Chapter 10

Disclaimer: Mentions of rape in this chapter.

Jess POV

When I woke up, my head was pounding. "Yep. Never drinking again." I said. I climbed out of the bed and headed out to the barroom. Ope was sitting at the bar with Hap and Jax. I walked over to them. "What'd I miss?" I asked.

All three looked over at me. "You should talk to Gemma." Jax said.

"What? Why?" I asked.

Hap put a hand on my shoulder. "Just talk to Gemma." Hap said.

I nodded. "Where is she?" I asked them.

"Office." Jax said.

I made my way out of the clubhouse and over to the office. She was sitting at the desk working on some paperwork. "What's going on?" I asked.

She looked up at me. "What do you mean?" She asked.

I walked inside and over to the couch to sit down. "I mean, yesterday I find out that Tig killed Donna on Clay's order and now nobody will tell me what is going on." I said.

"Remember when I told you that I got into a car wreck?" She asked me and I nodded. "It wasn't a car wreck. I was attacked. Then I was raped multiple times." She told me.

"Oh Gem. Do the boys know?" I asked.

She nodded. "They do now. At first it was just Unser and Tara." I gave her a 'what the fuck' look at the mention of Tara. "Don't look at me like that. I needed medical help. But when Jax said he was going Nomad, Tara made me realize that I needed to tell them. We're going on lockdown." She told me and I nodded. "I'm glad you're here baby." She told me.

I gave her a small smile. "Me too Gem." I said. We sat there for a few minutes in silence. "Are they together?" I asked looking down at the floor.

"I don't really know. She helps with Abel and when we need a doctor. I mean they probably are but neither has said anything." She told me and I nodded.

After sitting with Gem for a while, I made my way back over to the clubhouse. The croweaters were prepping for the lockdown. My boys were still sitting at the bar. Clay was over at a pool table, shooting a game with Tig. I decided that I probably needed to talk to them since we'd all be on Lockdown together. I grabbed three beers from the bar before I made my way over. "Hi guys." I said when I approached them.

"Hi pumpkin." Clay said. I handed each of them a beer before I opened my own. "Thanks."

"I can't say that I completely forgive you guys yet, but I can say that I understand that you were put in a tough spot." I said. Clay had a look of relief on his face. "I get that the ATF made it look like he was a rat, but you should've known that he'd never betray the club." I told them.

Clay took a few steps towards me and pulled me into a hug. "I hated to do it, I hope you know that." He said.

"I do. It just hurt knowing…that you, my father so to speak tried to kill my best friend." I said.

"I know and I'm sorry." He said.

"Thanks." I said. I looked down for a minute before looked back up at Clay. "I'm sorry about Gem." I told him.

"Thanks. It'll be handled."

Opie POV

When Jess grabbed three beers from the Prospect and headed over to talk to Clay, I watched her. Jess was a hot head just like most of us but at the same time she could be the most level headed. I watched her talk to Clay for a few minutes before she walked back over to us. "What?" She asked.

"That was really big of you." I said.

She leaned over the bar. "Yeah well, somebody once told me that I was a hot head and level headed at the same time." She said.

"Huh. I wonder who that could have been?" I said, smiling at her.

"How are you? Knowing what you know now." She asked me.

I shrugged. "I mean, it doesn't hurt any less but I mean, I guess I can kind of understand why they did it. Tig told me that they found wire taps in my cell phone and in my truck. Then there's the fact that ATF put money into my account temporarily." I said. She reached over and touched my hand. "It's just hard. You know?"

"Yeah I know." She said.
