(This will be the last chapter of the story. The next addition to the story I'll post asap.

Also heads up, the coroner in this fanfic is Annie Cranston, who was played by Mikaela Bisson, back from S8)

It was 8:00 in the morning, William had just woken up, still holding onto Susannah's hand. He was so thankful and grateful that the treatment had worked and she will be ok.

He looked over to see Julia, still sleeping, as he got up, stretched and went to the cafeteria to get him and Julia breakfast.

As he walked down the hall, Nurse Sullivan saw him, "detective Murdoch"

"Nurse Sullivan" as he yawned

"How is…"

"She woke up last night"

"Thank goodness. Did she say much?"

"That she was sorry she lied and that sister Helga caused the bruising"

"What about Timothy?"

William rubbed his forehead, "Julia couldn't say it, but I told Susannah she was a brave little girl and we got Timothy out."

"So, she doesn't know he has passed?"

He shakes his head, "no, we told her to rest, after that."

"That's for the best until she is ready."

William nodded, "Julia is still asleep, so I'm going to the cafeteria to get breakfast. Do you want anything?"

"Coffee, toast and eggs would be great, thank you"

"Of course," as he continued on his way

It was 20 minutes later, as he reentered Susannah's room with a tray of coffee, toast, eggs, along with some orange juice and porridge for Susannah.

Both Julia and Susannah were awake, "daddy"

Susannah said as William smiled, "good morning. How's my little girl, doing?" He asked as Julia examined her, "the treatment worked very well"

"Can she have something to eat? I brought some juice and porridge from the cafeteria for her"

"Oh, please mama, can I eat?"

"Yes, you need can, but no toast."

"I'm fine with that" she says as Julia sits her up, and William puts a tray over her lap.

"William did you get enough food?"

"I got some breakfast for Nurse Sullivan"

"Oh, thanks for doing that. She just in the water closet."

"I'll just keep her food covered." He says as he puts the tray aside and sits down and eats.

As they finished their breakfast, Susannah said, "I'm sorry for being such a bad girl"

"Who told you, that?" William asked

"Sister Helga. Since she arrived, everyday time I went to school, she told me I was a bad girl. Sometimes would call me a sinful child."

"You are not a bad girl or a sinful child, Susannah, and you know that." Julia said as she rubbed her head

"I always told her that. But because, I talked back to her, she would take me to a room and use the paddle on me."

William began tearing up, "did she do this with other children?"

She nodded, "Timothy, Jamie, but he went missing a week ago. Richie, Philip and Michael."

"You were the only girl, she would do those harmful things too?" Julia asked as she looked at William

"Yes, because I was the only girl who would stick up for the boys. The other girls were too scared."

"Is the other boys you mention in your class?" William asked

"Richie is in grade 2, Philip and Michael are in grade 5."

"Did they say something bad to get their beatings?" Julia asked

"If they didn't write their names properly, run fast enough for physical education and used their left hand when writing."

"Wa…is Timothy, left-handed?" William asked catching himself

"Yes, and where is he. I thought you would be treating him mommy."

"His wards wanted to place him in the hospital, so he could get the treatment he needed." Julia said on the spot

"When I get well, enough may I see him?"

"Of course, you can." William said

"One thing that bothers me still Susannah is why, you don't want to go tricks or treats?" Julia asked

"Last week, I was sitting down color a picture with some of the other children. One of them mentioned what they do on certain holidays, and I mentioned Halloween. She grabbed me from my chair, took me to the other room, told me to lean over the desk as she grabbed the paddle…"

"Yes, darling go on"

"She told me Halloween was the devil's birthday and if I participated I was going to hell. After the disciplining, she told me, if either of you saw my bruises, to say I fell down the stairs."

They both understood, as they gently hugged her, "nothing wrong with Halloween. I enjoy doing tricks and treats with you, ever since you were a baby. Your first Halloween, we didn't get a chance to go out, but we surprised your mommy."

"We did?"

"Yes, I came home and daddy and you surprised me. Daddy was a vampire and you were the most beautiful bat I had ever seen"

"What an idea, daddy"

William chuckled, "once you have your strength back, we can still go tricks and treats, this year, if you want too"

"I do, and I want to be Dorothy. Daddy, can you be Tin Man and mama, the witch or Scarecrow."

"Sounds like a great idea" Julia said

It was a couple of hours later, Susannah had enough strength, to move herself, so William could take photographs of her body, as proof, of her beatings.

William arrived at the morgue, as he saw Miss Cranston writing an autopsy report, "Miss Cranston"

"Good afternoon, Detective. How's your little girl doing?"

"She's alive, awake and told me what happened"

"I am glad"

"Did you finish, with Timothy's postmortem?"

"I did. He had internal bleeding, all throughout his body. Concussion, brain hemorrhage, so many broken bones." And took a deep breath, "how could a person, do this to a young child?"

William looked down, "I failed him. But I'm relieved Susannah called me when she did." And took out his camera to take photographs of Timothy's body for evidence and left the morgue.

He arrived in the station not paying attention, to any of the constables when Brackenreid caught him, "Murdoch?"

William looked at him, "she's alright. The treatment worked."

"Thank God. You didn't call, I thought the worst."

"I apologize, sir."

"It's alright, I understand."

"I got photographs of Susannah's and Timothy's injuries to develop for evidence. Going do them right now, before giving that Sister a piece of my mind."

"Before you do that, George and Watts got more information about Sister Helga, that could help."

"Oh, tell me"

It was an hour later, as William entered into the interrogation room. Sister Helga was sitting at the table, holding onto her cross and praying.

"Detective, it's about time."

William says nothing, as he places photographs, of not only Susannah and Timothy, but other children and bones, they had found in the school yard and other school yards across the country.

"So, Pope John isn't the only school, you have killed or nearly killed children."

"I didn't kill them. I was just disciplining them"

He grabs Timothy's photograph, "look at Timothy's body."

She takes a quick glance and looks away.

"I Said Look!" He said with an angry voice, "look at those bruise marks. Because of your beatings, he died from internal bleeding. He was suffering."

She did the sign of the cross, "may God help him, in Heaven."

William grabbed Susannah's photograph, "Look At My Daughter's Body! All these markings are cause of you and that paddle."

"It's obvious you don't teach her the way of the Lord, and don't discipline her properly."

He slammed his hand against the table, "Don't You Dare Tell Me, How I Should Raise My Daughter! I Too, Have Felt The Wrath Of The Paddle! It Hurt!"

"You're a Catholic man. You need to teach her the Catholic way."

"Such as what? Not speaking her mind?"

She gives him a look, meaning yes.

"Luckily, I found her in time. She will live, but…"

He stands up from the table, "Sister Helga, you're under arrest for the murder of Timothy Collins, Richard Boyd, Philip Royce, Michael Rams and many others, including the attempted murder of my daughter, Susannah Murdoch"

Constable McNabb, came in and took Sister Helga to the cells, before she said, "may God, forgive you for this"

William smirks, "if he doesn't, I'll go to hell as a happy man"

He got back to the clinic, and saw Effie in the hallway, "Effie"

"William. Did you arrest the nun?"

"I did. It felt good."

"Little George, wouldn't stop asking about his cousin."

"Well, thanks for coming by for a visit. I'm glad she still has George Jr, for a friend."

"I heard about her friend, Timothy."

"We haven't told her, yet and don't know how she would take it"

"She will be alright."

William rubbed his forehead, before entering into Susannah's room.

"Daddy!"

"Uncle William!"

"Hi sweetheart, hi buddy. Nice to see you coming by."

"It made me feel better, daddy."

He smiled, "where's your mother?"

"She went to the water closet" Effie said

"Thanks" William said as he sat down

Effie and little George, said their goodbye's, as Julia came back and sat on the other chair, beside Susannah's bed.

As they held her hands, she said, "mama, daddy, is there something wrong?"

"Why do you say that?"

"Daddy keeps rubbing his forehead, which he does when he feels awkward, anxious or nervous. Am I gonna…"

"No, my love, you're doing excellent. Healing quite well."

"Sister Helga?"

"She's going to prison." William said as he clenched her hand

"It's Timothy, isn't it?"

Julia held back the tears as she rubbed her head, "I'm sorry, darling. He didn't make it."

Susannah nodded as she closed her eyes crying, "let's pray for him and that he get the justice, he deserves"

William and Julia looked at each other and smiled, as they all prayed together.

When they were done praying, Susannah asked, "if I feel better, can I attend his funeral?"

"Of course, you can, sweetheart." William said as he kissed her forehead, "you are such a brave, strong girl. Mama and I are so proud of you."

"We really are." Julia said as she kissed her forehead.
