*Lincoln narration*

Lincoln: It all started the day i woke up and nobody was home, but then i remembered that mom said she was going with you guys to the mall. I didn't mind too much about it because i was actually looking forward to a lonely time for myself. I kinda preferred when you guys weren't around causing a ruckus, you know? When i used to like reading comics in my underwear. I picked some of my collection of Ace Savvy books and started reading about four of thoses, but it didn't last long until i got tired and dicided to play games, but it also got boring quickly. But after sometimes i noticed that two hous has passed and i didn't even noticed. And after sometime, boredom and because a drop of curiosity that welled up in me, i started to search you guys room, to see if i could find about something i didn't knew about you guys, cuz i felt i didn't knew enough about you to consider myself your brother...

Leni: But that's not true!!

Lincoln: I started to look in your rooms but... There was nothing that i could coment about, or interesting, or... That was new... But there was this one thing in Lisa's room that caught my attention. Heck, I'd caught the attention of anyone who saw it! That big squared or-or Rectangular machine or so. It was big, and certainly unstable... I took that clipboard on top of it i it read that that thing was a prototype time machine. My mind was at one million per second! Yeah, ut was pretty obvious that a twelve year old was going to be amazed bu such thing, Because in my head, i was planning on seeing my future self. I don't really remember much, but, there was this panel that it was written in digital letters something like "Select your Alternative Time paradox". I didn't undertood much, but by far i knew about that, it mean but i knew it had something to do with "Four seconds equals four minutes; Four minutes equals four hours; Four hours four days; four days four months and so on... I wanted to teat that out, but it started to program it self, ans started to tilt and bug it's sistem. And before i knew, i was engulfed by a big and bright light. But for once i could tell that i was REALLY freaked out...

A very bright light began to form as soon as the power came back, and the machine started to smoke, it was white at first, but soon after it turned gray, and finally completely black. I screamed in fear as I was swallowed by the large glowing ball. After a while, I woke up in a completely unfamiliar place. The streets were made of brick, the houses were made of wood, and only their foundation was made of cement and stone. People wore suits and ties, and their mustaches were funny, and the women were beautiful. They were all dressed in wonderful dresses... You would love to be there Leni, everything was 19th century style. I had little contact with people, and because of the attention and care of a lady, I ended up in an orphanage for two years. There, I met three boys, Their names were, Albert, Franz, and Ludwig... They were good friends, but the war took them away from me. I could count on their support for everything I did, and that only lasted once we enlisted in the army...

1916... Central Park-Berlim; Friend group

Lincoln; Franz; Albert Ludwig

Lincoln was running down the bricks road eith a bicycle, at a normal speed, of course, not to run over anyone who was walking by in the road. The was not much cars, since only VERY rich people had it, and only workers too. The road was large enough for a four way street, two going to one side, and the other two going to the other. But the street got narrower as he continued down it. He was realizing this because further ahead, a staircase that led to a place above the city was in the middle of it. Passing through the narrowest street, and following the steps ahead, he reached the center of town. In a square where he parked his bicycle, he can see Albert Kropp, Franz and LudWig. They had clipboards in their hands, just like the one in Lincoln's backpack. They were military enlistment clipboards.

He went running to his friends, and they were all wearing the same burgundy cap with a yellow ribbon and a yellow rose on the front. "Lincoln? Lincoln!!" Kropp called out to him as soon as he saw him "Lincoln!" Franz greeted, and soon all the friends were arguing together. "So?" Albert asked him, taking the file from the sixteen year old boy "Miss Elioh said no" "Damn... What now?!" "I'm going anyway!" "What?!" Asked Ludwig With very surprised eyes behind his glasses. "Does she know where she's going?" "Of course she knows..." Lincoln said taking his card back "Will you stay home?" Lidwig asked. "Wow, my God. Are you going to cling to the hem of her skirt until you're eighteen?!" Kropp scoffed. Lincoln looked up, stopped reflecting and looked at his friend, who still had the mocking look on his face. But he was soon even more amazed when Franz said "Give it to me, let me sign for you!". "Those responsible for him must sign!" Said LudWig, not happy with that kind of decision "Yeah, but, they didn't. Come on, give it to me!" "It won't work. They'll find out!" "Oh yeah? And how?" Said Albert fixing his hair under his cap. LudWig simply gave up; It seemed only he knew what they would be dealing with if they went to the recruits' draft meeting.

"Is Miss Elioh his mother by any chance? Hahaha! To find out anything?!" Hahahahah!!" Albert just laughed at his bespectacled friend's quip. Lincoln looked at his file with his head in a constant struggle between morals and lies. Did he forge the signature, or did he just give up and live normally until he returned to his family? But no~ He had to cause himself some trouble. "Do you have any pens Franz?" "No." "LudWig?" He looked at the said boy, who still had the scowl, and constantly reminded them of the consequences of doing such a thing "You're going to get in trouble! She'll punish you!!" "Got any better ideas? I was alone in my life once, and I won't be again" Ludwig understood what he meant. Being left in an orphanage without even knowing who his parents were. Letting out a long sigh of defeat, and taking a pen from within out of his pocket, Ludwig handed it to Lincoln, who soon signed his binder, little knowing that this would be the worst decision of his life.Franz and Albert seeing this, applauded their friend who was now about to become a recruit just like them "HAHAHA, congrats soldier Lincoln!! You're going to the battlefront!" Lincoln laughed along with his friend and between the laughs he uttered the phrase "I'm a dead man as soon as I step foot in there..."

Lisa: Surely you had to do something like that... It wasn't enough to have messed with my machine without my awareness, but you forged your signature to enter one of the worst wars ever caused by human beings?!

Lincoln: I was young and still very shaken by my own mistake! And I had made new friends who were like brothers to me... Brothers that i never had... I couldn't stay behind... But... back to the story... We had met with several other recruits who had enlisted with us. It was inside a church, and everyone had taken seats on several pews inside, while a man with a mustache and a bald head, shouted several lies about being a hero if we enlisted in the army...

the man shouting from the church platform was a captain in the german army, and, he was giving a speech about the advantages of being a soldier, who, unbeknownst to us, would be marching towards his own death. Franz, Me, Albert and Lidwig, were sitting on the same pew inside the church. There were a few whispers here and there, but everyone paid attention to the speech as if that was something extremely admirable and beautiful to hear. But little did they all know that it was a villain pretending to be a hero in a critical situation. "YOU, ARE HERE, IN THE LINEAR OF EXISTENCE." He shouted starting the speech "REMEMBER THIS MOMENT! IT'S A GREAT MOMENT, FOR IN YEARS TO COME, YOU WILL BE JUDGED FOR WHAT YOU DARE TO BECOME TODAY!!"

All those young people paid attention to it as if it were a treasure they admired. All in silence listening to such misleading words, covered in vain promises and non-existent pride. "THE IRON YOUTH OF GERMANY. MY DEAR YOUNG PEOPLE, YOU ARE LUCKY TO EXPERIENCE THIS GREAT MOMENT, AS YOUR ACTIONS WILL BE THE LIQUID THAT IS NOURISHING THE GROWTH OF A STRONG AND NOBLE ROOT-" He stopped, as a persistent whisper continued. Lincoln looked around but didn't see who was talking and interrupted the Major. He may not have seen them talk, but the Major did. He shouted to the attention of those whispering in his speech "SHUT UP AND LISTEN LEINEMANN!!! THE KAISER WANTS SOLDIERS, NOT CHILDREN!!" Taking a deep breath before returning, his anger was replaced by the false enthusiasm he put into his speech, to try to make a good impression of the war, as if that didn't take lives all the time. What a big liar that guy was... "I'm sure I'll see most of you here again, with your devil's sword in its scabbard with honor, and an iron cross on your chests, full of pride!!Nevertheless, DON'T BE FOOLED!! DURING THE SOMBEST HOURS BEFORE AN ATTACK, YOU WILL BEGIN TO FEEL DOUBTS... BUT THIS IS NOT THE TIME TO BE WEAK!!!! BECAUSE ANY INSTABILITY OR HESITATION WILL BE CONSIDERED BETRAYAL TO YOUR HOMELAND!!"

Lori: You keep saying that all that this man states is lies, What your mean by that?

Lincoln: You'll understand this further in the story, Now let's head back to it

"FOR MODERN WAR IS LIKE A CHESS GAME! IT IS NOT ONE SINGLE PIECE, BUT ALL OF THEM, ONE WHOLE." He was out of breath and, after adjusting his suit and looking at his purse watch, clearly demonstrating that he didn't want to be there, He looked back at all those innocent young people, who didn't know what awaited them "You'll have to prove that you are worthy of the uniforms you'll be wearing, and to do that, you'll have to invade the enemy front in Flanders, AND THEN, YOU WILL, IN A FEW WEEKS, MARCH OVER PARIS!!" He squealed with enthusiasm to elicit the screams of excitement from the young soldiers, including Lincoln's group, who also squealed along with everyone else. They were cries of pleasure, hope and happiness, because doing something like that would be like discovering a new land and founding a new city there. "OUR FUTURE- GERMANY'S FUTURE IS IN THE HANDS OF ITS BEST GENERATION. MY FRIENDS, IT'S YOU!!! THEREFORE, GO TO BATTLE; FOR THE KAISER, FOR GOD AND FOR THE FATHERLAND!!!!" The boys all shouted cheers, throwing their hats and binders in the air as they clapped and hugged each other. Lincoln and his group of friends hugged and jumped together screaming and cheering with happiness. Now they were officially in the German army.

Two days later; in the head quarters of german army

It was a big hall, with five long lines of young men waiting for their uniforms. LudWig and Albert had already got their uniforms, and Franz Lincoln were still waiting for theirs. With swollen veins and a heartbeat that could be seen in them, Lincoln took a step forward just as a helmeted man with a mustache shouted "NEXT!" Now Lincoln was at the head of the whole line. He looked to the side and saw Franz leaving behind his other friends, already with their uniforms in hand. As soon as the senior officer asked for Lincoln's papers (which were done at that time) he started reading them to make sure he was giving the uniform to the right person.

"Your name is just Lincoln; You're an orphan, and you're sixteen right?" He asked looking at the albino boy. "Yes sir!" He said showing as much respect and poise as possible. Leaning to the side, not before handing the documentation back to the white-haired boy, he picked up the uniform set. It was a coat with a large collar and only three buttons; and like the coat, the trousers were of the same color: dead moss green; The boots themselves had a long shaft and had small spikes on the soles, to help when walking on difficult terrain. "You will receive the uniform and helmet later, son. Here, take it" The man said handing the set of clothes to the young man. Once Lincoln took the clothes, he just stood there looking at them, like a toy he hoped to get for his birthday. Seeing this the Officer asked "Is something wrong son?" "Oh no. I'm just looking forward to getting started!" He replied as soon as he snapped out of his trance. Heading toward his friends, Lincoln stopped in his tracks as soon as he saw another name on the coat tag. It read "Heinrich Hemmet". He couldn't help but return to the same table that handed over the uniform to point out the small mistake.

"Uh, I'm sorry, but that's someone else's!" He said handing the same uniform to the soldier. "Hmm... That's right, it must have been too small for him, that's why it's here" He ripped off the label with the name written on it and threw it in a wastebasket next to the table "But there's no problem, here, you can take it now". Seeing that the uniform was his now, Lincoln thanked him, took it, and went to join his friends. Seeing Lincoln gone, the man looked toward the bin that had thrown the name tag, and saw another Tens of hundreds of them inside. Letting out a long, weary sigh, he just prayed that the boy wasn't one of the thousands of dead on the field.

Lincoln: Do you guys remember that song I sang before i "disappeared"?

Rita: I remember that one like it was yesterday... Ha~ A good memory... But, what it has to do with it?

Lincoln: Let's just say... That song was our "March song"

Lola Lana: Really?

Lana: But didn't you came up with those Lyrics?

Lincoln: Eh... Not really...

Back to 1916...

Off from the Head Quarters...

It was a big battalion. Several Young boys dressed and neat in their uniforms with vests, but still did not have their helmets. They marched, singing with pride and genuine happiness. With their rifles on their back, helded by hems, Albert, Franz Lincoln and Ludwig were lined up one behind the other, but Lincoln was at the back of the three. They were singing the song Lincoln had sung the night before he traveled back in time, giving him something close enough to the feeling of nostalgia.

[...]

Three months later

Those were long, distant march for three months straight everu single morning, and target practice that left their fingers calloused. Several boys exercised for many days because eventually, the trucks that would transport the infantry to the front would arrive at any moment. Oh God... How many illusions... How many lies they believed, how easily they were deceived by a non-existent reality. Lincoln and his friends would train for several days in a row, and eventually, Lincoln always outdid them. Albert always said "That way you'll attract the girls you want, and even the ones you don't" in a mocking way. They always laughed; ate; and talked together. Little did they know that fate had chosen one of them to suffer.

Eventually, Ludwig was starting to crack in training, but with Lincoln's support, he kept moving forward and doing his duty as a soldier. Alber and Franz always tried to flirt with the girls who washed, cleaned and cared for the soldiers, but they always ended up making a fool of themselves in the end. When the transport truck came, Lincoln and Co. were the first to get into it. These were the memories of Lincoln, who was now on his way to the trenches. Along with nine other soldiers inside the truck, a lieutenant was examining the G45 rifles, and showing how to reload them. After taking Albert's rifle, the older man stopped and looked at the sixteen year old boy and asked "What's your name young man?" After realizing the question was meant for him, Albert replied "Kropp. Albert Kropp sir!" Looking at him and the rifle, he can only ask again "Do you like dirty girls, Kropp?" he looked confused at the Sergeant, but he was out of patience "DO YOU LIKE DIRTY GIRLS?!" "No... No sir!!" Alberto had jumped in his seat as the sergeant threw his rifle at him "SO why do you sleep with one?" He addressed Lincoln who handed him his rifle. He looked more proud of his weapon. "COMPANIERS, YOU WILL FIGHT MIRED IN ABSOLUTE SHIT. AND TO FIGHT, YOU WILL HAVE TO DO IT WITH A CLEAN G45!!"

"YOU WILL TAKE CARE OF HER" He handed the gun back to Lincoln. He was the last one who had to be inspected. "WILL SPOIL HER; AND KEEP HER AS IMMACULATE AS A LITTLE VIRGIN'S THIGH!" The boys, still in their teens, couldn't help but laugh at the immature joke. It kind of helped clear the air of tension. "YES SIR! YES SIR!! HAHA" The boys shouted, but as soon as the sergeant announced their arrival to the regiment of front line fighters, they all shouted at the same time with an enthusiastic out of this world "WELCOME TO PARIS!!!"

As he walked alongside a single file of huge soldiers, Lincoln couldn't help but feel tired walking in those boots. After they arrived at the camp, the surgeon major forced all of the fleet of trucks to finish their journey on foot, as he said he needed the trucks to transport the wounded to the main hospital. "WHAT'S YOUR SOLDIER NAME?!" The sergeant shouted at Franz, causing Lincoln to walk forward, but his head turned towards the scene. "Franz sir!" FRANZ MY BOY, THE REGIMENT BELIEVES YOU ARE COMPETENT ENOUGH TO LAST THE END OF THE INTERNAL WAR WITHOUT DIEING. DO YOU WANT THIS TO BE TRUE?!" "YES SIR!" "THEN STOP DRAGGING YOUR FEET AND WALK FASTER!!!!"

"LET'S GO FASTER GUYS, DON'T SLEEP HERE!! THIS ISN'T AN AFTERNOON TEA TO RELAX LIKE THIS!!" Before anyone could think of anything, a whistle came from the sky, and an explosion followed. A bomb was dropped from the sky, and following training with the other soldiers, they all threw themselves to the ground, covering their heads with their helmets "GAS!!! GAS!!! PUT ON YOUR GAS MASKS!!!" Seeing a cylinder-shaped pot, hanging around his neck by a leather strap, he opened the pot and took out a gas mask. Lincoln was about to put on the mask, but as soon as he saw his friend Ludwig having difficulty putting it on because of his glasses, he gave up and went to help his comrade.

"GENTLEMAN, THAT WAS A FAT PIG!! IF THE FRENCH HAD A GOOD AIM, WE WOULD BE SPOONED OFF THIS ROAD AND BURIED IN A KITCHEN PLATE!! BUT OF ONE THING I AM ABSOLUTELY SURE!!! FAT PIGS DON'T CARRY GAS!!!" At the last few seconds, Lincoln had managed to help his friend and put on his mask, but the sergeant didn't look happy with his delay in such an action. Walking towards the Albino boy, and with the mask on his face, the chief soldier was now looking at Lincoln, who also had his mask on his face, who was breathing heavily. Pushing Ludwig out of the way, the lieutenant was now face to face with Lincoln. His voice didn't sound pleasant at all... "Didn't you hear the orders soldier?" "I'm sorry sir! I was just trying to put on my mask!!". Where Lincoln's breathing was rapid, the older man's was slow and impatient. "Almost certain to be dead by the next morning, Private Lincoln..." But of course even he was more pious, to prove that his heart wasn't cold as a stone "You should eat something soldier" And he started to walk away.
