Ros swore as she heard the bullet bounce off the metal door Lucas had just disappeared through. Ignoring Ruth's pleas for her to wait she set off after him, knowing the door led to the roof. Dimitri ran after her, knowing they were dealing with more than one gunman. He just prayed Zaf and the others were able to provide the back up they needed.

"Harry." Adam's voice cut through the comms. "You are needed back on the Grid. Now."

"Adam?" Harry pressed the call accept button on the car's dashboard as he weaved his way through the London traffic. "Sit rep."

"All Hell is breaking loose." Catherine's voice cut in. "Dad, just get back here. Alec is bringing Tasha back in. We need you here."

"Understood." Harry cut the call before pushing his foot to the accelerator.

Lucas barrelled through the door to the roof with his gun in his outstretched hand. He stopped dead in his tracks as he saw the man they now knew was Daniel Lee staring at the city below.

"Why them?" Lucas asked as he approached. "Why Malcolm and the others. Desk officers. You knew who they were."

"Pick the weakest off first. Survival of the fittest."

Lucas narrowed his eyes. He had never thought of any of the desk officers as the weak link. Knowing the man in front of him had a background in MI6 he was surprised that he had believed that.

"Killing them, you think we would just let that go?" Ros appeared from another doorway, closer to the edge of the roof than Lucas would like. He wanted to yell at her to get inside but knew that was the husband in him, Ros was his boss. He had to have her back but there was no way he was going to let their relationship get in the way of the work; even if it killed him.

"Yeah, well. Had some scores to settle."

"With a semi retired desk officer, a sleeper and an analyst. You know you aren't walking away from this. You came after my team." Ros kept her voice low, her ear piece now safely in her pocket she hoped the team back on the Grid could hear what was happening. "Step away from the edge."

"Don't think so."

"Daniel, we aren't going to walk away and leave you up here." Lucas stated. "You know that."

"Aye." He nodded as his arm raised in front of him. Lucas raised his gun, pointing it at the man who was holding his gun on him. Ros swore.

"Put the gun down!" She yelled, the wind blowing her words away as she stepped nearer. Daniel shook his head.

"Don't think so."

"Put it down. You don't have to do this." Lucas clicked the safety catch off his gun as she spoke. Daniel smirked at him.

"Oh I think I do. You think this is it? Me? Nah. Little fish in a big pool. It isn't just me you have to worry about." He stepped nearer the ledge as Ros lowered her gun slightly. He took another step back before throwing his gun to the ground below. Lucas darted forward at the same time Ros tried to rugby tackle him. Ros screamed in frustration as the man she had tried to detain jumped away, falling to his death below.
