The San Fransokyo Museum never seemed to be short on guests. It was rather large and offered a great number of exhibitions, from art of all forms, to history. Professors and modern-day major artists were frequently accepting requests for lectures or events as well, both taking advantage of and enhancing the museum's popularity. With everything from dinosaur fossils to works by Monet, there was something for everyone.

Naturally, the schools that surrounded the area were thrilled to take advantage of the great opportunities it provided as often as they could. It provided great opportunities for teachers to keep their classes interested in a number of different classes, so it was no surprise when a group of high schoolers followed their keen teacher into the building that most of them honestly looked a little bored with the place.

Jamie, on the other hand, was practically bouncing as they walked through the halls. He'd been waiting for this excursion for weeks. The museum's latest attraction was a loan of a number of ancient roman artifacts. Marvellous works of art, each depicting or made in honour of amazing stories of monsters, heroes, gods and glory. Jamie couldn't wait to put all he could to paper.

"Excited much?" Megan grinned, bumping into his shoulder as their class passed another school group, one which seemed to be on their tour guide's last nerve. "Last time I saw you this jittery was at our Halloween movie night. Did you stuff yourself with sweets again?"

"No, my teeth still hurt from the last time." Jamie groaned, shuddering at the memory of the painful weeks after that night. He'd normally never eat anywhere near that much, but Hiro had hand fed him every bite. Who would say no to that kind of attention? "I'm just keen to get started. Gotta love inspiration."

"Yeah, like your crazy imagination needs any more of that." Megan smirked, tilting her head at the sketchbook already in his hands. "That thing's already filled with so many embellishments to classic fairy tales that you could probably already make a fortune off of children's books. I mean, seriously, you have the Sandman lighting up the night sky with stingrays and sauropods made of gold sand dancing around the city while he floats around on a gold cloud chasing nightmares away."

"No, that's another book. This one's a bit less whimsical." Jamie grinned, opening it to reveal a picture of a falcon nesting in the woods. He was pretty proud of how it turned out, he was getting a lot better at depicting natural light, shadow and colour alterations, but it was hardly a magical picture.

"The fact you need a different one for fantasy sketches in the first place only reinforces my statement."

"No, it just proves my practicality."

"Then how about using it to pay attention?" Both of them turned their heads back to the group at that and immediately sent apologetic smiles as they were pierced with an annoyed, raised eyebrow. Apparently, they'd made it to the exhibit.

Fortunately, they didn't have to pay attention too long. A curator gave them a tour around the exhibit and the stories behind each artefact and they simply had to use the information she offered to fill out a worksheet. The fact that both the myths and the historic events were interesting certainly made listening enjoyable even to the more grudging listeners and before long, they were free to finish their work on their own.

Having the extra benefit of being mythology enthusiast, Jamie wasted no time finishing off all the remaining answers and happily found he had plenty of time for a sketch or two. He eyed the pieces before settling down between a mannequin bearing a complete set of roman armour, including a large shield, and a vase depicting a chariot race around it. Both had a lot of details to them and the light coming in through the window had parts of the armour almost glittering, while others were almost hidden in shadow.

All in all, it looked amazing and would be a good challenge to do justice on paper.

"Hey, before you disappear behind far too many pages and pencils, can you help me with these last couple of questions?" Megan asked, taking a seat beside him with a frustrated frown just as he started flipping pages in his sketchbook. "These gods' names and shenanigans are too out of control to keep track."

"Yeah, sure. Which ones are we talking about?" Jamie asked, setting his book on his lap.

"Well, the first one's something about a fight between Mars and Vul…" She started, however, he voice died as a fluttering page the boy's book caught her eye. Immediately, all traces of gratitude were gone from her face and were replaced with a look of pure hilarity as she snatched the book. "MWAHAH! What's this?"

"What's…uhh, ahh!" Oh God! That was not supposed to be in there. "Give that back!"

"And give this up? Not a chance, where's my phone?" His whole face red, Jamie leaped for the book, only for the laughing Megan to swing her arm out as far from him as possible before rolling right off the bench, her other hand digging in her pocket the whole time. Oblivious to the attention they were drawing from their classmates, Jamie leaped after her, only growing redder and more desperate as she waved the still open book around every one of his attempts to snatch it. If anyone else saw that picture…well, he didn't think he could live with that level of mortification.

They carried on like that for a good two minutes, only drawing more eyes to them as Megan tried to take a picture, only to have to pull away as Jamie lunged again. It was only when the teacher suddenly snatched the book and glared at them that they realised just how much of an audience they'd acquired.

"What do you think you're doing? Disrupting class, on a fieldtrip, no less? Do you know how this reflects on our school? I expected a lot better from both of you!" Megan had the decency to at least look a little ashamed as he continued to chastise the two of them, but Jamie wasn't even paying attention to his words. He was too busy overheating and trying to hide behind Megan, which he could only do thanks to her having her back to him when they were caught. Who knew how many people had seen that picture? They were in the middle of a circle, anyone could have gotten a look. If they saw it, he'd never live it down. And if Hiro got wind of this, which he would, courtesy of Megan, he'd kill him. It was actually a good thing Mr Corner stepped in, at least he'd closed the book.

"If either of you puts just more toe out of line, you'll both be spending a week with me in after school detention." He finished.

"Yes sir." Both sighed simultaneously, getting them more warning glare as he turned to walk away.

"Um, sir?" Jamie cried, panicking a little as he ran back in front of Mr Corner. "Can I have book back, please?"

"I don't know why you even have it out." Mr Corner frowned, scaring Jamie all over again as he hesitated. "A history excursion is no place for a sketchbook."

"I finished all my work, sir!" Jamie quickly responded, whipping up his worksheet for emphasis. "And I just wanted to sketch the armour and log a few notes, honest. So, that's got to count as history related, at least a little, right?"

"…You better get an A on this assignment, Jamie." Mr Corner sighed, trading the book for the worksheets. "And you better not cause any more trouble."

"I never meant to before. Thank you." Sighing deeply as the book returned to his hands, Jamie clasped it tightly to his chest and scampered off as fast as he could without running back to his seat. This time, when Megan sat back next to him, her remorseless smile was met with a very cagey glare as he tightened his grip.

"Oh, don't worry, I'm not going to touch it." She smirked. That didn't reassure him at all.

"I'm not helping you now."

"It was worth it." Megan just laughed in response. "Oh, to get a good look at that! What a scoop. How'd you even get him to wear a speedo? That boy won't even wear anything as form flattering as skinny jeans."

"…I didn't." Jamie mumbled, his voice barely heard even by Megan, as his face heated up again. "He doesn't know this picture exists and right now, I'd like to keep it that way."

It was true, Hiro was baggy clothes all the way. No one had every convinced him to wear anything close to form fitting and plenty had tried. Though, Jamie hadn't. He'd just long accepted that he was doomed to be tagged the stylish one in their relationship, as simple as most of his own clothes were. Maybe if he did ask, just once…

But no, even if his request did get answered with a miracle, Hiro would never go for how Jamie had depicted him. It would be a cold day in Hell before you'd see Hiro in nothing but red speedo briefs. Kneeling at the beach. With his hands resting on his hips, his head tilted just right as he…stared with the most seductive look on his face that Jamie could draw on it. Not a chance.

"Oh?" Megan's smirk only grew at that, eliciting a whimper from the boy. "Then how real are these other details? You put a lot of effort in…accentuating features. You peeked on him in less?"

"No!" Well, maybe a little? Does a slipping towel count? It didn't go that far. "Can't a guy fantasise about his boyfriend?"

"Oh, so this is what your fantasies look like? Trust an artist to go the extra mile with the attention to details." Ok, if this kept going any longer, either he was going to die or she was.

Not that there was any fear of that, for at that moment, screams echoed through the halls a split second before purple light rushed over the building, a very specific laugh following after a moment later.

"Congratulations everyone! All of you NPCs get the honour of assisting as side quest objectives in my treasure hunter level."

"Oh, thank God, we're being attacked." Jamie could help muttering as Megan turned all of her attention, and her camera, on the visually shifting world around them. He actually felt a little relief as he hit the HALP button Hiro installed on his own phone.

He'd take a DND nutjob like Hardlight over a reporter digging into his lustful urges any day.

….

Then again, maybe it would have been better to take the teasing.

It took no time at all for the world to warp around them. Hardlight must have upgraded his tech, for what was once a modern, state of the art museum now looked like a medieval castle vault. Brown stone walls surrounded them, blocking out all the windows and skylights, the area only lit by the torches along the walls and an overly large, dramatic chandelier.

That was where historical accuracy disappeared however, for everything else was stress inducing and weird. Purple light constructs were everywhere. Some were acting as barriers while others were designed as very precarious podiums or bubbles holding a fragile, priceless artefact. If a sudden breeze came through, many of them would be destroyed. So, of course, while mutant bats were swooping randomly through the air, little light gremlins looking like Big Hero 6 were trying break down forcefields and get at them. Apparently, saving the artefacts was the goal of the game for the heroes to play while trying to save the hostages chained to the walls. Oh, and before their gladiator guard took the captives out. The armour Jamie had been keen to draw before was now being worn by another light automaton and was pacing before them. A priceless piece of history was now, literally, a walking target. Who was threatening every screaming captive with an axe.

"This is not going well." Jamie could only groan as the chaos exploded all around him. The 'game' had started the moment first responders had burst through the main entrance and the place had looked like a fireworks factory had blown up ever since. Needless to say, the police were quickly outmatched, but their defeat did not pause the disaster. No, that just left a bored Hardlight creating a number randomly over each captive's head and telling them that was order that the gladiator would eliminate them. Needless to say, that started a lot of screaming. Fortunately, the gladiator was a slow walker and number one was far away from him, close to the entrance.

That fact was one of the few bits of relief they'd gained as Big Hero 6 burst in. Even when they determined the situation and freed the number one captive, the gladiator continued walking past the suddenly far more hysteric captive number two on his way to the number one.

That just about covered the good news however, because past that, and a few other quickly freed civilians, nothing was going right. Gogo and Wasabi hadn't shown up, the team was well outnumbered and Fred's attacks were wild and risking serious damage to everything around him, even as he tried to rein it in, meaning Honey Lemon had to save a number of people and fragile objects from him. Hiro wasn't any better, he kept getting distracted and sporadic whenever anything came within ten feet of Jamie. Which, seeing as he was strapped near the ceiling with the scary bats, was a lot.

It was just his luck. Or Megan's he guessed. When all this started, Hardlight decided that the daughter of the police chief was a great option for the princess of the story. And Jamie, having acted completely on instinct and thrown himself protectively before her, was deemed the royal bodyguard before they both were consumed in light. By the time they could see again, Megan was in an hourglass counting down the time left to finish the 'quest' on a dais at the back wall next to Hardlight, decked in a hard light ballgown and crown, while he was being held, spreadeagled, high up on the wall by bars around his wrists and ankles with a knight's helmet on his head.

At least he had a nice view of the carnage.

"Come on, heroes! Are you trying to win? The quest isn't that hard to figure out." Hardlight exclaimed, facepalming as Fred accidentally aided the gremlins again. "Here, I'll make it clearer for you. A few more threats to the hostages should get this rolling."

"NO!" Hardlight's fingers barely touched his gauntlet before a rocket fist came surging right for him. Not that that stopped him, he effortlessly got a shield up for himself, but with Baymax suddenly ignoring everything else and surging right after it, he barely managed a few more bat creations before being forced to switch to swordplay.

"You really are noobs at this, aren't you?" Hardlight, practically gliding under Baymax's attempt at his gauntlet before forcing him back with a slash of his blade. "You don't go after the final boss while the grunts are still around on a protection quest. You're only asking for a loss. Not to mention risking a trap." With that and a laugh, he launched another few slashes and a thrust strong enough to topple the robot as its breastplate cracked before, with the push of a single button, every one of his light constructions doubled their speed. "What did I tell you? Come after me too soon and lose the loot."

'OW! What do they think screaming louder's going to do?' Jamie groaned, cringing as the hostages' screams increased in both pitch and volume. Sure, the gremlins were smacking at pillars faster, but the gladiator had only just smacked his axe into the number one and was still going to take ages to reach the first number with a still-bound hostage. Honey Lemon had just managed to clear out another dozen people, which included everyone on numbers two to seven. Only the bats were bothering to attack people and they were all focused on the heroes. In fact, the only person who should be screaming right now was-

"AHH!" Himself apparently. Their increased speed seemed to have altered the bats' flight patterns enough that they were swooping all around him.

"Jamie! Are you alright?" Megan shouted, smacking the hourglass.

"Yeah, I'm-BAH!" He started, only to cry out as a wing nicked his thigh. Still, it was only another graze. He was fine.

However, his yell must have travelled, for at that moment, Hiro froze. Whipping his head up just in time to see another three fly by, Hiro shifted his and Baymax's positions before taking off like a rocket.

"Didn't I already tell-argh!" Hardlight started, shifting into a parrying stance, only to scream as Fred kicked his gladiator into him.

"Oh yeah! Two villains for one! Fredzilla's on fire now. Now, what do you say we…oh, you're gone."

Hiro hadn't even noticed the help. He barely noticed the bats Baymax was destroying as he surged through them. He ignored everything around him, every cry and flash of light, as he pressed on, only stopping when Baymax's limbs practically crashed into the wall around Jamie.

"Jamie, are you alright?" Hiro asked, practically throwing himself over Baymax's shoulder. "Don't worry, we'll get you out of here in no time. Baymax, do your thing."

"Why are you already coming for me?" Jamie hissed softly, just loud enough for Hiro to hear. "I mean, ignoring how many people you could have saved along the way, I'm the most out of the way and have the highest number over my head. I'm in the least amount of danger!"

"You're at a bone breaking height, directly above a spear if you hadn't noticed, and could be dropped as a 'plot twist' at any moment!" Hiro snapped back, wrapping his arms around him tightly as Baymax smacked and yanked his bonds. "Besides, don't even pretend you haven't already at least been sideswiped. I can see the cuts on your limbs. I need to know you're safe."

Well, Jamie couldn't stay frustrated after that touching response. With them so close, he could see clear through the tinted face plate and he'd never seen such an earnest and scared look on Hiro's face. That look had his own softening into a much more affectionate one in an instant. It was always nice seeing just how much Hiro cared about him.

"I am fine." He stated softly, offering a small, reassuring grin as Baymax ripped a shackle off of his ankle. "It's just a few grazes. They barely broke the skin."

"All the same, I'll feel a lot better when you're-"

"LOOK OUT!"

"AH, CRAP!" Both boys' eyes went wide as Honey Lemon screamed, but before anyone could respond, the swarm of bats were back and slamming themselves into Baymax with enough force to knock him a good seven meters away.

"AAHHH!" To make matters worse, he took Jamie's third shackle with him and left Hiro tumbling off his shoulder, his arms clinging to Jamie's waist for dear life as the Brunette swung by one arm. Gritting his teeth, Jamie only just managed to swallow his scream as pain exploded from his wrist. Between the angle it was hanging from and the weight pulling on it, he wouldn't have been surprised if it was broken. Though that didn't stop Hiro from noticing. There was no hiding the pained look on his face.

"Jamie, are you-"

"Very clever. I didn't you'd even recognise the unlockable ally reward. You're better than I thought." Hardlight cheered, floating toward them on a cloud as his gladiator forced Honey Lemon back with a swing of his axe and a horde of gremlins swarmed a screaming Fred. "But just because I added the option, don't think I'm going to just let you take it."

"Stay away from him!" Jamie could feel Hiro's whole body tense as the boy suddenly went wild. Wrapping his legs around the back of Jamie's knees, he swung one arm out and fired one magnet disk after another. Unperturbed, Hardlight simply directed some bats to take the hits as he continued on his way.

An act that turned out to be a mistake, for as one was knocked back into the air, another bat struck it just right to activate it.

"WAAAHHHHH!"

"ARGH!"

"Oh no."

"HEY, THAT'S CHEATING!" The moment the disk was activated, everyone in the air was flung toward it. Jamie got off relatively easy, merely having his belt and watch ripped from him, but he was also yanked around by Hiro, the metal within the young hero's suit dragging him right off the flailing brunette and onto a collision course with a speeding Baymax and Hardlight. His arm did not appreciate it.

"NO, NO, NO!" Neither did Hardlight. He was shooting gauntlet first like rocket with Baymax, who was moving far more sporadically due to his thrusters, coming right at him. Neither had time to react before them slammed into each other.

From there, the chaos only got worse. For as they collided, Hardlight's gauntlet took the full force of Baymax's body.

"ARGH, NO! Look what you've done!" Hardlight cried, flailing wildly as sparks flew from his gauntlet, forcing him to rip it off. All around them, the world started flickering for a few seconds before all of Hardlight's work turned into pixels and disappeared. "My treasure quest! My platform!" Luckily for him, Baymax was quick to respond to his distress, snagging his cape in one hand before he could drop while the other caught the falling Hiro.

"AAAAAHHH, HELP!" Unfortunately, that and his odd position left him completely unprepared to catch the newly freed and freefalling Jamie.

"JAMIE!" Hiro could only watch in horror as the boy plummeted, his head aimed perfectly for the damn spear beneath him. Neither he, nor Baymax had a chance of reorientating themselves in time to save him. He was going to die.

It was at that second that what sounded like a water balloon exploding heralded a very abrupt end to his fall as something pink and springy consumed his body and bounced him safely back to its surface.

"I've got him. Everyone else, keep going." Honey Lemon ordered, waving people out with one hand while threw chem balls in every direction. The place was covered in what looked like pink gum, but she had done a wonderful job saving the artefacts, so the museum had nothing to complain about.

Not that Jamie cared about any of that right now. He was quite content just staring at the ceiling as a long, deep sigh left his lips. That was way too close. The goop was only two feet above the spear and he'd felt a poke from the tip on his skull right before he was sprung up. Thank God this stuff was so thick and springy.

"JAMIE!" He didn't get to relax for long though, for not a moment later, Hiro was dropping in right next to him.

"Argh!" His definitely dislocated arm screaming as the world bounced around him, Jamie curled up protectively around it as he gave Hiro another mild glare. "Be careful, would ya? And if you don't stop shout my name, then people-"

"Thank Goodness you're ok!" Hiro cut him off, ripping his helmet off and flinging his arms around the boy, albeit taking care not to irritate the bad arm. Jamie could only sit there as Hiro buried his face into Jamie's neck, his whole body shaking as muffled whimpers of 'I'm sorry' and 'you're ok' filled the air. "I was so scared…I thought…when I saw you…if Honey Lemon didn't…"

"Hey, it's alright. I'm alright." Jamie whispered soothingly, wrapping his good around the boy, rubbing the back of his head. "Everything will be fine, Hiro. I'm ok. I'm right here."

Jamie had no idea how long they sat like that. Hiro only tightened his grip, refusing to let go and Jamie just kept rubbing soothing circles and whispered reassuringly in response. It was only when the paramedics got persistent and Hiro remember that Jamie was actually injured that he finally let him move and even then, only into Baymax's arms. Hiro barely remember to put his helmet back on before rushing him to the nearest ambulance, having Baymax and scan him multiple times along the way. Even then, even with Baymax's reassurance that the damage was minimal, Hiro still had to be dragged away.

Jamie just gave the boy one more soft smile as he watched the heroes go, fighting back a chuckle as Hiro tried to get out of Honey Lemon's hold and come back. It was only when they were out of sight that he turned his attention back to the medics fussing over his arm.

'You can relax, Hiro.' Jamie sighed, biting his lip they reset the limb before putting it in a sling. 'Everything will be fine.'

Well, all except for one thing. Apparently, Megan had his stuff. 'If she goes for that sketch again…crap!'
