Danny said, fists charging and unaware what she meant. "Step aside and I'll-" He saw the blonde already charging at the ghosts. "Wait!"

Yang did not listen to him, she was busy keeping her eyes on her bike.

"GET AWAY FROM MY BIKE!" She called out.

She was distracted as one of them backhanded her, sending her flying and sliding on the ground for 5 feet.

Danny gasped in shock before noticing she was glowing slightly before getting back up.

"What…?" He managed to ask.

"Ha! Come on! Our little Ice Queen's tougher and scarier than you!" Yang shouted as if challenging the ghosts. "Still… never seen Grim as ugly as these…" It was then she noticed Danny was now next to her, staring in disbelief. "Uh… now's not the time to eat eye candy here."

"How are you… what was that?!" Danny asks.

"What was what?" Yang asks before the creatures come running towards them. "Uh oh… talk later!"

Yang then, to Danny's surprise, ran towards the creature before pulling her upper body back and sliding between its legs before it could slash her.

She's brave, I'll give her that… Danny thought before remembering he had ghosts to handle.

Snapping out of it, Danny raised his hand and fired a ghost ray at the bear creature, getting its attention upon the feeling of painful energy hitting it.

Teeth chattering in anger, the bear came charging at Danny, with the other two following suit.

Yang stopped near her bike, looking back and seeing Danny shooting rays out of his hands.

"Huh… must be his semblance… still, better help this kid out." Yang said as she reached something she carried on her bike, which was left right behind her seat. "And I know just how!"

Danny blasts a ghost bear in the skull, making it stop and shake the pain away as the young superhero groaned.

"Okay… maybe something a bit more-"

"YEAH!"

Danny heard that as he saw that same girl he just met came jumping in, swinging her fist, which now wore a large gauntlet, and left hooked the creature in the skull.

He saw the grin on her face, the look of joy in her eyes, and it made his eyes widen.

Beautiful… He thought.

The ghost bear landed on its side as Yang landed on her feet.

"More where that came from!" She called out with an eager grin as her fists touched, ready for more.

Danny's wide-eyed stare became an eyes half-closed smile.

One of the other bear creatures approached Yang, ready to slash, but she swung her fist and what looked like a bullet came out of the gauntlet, shooting the creature in the head. It didn't seem to penetrate the bone-like exterior but it did irritate it.

Before it and the other bear could attack her, Yang jumped back, punching the air and shooting the creatures, the kickback pushing her away. Though unharmed, it did irritate them into following her.

Yang landed on her feet almost gracefully as the two started coming for her.

"Bring it!" She said as she came jumping towards them, swinging her fist, only to find nothing in her path. "Huh?!" She looked around, seeing them gone. "Where'd they-"

A growl was heard from above as she looked up. To her surprise, the two were flying in the air before they started descending, intent to flatten her.

That's when someone flew in and tackled the bears out of the air. That was Danny Phantom, using his shoulder as his means of hitting them.

"Back away from the super strong hot girl!" Danny declared.

As the creatures hit the ground, Yang only blinked in surprise.

"Wait… since when could they fly? And just… how did he fly?" She asked out loud.

It was then the mist that she appeared from disappeared. Once it did, Yang took another look at her surroundings.

This doesn't look remotely familiar. How far did that fog take me? She thought.

Her thoughts were cut short when the third bear got back up and snarled in her direction. It was about to charge after her.

Danny, having swung a kick in both creatures' faces, saw this and panicked.

"Hang on, I'll-"

His attempt to aid became unneeded, as Yang punched the creature in the head, knocking it out.

"YEAH! How do you like that?!" Yang went.

Danny blinked twice to make sure he wasn't seeing things before smiling.

"Wow… she's all over this." He says before being reminded of the snarling bears in his presence.

Yang wiped her hands clean and stood with fists at her hips, proud of her work.

"Well, now that that's done, I guess I better-" She looked up and saw something that caught her attention. "What the…?"

She saw the boy use a cylindrical device and somehow absorbed the creatures into it. Once he did that, he looked down in Yang's direction and pointed towards her.

"Behind you!" He called out.

Turning her head, Yang saw the bear getting back up. She was not afraid, as she had here fists ready and bobbed left and right like a boxer. Her hair swung back and forth along with her body.

"Want some more?! Well, I got-"

Yang's attempt to be intimidating was cut short when a green blast flew past her, singing some of her hair in the process.

Her eyes widened in shock upon seeing some of her hairs flying off.

The blast hit the bear beast, knocking it onto the ground and giving Danny the opportunity he needed.

"Time to head home! Don't worry, your porridge should be just right!" He said before firing the thermos.

Upon capturing the bear ghost, Danny sealed the thermos. Once he landed and smiled at it, he noticed Yang was standing still, deathly quiet as she was looking at the ground, where strands of her blonde hair were seen. Danny wondered why she was so silent until he came up with a theory for it.

It briefly hit her hair. I should have warned her what I was up to…

"Sorry about that… Thankfully it missed the rest of you." He started walking towards her. "Don't worry… it was low enough to not do serious damage and that bear was weakened enough to get knocked down." He was almost 2 feet away from her, looking up at her as to avoid his eyes going towards her chest. "Anyway, how di-"

He was cut off when her eyes opened and they went from the lovely lilac color to a burning red. Then her fist connected with his face.

"HOW DARE YOU!" Yang shouted angrily.

Danny was sent flying back, his head hitting the pavement before he rolled and came to a stop, landing upside down and looking at Yang, who panted heavily and started to calm down.

Danny got on his rear and nursed the slight pain to his chin.

"Never been hit like that before…" He saw Yang soothing the fist she hit him with, using her other hand. "She's kinda… cool…" He admits, sounding more smitten than before.

Yang noticed he was getting up and looked surprised.

"Huh… you're still in one piece?" She asks.

"Yeah… now, can you stop with-"

Yang quickly closed the gap between them and glared him in the eye.

"Don't… mess with the hair." She warned.

Danny, because of how close he was to her, felt his face turn bright red.

"S-Sure…" He said, both in concern for her anger and amazement in how beautiful she is.

As his heart beat faster, Yang turned around.

"Now… where am I?" She asked, looking around.

As she turned her back to Danny, he tapped her shoulder, a shoulder that had some hair on it.

"Excuse me? Miss?"

She turned around and grabbed his hand, squeezing it tightly.

"What'd I just say?!" She questioned harshly, her eyes turning red for a split second.

Danny gulped before phasing his hand out of her grasp.

"Sorry…"

Yang was momentarily at a loss for what just happened.

"Wait… how did you do that? In fact, how did you do… any of that?" She asks.

"What? Fight those ghosts?" Danny asks.

"Ghosts? What are…" She stepped back. "What's going on?"

"Look." Danny stepped forward. "I'm no-"

Yang fired a shot from her gauntlet, punching in the direction near Danny's feet and making him step back.

"Don't make me waste dust." She warned.

"Dust? What? You fired little pieces of dust at me?" Danny asks.

Yang frowned before throwing another punch, this time blocked by Danny raising his arm and using it to shield his face.

Yang was momentarily surprised before pulling back.

"What the heck are you?" She asks.

"A better question, how did you do that red-eyed thing?" He asks.

Yang shook her head before throwing another punch, which Danny caught.

However, Yang pulled back and punched Danny in the chest, while a dust bullet went off, launching Danny away. He ended up hitting a tree, breaking it in half before hitting the tree after, then sliding down it.

"Ha!" She went before going to her bike and putting her helmet back on. "Now, to find out where I am." She pulled a device out of her pouch and turned it on before pressing buttons on it. "Ruby?" There was no signal. "Huh…?" She pressed more buttons on it. "Weiss? Blake?" There was no answer. "Okay… weird… maybe the town can give me directions."

As Danny got up, he saw the motorcycle and girl who rode on it were gone. He then turned his head and saw her driving into town.

He sighed.

"When I dreamt about spending an entire day with a beautiful girl who can totally kick butt… it's like the world chose to make it 10% less the happiest day of my life." Danny said before his phone went off. He pulled it out. "Hello?"

"While I have time before my mom gets out of the shower… I did a quick research on what you said. It looks like your Silent Hill comparison isn't far off. One book I read on parallel world theories suggests the fog you saw from out of nowhere might have been a doorway to another world, probably the Ghost Zone." Sam said quickly.

"I don't think it led to the Ghost Zone." Danny said quickly as he had his hand where Yang punched him just now.

"How do you know?" Sam asks.

Danny looked to where Yang went and his face turned red.

"Call it a hunch…" He said before hanging up and following after Yang.

I meant to post this on April Fool's, but I decided to make it a bit longer than a one-shot.

This is also my first time featuring characters from RWBY and like 90% of the internet, I'm going for a pre-fall of Beacon story.

Danny Phantom and all related characters are owned by Nickelodeon/Viacom.
