You were 5 when your father decided you were a squib.

That you didn't have magic.

Because even Draco, who was only 3, started floating his toys around the nursery at only a year old. And you are 5 and your toys have yet to leave the ground.

When Lucius, because as he said, you aren't his daughter anymore, packed all of your clothes into a suitcase, you didn't flinch. After all, Malfoy's don't show when they are afraid. And your fathers rage is one thing you're truly afraid of.

You don't flinch when he shoves you into the hallway and sends a jinx at your feet so you tumble, you don't flinch when he screams in your face and spittle gets on your cheek.

You do flinch when the broken sobs of your mother reach your ears. Crying out for her baby girl who she will never see again. And when you turn the corner and see your mother, who has always been composed, who has never broken down, standing there with blotchy red stained cheeks, carrying a crying Draco. You realize you'll miss your mum. Because even though your father will become Lucius, your mother will always be your mum.

And your sweet baby brother Draco. Who was clinging onto your mothers robes for dear life, unsure of what is going on, you know you'll miss him the most.

You'll miss when he would come barreling into your room to wake you up, when you would play hide and seek throughout the manner. You'll miss the times you would cohere a house-elf to sneak cookies and milk just for the two of you, and you'll miss when the two of you would lay out in the gardens behind the bushes of white lilies and stare at the clouds.

So when Lucius grabs onto your shoulder and maneuvers you out of the only home you have ever known, you mourn the loss of your mother and brother. Who will never get to share the joy of magic with again. Who you will never get to tell about the bad teachers at Hogwarts or share a funny story about your charms class. Who you will never be able to guide through the joys of life and shelter him through the sorrows of it.

You'll never see your baby brother grow.

And that, you muse as your fath-no Lucius, steers you out of the manor and to the edge of the grounds where you have never ventured before, will probably be the worst thing.

When he turns you around to see your first and only home you have ever had for the last time, you lock your eyes with your brother. The same grey you have, the same shade and shape. You look at the platinum blond of your baby brother's hair that is a shade lighter than yours, but you both have the curls you share with your mother.

And as a tear falls down your cheeks for the first time that day, you feel the tug at your navel and couldn't help but wonder.

Will he ever know how much I love him?

———

Lucius drops you off with a lady named June. June has a husband, Arnold, and a set of 9 year old twins, Katie and Anthony.

June and Arnold are squibs. And their children are muggles. They live in a muggle town in the city of Southampton. They send you to Muggle school. They call it Primary school. And you suppose it could be worse.

You quickly find out that June is a lot like your mother in some ways and completely different in others. She gives affection freely. You can see that she loves her children unconditionally, which is very similar to your mother. The difference lies when you are in public. June doesn't care about giving affection freely while in public. She will give you a pat on the head and a hug if she wants too. You could sit on her lap at the table in a restaurant and fall asleep in her arms while at the park.

June, you come to realize, loves you. And you are unsure what to do with that bit of information.

While June is slightly similar to your mother, Arnold is completely different to your father...to Lucius.

He likes to ask about your day at school and will listen attentively. Helps you with your homework and listen to how it's hard to make friends at school when you don't know a lot of muggle things. So he helps you learn. He dotes on you with the kind of affection only a father could have. He is the push over parent while June is the stern one. He is the parent that could give you a talking down for throwing a tantrum and breaking Anthony's crayons, and then take the three of you out to get ice cream 10 minutes later.

You realize he loves you like a daughter. And you find that you are okay by this.

When you first come to live with the family of four Katie and Anthony are wary of you. Not quite very warm, but kind nonetheless. As the months go by the 3 of you grow inseparable and you quickly learn to love your older siblings. You learn how to be a little sister.

You learn when to go to Katie about a mean boy in your class, and you learn later that night at dinner that Anthony got his new Nintendo take away because he happened to hit a boy in your class. Coincidentally it was the same boy that you told Katie about earlier that day. You say nothing at dinner, but later when you know June and Arnold are sleeping, you slip into Anthony's room and put a chocolate bar you got from Arnold earlier in the week in his nightstand.

He doesn't mention it the next day and neither do you.

As the months go on, March 7th comes around the corner and you don't realize until it is your 6th birthday.

You get off the school bus with Anthony and Katie and walk up to your house, talking about something you did at school today when you walk inside the house.

Streamers are hung across the archway of the kitchen and a banner, that you could tell was homemade, was hanging above the door to the exit to the back yard.

It was then that you realized, as the birthday song you never sang with your old family, with the Malfoys, ended, these people who never faulted you for your rudeness when you came to live with them, who never threatened to hit you if you got a bad mark at school, who loved you unconditionally, this was your family.

Later that night when June is putting you to bed, she kisses you forehead in a way that your mother never did and says goodnight to you softly. You smile back and say, "Goodnight mum."

Neither of you said anything about the tears that slip down both of your cheeks. And nobody makes a fuss when you call Arnold dad the next morning. No one says anything when you stop talking about your baby brother. And you don't either.

———

You are seven when you find the little ball of vibrant green light inside yourself.

You were sitting with 11 year old Katie as she was guiding you through a meditation exercise she did during class. And through the soothing sound of her voice you see a flicker.

It's abnormal, and nothing Katie has described, but it is there. It's green. That was the first thought you had. Then you thought to examine it. It was a ball of energy and fun. It radiates happiness and joy.

Though most of the ball of electric green could be described as joyful another part could be shown as sad and unhappy.

Compared to the vibrant green of the ball, a dull grey encompassed a small corner of the ball.

Weeks later after you have gotten down the art of meditating. You find that the ball can expand and grow.

That you can make a small light appear in your hand. That when you want you can see lights appear outside when you're walking around London with your family.

You never mention this ball of light to your mum or dad. You don't know why but you only feel comfortable talking about it to Katie and Anthony.

As they are only 11 they don't understand what the ball of green is.

And a year passes and they forget about the ball of green light.

But you are unable to forget the ball of electric green that grows within yourself.

———

You are 11 when you get the shock of your life.

You were having breakfast on the morning of March 7th when a tawny owl tapped on the window above the kitchen sink. It had been almost 6 years since you had seen an owl. Especially an owl with a letter attached to it.

Your mum and dad are obviously surprised and your sibling recognizes the significance of the magic bird.

Dad stands up and walks towards the window. Opening it up, the bird swoops past him and lands next to my breakfast plate holding out its leg to me.

After a moment of hesitation you release the envelope for the owl's leg. Picking up a piece of bacon from my plate the owl takes off.

Siblings and father looking at the bird that had just flown out of the window didn't see the inscription on the letter.

On the top of such a letter was the name that you hadn't seen or heard in 6 years. My mum moved toward me and put a hand on mine. Only then you had realized that you had such a tight grip on the letter your knuckles were turning white.

When your mum released the envelope from my hand a sharp gasp left her mouth. It was then she turned to me and gaped.

Following that was a strange conversation between your parents and siblings that only left more confusion.

After all, your Hogwarts letter had arrived.

———

Late April a stern woman in a green cloak arrived at your doorstep. She introduced herself as a professor of Hogwarts and said that she would take you and your mum through Diagon Alley.

Hours later you and your mum left a wand shop with one extra wand that you hadn't had earlier.

Aspen and Thestral Hair, 12 inches.

———

On September 1st 1989 is when you meet the Weasleys.

A group of redheads that made their way through the crowd to the same train as you were going towards. As your mother takes your attention off the gaggle of redheads she leads you towards the compartment that you would be occupying. She sets your trunk on the rack above your seat, and makes sure that you're settled as you can be before leading you off the train again.

You give your parents big hugs, gripping them tightly as they kiss the top of your head. They reminded you of the conversation you had the night prior. Telling you that, even with magic, nothing would change.

They handed you off to your elder siblings who held you just as tightly. The twins, even at fifteen, could not hold back their tears as you let go of the hug.

Giving one last goodbye to your family you board the train as the whistle blows. Quickly making your way to your still empty compartment you lean your head out the window and wave goodbye to your family, the one that took you in, loved and raised you, for a long couple of months until christmas.

Nearly an hour after the train's departure the compartment door shoots open as a red bullet barrels in and plops on the seat across from you. Before this unannounced visitor, you had been sitting quietly reading one of your dads medical textbooks that you had found quite interesting.

You look up from your book startled. The red headed boy across from you has much the same reaction, as he thought no one had been in the compartment. Gaining his composure back quickly, he sent you a lopsided grin.

"Hello there miss. Very sorry to barge into your compartment that way I had not been expecting anyone in here."

"Um, it's fine." You responded quietly.

"I'm George Weasley, at your service." he said in a dramatic voice with a flourish of his wand sending off harmless sparks. On accident based on his face though.

Quickly introducing yourself, you moved back to my book and left George to whatever he had been getting up to before coming here. That didn't last very long.

"So what house do you want to get into?" George asks, giving me his full attention.

Reluctantly you closed your book and set it on the bench between the two of you.

"Either Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff probably." You responded.

"Humm, interesting, interesting. Well I myself am looking forward to getting into Gryffindor."

"Why do you want to get into Gryffindor?" You ask.

"Well because my entire family has gotten into it. Both my parents and all three of my older brothers. Fred and I, that's my twin brother, and wishing for Gryffindor to join the family."

"You have a twin, that's awesome! I have two older siblings that are twins."

And so for the next couple of hours you, George and Fred (once he had eventually found your compartment), spent the remainder of the ride getting to know each other and become great friends.

———

Later that night after an amazing boat ride and a crazy experience seeing hogwarts, the castle you thought that you would never see, in person was very surreal to you, you had ended up on the sorting hat.

Luckly Hogwarts had registered the change in guardianship so it did not announce Malfoy as your last name and were called with the P's instead.

So now you have spent that last five minutes discussing many things with the hat. And you had become a hat stall. Looking up under the brim of the hat to a set of weasley twins, one in particular, smiling and giving you a thumbs up. You took a deep breath and made a decision.

RAVENCLAW!

———

Hogwarts has given you many joys and wonders. Quickly you had climbed to the top of the class, only falling short one spot from one Cedric Diggory.

The academic rivalry the two of you shared was known throughout the castle. Many wondered why Cedric was not placed in Ravenclaw like you. The two of you didnt question it, just accepted it as a fact. And you knew that Cedric Diggory was more of a Hufflepuff than a Ravenclaw anyway.

The two of you grew close. Working together on projects in class when the both of you were way ahead of the material the rest of your year was doing. And even after school work the two of you would look up topics way above first year level.

In October you had an interest in runes and runic languages. So, after completing the assignments and class work of course, you both would shack up in the library and discover everything that you could about such topics.

In February, after half mastering reading through the basics of runes and dabbling in different runic languages, Cedric took an interest in Arithmancy and its different properties.

So for the next few months that is what the two of you studied.

Along with hanging out and discovering new things with Cedric, you would also spend some of your time with the two Weasleys in your year.

After spending the entire train ride to Hogwarts together the two of you were thick as thieves. Always playing pranks, either on eachother or on some of your other classmates. While some of the professors didn't appreciate it as much as the students (Mainly McGonagall and Snape), everyone else usually had a good laugh and were impressed by the spell work and intelligence that went into such pranks.

Even without the fun of pranks, you and the twins had quickly become best friends. Hanging out between classes in the courtyard, playing some pick up games of quidditch, and inviting Cedric to join the three of you when you would sit at the tree by the black lake during early mornings and long weekends.

When you were with the weasley twins plotting, you spent your time with Cedric. Outside of the academic relationship the two of you had you also had a very strong friendship. The two of you could be found around the castle talking, laying in the fields playing games, practicing flying with brooms that you borrowed from Hootch. It was safe to say that by the end of your first year the person you were closest to was Cedric.

And he could say the same thing about you.

Throughout your first year you spent many days laughing with Cedric, plotting with the Weasley twins, hanging out with the girls in your dorm room, and making friends with people from all houses.

All in all you thought that you had a wonderful first year.

Even if Cedric did end up beating you for the top spot.

———

In a blink of an eye your second year passed in much the same manner. Pranks with the Weasley twins, George quickly becoming your favorite, hanging out with Cedric (now studying the mechanics of different complex potions and the rigorous journey of becoming an animagus), and spending time with the girls in your dorm. As well as joining the Ravenclaw quidditch team as a chaser.

After joining your house's team, it seemed that the twins and Cedric had the same idea. So while the best of friends outside of the pitch, inside the four of you were ruthless and tried your very best to not let the others win. And even after a stunning defeat of the other team (depending on who was playing), the four of you would go to the kitchens, grab some snacks and sit by the lake well into the night. Chatting about amazing quidditch saves and the statistics for upcoming games.

The only big difference between this year and last happened to be that you had beaten Cedric for top stop.

———

You were 13 when you saw your brother again.

You had breathed a sigh of relief as you found yourself in the arms of your second favorite pair of twins, they could never beat out your older siblings.

And though you had visited them and Cedric over the summer like the summer before that, it had been a good month since seeing them.

Releasing them of their hug, you look over their shoulder at their younger siblings. Ron was pushing a trolley with all his Hogwarts things on it. Leaving George and Fred you made your way over to the younger boys and said hi to him. You had been introduced when you visited to borrow a year before and shortly after you had found out that the younger boy had developed a crush on you. It was kinda cute.

"Hey Ron, are you excited for this year?" You ask as you move to help him load up his trunk. Looking over you could see a light blush on his ears, matching his hair.

"Um, yeah I'm excited. I can't wait to go. After watching all of my brothers go, I'm glad that it's finally my time." He said slowly getting more comfortable as he went on.

After chatting for a few minutes you led him back to his family and went in search of mine to say my goodbyes.

Looking around searching for my family my eyes scan over a patch of blondes. And you froze. Looking at them it was so very surreal to see.

Lucius was the same. As snotty and bigoted as ever. To his left was my mother. She looked older with faint age lines, but she was no less beautiful. She was looking down at my brother and even though she had her mask on, you could easily see through the cracks. And then there was Draco.

My brother, oh how long since you had said that, he was the spitting image of my father. His blonde hair was slicked back, his back was straight and he had an air around him, one that said back off. Though you could see little bits of nervousness in the small hunch of his shoulders, and the way that his fingers were ringing slightly.

A tap on my shoulder came and pulled me out of my reverie. Kaite stood behind me with a confused look on her face.

"What are you doing just standing here? Come on mum wants to say goodbye." She started to pull me away but you stood in place for a moment. Tilting my head slightly towards the Malfoys and say quietly.

"That's them." Katie adopted a look of confusion but looked over to where you were gesturing. Her eyes widened and she scanned over the family of three. Looked at me and then pulled us both away towards ours.

"Just dont worry about them ok. You just do good in school this year, have fun, do some more of those pranks with Fred and Goerge and beat out Cedric for top spot again. Kiss a boy or two. And maybe make some friends that are girls, you really don't have any." She said as she stirred us through the crowd of people.

"I have friends that are girls." You reply meekly. She just gives me a look and hands me over to mum.

Saying goodbyes to my family you give them all big hugs and make your way to the train. Quickly finding my compartment that is still empty, the Weasley boys had not made an appearance yet. You lean out of the window and wave goodbye to your family ready to start your third year.

———

Most of the year you avoided him. Like the plague.

You tried to spend it the way you usually do. Pranking with George and Fred, hanging out with Cedric, making more of an attempt to hang out with the girls in your dorm and becoming close to one of them in particular. But he was always there.

You were successful at avoiding him…mostly, until you happened to get detention with him and three other Gryffindors.

It really wasn't your fault. You were just walking in the corridors to the common room when you accidentally stumbled across one of George and Freds pranks…and Professor Snape happened to be the recipient. So with you the only one present, or visible, you naturally got into trouble.

The detention slip you had gotten was at an odd time. Different from those that you would usually get from first year when you and the boys would get caught easier. Simply from a lack of knowledge of the castle. So at 11 you showed up at the main entrance, the oldest of the five kids there and walked down with Mr Filch.

Getting told that you would be serving your detention in the first place was unwelcomed. But serving that detention in the forbidden forest, well that had completely baffled you. Of course you and the twins have traveled there from time to time but it was always during the day and you were always very cautious.

Hagrid split up the children into two groups. You with Neville and Draco, and Harry and Hermione with Hagrid. Already you knew that this wouldn't turn out well.

The entire walk Draco had been goating Neville with taunts and mean things. Occasionally he would turn back to you when you would tell him to stop and be quiet. He would give you a weird look and continue on despite you telling him off.

All was going ok until you had taken your eyes off of the boys for only a minute.

Draco had snuck behind Neville and scared him. Frightened, he sent off sparks into the sky.

After scolding Draco for his immature behavior Hagrid switched Neville and Harry. Thinking him the lesser of two evils.

Continuing our walk, now without the distraction of Neville, Draco continued to study me. Only stopping when you would look over catching him.

Soon enough we found a trail of unicorn blood that continued to get bigger, and bigger. Telling the boys to get behind you and take their wands out, you continued forward hesitantly hoping that it was all nothing and that we would be safe.

We ended up stumbling upon an almost dead unicorn. The thing was losing its beautiful shine as the blood seeped out of it. But that is not what caught my attention. A raith, a dark figure, something was hovering over it sucking the blood out of the slowly dying unicorn.

Cautiously you grabbed the shoulder of both the boys and slowly started back away. Neither making a sound and both holding onto the cloak near your hip for safety. We were almost a safe distance away from running until Fang started barking.

The creature snapped its head up and looked at the two boys and you. Harry dropped his hand from my robe and clutched his forehead. Draco screamed and shot red sparks up into the air, falling back in alarm.

The creature slowly started to approach us. You pulled out your wand and pointed it at the figure. You sent off spells to try to get it away from us, but it merely batted it off. So, dropping to the ground, You conjured up all the knowledge you remember from living with the Malfoys and quickly drew up protective runes around the three of us.

The runes on the ground ran in a straight line barely three was on before Harry left off a scream. Quickly looking up you saw the figure inches away. Conjuring the green ball of light you push into the ground activating it. The creature was blasted off back away from the force of the runes.

Protection. Strength. And one you could not put a name to. It was a Malfoy family rune.

Grabbing Harry and Draco from the ground and starting running away from the unicorn, pulling Harry on my back when you realized he could no longer stand. DIstantly you could hear hoofbeats behind me growing smaller and smaller and we ran away from the clearing.

That night as you were walking back to the castle, after leaving the three Gryffindors to travel up the steps to their common room, you are left alone with Draco.

You spent most of the walk quiet. Both seemingly in your own heads, and you were content for it to stay that way.

"That was a Malfoy rune." You stumble slightly not expecting the small voice.

"What?" You replied confused. He let out a quiet sigh and turned to face you.

"The third rune, it was a Malfoy rune. Father taught me when I was five years old." He looks up at you with his big silver eyes. To anyone else they would think there was nothing behind those eyes. But you simply knew that wasn't true, afterall, you had the same ones.

"Hmm." Is the only thing you say. Not wanting to confirm or deny what he knew.

He took a breath and looked around for any portraits in the vicinity. Seeing none he looked back up at you and he said, "Are you my sister."

His voice was so small. You had not thought he remembered you, after all when you left he was only three. Looking down at him you take a deep breath before nodding.

He nodded his head. He looked you up and down in an unsure manner before straightening up.

"Well I must get to my common room, it is late." Draco continued walking a few more paces before you caught up to him.

"Wait, Daco stop." You gently touched his arm and turned him around to face you. "Is that it, that's all you have to say?" He clenched his jaw and put his hands behind his back and took a deep breath.

"Well, what would you like me to say to you?" He said with a blank look on his face.

You looked at him in disbelief. Your heart was slowly breaking in the hallway between the passage of the Ravenclaw and Slytherin common rooms.

"I haven't seen you since you were three and that's it. Draco please." You started tearing up and you were playing with your hands. A nervous habit you couldn't seem to kick.

"You are no longer my sister. You stopped being my sister when father took you from our home when you were 5. Please stop talking to me." Draco turned around and walked away, and this time you didn't try to stop him.

You stood in silence, shaking from the shock of the conversation you just had with your little brother. Your baby brother who, even when you tried so hard to forget because it hurt so much to remember, you couldn't forget, rejected you.

You could feel your heart shatter into a million pieces.

Somehow between breaking down in the corridor and the harrowing night you had you found yourself in the bed of one Cedric Diggory.

Cradled in his arms, you wept for the relationship that was lost, you wept for your first mother, whom you loved dearly, and for your father. Where before he tossed you out, was a loving and caring father.

You spent the night mourning the loss of your birth family, because after this, it was a loss.

Come morning, all the other boys in the dorm were gone and getting ready for the day when you heard a knock at the door.

"Cedric dear, could I come in please." Cedric said yes and Professor Sprout opened the door. Cedric started to sit up and give explanations as to why you were fast asleep on his bed, in his arms, in a different common room than you belonged to.

Professor Sprout simply lifted her hand to silence the boy and walked over the two teens on the bed. She pulled up a chair next to the two of them and sat down. She placed a hand on his arm in a comforting manner and started to speak.

"The other boys in the dorm told me what happened last night and I understand why she's here. Am I completely happy that she's in your dorm, no but after her night last night, the two of you will not get in any trouble." Professor Sprout leaned over and brushed away some of the blonde hair that had fallen in your face. "The two of you will be excused from any classes today. Spend the day with her and let her grieve. Take her outside as well and walk with her on the grounds."

Professor Sprout stood up from the chair and made her way back to the doorway of the dorm. "I will inform the other professor about this. If anyone gives the two of you trouble send them my way." Professor Sprout gave him one last smile before walking out of the dorm.

--

After the day you and Cedric had the rest of the year moved by in a more sedate pace. You eventually got used to seeing Draco and leaving him alone, though the tear in your heart was never fixed.

The twins spent time trying to cheer you up also with their pranks and inventing new tricks as well. Cedric, it seemed, was always there.

The end of the year it came to a surprise when Gryffindor won the house cup. Especially when four first years got points at the end of year feast.

Oh and Cedric beat you for top spot this year. And he would not stop rubbing it in your face.

———

Your fourth year was somewhat normal. Except for the chamber of secrets business. That was definitely not normal by any standards. But the rest of it continued like normal. Pranks with your boys, Beating Cedric for the number one spot, (Even if he did get you last year), and becoming closer to one of your roommates, Marley SinClair. Throughout your third and now fourth year you two had become the best of friends, and you hoped it would stay that way.

You spent more time together this year especially. People had suspected that the two of you were dating. But they could not be anymore wrong.

Something that you had confided to Cedric was that you suspected that you did not like boys. Something about it made you feel uncomfortable. He accepted it easily enough (even after kissing him to see if it would bring up any feelings, it didn't.)

You and Draco were still not talking, not even looking at each other if you were being honest. There was another attempt this year to speak with him, but it ended just as well as the last attempt so you decided that if he was not going to fight for it then neither were you.

———

Your Fifth year came O.W.L.S and extra studying. Especially into transfiguration. Though charms was your best and favorite class transfiguration was definitely a close second. And when the study of animagi came up…it's safe to say you took notice. Though you knew it was many years before you actually would achieve the change, it wouldn't hurt to study.

With the escape of Sirius Black there were more security measures at school. Though you hoped he would get caught soon, it was much harder to prank with your boys with all of them around.

You continued to have a good rivalry with Cedric even though it seemed that he would beat you this year. You would alway get him next year.

You had a serious talk with Cedric as well this year. A talk about the future, about what the two of you wanted. For him it ended with a well paying job and happiness, though he was not sure about kids. You knew you wanted yours to end almost the same, just yours including a wife and kids. So the two of you began to plan.

You and Marley became closer. Throughout your fifth year you grew to love her. And that thought..well it scared you shitless. But it was also exciting to see what would happen next.

———

The summer before sixth a letter came with good news that you had received 9 O.W.L.S. Your family was so thrilled, your family and Katie's boyfriend all went out to have a celebratory dinner before you left again for Hogwarts.

Your sixth year hit fast and hard. The triwizard tournament took up most of the beginning of the year prep. The thought of another school coming to visit was exciting for everyone. Everything was swept and clean. No tie or robe could be out of place for fear of getting yelled at for not being tidy. So everyone went a little crazy.

After October passed and the champions were announced…everyone became crazier. Especially your brother.

"Saint Potter. Gets everything that he wants. Of Course he would put his bloody name in the goblet, stupid tosser." You could hear him complaining about him from across the courtyard. You just rolled your eyes and continued on walking, used to tuning him out now.

But on other happy news Marley asked you out to it. Of Course you said yes only an idiot wouldn't.

The year had passed relatively quickly. You pranked with your boys, took bets with your boys, and hung out with your boys. All in all it was a good year for the three of you. You and Marley's relationship continued to grow. Of course there was backlash, but surprisingly it was mostly from the muggleborns who grew up with homophobia, the purebloods didn't care.

On the 24th Of June, you went to watch the final task. You had spent all year helping Cedric with his tasks and keeping his grades up in the stress of it all. You were his rock, just as he was yours. On the 24th of June you had gone thinking that October 17th was the worst day. The day your-the day Lucius threw you away because he thought that you had no magic. But on the 24th of June, you found that this would be one of the worst days of your life.

Wearing his quidditch jersey, a Hufflepuff yellow with Diggory emblazoned on the back above a number 7 you sobbed as you ran to the boy in yellow, and the boy in red. One shaking relentlessly from the torture, one sobbing over the other, one with a long deep cut down his left arm. The other, not breathing. Eyes looking at the world empty.

On the 24th of June you sobbed over the dead body of Cedric Diggory. You laid his head in your lap as the entire school watched in shock. You slowly closed his beautiful hazel eyes as his father let out gut wrenching sob after sob, clawing at the chest of his one and only son. You slowly leaned down and gave this beautiful boy a long kiss on the forehead as you felt a pair of arms wrap around you. You leaned back into the arms of your love as people continued to scream and cry and rage as they fully realized what happened.

On the 24th of June you died. But no one knew. Because it was not your lifeless body lying on the ground.

———

On the 1st of July you were called in for the reading of the will and testament of Cedric Diggory. Only you and his father were brought in. Things were given out and notes were read. It ended with you and a box of your best friends' things.

It started and ended with Cedric Diggory. Because inside the box was something that you had jokingly asked for. Something that the two of you discussed when you talked about the future. When you talked about growing old together as neighbors, when you spoke about how good of an Uncle Cedric would be. When you dreamt of forever, and you never realized that it wouldn't come. And until now, you never truly realized the depth of Cedric Diggory's love for you. Though his love did not exceed friendship, neither did yours for him, he loved you all the same.

He gave you hope for the future. A simple paper with a ritual on it. And a clear tube with something inside that was priceless to his father. Afterall you held the future of the Diggory family.

Inside the tube held a lock of hair. Freedly given by Cedric Diggory. And when this lock of hair is used in the right circumstance, it would create something incredible.

Your seventh year at hogwarts was pure torture. Your only saving grace was Marley. She was there with anything that you needed and was an absolute saint even when you happened to be a bitch. She was there, and that is when you knew.

Before you come, when receiving your Hogwarts letter you find out that you made head girl. Naturally to distract yourself you completely throw yourself into those duties.

Your boys continued to prank and eventually you joined them. The toad tried to stop it but because she didn't know that you were an accomplice, the pranks soon became easier to do.

This year you spent more time tracking Draco and looking out for him. The two of you didn't have a relationship, but to you, he was still your brother.

Classes were a breeze. You continued to look into animagi transformations, getting closer and closer by the second.

Eventually the twins left, in madness because there is no other way they would have left. You see them off, promising to visit them after school is over.

You continue to help the other kids in school. You and Marley join Dumbledors army. And even when they are not in session you both go back there to practice dueling. Her beating you more than you did her.

At the end of the year Ron and Hermione come running to you and Marley asking for your help with something. Saying yes you took off to the toads office and helped Hermione and Ron look out for Draco and his little gang. Eventually Draco and the toad catch you.

He gives you a disappointed stare. You just give him a worse one.

Being held back by fifth year was very unpleasant, you recall afterwards. Because most of the events before you get on a threstle is a blur. Both you and Marley climb onto one holding on tightly.

Truth be told the entire battle the Department of Mysteries is a blur. All you know is that Sirius Black is dead and now you have 2 scars on your body. One on your face and one across your chest.

The face is from accidentally taking a cutting cure from a death eater to help Neville. The second one is from jumping in front of Hermione. Marley is not impressed with you for either one.

The end result though seems to be a little worth it. People finally believe Voldemort is alive. Now the war was actually starting.

———

A couple days later you graduate. You were asked to give a speech. So now you found yourself standing in front of the entirety of your class ready to speak.

"In my first year I was scared, nervous and excited all in one. I think we can all agree to this. I made friends and found what love is and what it isn't. I found siblings in the people of the castle, and I found people that I also dislike. You know who you are." Laughter breaks out in the crowd.

"For the last seven years Hogwarts has been my home. And I bet it has been for all of you as well. This is the place where we truly found ourselves. And now we leave it to the younger kids who hopefully won't blow it up. I mean if George and Fred didn't do it…then there is hope." McGonagall seems to particularly like that one, wiping a tear off the corner of her eye.

"I'm sure that you all have seen the post the last couple of days. You know what that means. And right now we are leaving the safety of this place to go out into that world. I only hope that everyone here will be able to come back in 20 years and say that we did it but I know that is not true." The entire audience was silent. All previous laughter is gone.

"Now this speech goes out to one person in particular. My best friend and brother in all but blood, who would have sat in seat 5 in row two. Cedirc Diggory, the bastard probably would have tried and might have been successful in stealing the top spot from me but truly I will never know" I give a sad smile and I am ready to finish.

"To everyone here, thank you for making my Hogwarts years truly magical."

That year you found yourself at the top of your class. And for the first time Cedric Diggory was not behind you.

———

A year had quickly passed since you had been out of school.

You and Marley had found an apartment together in muggle london. You were taking an apprenticeship for runes and excelling very well in it. You had also been talking to Professor Flitwick about getting your charms mastery after getting your runes.

Marley had been doing good as well. She had been doing well as a healer trainee, excelling quicker then all of her classmates. And you couldn't be any prouder.

The twins were probably doing the best out of all of you. Their shop was booming, and though you never had any doubt that they would do amazing, you always worried for them. Being right in the heart of magical London and being big supporters of Dumbledor and the light side, you just hoped they would be safe. So you believed them.

You and Marley kept up with your dueling, inviting the twins whenever they had the chance to come over. The scars on your face and chest was a reminder that even so far away, it was not over.

But the year continued on as it does. You kept in touch with your family. Seeing them as often as possible, always being careful not to link yourself to them in any way magically.

Katie and Anthony had been doing well in University. Katie is studying social economics, whatever that means. And Anthony is studying to become a History teacher. They had graduated this year and were very excited to see them off.

Anthony and his fiance, Sarah, come to visit often. Anthony had moved close to our apartment as his first teaching job was near.

Katie rarely visited, living further away as she continued her studies, but she always made an effort to call me whenever she had the time

So life had been pretty ok, until Dumbledor died. Then that is when the war really started.

———

You and Marley had been invited to Bill and Fleurs wedding.

You arrived with the rest of the guests. Both of you dressed up for the occasion, with the added engagement ring on your left finger. It had happened a week ago, and the two of you were still in a state of bliss.

The wedding was beautiful. Fleur's dress was spectacular and Bill couldn't take his eyes off his new wife.

The two of you were dancing when it happened. Chaos erupted immediately and you had gotten away as quickly as you could.

Marley's back had been struck and she talked through healing her. Once you healed her up good enough you helped her into the bathtub to clean off the blood.

Leaving her alone you walked back into the kitchen to get yourself some water. Her blood was all over your kitchen table.

———

After that you cut off all contact with your family.

You had sent them a post the muggle way and said that war had broken out and keep away to stay safe. Reluctantly, they listened.

———

You and Marley tried to keep to yourself as much as you could.

Besides leaving for apprenticeships and training you never left the house, never talked to anyone, never did anything in fear of getting caught by His men.

And it worked. It worked for almost a year until they found you.

It was the last week of March and you had been home all day. Your Runes mistress let you go this week to spend at home resting with Marley. She had said you'd been working hard and deserved a break.

After this you would probably punch her in the face.

You were sitting reading a book when they broke down your wards. You quickly ran to your room and closed your muggle safe you had enhanced with runes and spells you learned from your apprenticeship. The safe contained all of you and Marleys most valuable things, along with the gifts that Cedric had bestowed you. The safe closed, you pressed the rune under your night stand that would alert Marley what happened. A second later you were whisked away.

Opening your eyes, your breath caught. You never thought that you would be back to the manor after he took you away from here.

Taking you inside you heard the sound of screams even from the entrance hall. They dragged you to the drawing room. And once you arrived they threw you down onto the floor.

The sounds of the screaming stopped for a moment, followed by a short cackle and a scratchy and throaty voice.

"Well, well, well what do we have here? Another toy perhaps." Looking up I can see the crazed eyes of one Bellatrix Lestrange. "Well bring her here next to the mudblood."

The two men who kidnapped me dragged me next to the woman who had just been screaming. They set me down on my knees as Bellatrix grabs my hair and pulls it up.

"Well tell me little pet what secrets did you take with you?" She asks, gripping my hair tighter.

"What?" You question, still very confused as to why you were here.

"What Malfoy secrets did you take with you when he threw you away." My eyes widen as she starts to crucio me.

Later after many rounds of crucio, you wouldn't know how many you had lost count. You were laying on your back looking over at the woman who laid panting next to me. After she would finish a spell on one she would throw it to the other. Hermione. You had come to recognize her staring into my grey eyes trying to hold on tightly as Bellatrix carved into her arm. Blood was dripping from my right thigh where Bellatrix was just carving as well. You could only guess what.

Behind you, you could hear the whimpers of your mother. You had not gotten a glimpse of her yet. But you heard her voice. Her sweet voice that used to sing me to sleep, tell me stories and would soothe me, raw from crying out at Bellatrix telling her to stop, to let me go.

Bellatrix did neither.

Suddenly a shout came from the dungeons. Ron and Harry came charging from the dungeons attacking the snatchers and Bellatrix. You could see Hermione next to me being hauled up on her feet. The knife that had been just carving in her arm held to her throat.

As this was happening you made eye contact with Draco. He slowly made his way over to me. Out of nowhere Dobby came and broke the chandelier, in all the commotion Draco scooped me up and ran over to Harry.

"I contacted Marley. There is a coin in your pocket that you can use to communicate with her. Be safe." He whispered to me hurriedly as he came closer to Harry. You stared at him in confusion, he had not said a word to me for 6 years and suddenly he was saving my life, while also endangering his.

"Potter." He said. Harry spun around wand ready to fire and just saw Draco with me in his arms. Draco started extending me and said, "Take her." Harry hurriedly did so. And in a moment you were tucked safely in his arms. Harry looked down at me and then up again at Draco.

"Why?" Harry asked as he inched closer to Ron and Hermione.

"Because she is my sister." Draco responded before running to his mother.

Looking over at where Draco went you make eye contact with your mother for the first time since you were 5. And as you begin to pass out and before you are spun away into the unknown, you can't help but notice how much the two of you look alike.

———

After getting to Shell cottage and regaining consciousness the first thing you do is contact Marley. The second is to find the three teenages and give eachone of them a hug.

The third is having to explain your life, and how you were related to the malfoys.

"So Lucius just gave you away because he thought that you were a squib?" Harry asked. You just shrugged.

"Yeah pretty much. And I was only five, still two more years until you can even assume someone is a squib." They all made faces at that. "I mean it's just the truth. With inbreeding it would be surprising if the same thing happened to the other families."

The fourth thing was to look at your leg. So now you stood in your bedroom hand on your right thigh as you uncovered the bandage. And in crude carving was the word MALFOY.

So now, you truly never could forget.

———

A month of healing later and you were almost ready to leave the house. Marley had come only two days after you had messaged her from the coin. You still didnt know how Draco had gotten the coin to Marley, and she was similarly puzzled.

The night before you had heard a ruckus in the house and just rolled over and gone back to sleep. Comforted by the thought that Shell cottage was covered by a fidelus, now you wish you had gotten out of bed.

In the middle of the night Harry, Ron and Hermione had snuck out to merlin knows where. George and Fred would kill you for losing their brother.

———

They had only been gone a day.

They had only been gone a day and somehow broke into Gringotts bank.

They're insane.

———

On May 1st at 9:27pm the Order was called.

You and Marley had joined out of school but stuck with the fact that while you could fight you would much rather be spies. And so the two of you became spies. But today was not the day to be a spy.

At 2:35am on May 2nd Voldemort called off the fighting. On May 2nd at 2:43am you died a second time, only this time you had one of your boys with you. The other laid on the ground surrounded by family that loved him very much. A smirk etched on his face even as no joke spilled from his lips.

On May 2nd at 2:55 you sobbed in relief as your fiance wrapped her arms around you. On the other side of the great hall Remus Lupin and Nymphadora Tonks' cooling bodies lay as Harry Potter closes their eyes, and makes his way to Dumbledors office.

On May 2nd at 5:57am you sob with Ginny and your old transfiguration professor, as the body of the boy you cared for was carried by Hagrid into the courtyard outside the great hall.

On May 2nd at 6:03am that same boy rolled out of Hagrid's arms and fought Voldemort.

On May 2nd at 6:47am Voldemort's body dropped dead, defeated by Harry Potter.

———

You were 23 when you married the love of your life.

After the war you two wasted no time trying to get married, not wanting to waste a single moment. Your sister, Hemione and Ginny were your bridesmaids, with George as your ring bearer.

Draco, after the war you had sorted out most of the troubles between the two of you, you would never be as close as siblings but you were getting there. He was also involved in the wedding. As a Malfoy affiliated with Malfoy magic and rights giving a blessing that magic could not break. A blessing from family.

You had your wedding on the SinClair grounds. A beautiful field filled up with chairs and tables. People laughing and dancing the night away, you and your wife loving every single moment.

Though at the end of the night, as you wife, her family and yours were seeing everyone out, you went over to the place you two had just wed. Looking at the rows and rows of seats you take up a spot in the front row next to two chairs that had remained empty throughout the entire service.

Looking up at the sky you swore you felt hands grip each of your as you saw two stars twinkling.

———

You were 25 when you purchased your first house.

It was a large home, and the two of you had been saving up for years for this opportunity. It was on a large amount of grounds which you fed your magic into and it was the perfect place to build a life that the two of you wanted.

———

You were 27 when you and Marley had your first baby.

Cedric's gift did end up coming in handy, and you thank everytime that you held your little boy that he left you those hairs and that ritual. You and Marley agreed that the two of you would keep it in a safe locked away until the two of you wanted to have another.

The boy was a perfect mix of you and his father. Blonde hair and hazel eyes, with your delicate features and his fathers nose. You cried for a while after seeing your boy's eyes. Your very own Cedric Arnold SinClair.

———

You were 31 when you had completed your 5th mastery.

Runes, Charmes, Transfiguration, Arithmancy, and now Potions.

You and your now family of four celebrated by going out to eat at your sister in-laws place.

Anthony did eventually marry Sarah about two years after you and Marley had gotten married. But they definitely did not wait to have any kids. Open for just a couple of years, Piers, was known for its amazing cuisine and the lovely family of four that resided above the restaurant.

Making your way into the restaurant you are surprised to see both your parents as well as Katie in the restaurant. Kissing your wife on the cheek you move to say hello to your family.

After closing up the restaurant for the night your entire family comes and has a night with just the Piers. Later in the night just as the kids were sent off to play in the apartment upstairs you hear a knock at the restaurant doors. Turning you see Draco and his family outside the door.

Smiling, you get up from the table and let them in. Giving your brother a kiss on the cheek you grab Scorpoius from Astoria and give him a big kiss and squeeze him in a hug.

"Don't squeeze the life out of him." Draco playfully teases as he passes me to say hi to my family and grab my six month old daughter out of Marley's arms.

"As if you aren't doing the same." You say rearranging Scorp in my arms.

"Yes, well you happen to make cute children, what can I say."

"Hey I made that one." Marley smirks at Draco. And he smiles back.

"Isn't that what I said?" After hellos you all sit at the table and continue your meal, now with the three added Malfoys with Holly, my daughter, in Draco's arms content that your entire family is here.

———

You are 36 when you make peace with Narsicca Malfoy.

For years after what happened at the manor Narsicca had been avoiding you. Not that you could exactly blame her, you would have probably done the same. But for 13 years now you and Draco had been on good terms and she still avoids you.

Until you corner her.

It was just a random Thursday when you saw her at the ministry. You actually cornered her in a corner of the lifts going to the main room of the atrium and invited her to your home for tea.

She accepted.

You apparated her to the edge of the wards of our home and you let her in. She walked with you silently through the gardens up the path to the house. You opened the door and were bombarded by the kids.

All three of them asked who the lady was and why she looked like me. You could tell she was getting overwhelmed. So you asked Cedric who was now nine to take Holly (five) and Elias (two), to play with them somewhere else and you would join and answer questions later.

After sitting down and serving the tea and getting situated she started talking.

She told me how my home was beautiful, and even when you responded that Malfoy manor was far more she told me that it wasn't. Simply because Malfoy manor felt like that, a manor and this place felt like home.

You couldn't hold in your smile for that one.

Soon enough we got talking. You told her all about your kids, how smart Cedirc was, how spunky and outspoken Holly was and though Elias was quieter than your other two you loved the small ways he made your family smile.

Eventually she had to leave and you once again found yourself on the edge of the wards with your mother seeing her off.

At the next dinner at Piers, Narsicca could be found sandwiched in between Holly and Scorpius.

———

You were 38 when you sent your first kid off to hogwarts.

There were many tears from all five of you as you squeezed him tightly. You couldn't imagine how your parents did this many years ago. Looking down the station you could see George and Angela saying goodbye to Freddy, as he was going off to his second year.

Looking around you could see other families as well. The Potters with James going off to his second year as well. The two other little Potters attached at his hip not wanting to let go. Lee Jordan with his family. Alica Spinnet with hers. And all around you, you could see the different faces of the people you went to Hogwarts with, it was a bit surreal.

Just as the train whistle blew you grabbed onto Cedric's shoulder and bent down in front of him and looked him in the eye.

"Ced, I just wanted you to know that it doesn't matter what house you get into. Alright, just do amazing things in school, make friends and have fun." He just gave you a big smile and hug and ran onto the train.

Looking over you could see him leaning out the window waving down to the four of you. You just gave him a big smile and waved back.

———

You were 45 when you found out Elias was a squib.

You and Marley had been suspecting it for a while, but you knew from experience not to make assumptions. And then his eleventh birthday passed without any sign of a Hogwarts letter. And then none again the next day, and then again then next.

After penning a note to McGonnigal and getting the response you hoped you wouldn't, you sat your baby down and told him.

He asked if you were going to give him away.

So you told him your story, and told him that he was your son and that you would never do such a thing.

That day all five of you sat on the couch, drank hot chocolate and watched movies. With knowing that even without magic that you loved each other.

———

You are 53 when Lucius dies.

You don't go to the funeral.

———

You are 57 when you become a Grandma.

Cedric had married Lily Potter the year before and you loved the girl and told Cedric that you would be waiting for a grandchild. Well you did not have to wait that long.

Little Carina SinClair sat in your arms full of strawberry blonde hair and hazel eyes. The most beautiful little girl you had ever seen.

———

You were 62 when you found out that George retired from the shop, handing it over to his son Freddy.

You joined him on his last day as he wiped down the counters and closed up for the last time before handing the keys to Freddie. You then took his hand as he apparated to Fred's Grave. It was in the Weasley cemetery, access could only be allowed if accompanied by a blood relative.

You both sat down at his grave. You held each other's hands as you looked at his stone.

Mischief

Next to Fred's plot was another empty plot. It was being saved for when George passed. All around Freds graves were empty plots that would be filled by the seven Weasley children and their partners. On your right just in your field of vision were the gravestones of Arthur and Molly Weasley, who passed together in their sleep one night.

The two of you held each other's hand all through the night surrounded by the loved ones you had loved and lost.

———

You were 76 when your first child passed.

For many months Holly had been suffering breast cancer and even with the magical and muggle remedies the cancer was too aggressive to survive.

So at 45 Holly Weasley died in her sleep surrounded by her husband Louis and two kids, Katlin and Max.

Three days later Katie Piers died of a heart attack.

She did not have a partner and had no kids in her life, but did own a kitten that Louis ended up taking in to cheer up his kids.

Both funerals were sad and heart wrenching, especially for you.

You loved your daughter with all your heart and though you and your family knew for some time that she would pass it did not make it any easier.

Katie was the person to you that you looked up to growing up. She was your older sister.

You didn't know how you were going to outlive both.

———

You were 87 when you discovered why you had the green orb inside you.

The green orb as you had discovered years ago was a placeholder for magic, and everyone had it inside of them whether they knew it or not.

You realize that when Lucius Malfoy sent you away from your home at the age of five you were in fact a squib and under his tender care you would have continued to be one. The only reason you were not was because of Katie. And her help, unintentional as it was, was what unlocked your magic.

———

You were 93 when you discovered a way to cure squibs.

The magic that squibs had, you found out, was just locked away. And the action of meditating it basically massaging it would open up the lock and let the magic out. You had just been lucky enough to do it before your Hogwarts letter.

Soon with the help of her kids she opened up a school to teach all young magic users how to tap into their magic and let it loose.

And at the age of 59 Elias SinClair did magic for the very first time.

———

You were 104 when George Weasley Passed away in his sleep.

It had been unexpected. George seemed to have perfect health up until his death. But it seemed that the passing of his wife four months prior had declined his health.

Months before, George Weasley did something you never expected. He gave you the right to pass into the Weasley cemetery without the help of a blood relative.

So a month after his funeral, after you happened to pass by his shop now being managed by his Grandon you decided to visit your best friend.

Apparating to the Weasley cemetery you let yourself in and walked around surveying all the graves until you found the one you came to visit.

Mischief Managed

———

You were 112 when the statue of secrecy was lifted.

At first it was very rocky. Muggles were very hesitant of Magical folk and it was the same the other way around.

This movement to lift it started when Minster Hermione Granger-Weasley was in office and it was put in place by her daughter. Minster Rose Malfoy only years later.

You were just sad that Hermione was not around to see it herself.

———

You were 118 when your wife died.

You knew it was going to be her time soon. She would often be found sitting and staring off into space. Mumbling names that had not been alive for years. Saying something that you had done years ago.

The healers said it was alzheimers.

In her last moments you could remember her vision clearing and her looking at you and smiling.

"I have loved you for so long my love. And that will transcend whatever is next."

———

You are 121 when Draco Malfoy dies.

The two of you had been living together for the last couple of years. Both of you partners had passed away already. You were on great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren last time you had seen the family.

You held his hand when he took his last breath on the grounds of the Malfoy home surrounded by the garden in the white lilies you would play in as children.

You were not saddened by his death as all the others. You knew he had lived out his full life and that he held on for as long as he could.

Though nothing is to say about the single tear that ran down your cheek.

———

You were 125 when you passed away surrounded by family.

It was a peaceful day and your Grandson had spent the day before getting the family together for the celebration the night prior. 125 years was long for even witches and wizards.

You had made it a single day into 125 when you felt that it was your time to go.

So you took your last breath in the same garden as you and your brother used to play when you were children. Surrounded by generations upon generations of family.

———

You opened your eyes to see the same color reflected in the eyes in front of you.

Draco Malfoy looking in his early 30's smiled at you.

You took him all in. The same grey eyes that you had, the hair both blonde but he had a shade lighter, you both inherited your mothers curls and her beautiful smile.

You smiled back at him and looked behind him to see all the people that had passed over the years. You set your eyes on him again as he spoke.

"Hey Lily."
