Early the next morning you and Toshinori are rudely woken up by your dad. "Dah na na na na-nah! CHARGE!" Shanks yells before doing a belly flop onto your bed, sending you bouncing into the air and causing Toshinori to roll off of it in alarm.
You let out a loud and very undignified squeal before landing back on the bed. "Damn it, Daddy! You can't jump on my bed like that anymore!"
"Huh? Why not?"
Sudden, violent coughing from the floor catches your attention and you rush over to Toshinori's side. "This is why." You grab a couple of tissues from the box on the nightstand then begin to rub Toshinori's bare back, "Are you okay, Toshi?"
He nods his head, "I'll be fine." You hand him the tissues and he wipes away the blood from his lips. "I'm glad that I took your advice and put my boxers back on last night."
You laugh, "This is why I told you to do so."
Shanks gets off of the bed and walks around to where you and Toshinori are. "Are you all right Toshinori?" He stops in his tracks when he sees the scar on Toshinori's left side. "Ah...That scar certainly explains why the number 1 hero in Japan looks like this."
Toshinori coughs up blood again from shock while you jump to your feet and point your index finger at him. "AHA! I KNEW that you cheated last night when we were wrestling! You used your quirk!"
Your father gives you an innocent look and shrugs his shoulders. Toshinori looks up at Shanks, "How did you know?"
You grab another tissue and crouch back down next to Toshinori. You start to gently wipe the blood off of his face. "Remember when I explained to you about how my Haki quirk works? How I can use my willpower to strengthen certain parts of my body? Well, my dad can do so too as well as strengthen his senses. For example, he can enhance his sight to see a person's aura; the distinctive atmosphere that surrounds a person. Now a person's aura doesn't change even if their physical appearance does. And last night, while dad and I were wrestling, he must've used his quirk and seen your aura."
Toshinori stands up before offering you a hand. You slip a hand in his and he easily pulls you up onto your feet. "Ah, I see. Does this mean that you have the same ability?" He bends down and picks up his pants.
As Toshinori puts on his pants you tell him, "No, my Haki quirk isn't as powerful as my dad's." Toshinori buttons and zips up his pants before picking up his red button up shirt and slipping it on. "But my Will of the Dragon is stronger than his."
"The doctors think that it's a natural development. That in a few generations, the Haki quirk will be gone from our bloodline only to be replaced by Will of the Dragon." Shanks yawns, "Well, it has been a long night. I think I'll hit the hay."
"Before you do, I want to ask you a question. Will you help me with my classes in a few days?"
"Of course, I will, princess. Just let me know when you need me." He begins to walk towards the door, but stops before leaving. "By the way, when do I get to meet Izuku?"
Toshinori tells him as he finishes buttoning his shirt, "I plan on meeting with him this afternoon for our usual training routine. We're meeting at Dagobah Municipal Beach Park at 4. Would you like to join us? "
"That sounds great, I'll see you then. However, I would like to see Izuku use his quirk some time before the Sports Festival so that I can see what I can do to help him."
"You'll get to see Izuku use his quirk when you help me with my classes."
Your dad nods, "Okay. Well I'm going to go and catch some z's. I'll see you later, Toshinori." Your dad points at you, "You...You stay out of trouble. You're legally half-blind now and can't be rushing into situations and being a hero anymore. You have to take your retirement seriously."
"Yeah, yeah. Just go to bed already, old man."
Shanks sighs, but turns to walk out of the door. As he leaves, you hear him say, "Still as stubborn as a mule."
You grin and shout back, "At least I don't smell like one."
"Hey! I don't smell that bad!" There's a small pause, "Okay...maybe I need to shower before I go to sleep."
You chuckle and turn your attention to Toshinori who is frowning down at you. "He's right about how you can't just rush in to save people anymore. Not just for your own safety, but for civilians' safety as well."
You shake your head, "I know that, but if I see that someone's life is in danger, I won't just stand around and do nothing."
He sighs and runs his right hand through his messy mane of hair. "I understand how you feel. Just...just promise me that you won't act if there's another hero there that can handle the situation."
You stand on the tips of your toes and kiss him on the cheek. "I promise."
Toshinori looks relieved, "Okay. I need to go and get ready for my morning patrol." He bends down and presses his lips against yours. "I love you."
"I love you, too." You walk with him to the front door and he slips his socks and shoes on.
You give him one last kiss before he leaves. You yawn loudly and stretch. You look at the round wall clock and see that it's only 5 in the morning. You decide to go back to bed and sleep for a few more hours.
You wake up again at 7 and take a shower before getting dressed in a pair of bright pink and white tie-dye leggings and a white t-shirt. You make a pot of Top of the Mornin' coffee and some eggs and bacon for breakfast. Afterwards, you wash the dishes before calling Nezu to see if you're needed at the school. He tells you no and that if you're seen at U.A. that Recovery Girl will beat both of your shins with her needle cane til they're black and blue, heal you, and then beat them again.
You watch movies on Netflix until noon then fry up a couple of pork chops and make a pot of macaroni and cheese. By the time that the food is done, your dad is awake. He sits down at the small kitchen table, "What are we going to do until 4, princess?"
You place a plate down in front of him, "I figured that I would show you around the city."
You return to the stove to retrieve your own plate, "Sounds good. Let's start with the bars!"
You place your plate down across from your dad's before sitting down in the chair. You chuckle, "We may stop for one or two drinks, but you don't wanna be wasted when you meet Izuku, do you?"
He pokes his bottom lip out slightly in a pout, "Aww. But I suppose you're right."
You grin at him, "Relax, old man. There's plenty of time for you to get drunk while you're here."
After the two of you eat, you work together to wash the dirty dishes. Then your dad goes to get dressed while you put on your shoes. A few minutes later, your dad returns wearing a white dress shirt that's only half-way buttoned and red capriswith large green and yellow diamond patterns surrounded by purple and green mini arches like how a child draws the petals of a flower. Once your dad slips on his sandals, the two of you leave your apartment. You spend the next few hours showing your dad around, stopping at a couple of bars for a few drinks, but you make sure space enough time between drinks so that the two of you won't show up at the beach drunk.
The two of you arrive at the beach ten minutes early and see that Izuku is already waiting. "Is that him?" Your dad asks.
You nod, "Yep." Your dad takes off running and you shout. "Hey! Don't greet him like you used to greet me! You're a stranger to him and he'll think that you're actually attacking him!"
You watch as your dad runs up to Izuku and picks him up in a one-armed bear hug. Izuku slightly screams, "W-what's g-going on?"
"Finally, I get to meet my grandson! I'm going to take you fishing on my boat, teach you how to shave, play catch together, and so much more!" You start to jog towards them when you see Izuku's face start to turn slightly blue.
"Hey, old man! Loosen your grip or you won't HAVE a grandson for much longer!" You shout.
Shanks let's go of Izuku, "Sorry about that lad, I'm just excited to finally met you!"
Izuku looks at you in confusion as you stop a few feet away from him. "Izu-kun, this is my dad, Shanks."
"Just call me Grampy...or peepaw. No, no...call me gramps. Or maybe..." A sweat drop forms on the back of Izuku's head.
You cut off your dad's rambling, "OR just call him Shanks until you feel comfortable enough to call him grandpa or anything like that."
Shanks places his arm over Izuku's shoulder and pulls him into a side hug. "Of course, call me whatever you want, Izuku."
"Uh...um...okay?" Izuku says a bit uncertain of what to do at the moment. "Wh-what are y-you guys doing h-here?"
You smile at Izuku, "We're going to join you in your training today. And then I'm taking everyone out to dinner. Which reminds me, I need to text your mom and let her know before she starts cooking." You pull out your phone and send a quick text to Inko. 'Inky-chan! My father is in town and we're helping Izu-kun with his training today. After we're done and have freshened up, I'm taking us all out to eat. Including you. All complaints about not wanting to be a bother WILL be ignored. You deserve a break from cooking every now and then.'
You send the text just as Toshinori arrives. He is wearing a dark blue jogging suit that is extremely baggy with red, white, and blue sweatbands on both wrists and head. A huge grin appears on your face, "Hey, Toshinori!"
He returns your smile, "Hello, (Y/N), young Midoriya, and Shanks."
Your dad finally releases Izuku, "Hi, Toshinori. So, what do you have planned for training?"
"I thought that we would run back and forth on the beach for a few miles. Then we can show young Midoriya some defensive moves."
"Will you be joining all of us for dinner tonight? My treat."
Toshinori nods, "That sounds delightful. Except, I believe that it's my turn to pay for dinner, my dear."He claps his large hands together, "Shall we start our run?"
All four of you start to jog side by side along the shoreline; Izuku on your right, your dad on your left, and Toshinori to the right of Izuku. After about 10 minutes your dad begins to run ahead of the group. "Hey! Don't think that I don't know what you're up to! I've got my eye on you, old man!"
Shanks turns around to face you, jogging backwards. He puts on an innocent expression, "I have NO idea what you're talking about, princess." He turns back around and continues jogging.
"Uh-huh, sure. Like you're not plotting to ambush me the first chance that you get."
"I don't ambush you...I check to make sure that you don't let your guard down."
You huff, "I'm still not letting you out of my line of sight."
Forty minutes later, the four of you have stopped for a small rest. Toshinori is huffing hard and you are standing close to him while Shanks is showing Izuku some one handed defensive moves not far away. Toshinori sighs, "I'm sorry."
You look at him confused, "Hmm? For what?"
"For having to stop and rest. Before my injury I used to be able to run for hours on end without stopping."
"Toshi...you don't need to apologize for needing to rest, especially with an injury like yours. If half of my respiratory system had been destroyed and my stomach removed, I wouldn't have even a quarter of the strength that you have right now."You sigh and run your hand through your hair, "I guess we're both struggling to accept the fact that we're no longer physically capable of doing things that we used to be able to do with ease." You give him a small smile, "But on the upside, at least we know what the other is going through and can be there for each other."
Toshinori gives you his own gentle smile, "I suppose my upcoming retirement will be a less bitter pill to swallow as long as I have you by my side."
Your smile widens, "I don't plan on going anywhere. I'm afraid that you're stuck with me Toshinori Yagi." You stand on your tiptoes in order to place a quick kiss on Toshinori's lips.
"Eeew!" You hear and turn your head to see that it came from your dad.
"Oh, act your age, daddy."
He gives you a mischievous grin, "I hope that I'm still the only one that you call daddy."
Your face turns bright red and Toshinori begins to cough up blood. "Daddy!"
"How's that for acting my age, princess?" He then bursts out laughing.
"I-I don't believe you, you dirty old man!"
Izuku is completely confused, "I-I don't understand..."
You wave your hand dismissively in Izuku's direction, "Never you mind. It's, uh, nothing that you need to understand til you're older, Izu-kun."
Toshinori finally gets his coughing under control then wipes the blood from his lips using the sleeve of his jogging jacket. "I swear you and your father are going to be the death of me one day."
You open your mouth to respond with a witty response, but the ringing of your phone stops you. 'Listen up, I got somethin' to say.
That's right, I run ma mouth all day.
Step up, take a blood bath
Now you're tryna run and it's makin' me laugh.' You answer the call with "Hey, Wade. What's up?"
You see your dad tense at the name and you walk further away as a male's voice replies from the phone. "Heya, sugar tits! How are ya liking Japan? Have you met All Might yet?"
"It's great. I have met All Might...and no, I will not get you his autograph."
"Aww," you can practically see the pout on his masked face.
"I've reconnected with my sister-in-law and nephew and I'm teaching at U.A. I'm also dating someone n..."
"NNNOOOO!!! Wait, guy or girl? Because if it's a chick, I'll be up for a ménage à trois."
You snort in disbelief, "Sorry, to pop your bubble, Wade, but I'm dating a guy this time."
"Aww...well, is he hot? Cause if he is I'm probably still in."
"He is, but I don't think he's into ménage à trois."
"Well, he doesn't sound very fun," Wade whines, causing you to chuckle.
"Most people who are sane are boring to you Wade. Oh, by the way, I'm now legally blind in my right eye after a fight with a huge purple bird-man with an exposed brain."
"Oh, man! I always miss out on all the fun stuff!" Wade says. "Do you want me to send you one of my eyes? Cause you know that I will. Just say the word and I'll gorge out an eye and send it to ya."
"No thanks, Wade. I appreciate the thought though."
"I wanted to send you a hand through the mail, but Baby Boy stopped me."
You chuckle, "Then I owe Spider-Man a thank you the next time that I see him. Anyway, what exactly do you want, Wade?"
"Right! That's way I called you! I'm gonna be traveling to Japan soon and need a place to crash."
You glance over at your dad who is frowning at you. "When?"
"Turn around." You turn around to face the opposite direction. "HA ha! Got ya."
"Very funny, Wade," you huff. "When are you coming to Japan?"
Wade laughs, "The author decided to add 'to Japan' to keep me from making a REALLY dirty joke." [FW: Yes. Yes I did.]
"Wade? Hey, WADE? Focus!"
"Righty-oh. I'll be COMING in a week or two." [FW: Damnit, Wade. I'm trying to keep the story PG-13 or below. Oh, now look what you made me write!]
"Okay, but you know the rules when you stay with me. No killing anyone and no smuggling in ANY kind of explosives. And I don't care that you've painted unicorns on them and identify them as 'Works of Art'."
"Aww, man. What about glitter bombs?"
You chuckle, "As long as they're not actual bombs." You look over at Toshinori then your dad before lowering your voice and saying, "Besides, I didn't say anything about smuggling OUT explosives."
Wade laughs, "I love you, you little enabler." You laugh at how excited he sounds, "We are going to have so much fun! I'll make tacos and we can have a Golden Girls marathon while painting each other's nails and sharing the latest gossip!"
"Sounds great, Wade. I'll see you then!" You hang up then turn back to face Izuku, Toshinori, and your dad.
"That better not have been Wade Wilson that you were talking to." Your dad says with a huge scowl on his face.
"Umm...nooo?" You say looking everywhere, but at your father with your lips pursed to the side.
Sweat drops appear on all three of the males' heads. "Aunty, you're a horrible liar."
Your father chuckles, "This," he points at your face, "is why you were never given any undercover assignments. You're the world's worst liar."
