In the seven years since he arrived in this world, his purpose has been to fulfill his responsibility as a guardian. While Emiya Shirou met most of Elysia's material needs, he also devoted himself to reading numerous books on culture and knowledge. This included studying the political structure and geographical composition of the world.
This endeavor aimed not only to enrich Elysia's mind with knowledge but also to understand the fundamental aspects of this world. Before Emiya Shirou was summoned to this world by the "Mother Simulator," the assistant lady informed him that the simulations would not be set in the player's current world. If the assistant was truthful, it meant that the world he currently resides in should not be the same as the one in Nagazora City.
Initially, when Emiya Shirou saw the name "Nagazora City" on the world map, he thought the assistant lady was playing a prank on him. Fortunately, except for a few familiar place names, there are significant differences between this world and the world where his physical body resides.
For example, in this world's culture, people generally do not have surnames. Moreover, the plate tectonics of this world include an additional continental plate called "Mu" in the area corresponding to the Pacific Ocean of his original world. Additionally, the level of civilization and technology in this world far surpasses the two worlds he has experienced. This becomes evident as even a seemingly small town like Vostok-51, surrounded by forests and farmland, offers excellent living conditions.
From the residents' basic needs to the municipal facilities and public welfare institutions like welfare homes, everything demonstrates a high quality of life. The relatively prosperous living environment, free from excessive competition, contributes to the town's residents having high moral standards. The relationships between neighbors are friendly and harmonious, and irreconcilable conflicts are rare.
According to Emiya Shirou's original plan, after completing preschool education, Elysia would soon be ready for elementary school. Despite her outgoing and well-behaved personality, Elysia has never actually attended school. While Emiya Shirou can provide her with basic education, he considers finding a way to enroll her in school, if possible.
Coincidentally, at this opportune time, Elysia proposes the idea of learning archery and sword skills. Before sending her to elementary school, Emiya Shirou thinks it might be beneficial to find a training institution where she can join interest classes and adapt to a group learning environment.
"If you want to learn archery and swordsmanship, I support you," Emiya Shirou nods at Elysia, who is seated across the table. "Today, the afternoon is quite free. If you don't have any other plans, I can take you to the training ground in town first. If they don't offer the courses you want, I can find a coach for you. Would you like to sign up for a class?"
"Oh?" Elysia is momentarily taken aback. She then slaps the dining table excitedly and stands up. "No... no! That's not want I want!"
Emiya Shirou furrows his brow, genuinely perplexed and unable to grasp Elysia's distress. "Didn't you say you wanted to learn swordsmanship and archery?"
"But... But what I want to learn is what mom does!" Elysia vigorously shakes her head, her pink hair creating a fuzzy fan-like shape. "If it's not mom teaching me, I don't want to learn those movements!"
"Even if I'm practicing archery and swordsmanship," Emiya Shirou says, even more confused. "If you want to learn those movements, it's better to have a professional coach teach you, isn't it?"
"It's different! Mom! Don't take me for a fool!" Elysia places her hands on her hips, pouting like an indignant squirrel. "The movements taught by the coach are completely different from the ones my mother performs during serious fights!"
"What's the difference?" Emiya Shirou inquires.
"Of course, they're different! The coach teaches other children physical exercises, but Mom, the movements you do are only used when you're seriously fighting!" Elysia asserts, her pink pupils fixed on Emiya Shirou's eyes.
These beautiful eyes, usually filled with laughter and sincerity, hold an unusual seriousness at this moment.
The silence lingers, and for a moment, Emiya Shirou's gaze blurs. It feels as if Elysia has transformed into someone unfamiliar.
After a long pause, Emiya Shirou is the first to yield under Elysia's penetrating stare. He averts his gaze in embarrassment and slightly closes his eyes.
Lying is not his forte. He neither defends his actions nor denies Elysia's words. Instead, he poses a different question, indirectly acknowledging her judgment. "Why do you want to learn something like that? You've never been the kind of child who enjoys disputes or fights with others, have you?" Elysia doesn't provide a direct answer to Shirou Emiya's question. Instead, she counter-questions sharply, "I've never seen my mother fight with anyone! So why does she practice those movements alone at night?"
"Because..." Emiya Shirou begins, sighing deeply, his voice weak. "We are two different people. What I want to do is different from what you want right from the beginning."
"In that case, what does Mom want to do?" Elysia asks.
Emiya Shirou remains silent in response, raising his right hand to cover his eyes, and gently rubbing his forehead.
Unhappy with Emiya Shirou's silence, Elysia glares at him. However, seeing his dejected expression, her initial determination softens. Her heart, which was not initially firm, instantly melts.
Just as she is about to be the first to back down...
"Alright, if you truly want to learn how to fight from me... I agree." Emiya Shirou suddenly regains his resolve, meeting Elysia's amber gaze with an intensity akin to an eagle's.
"When should we start?"
Elysia's eyes shine brighter than ever.
"Right now!"
