Chapter Three Hundred and Eighty-Four
Pre-Meeting Husband-and-Wife Time

Casey Kitchen – Walking over to the back door of his and Gabby's home, Matt smiled as he looked down at Andy who was currently at his feet and just waiting for him to let him out so that he could go to the washroom. And that's precisely what Matt was more than ready to do, due to the fact that it was what he needed to do; unless he wanted something else to happen. But just what might that be? Well, that would be them having a doggy-sized accident here in their home, which is something that most certainly will not help Matt in getting any attention from the woman he loves. So, he was going to make sure that didn't happen (while also continuing to drink the coffee that he made upstairs). "C'mon Andy, let's put you outside so that you can go to the washroom." Andy agreed with Matt, before watching as he opened the door to let him go outside; he then ran out so that he could go. Meanwhile, Matt smiled due to the fact that it was a nice sight. The sight of his dog rushing outside, so that he can just go have fun in the backyard right now.

Because if there was one thing that he knew, it was that his dog needed to have fun at times, rather than just work all the time. If he didn't have fun at times, then he could get too stressed; and that was the last thing that Matt wanted for his dog, as he didn't want him to suffer. And the truth is, that was just something that made Gabby love her husband even more; as he cared just as much about their service dog, as one of their own children. And that's due to the fact that Matt sees Andy as just that, one of his children whom he has to raise just like his other children. He has to help him to go to the washroom, to feed him, and just make sure that he's healthy for the rest of his life. But now that he's taken care of Andy, he needs to do something else, which is to start making breakfast for him and his wife. So, he made his way over to the fridge so that he could figure out just what he can make. That was, until he heard Camila come downstairs. "I thought we agreed that I was going to be making breakfast today, ahead of you working?" Matt snickered.

After all, that was something that she said that he would do; not that he would really expect her to do just that, but that didn't mean that he didn't appreciate it. "Camila, you don't have to do that." Camila shook her head as she made her way over to her son-in-law, before smiling as she hugged him this morning. "Morning." Matt agreed with Camila, while wrapping his arms around her and hugging his mother-in-law. "Thanks." Camila smiled as she heard Matt say that. "So, what are you making for breakfast?" Matt snickered, as he still didn't believe that she was going to make breakfast for the both of them. "Oh, you're being serious. You really do want to make breakfast for myself and Gabby." Camila agreed with Matt, as that was precisely what she wanted to do; she wanted to make breakfast for him and Gabby, so that they can relax ahead of them working. "I want to make sure that you guys relax, ahead of you guys working all day." Matt sighed as he heard Camila say that, before grabbing his coffee so that he can walk over to the bar.

The bar where he was going to sit, as he used his iPad. "OK. Well, if you're making breakfast, then you're not going to say anything about what I'm going to do." Camila was confused as she heard Matt say that. "Two questions: (1) What do you want for breakfast and (2) what are you talking about when it comes to what you need to do on your iPad?" Matt sighed as he made his way up to the bar, tugging out the stool that he was going to be sitting on this morning while giving Camila the answers to her questions; just after he does something else. "First, I just want to thank you for all you do for us. And I truly mean that Camila." Camila agreed with Matt as he said that, just smiling as she made her way over to the fridge. "And I could easily go for some egg wraps, as that was what I was going to make." Camila agreed with her son-in-law as he said that. "With or without bacon?" Matt then thought about it, as that was something that he's never put on a wrap. "I never thought about putting it in a wrap." Camila agreed with her son-in-law.

She then proceeded to grab the bacon, which she was going to cook fresh for them; because there's nothing better than the taste of fresh bacon when you have breakfast, as that's precisely what they want to have. They want to have as fresh a breakfast as possible. "By the way Camila, I hope that I didn't wake you up." Camila sighed. "I haven't been able to sleep that well for the past couple days anyways." Opening his iPad, Matt was about to enter his passcode so that he could check his e-mails; until something told him that he shouldn't. Rather, he should just concentrate on speaking to his mother-in-law at the moment; so that they can see just what's wrong right now. "OK. I am not sure what's wrong, but I can tell that something's on your mind Camila." Camila sighed as she went to turn the stove on, before putting olive oil in the pan rather than cooking spray; something that they do as it is much healthier for the family. "I guess, I am just worried that I let my kids down." Matt was confused as he heard Camila say that. "Why?" Camila just sighed.

She then proceeded to make her way back over to the fridge so that she could grab the rest of the things that she needs to make breakfast, while also answering Matt's question. "I feel like I let them down, after ending the relationship with their father again." Matt was shocked as he heard Camila say that, as he knew that wasn't the case; especially for Antonio, who was never a fan of his parents getting back together. They just agreed not to tell them that, as they wanted them to lean that they aren't supposed to be together themselves; but he now feels like he should tell Camila that, so that she doesn't feel as bad as she does at the moment. "Camila, I need to tell you the truth; the truth when it comes to what we've been thinking lately." Turning her head, Camila was confused as she finished grabbing the eggs, wraps, as well as the cheese that she was going to put in the breakfast wraps. "And what would that be?" Matt sighed as he turned his head to look behind him, as he doesn't want Gabby to hear this conversation as it may make her mad.

Yet at the same time, he also knew that he needed to give Camila the answer to the question that she just asked him. "The truth is Camila; we have all been thinking this is for the best. I mean, don't get me wrong; I love Ramon as a father-in-law, as well as my children's abuelo. But when it comes to him being in our lives as much as he would've been, had you guys stayed together; then I don't think I really could've been okay with that, due to the fact that I am not Ramon's biggest fan." Camila laughed as she heard Matt say that, while going to check on the pan; she then went ahead and proceeded to spray the pan with some more non-stick spray. After which, he just listened to Matt to what he was saying. "I mean, he stayed with us for a while after you guys separated; and I do not think I could ever do that again." Camila agreed with Matt as he said that, well aware that was the case. "Yeah, sorry about that." Matt shook his head, as Camila had nothing to be sorry about; after all, she was a victim in this after what Ramon did to her.

And that was precisely what he told her. "Camila, you are just as much a victim in this whole situation as us; I mean, do you really think that I can forget what he did to you?" Camila agreed with Matt as he said that. "OK. I have been meaning to ask you this for a while, but why do you think about it all the time? I mean, you weren't the one that got blindsided." Matt sighed as he looked at Camila. "Well, my wife was blindsided. She was heartbroken after it happened, and she was just…she was in tears, and I had to comfort her. And then, we made the decision to get married a week later." Turning her head, Camila agreed with Matt as that made sense. "Yeah, I can see that being the case." Matt then took a breath. "I just hate that I feel at times that I wish we waited at least another week." Camila was confused as she heard that though. "Why?" Matt just shook his head. "I'd rather not remember my wedding night, as the night that we were approached by my then-foster son's biological father on our doorstep." Camila sighed, nodding.

After all, that was something else she knew happened to him and Gabby on their wedding night. "Yeah, Gabby told me about that; and I have to say that I am surprised that you never pressed charges against him." Going to take a sip of his coffee, Matt thought about that. "Why didn't I think of that at the time? Maybe then we could've kept Louie." And that statement was one that truly did confuse his wife, as she came downstairs and looked at Matt. "Ok, what are you talking about?" Turning to look at his wife after she joined him down here, Matt smiled as she made her way over to him in her tight dress; setting her electronics down, she wrapped her arm around his back before getting close to him and leaning in to kiss her loving husband softly. After which, she whispered to him. "What happened to you making breakfast?" Matt smiled as he looked at Gabby. "Your mom offered, and I was about to read my e-mails." Gabby agreed with her husband as he said that, before going back to the topic that she first mentioned when she came down.

She then smiled, as she wanted to make sure that he answered the question; something that he always does when she's smiling at him. "I was saying. Maybe had we gotten married another day, we wouldn't have run in to Andre; and Louie would still be ours." Gabby shook her head, as that wasn't going to be the truth; if anything, they still would've lost Louie due to the fact that he had family. "Baby, he had a big family, and we did the right thing." Matt agreed with his wife as she said that, well aware that was the case. He then leaned in, kissing his beautiful wife once more. "I love you." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that. "I love you too." She then proceeded to walk away, making her way over to her mom. "Buenos dias mama." Camila smiled as she went to hug her daughter. "Buenos dias mi amore." She then kissed her cheek, smiling due to the fact that she was glad to be hugging her daughter. "How did last night go?" Gabby smiled. "It went great, and we had a nice time with each other." Matt smirked, as they certainly did.

They truly did have a really nice night, thanks to his beautiful wife. "And that's all thanks to you my dear." Turning her head, Gabby smirked due to the fact that she was happy. "Listen, stop flirting as we're on business mode right now. I want to do something because the kids are still asleep. Can we go over the order of meetings that we need to do today?" Matt agreed with Camila. "Do you mind Camila?" Camila shook her head, as she was more than okay with them doing what they need to do. "Want me to bring breakfast to you in your office?" Gabby smiled. "I'm doing it in the living room, so that I can watch the kids. Matt's going to do it in his office." Matt agreed with Gabby, as that was how it was going to happen. "Do you want me to sit with you Gabby, so that I can keep the kids quiet?" Gabby thought about it, as that actually sounded like a good idea. "I'd love that mom. Thanks." Camila agreed with her daughter as she said that; meanwhile, Gabby turned to look at her husband. "Your office? Or the living room?" Matt smiled.

Living Room – Sitting in the living room together (yet apart), Matt and Gabby both took some breaths due to the fact that this is going to be a lot that they need to take care of at the moment; yet they also know that they can do it, due to the fact that they've done it before. But first, Matt decided that Matt wants to do something else; and that would be to talk to his wife about what they just talked about. And that would be what happened on their wedding night. And he couldn't help but wonder whether that was the reason for her getting a bit tense, which is something that Gabby was trying to hide. So, he decided that he was going to start their conversation there; with the fact that Gabby seems to thing that she can hide the fact that she's currently tense at the moment. Placing his hand on her back to do so, Matt proceeded to kiss her shoulder…the shoulder that was now covered by a simple blouse rather than her tight dress, as she changed from that into a blouse and skinny jeans. "Is there a reason for a change in outfit?" Gabby sighed.

Turning her head, she looked at Matt (who soon grabbed her hand as a way to give her the comfort that he believes he needs at the moment); an action that was well appreciated by his wife. "Thanks." Matt agreed with Gabby, while stroking the top of her hand. "Hey, you never need to thank me when it comes to me helping you breathe and relaxing; that's one of my main jobs as your husband as I love you." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, well aware that was the case. "I know you do." Matt nodded, before leaning in and kissing the woman he loves softly. "I love you." Gabby agreed with Matt as she placed her hand on the side of his face, as they both just took a moment in silence while they both relaxed right now. Something that they both needed to do. "Listen, before we start this; I want you to promise me something." Gabby agreed with Matt. "If at any point during our meetings today you feel like you need a break, then do not feel like you need to stay on the calls." Gabby agreed with her husband, glad that was the case.

Anyways, she already felt that way. "Thanks, I was going to do that anyways." Matt agreed with Gabby as he smiled at her, before adding on something that was a bit unexpected to Gabby. "And if you need me, then you just need to tell me." Surprised, Gabby looked at Matt. "You, what?" Matt just looked at Gabby as he got close to her, before wrapping his arm around her back and cuddling up to her, which led to Gabby grabbing the hand which he just wrapped around her, and intertwining their fingers as they held each other close. And boy did Gabby love the fact that she was holding this hand, as it was the hand that had his wedding band on it. "I love it when you wrap his arm around me, as it allows me to hold this special hand." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, well aware that she loves holding the hand with his wedding band on it; as he felt the same way about holding the hand which has her wedding ring on it. "Baby, I feel the same way about your hand with your wedding and engagement rings." Gabby smiled, nodding.

After which, Matt leaned in and kissed her once more ahead of him talking to his wife about what he needs to talk to her about, which is how she's his priority no matter the situation. If she needs him to take a break from their meets so that they can take a moment with each other, then that's precisely what they're going to do for each other; and that's due to the fact that, at the end of the day, they are husband-and-wife first. "Now listen, about the meeting thing." Gabby agreed with Matt, as she was still a bit puzzled over how he said that. "Yeah, I am still a bit puzzled when you said that; as I wasn't expecting you to offer to do that." Matt shook his head, as she should expect it of him. "Gabby, remind me who I made wedding vows to? Wedding vows that I recently renewed." Gabby agreed with Matt, smiling at her husband. "I vowed to love and support YOU, my wife. And remind me who my whole world is?" Gabby smiled, well aware who that was. "Me and the kids." Matt agreed with Gabby, as that too was one of his truths; and he means it.

Something which he was going to convey to his wife once more, as he ensured that she knew that they could always go talk if they needed to. "Gabby, marriage is a two-way street. We are both going to be challenged a lot during the pandemic. We're going to have to deal with a lot, and we're both going to be under tremendous stress when it comes to work. Add in our marriage, our four beautiful children, as well as our mental health; we are going to have a busy life." Gabby agreed with her husband, as that was true. "But I believe in us and our marriage, and I believe that we can conquer it all; as long as we do it together. And that's why I am not going to put a meeting ahead of you. If you feel stressed about any of this, I want to…no, it's my duty to be there for you rather than continue with the meeting." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, before putting her hand on his cheek and leaning her forehead against his; after which, she leaned in and kissed the man she loves more than anything in the entire world. Her dreamy husband, Matt Casey.

The man she plans on having later. "Later, you're taking me to bed again; just like you did last night." Matt laughed as he heard Gabby say that, before leaning in and kissing the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world…something that another husband was also in the midst of doing, as he got a couple morning kisses from the woman he loves as they sat in the living room together.

Kitchen, Home of Jay & Alex Halstead – He was currently in the midst of making him and Alex some breakfast, while also running his hands all over her gorgeous body here in the kitchen of their home; with his gorgeous wife currently standing in front of her as they both relaxed with each other right now. Well, relaxed with each other may not be the right word; due to the fact that they are both pretty tense at the moment. Maybe the real word that should be used, is held each other right now; as that was all Alex was doing at the moment. She was holding her husband close to her, so that she could ensure that he didn't go anywhere, as she was still worried for him; something that Jay could tell, as he ran his hand up and down her back. "Baby, take a breath for me and just relax. You're all tense right now." Alex agreed with Jay, as she was tense right now. "I guess, I am just worried about you. I mean, what if you got COVID at the gym." Jay shook his head, as that wasn't something that she had to worry about; due to the gym that he visited.

Rubbing her back again, Jay smiled due to the fact that he was quite happy to be holding his wife close to him at the moment; while also bending down to kiss her shoulder, as a way to ensure that his wife relaxed. "Baby, just take a breath and relax. I visited a safe gym." Alex was confused as she heard Jay say that, while leaning back and looking at her husband. "Which one is guaranteed to be safe?" Jay smirked as he put his hand on her neck, before leaning in and kissing his beautiful wife softly. "I went to the CPD Academy." Alex then understood why the gym would be safe, due to the fact that was a safe place; they knew that it was safe because Hank said that they would be safe. "I think that's the only place that we can trust when it comes to places we can workout." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, while wrapping her arms around his neck; at the same time, Jay put his hands on her arms as they both held each other close. He then leaned in, smiling as he started to take things nice and slow with his wife.

"Sorry I woke you up this morning."

Alex shook her head, as that wasn't something that he had to say. "Jay, you never have to apologize for waking me up; especially not when our lives are just going to get even busier with all the meetings that we're going to have to do over the computer." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, before moving his hands next to her on the counter; while at the same time, Alex put her hands on her husband's toned chest before running her hands down his abs. "You want me to help you with your pants, especially when you already took off your shirt for me?" Jay snickered, well aware that his wife wasn't that happy that she didn't get to take off his shirt. "Oh, don't lie and say that you don't like the fact that I'm shirtless as we hold each other close right now." Alex agreed with Jay, as she most certainly does love the fact that he's currently shirtless as they stand close to one another; simply due to the fact that they are both cozy with each other. Afterwards, she wrapped her arms around his neck and continued to hold her man close to her.

Meanwhile, Jay put his hand on her back once more; running his hand up and down her back, Jay made sure that his wedding band was on her back. After all, that was what Alex always wanted. She wanted to have his wedding band on her back, as they held each other close here in the kitchen. However, it seems like their children didn't want the same thing, because they ended up just waking up. "And of course, they end up waking up now." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, before leaning in and kissing the woman he loves. "Do you want to make breakfast? Or get the kids?" Alex smiled. "You get the kids; I already saw them this morning. You haven't seen much of the kids." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, before making his way over to the nurseries so that he can get them for Alex. "Are we going to bring them into our room? Do you want to feed them in there?" Alex agreed with her husband, as that was exactly what she wanted to do. She wants him to take the kids to their room, so that they can feed them in there.

Nodding, Alex just smiled as her husband is the best husband and father in the entire world. "Did I ever tell you that you're the best husband and father in the entire world?" Jay smiled as he heard Alex say that. "And you're the best mother and wife in the entire world. I'm going to bring my bag into our room, before getting the kids." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, watching as he made his way out of the kitchen so that he could go to their room, get the kids, and then start feeding them (with Alex's help).
